Love Is Love #3

In Between

Rate this book
I'm the preacher's daughter.
Dylan is the punk son of the bigoted sheriff.
Julian the new kid in town everyone talks about in whispers and avoids like the plague.
Dylan and Julian shouldn't want each other.
It's dangerous.
This town won't accept them and yet I run towards the fire because love deserves a chance.
It's not just them that's in danger this time.
They both want me too.
I crave them and all they can offer me.
But I can't have them.
It's wrong. Perverted. Immoral. And I'm a good church girl.
At least, that's what everyone thinks…

Can we hide who we are from a town who’s against us or will we be burned by their hatred?

*This is Mary’s story and can be read as a stand alone but will be best enjoyed after reading Bully King. This is an interracial MMF story and will have triggering language and situations due to racism and homophobia. Please proceed with caution.

From Dyslexic kid with a love of Algebra to a published author, no one is more surprised to find me here, than I am. I love to write about tortured pasts and hot sex, a happily ever after that has to be worked for. My stories tend to be a little dark but with some comic relief, typically in the form of sarcasm.

Mary deserved better, I get this feeling through all the book that she was just a diversion to Dylan and Julian, they don't really need her.
Just a girl they felt the need to take care of...
A lack of chemistry.
Between Julian and Dylan was undeniable, but Mary... More that happened in the first book, but in this one, none of them were her brother, so...
But I didn't feel the connection, she was always the second option.
But it's still a beautiful story.
I liked Charlie and Mary should be with him. It would be a nice twist. Someone just for her...
She had fun with Julian and Dylan, but...

Love demonstrations were always between Julian and Dylan.

Although it's beautiful but cuts a bit what the story should be.
Btw... This book shouldn't be about Mary?
I felt like she was a secondary character.

Though they keep repeating that in the book, Andi Jaxon's heart wasn't really in to it...

*** I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book***

In Between is beautifully heartbreaking story of three outcasts, rebels and misfits who connect in a surprising way and help each other navigate through their backwards town. In an MMF story it can be tricky to have an equal balance of each person.

I love how In Between allows each person the opportunity to have an arc of growth that was emotional and really captures the difficulty of feelings trapped and powerless. This is a very powerful story that touches on so many important topics that were all handled with care and compassion.

In Between is Mary, Julian and Dylan's story. Mary is the younger sister of the main character in Bully King. I enjoyed getting her perspective on her family situation and getting to see her huge heart and love for the underdog, which allows her to collide both Julian and Dylan.

Julian and Dylan have such a complicated story. Julian is the new kid, which is stressful enough, but due to him being the only black kid in school, he is a target by the racism still within the town. What I enjoyed about Julian's character is he strong heart when dealing with his strong sense of loss and survivor's guilt. Even through his pain he remains stoic and strong to survive each day. I loved how supportive his family is, which is in direct opposition with Dylan.

Dylan is the town trouble maker who is constantly trying to rile everyone up and get under their skin. This persona covers up the emotional and physical abuse he suffers daily from his father, the corrupt town sheriff. He also battles guilt from the disappearance of his mother. He used he great self deprecating sense of humor to escape his pain, but with Julian and Mary he able to finally show his feelings.

Each main character is strong, but they each need something from the other, which is a great show of how well this story balances how necessary each person is in this relationship. In Between has some hard to read moments while maintaining the strong love and devotion each main character has for the other.

Once again this author depicts a fantastically complicated love story. Cannot wait for the next one.

Something about a WHITE AUTHOR using the whole N word Hard R doesn't sit right with me.

Why is it yall are only capable of writing racism for your books with Black characters as their defining event?

This was ridiculous... seriously. ...you can pick it up if you wanna read MMF smut, a lot of smut, actually hot smut BUT do you really want to read 400+ pages only for good smut. In case you are wondering why I picked it up even though I am usually not into menage, it's because I loved the last book by the author Tainted. Tainted was a beautifully written romance between a trans guy and a young jock. This one though reminded me why I should have never read Bully King.

Welcome to the Island of Misfit Toys where three people who don't fit anywhere find their homes within one another.

Andi Jaxon told a beautiful story about love in the face of hate. Mary, Julian, and Dylan just made sense. From the moment they realized their feelings were what they were it just made sense. Almost like puzzle pieces that slotted together so effortlessly.

Dylan the bad boy who only wanted to escape his home life. Julian the boy suffering from a loss he wasn't ready to accept and Mary, the girl with a heart so big she had enough love to give to two boys.

