Millionaire Matchmaker #5

More Than Her Ex-Husband

Rate this book
One ex-husband. Two weeks. And a bet leading to some very questionable decisions.
Carolina Kline built an empire out of relationship advice—step one, dump the loser. And no one was more qualified to say that than the woman who walked out on her husband hours after their Vegas vows. She even turned that heartbreak into a hit talk show. Closure, baby.

But now her ex is back—with a smug smile, a public bet, and a plan to win her back on national television. Charlie Wilson, self-proclaimed love guru and host of Two-Buck Chuck, needs to prove his controversial relationship advice actually works. His test subject? The only woman who’s ever called his bluff—and walked away.

All she has to do is fake a honeymoon with him for two weeks. If she’s still not convinced by the end, she wins a spot on a national show. If he wins… well, that’s complicated.

Because Charlie didn’t come to play. He came to win back his wife.

It’s business. It’s a social experiment. It’s absolutely not going to end with her falling for him all over again. It’s all totally under control…

Right up until he kisses her like he never stopped loving her.

More Than Her Ex-Husband is a clean, fiery enemies-to-lovers romance full of unresolved tension, hilarious bickering, and a take-no-prisoner game of laser tag.

I write romance novels starring swoon-worthy heroes that you can share with your daughter, the ladies at church and your grandmother without fear because my books never contain bad language, violence or adult content. I live in Texas where I’ve seen bobcats and beavers near my house, but sadly not one cowboy. I’m raising two mini-ninjas alongside the love of my life who cooks while I write, which is my definition of a true hero.

Come for the romance, stay for the happily ever after. My books will make you laugh, cry and swoon–cross my heart.

Thank you Ms. Kross for Carolina’s story!

Carolina has been a favorite character of mine in this series and I am so excited for her story.

I started a bit upset that it’s about her and her ex-husband. My thought was what about Hugo, the dreamy English billionaire, the only man she ever showed interest in. Well I’m happy to report Ms. Kross handled that relationship wonderfully.

I also was biased against Charlie, like really dude you had your chance...again, this was me jumping to conclusions and judging a story by its bio. He’s seriously great. Patience and long suffering are his greatest attributes...although his arms aren’t anything to shrug about either.

This is a sweet romance that doesn’t skimp on the romance just the vulgarity. Fun story.

I liked this one. More depth than you might expect from so short a book, but definitely a relationship you can root for.

Talk about fun

These two take on the ultimate challenge. Remarry and see if love actually has a chance when she doesn’t give love a second thought. She has based her thoughts and feelings on the fact her father walked out on her mum and ultimately on her. Now she won’t let any man ever have that opportunity again. But what happens when there is a man out there who loves her despite her prickles and thorns, will she give him a chance, a second chance. Only time will tell.

Very enjoyable

Charlie Wilson was devastated when his marriage to Carolina was over before it even began. Almost a year later  Charlie has an advice show where he's developed a set of relationship tools and he's ready to prove to his toughest critic, his ex-wife Carolina, that his platform works. And what better way than a bet to convince Carolina that he can win her back.

Carolina Kline believes the only thing a man is capable of changing is his socks and she professes as much daily on her advice show. When her ex challenges her to a second wedding and a two week honeymoon to prove his theory Carolina believes she can't lose the bet. But something doesn't feel quite right; Carolina just can't put her finger on it.

Charlie and Carolina will struggle through a second attempt at marriage, one of them determined to prove it won't last, and the other trying to prove it will. All in the name of a bet. But does Charlie have ulterior motives?

I received a review copy and freely offer this review.

I purchased a copy of the clean novel Fake Marriage To Her Ex-Husband (Uptown Brides: a Sweet Romance Series Book 5): Carolina and Charles by Kat cantrell aka Kacy Cross and this review was given freely. An fast paced opposites attract battle of wills, a struggle with trust and a two week bet to gain revenge, the title of superiority and a TV show. Tired of being single and yet disillusioned with marriage for herself, the pithy and outspoken radio advice host and matchmaker Carolina Kline is learning the ropes of a live show while finding herself attracted to the Vivo complex's billionaire owner Hugo but at the same time she can't forget her first love, her on air rival Two-Buck Chuck aka her ex husband Charlie Wilson.

This book didn't quite do it for me personally. I felt that a huge part of the story was jut missing or it was all over the place and not handled well. The podcast, the bet, the third act reunion when she realizes what has happened etc, all weren't closed cleanly and it felt like the whole book they were going in circles and things were repetitive including "oh are we doing this for us or for the bet/podcast stuff".

Feel good story.

Second chance. Could have gone into more detail about Carolina’s emotional issues. However, it is a short story. Very easy to read.

If you want a good, clean, feel good, fight for what you want romance. Look no farther. I was given this series for my honest review and after looking it up and knowing that the series links but doesn’t necessarily NEED to be in order. I read this one first. And honestly, I can not wait to read the rest and get to know these connected characters more.

Married to Her Ex

Sweet and clean romance about two Ex's who agree to remarry for two weeks. This book was good but the previous ones in the series were better.

Fake Marriage To Her Ex husband

This book was okay. I personally found the book a bit irritating. Carolina was a psychologist that had an internet show where she have advice. Her advice were on relationships but she always told the women to leave before it got worse. She never encouraged them to try and work things out. Charlie is a psychologist as well and Carolina's ex-husband. He gave relationship advice as well but his advice was always try to work things out. The one thing that Charlie really wanted was his ex-wife back.
This story is about a bet that Charlie and Carolina made and how they each approach their relationship with each other.
