The joy of reuniting with Yarandrala is short lived. From the fate of the Mistome, to the arrival of a great power’s warships, and a raid from assassins, Zoltan faces one crisis after the other. Little do the assailants realize, however, that this land is home to the world’s mightiest heroes. In this volume, Red and Ruti demonstrate their unrivaled power, Tisse squares off against a legendary assassin, and Rit is imbued with…the senses of a wolf?!

I don't tend to enjoy "slow life" novels, but this seris is a bit of an exception. Probably because it's not really about the slow life. It's about the things that happen in the world that try to keep the protagonist and friends from having a slow life and the great effort they go through to defend their way of life. This novel was a good example of that paradigm. Although I will say that less really happened in this novel than I would prefer; I'll accept it as being setup for what comes next though.

I read this novel as it was published in serial on j-novel.club rather than the released ebook version.

I started this series yesterday after loving the anime. One of my all time favorites. It hits all of the checkmarks of things I enjoy about a fantasy or sci fi series, it isn’t about the fighting or anything it is about the characters and it stays true to what their motivations are. It is absolutely wonderful to read a fun fantasy story about likeable characters just living their somewhat normal and relaxed lives. I cannot wait for the rest to be translated and hope this series goes on for a very very long time. Absolutely wonderful, heartwarming, and fun.

would have been five stars but

They put another stupid side story right in the middle of the main story. Even though this time it had to do with the story it still should have been at the end of the book would’ve gotten five star had that happened but it makes me have to stop reading and swipe through several pages

Volume 6 is the first part of what looks like is going to be a 2 part arc, a quick entertaining read on the slow life and romance of Red and Rit and how the outside world has a tendency to intrude. Most of the trouble solving is left to Ruti and Tisse, giving the reader an opportunity to learn a bit more about our favourite assassin and some other characters from previous volumes. Personally I love the slow paced slice of life part of the story, but there is little apparent development towards the overarching plot in regards to demon king and the nature of blessing. All in all, a good read and really curious about the next part.