In the face of so much hate it would tear most people apart but these three banded together and made something beautiful out of the disaster that surrounded them. Julian didn't know what to do when he was left in a town that had so much hate for him because of the color of his skin. How people could still do and say the things that they did in the time that we live in now. Then Dylan, oh that sweet, tortured boy. He had so much love to give but because of the life he led there was no one there to receive that love much less appreciate it. And our girl Mary, she knew love and she showed that love daily. Her family was only interested in her for the love that she gave God, but Mary's god wasn't their god. He was accepting and loving of everyone. It wasn't until the bruised boy and the football player that she realized her love was cherished. These three might have been misfits who didn't have a place but together they found it and so much more in one another. The love I felt pouring out of these pages was powerful, beautiful, and so raw. It was real, and it was true.

These are just a bunch of ramblings about how much I adored the love Mary, Julian and Dylan shared but it is all true. Finding your person, or in this case people is rare. Finding them in the face of the hate they all endured was even more beautiful. I do hope that this isn't the last book in the Love is Love series because I think good ole' boy Charlie needs to find his man. *wink wink*

PERFECTION ALL THE WAY!!!!

This book has all the feels. ALL the feels.

The angst was brutal, intense and heartbreaking. Prepare to have you heart destroyed.

Heart-wrenching pain covers every chapter making it seep from the pages.
Touching on some tough topics woven through out dealing with alot of pain.

Dylan and Julian SWOON SWOON SWOON

Gah I couldn't get enough of this broken, lovable threesome.. all different in every way possible but all brought together in the most beautiful way.

Mary was this fierce little spitfire. And the love between them had you captivated from chapter to chapter.
With extra steam this book brought the hotness.

I cried, I laughed, I swooned and I felt broken through out this entire story.

In Between will forever be etched into my soul. It was a beautiful and devasting story filled with so many emotions. A perfect ending that will have your heart full and emotions finally reeling in.

One of my top books of 2022 for sure.

I waited so much to reading this book. I read this writer for the first in BULY KING and since' been captivated by her sensitive yet loving writing in which she is dealing with issues not easy for some to read but yet with so much love in her words!
Mary is the preacher's daughter, she is the perfect one. Who does all she is asked to do' never argues, manages by herself even when refused for basics' she always smiles, always helps all in need and still – being the sister of a gay person (Jonah from bully king) she only gets resentments and harassments?
She is the safe place, the one who gives comfort

Julian is the new student. Brilliant at football, good grades but he has no chance in a town where his main problem is the color of his skin
He is the rock, the voice of reason, the one you count on
And Dylan – the sheriff's son' the trouble maker, who likes keeping people on their toes and getting on their nerves. everyone knows what happens at his home. no one does nothing
He is the heart of this story – the broken who takes care of everyone, who makes sure all are safe even on his own expense
The one who changes the most and get his chance of redemption

They are the three who are the outsiders and from the need to keep each other's backs comes a great friendship and great love
Who says love can be only between a girl and a boy? Who says there can only two people in love with each other?
Triggers: Homophobia, racism, menage, domestic violence, harassment, parental negligence, and this is an mmf story… so…. The sex scenes are really hot!

"I know the bible says what Dylan, Julian, and I are doing is wrong' but I need them. They need each other. I love them so much it hurts"

“𝙄’𝙢 𝙙𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙬𝙞𝙢. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙧𝙖𝙛𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙞𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙢𝙚. 𝙄’𝙢 𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧.”

In Between is the third book in the Love is Love series and is interlinked. This is Mary's story.

We first met Mary in Bully King, Jonah's story. In Between is a interracial story of a love between a preachers daughter, son of a bigoted and abusive town sheriff and the new kid. Their story is filled with racism, homophobia and violence.

Dylan and Julian's connection really came through in this story and I feel like their love for eachother was more central to story but Mary plays a key part too with the boys desiring her. This is a super steamy, hard hitting dark MMF highschool/small town romance.

I really loved Dylan and he was by far my favourite character, his father was a piece of trash in a cesspool town. He came off as the ultimate bad boy but he was the sweetest at his core.

There are some real trigger warnings with In Between that are mentioned above but also there is off page attempted rape and murder. Reader's discretion is advised. I really enjoyed this story and although there is a lot of hard moments in this book but we do get a HEA at the end.

In Between will challenge your romantic belief in this emotionally written book!

What an amazingly written story!!!! Welcome to the third stand-a-lone book in Author Andi Jaxon’s Love Is Love series where each perfect book has been more perfect, and the interconnected characters are people who have faced the worst of circumstances and triumphed – in the end. If you ignore everything about my review, don’t ignore this: just read IN BETWEEN because it is one-helluva-must-read-book!!!

Ms Jaxon dealt with some pretty strong and disturbing subjects and opinions, and my heart sat heavy, then out of the blue she made me laugh in surprise where food or drink were spat onto my tablet. My emotions were continually on the boil meaning that IN BETWEEN was no passive read.

She absolutely invested so much of herself into this book, and that she engaged sensitivity readers to ensure she’d perfectly captured the lives and experiences of our characters, especially Julian, showed the level of integrity that she aimed to achieve. Hell, she did achieve it!!! The saddest and most heart hurting thought for me, was to know that familial experiences were included and I couldn’t even imagine, nor would I want to, how life was for people of colour to live, and who are still living with the level of bias that Julian and his family experienced 💔😭

The hypocrisy, the apathy and the lack of hope. I felt desperation just bleed through the voices of Mary, Dylan and Julian. In these enlightened times, I struggled to believe that these attitudes still existed from the very people who tout the word of God. I felt broken hearted for our throuple.

“Your ability to play football and sleep around are the determinate factors for important members of society. “Boys will be boys,” is a common mantra around here, basically giving them free rein to do whatever the hell they want with no consequences. Unless it’s with another boy.”

A disturbing attitude for their town within the bible belt. Hypocrisy most certainly ruled. I wrote this review as I read my way through the book, with tears in my eyes, catching in the back of my throat. Ms Jaxon described the rising awareness between Dylan and Julian through episodes of violent racism and parental abuse. The most crucial scene for me though, where the three intersected was early in the book and each stood up for the other. It was only moving forward that a delicate friendship began to form, camouflaged by aggressive moves from Dylan.

Oh man I loved his self depreciating sense of humour. He lived to wind people up, earn the ire of others and getting involved in fights. The pain that others dished out was easy compared to what was handed out at home. His life was pain, bruises and abuse and his father, the Sheriff was a hypocritical bully showed nothing but contempt for his only child, so Dylan’s manner of reaching out to Mary and Julian was rough, almost agressive being that it was the only acceptable way to invite interaction. And it was in the gift of Ms Jaxon’s writing that his desire to touch and love shone through even as he waited to be slapped back and rejected. I adored him.

From the moment we were introduced to Julian, my heart broke for him – so many times. His witty yet appalled observations of the society into which his family had moved into were sad yet hilarious. His character, like the love of his family was strong, resilient and upbeat. I just admired him for the beautiful young man he was. Like Mary, his strength of conviction in treating people with respect, until they proved undeserving, was admirable and his defence of those he loved was strong.

I can’t say enough how much I LOVED Julian’s family!!! Loving, loud, supportive, raucous, all inclusive, and a beautiful example of people who attend church, live by God’s word and feel blessed even in the face of adversity. They were totally hilarious and an absolute foible to the seriousness of the situations that our three teens had to deal with on the daily.

I loved that Julian took charge of Dylan, the only one to calm the his demons and be his safe person, all while controlling their kisses through an owning grasp around the back of his neck. It might not sound romantic, but as written by Ms Jaxon, oh yes, it totally was.

And finally, FINALLY we get to hear from Mary! Oh wow, I just loved her feistiness and her inherent good heart. She surprised me and the boys and I just loved Dylan’s captivated appraisal of her.

“Oh, Shit! Little Mary’s got some serious backbone! I think I’m in love.”

She often put herself in the way of physical harm as she defended those she loved and she wasn’t shy about it. Regardless of who she chose to love, her integrity and love for God was apparent, even as she questioned and was appalled at her father’s teachings.

I could absolutely go on and on. There was so much to love and to think about. IN BETWEEN was a book that I’d looked forward to reading, and Ms Jaxon absolutely delivered. Love isn’t perfect. It can’t be when the people involved aren’t perfect, but it was perfect for them.

Seriously, this book will be one of my top reads for 2022 and deserves a perfect score. I'd love to rate it at more than 5-Emotionally-Challenging-Stars!!! 💚°*🖤*°

First, I'm trying to remember when a book cover has so appropriately fit a character, but Dylan is matched to a T on the front of In Between. I certainly know better than to judge a book by its cover, but I fell just a little more in love with him while keeping his angsty face front and center because one you meet him and all of his sassy, brokenness those moody eyes on the cover, well Dylan is going to break your heart and then stitch it all back together again.

All three characters are gloriously written, Andi really outdid herself with this book. Mary, Julian, and Dylan all have their own baggage in this MMF story. Alone they all could carry a plot, but mixed together their story has depth and emotional weight that truly pulls at every heartstring and turns the pages chapter after chapter.

I grew up in the "Free to Be You and Me" generation. The mantras of a person's a person regardless of color or gender, or love one another regardless of what they look like is ingrained in me. I took those words to heart and met every new acquaintance as a friend until they proved otherwise. Yes, I'm an optimist, I'm one of those people that can strike up a conversation with anyone, so basically I'm Mary, just a little bit older. I saw myself in her character over and over again. Not with two hot men sadly..., but Mary is an eternal optimist, and she also gets two boyfriends- score for her-but it isn't an easy peasy thing and certainly not something she sought out.

Mary doesn't like to see injustice in the world and she certainly likes helping. I adored that, like her namesake, she was able to fall back on her strong faith foundation and remind others that Jesus wasn't sitting upon a throne just looking down at those less than. He too was a man who walked upon the earth and spent most of his time with the beggars, thieves and those that had been shunned by society. Mary's soul and kind spirit gravitated toward those who weren't all shiny and I loved how she always jumped in to help someone out in need, especially Julian and Dylan. While she struggled at first with the prospect of loving two men, she also thought god wouldn't give her love if it was bad. Again, I loved how she continually turned to the positive things of religion.

The love in this book covers a little bit of everything. We have the virgin Mary, the irony is not lost on her name. Dylan loves a buffet more or less. Love truly is love for him and he doesn't succumb to labels. Julian who is straight, until he meets Dylan and well, Julian isn't sure what label to define himself at this point, except he knows he likes both Mary and his crazy neighbor. The thruples discovery is wonderful and a part I always enjoy.

Dylan was definitely bruised and battered by a system that was broken. His father is the sheriff in town, but within his own home he was a child of domestic violence. He could be dark and mean, but instead Dylan is sassy and sarcastic....tending to irritate a lot of people, like his father and football players, but it made me laugh through most of his chapters. Like a lot of people who use humor during tense times, it was a deflection to getting close to him. Dylan was a master of hiding from his emotions. He was always up for a good time and he did care, in his own way, if something happened to Mary and Julian. He didn't understand his new found attachment to them, but he wasn't about to analyze it either. Again he hated emotions, but that beautiful broken boy was the glue between the three of them.

Julian is the silent strength with the biggest obstacles to overcome. He's a boy who's recently moved to a small town where he is the minority. Never in his life has he felt so singled out and judged for this color of his skin. Julian tries to keep his head down and just get through the day, but a feisty little cheerleader and his sarcastic neighbor keep ending up in his path and tearing down his walls. Julian comes from a loving extended family and of the three of them, has the best support, a stable life, along with a roof over his head. Mary and Dylan struggled with both and luckily were able to soak up a bit of Julian's beautiful home life. It's just the outside world that is cruel and harsh and could hurt all three of them if their secret ever got out.

Julian's part of the story tugged at my heart and tore at me for different reasons. One, his family life stirred up memories of my youth and the warmth I received at my friends' homes, those treasured moments when life was both easier and tougher because of my age. A time of nativity when life seemed simpler, but that was perhaps because I didn't understand just how harsh the world could be.

Unfortunately, Julian was shoved head first in those harsh realities, facing bigotry and hate, which tore through me each and every time slurs were said. I know the world exists in this harsh reality, instead of loving their fellow man, which saddens me. I loved Mary and Dylan even more for loving Julian just for him. Nothing more, nothing less. The three of them had a lot to overcome, but between them, inside their bubble, they just see each other and not the social, religious, racial, or economic views that the world outside would try to tear them apart for.

In Between was wonderfully steamy and sassy, but also beautifully written. I know Andi put a lot of work into this book and it shows.

How can I say this nicely? . . .

Fuck it, there isn't.

Fuck you, Dixon, for making my emotions run the full gambit while reading this masterpiece. I mean did you really have to go in for the kill like you did. Yes, yes, I know you are just the middleman for the voices that are Julius, Dylan, and Mary, but damn it to hell woman couldn't you wrangle them in just a little bit? Roman and Jonah had already had my heart splintered. Then you went and cracked it with Taylor and Dean. Now you had to come in and crush my heart with this one. You had me so close at times to shedding tears that I was worried that this cold-hearted bitch was going to show some real emotions. I swear if you had sacrificed a puppy, you would have had me.

There isn't one part of this story that I didn't love. This one was one that needed to be told and needs to be read. It had an array of situations that make it relatable to real life that you just get sucked in from the start. Hell, I fucking had to force myself to stop reading at times to that I was pacing myself just to make sure that I truly absorbed everything that is Julius, Dylan, and Mary. They deserved all of my attention and that was what they were fucking getting.

Andi Jaxon you have quickly become one of my top go to authors. The way that you give your characters their voices so that we the readers can have the privilege to enjoy reading them. So remember your work is important, it's here for those that need something to help them find themselves in a world that makes them have millions of questions about themselves. Keep writing my Word Fairy, you are needed and loved.

This is one of the best books I have read so far this year! Let me be clear it was not an easy read and it was not one I could read it one sitting, having to take a step away from the way these characters were treated. I will say that Andi Jaxon has handled the very difficult issues discussed her in as sensitive a way as possible.

Here we meet Mary, the daughter of a preacher, Dylan, the son of the sheriff and Julian who is the new boy in town. What is very clear is that the vast majority of the town is homophobic, misogynistic and racist and that this is condoned by the people in power like the preacher and sheriff. The relationship between these three develops from the fact that they are not part of the popular crowd and the need to protect Mary from the football player who thinks it is his right to put his hands on her and take what he wants.

It is clear that Julian and Dylan have an attraction towards each other but they are equally attracted to Mary as Mary is equally attracted to both Dylan and Julian. They know that they can never live openly as a threesome but thankfully Julian's family are understanding, compassionate and welcoming, which provides then with a safe haven.

This was a really gritty read but worth wading through the treacle of the bad stuff to get to the strength of the characters and the strength of the relationship that was certainly mature above their ages. They have compassion, fire and are not afraid to stand up for what's right. They also have a protective nature a mile long that means they put themselves in danger for those they care for. It was incredibly well written. Love beats hate and love is love. I have been really impressed by Andi Jaxon's writing and her ability to tackle difficult issues in a way that is compassionate and sensitive way without diluting them.

I knew I would love this book when I heard about Mary having her own book! I loved Dylan, Julian and Mary. They are the perfect trio. I love seeing other characters from the other books. Dylan so reminded me of Roman.

This book is a roller coaster ride from beginning to end. I couldn’t put this book down bc I wanted to keep reading it. My heart broke for them on certain scenes and some parts had me laughing (Dylan’s fault bc of his mouth and Mary’s sassiness). I love how they were together. Julian also didn’t take any BS.

This book is the best one of the year and I can’t wait for what Andi will write next. If you loved Bully King and Tainted then you will love this one.

Andi Jaxon has once again delivered another fantastic addition in the ( Love is Love Series ) a series that is fun , sexy , steamy , emotional, angsty, heartfelt, heartbreaking, dark , filled with unexpected surprises, love , family , relationships and characters that have the ability to grab at all your heartstrings and pull you so quickly into their journeys Dylan , Julian and Mary’s love story is a MFM romance so if that’s not a trope you are a fan of then this is not the book for you. But if you are as much of a lover as I am of pretty much all books by Andi Jaxon you will not want to miss this emotional rollercoaster. I guarantee once you start reading well you will not be able to put it down . I ended up staying up till about 4am just to finish and it was so worth all the sleep I lost . I have been dying to read this book and it far surpassed anything I could have expected. Mary, Julian, and Dylan were amazingly broken pieces who fit each other perfectly. Dylan was my favorite. Watching him learn how to love and be loved filled my heart with joy. I kept holding my breath waiting for the next trauma these characters would have to endure. Andi Jaxon's Love is Love world has completely consumed me. Every story is inclusive. Every story matters. Every store is raw and honest and needs to be told.

✨A TOP READ OF 2022✨

Wow! This book was everything I wanted for Mary and MORE! Andi took forbidden love to a whole new level in this one! Small southern town.... interracial and homosexuality. You could not ASK for more tension than that...... OH BUT ANDI GAVE US MORE ANYWAY! We already know Mary's parents are jerks.... and you can figure that Dylan's dad was a jerk too.... but he was so twisted and psychotic that I can not even comfortably give details. But let's just say the fact that he was the sheriff of the town is VERY disturbing! Julian has THE most wonderful and understanding parents on the planet! And I freaking LOVE them! I want to be invited by momma Steph over to a cookout! And the steamy scenes.... 🥵🥵🥵 *chef's kiss* hot AF and beautiful! This book is ABSOLUTELY on my top reads list for 2022.... there is no way that it couldn't be! I don't know how Andi is planning to top this one, but this book will hold a special place in my heart for quite a while!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

I 'm the preacher's daughter. Dylan is the punk son of the bigoted sheriff. Julian the new kid is town everyone talks about in whispers and avoids like the plague. Dylan and Julian shouldn't want either. It's dangerous. This town won't accept them and yet I run towards the fire because love deserves a chance. It's not just them that's in danger this time. They both want me too. I crave them and all they can offer me. But I can't have them. It's wrong. Perverted. Immoral. And I'm a good church girl. At least, that's what everyone thinks. Can we hide who we are from a town who's against us or will we burned by their hatred?

If you have read Andi Jaxon's Bully King, you will be as excited as I am to go back to that world. If you haven't read that story then you should be ok reading this as a standalone. But I did see where the author said that it would be best enjoyed after Bully King. I really liked Bully King so it is worth reading.
This is the story of Mary, Julian and Dylan. If you have read Bully King, you have met Mary. Now you get her story. Mary as you know is Jonah's sister and she is also the daughter of a preacher. She is one tough little lady and is not afraid to fight for what she believes in. She is also in high school and it is certainly. It will not go down as the greatest time of her life either. But goodness she is one tough cookie and I really admired that about her and how she handles herself. Julian is the new boy in school and her is where I wanted to kick some butt. The other kids in the school are not nice to him at all because of the color of his skin. Then you have Dylan who is a local boy who isn't afraid to tell you exactly what is on his mind and tells it like it is. However he doesn't know how to deal with his emotions so he uses sarcasm to cover up his emotions since he has never learned how to deal with them in the first place. It doesn't take long before the three of them are attracted to each other. Right from the start things are not easy for them for many reasons. However someone besides Julian and Dylan now wants her. Someone who thinks her being a good girl is all fake and and he's very dangerous. There is also Julian and Dylan trying to handle personal issues and the entire town would have a fit if they knew the three of them loved each other. There is a lot that goes on in this book and I know this now sounds like the most confusing book review in the history of book reviews. I'm just trying to not have any spoilers in this review. You just need to get this book and read it. It is quiet the story to read and I fell in love with this book while reading it.

Three different people and a heck of a wild ride 🥰

🆆🅷🅰🆃 🆃🅾 🅻🅾🅾🅺 🅵🅾🆁🆆🅰🆁🅳 🆃🅾: 😍

🏷️MMF Romance

🏷️High School

🏷️Small town

🏷️The preacher's innocent daughter, Mary, the sheriff's outspoken son, Dylan and the so called town's outcast due to his colour, Julian.

🅼🆈 🆁🅴🆅🅸🅴🆆:

This story is of Mary, whom we meet in book 1 as Jonah's sister. I'd loved how he was so understanding and helped her brother and his boyfriend Roman in a town that is shackled in old beliefs.

Now she's hardly getting by, with her parents not exactly providing her with food or clothes. Add to that everybody keeps on teasing her as a preacher's daughter and how she's such an innocent, Yet Mary doesn't bow down to her bullies.

Dylan is the loudmouthed son of the sheriff. He has a brash attitude and is unafraid to joke about the very things that are frown upon in his small town where they all act as homophobes.

When a new family comes in the neighborhood and Dylan realises that the son is the one who had helped him and Mary the other day, his curiosity is piqued. But there's also an attraction there.

Julian has never met anyone like Dylan. With a recent tragedy and finding his feet after moving to a new town and with all the taunts of being harassed as a man of colour, Julian finds a unique bond with Dylan.

These three, oh my... I felt so much for each of their individual situations and yet how date brings these three different people together as they need each other.

I felt for Julian and how difficult it is to show up everyday even when people treat you like an outcast.
Then there's Mary brought up in faith but also made to believe that each and every moment should be spent in scriptures and old beliefs. But she believes in having her faith but also helping out in the true sense of the word. This is seen when she goes to parties alone even if it's dangerous to distribute free condoms to help teens avoid pregnancies.
Dylan, that poor guy shows the world how uncaring and selfish he is yet he's just a kid who's being abused and wants to have love.

There's a deep connection that I felt while reading each of the books from this series. I felt all the pain, the hurts, the mischiefs, the happy times, the smiles and the beautiful bond that bind these three together.

Then the times these three are together, together we're so on fire, I feared for my kindle was over hearing. So much of Filthy passion and dangerous attraction made me fan myself so many times. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

An exceptionally written full of feels, emotional ride that has passion and friendship and hotness and hope in a situation that is but hopeful. Loved this one. 💕💕💕💕

loved

You know those stories you read about that rave about how good a book is or how much someone liked a story… well I’m telling you stop what your doing and read this! Dylan, Mary, and Julian were perfection. This wasn’t a fluffy story. This was deeply rooted with so much depth you wanted more once it was over. Dylan was hilarious and so broken you wanted knit him back together and loved seeing Mary and Julian so just that. Mary was a BA! This girl knew what she wanted and wasn’t afraid of it. Didn’t even hesitate to follow her heart and she gave just and good as she got! And Julian… that boy stole my heart. Didn’t question anything when his heart started leading and I was here for it!! This trio was so good. I had to read it twice. The heat is so good. When I tell you I needed a cold glass of water…. Wow. But what makes this book and Andi so good is the heart that is felt in it. It’s not fake, it’s not rushed, it’s not forced. It’s easy. This story and this series are top notch and Andi is going to be on my one click list from now on… don’t even need to know the plot… it will be gold!!

In Between (Love is Love #3) is so much more than 5 stars.

Such a beautiful and brilliant MMF story , the lives of Mary - Pastors daughter, Julian a kid with colour who has moved into this racist town, then there is Dylan who is a trouble maker with a sarcastic nature who is the sheriffs son.

Sparks ignite between Julian and Dylan , then there is Mary ……

Their lives were dreadful, only Julian has a wonderful caring family , Mary’s and Dylan’s family aren’t what you call “ family “ Dylan’s father - worthless.
When they find themselves together it’s like a new life is dawning, a freedom to be themselves….
Can that happen in a small bigoted town ?

This book tore at my heart made me feel so much compassion, I love these three separately and together .

Wonderfully written a great storyline , a book that when I was out I couldn’t stop thinking about the story, when I finished I then re-read the last chapter and savoured it.

The lives of these three have is awful
I could feel their pain and disillusion with life -
A sensational book the writing so good I felt as if I was there ..
Just brilliant!

I honestly feel that this may be the hardest review that I have ever written. I went looking for a book that was steamy and emotional and would hit me with lots of feels and I got so much more than I ever anticipated. I refuse to say that Dylan, Julian and Mary's romance was enjoyable because that word feels wrong and just simply does not fit. Frankly, these characters consumed me, tormented me and left me a battle-weary emotional wreck. Yeah, I warn you, check out those trigger warnings because they are all there for excellent reasons and there are a lot of them. I am not usually a reader that really worries about them and normally they are not an issue, but even for me this book cut so close to the bone that it made me feel ill, uncomfortable, furious, heartbroken, frustrated, sad and just exhausted both mentally and physically. This story is just that powerful, impactful and potent. This is in fact the ONLY romance I have ever read that has kept me awake at night not because I had to keep reading but because my mind simply could not disengage and distance itself from all the horrific things that occurred, the terrible people and general air of awfulness that surrounded this trio of characters that so easily stole my heart. So, I warn you, do not pick this up and expect an easy, breezy read because this is far from that. What it is though is stunning, challenging, thought provoking and an outright incredible romance that brings you to your knees even as it fills your heart to bursting. Totally agony & ecstasy. I am posting an unsolicited, candid review.

I was so happy Mary got her own story. When she helped Jonah and Roman in Bully King, I knew that girl deserved her story being told. In Between takes us back to the backwater town of Kenton. A town that is firmly rooted in the most disturbing parts of America's past. Racism and homophobia is rampant.
Mary is an outcast, because she's the sister of a gay man, and she helped him and Roman hide their relationship. So she befriends the outcast son of the redneck sheriff, and the new kid, Julian. Julian is a transfer student and is immediately outcasted because the color of his skin.
I won't lie... there were parts of this book that made me extremely uncomfortable. It wasn't an easy read at all. There was abuse, racism, attempted sexual assault, loss, and I could continue on. But the love story between these three was beautiful. They were able to be the support system each craved. The three of them were the perfect tripod. Without one the other two fall and just aren't complete.
I did give it four stars instead of five, because it was overly long. I think it could have been cut down some, and still have the same impact. Other than that minor criticism, it was a beautiful story.

A Joyfully Jay review.

3.5 stars

In Between is the third entry in the Love is Love series, and follows the events of Bully King (which I very much enjoyed), but works well as a standalone. While Roman and Jonah make the occasional phone call to Mary, this is very much her story — and Dylan’s and Justin’s. It’s also a simpler story, not as complex or dark, and involves a great many graphic and explicit sex scenes between two people and three people — all of whom are 18. There is also an attempted rape, sexual harassment (by a side character), bullying, a fight in which one character is badly stabbed and another shot, and Dylan is several times beaten by his father. This book pulls no punches, so heed the warnings if you’re interested in reading this story.

Words can’t describe how amazing this book is. I feel like we have waited a long time for this book. If you follow Andi Jaxon you would know she struggled writing this book. And I can tell you that what she created was truly incredible and inspiring.

These three individuals are so so different. But they are all misfits in their small town. So even though their relationship could get them killed they find a happiness with each other. Their journey seems impossible at times and maybe they won’t get the happy ending they deserve. Their love story is steamy, tragic and so beautiful. I could have read their story for days. I was actually sad it ended. So if you can’t tell I highly recommend this book. But if you are new to this series start with Bully King because even though this is a standalone you need Roman and Jonah’s story to really get all the reference and back story.

You know how sometimes a book stays with you long after you've read those two words THE END?
Yeah, this is one of those.
This is not your typical boy meets boy or boy meets girl, more a boy meets boy and girl and they form a bond that goes all the way to their very core.
Watching these three navigate through their feelings is beautiful to see, until you throw in the fact that they live in a small town with even smaller minds.
These three have to deal with a religious zealots, homophobic attacks and slurs, and bigoted racists all in the name of love.
But the thing I took from this is that love can triumph and everyone should be able to love who they love without living in fear of your and the ones you loves lives.

Overall I enjoyed this story. I felt awful how badly things are for Mary in her home. Julian's family are simply amazing. A good story covering some really unpleasant issues.

Outstanding

This series has been outstanding and highly emotional but this one goes even further on the emotion scale. Set in a small Kentucky town it shows how backwards some areas still are regarding our fellow humans. Andi Jaxon discusses both sexuality and racism with vividly real situations. With this setting we read a beautiful love story between three wonderful people. This is a phenomenal and important read.

Mary, Dylan, and Julian are the protagonists of the third book of the Love Is Love series, In Between. Like in the previous book I read The Bully King, Andi Jaxon went all out with this MMF Romance. Julian, the new colored kid in town, met the sarcastic Dylan—the sheriff’s unwanted kid—and Mary, the preacher’s daughter, at a high school bonfire. The three teens hit it off after numerous encounters. During the rollercoaster ride, they bonded over their loneliness. Attraction led to confusion and emotional unsettling. The three struggled to come to terms with themselves while juggling their daily lives in a town that did not accept them for who they were.

Once again, Andi sent me on an emotional roller coaster. I’m a big fan of MMF Romance, so this one was right up my alley. Not to mention, the smut. Yeah, I felt like she played it off as cool when I needed more emotion at certain sections. A bit more realism. I loved how protective the boys were with Mary. I kind of disliked when one got more attention than the other, but what the hell? It all came together.

In Between tied up certain things mentioned in The Bully King, and I loved how it made the stories come together. I seriously couldn’t understand her parents. Still, I could relate. My mom is the worst and I feel like if this was me, she might not have kicked me out at such a young age. But she would have talked shit behind my back. Mary’s parents lost one child but could care less about losing one more. It was sickening. Blood doesn’t make someone family and that spoke volumes in this story.

Okay, I skipped the second book in the series, Tainted. I thought it would be better to read Mary’s story before Taylor’s because she was Jonah’s sister. Plus, the two guys thing caught my attention. I was a bit reserved from some of the reviews. I was glad I didn’t listen to them and went ahead. The struggles they faced touched me. Andi did an excellent job with portraying their emotions on paper.

I was a bit off about the ending. It reminded me of The Bully King, and I disliked that. I wasn’t a fan of where it stopped. It just seemed like that. Like there was a real ending missing. I wanted to know if they made it. Something to give me that smile at the end of the story.

Even though the ending was not to my taste, I would recommend In Between to those struggling in their surroundings and family. Some people were blessed with families open to accept other people’s differences. Others, not so much. Despite which family you fall into, there are others out there like you and need just a simple word to make them feel like they belong. Don’t judge what you don’t understand. Either learn about it or leave it alone. Simple. No one deserves to be pushed in the shadows because of who they are. So, love and care for each other despite who they are.
