Pressing matters and a trail of deception. Can Alex pick apart the mystery before she's pinned?

With one misadventure after another, Alex Bailey is determined to iron out her troubles and find the common thread to steer her life back on track. Returning to normalcy is the best way to mend her frayed nerves, and the charity Quilt-A-Thon is the perfect distraction. What Alex doesn’t expect is more of Nona’s ploys.

Mysterious deliveries, unexpected clues, and an old murder have weaved a troublesome web and Alex is tangled in the middle!

The quilters uncover an unexpected secret On Spruce Street—one that can’t be covered up with an artistic motif. While one mystery is solved, another (deadly) pattern emerges.

Can Alex piece together the pattern, or will someone she loves be pinned for the crime?

Wow Alex's Nona sure had lotsa secrets and hidden letters to Alex as we found out in the second book, but this one wasn't much different where that was concerned. There were some bones discovered on land Nona owned, and Alex just hoped against all hope she didn't find out her Nona was some kind of crazed killer, which I'm pretty sure she wasn't. She was fox-clever though as Alex, Hawk and the friends on Spruce Street found out!

Meanwhile, Alex hosted the quilting retreat which was fairly non-eventful but did introduce a new character that everyone seemed to like a lot. I tried to go borrow the next book from KU and found out it's not coming out until April. At least since I binged through the second and third books, I feel I've got a better handle on the story line than I did when I read book 1 then didn't get back to the series for a while. I do still recommend reading in order though since I believe the series was designed that way.

Quilting Cozy Mystery Series:
Set 1, #1, #2 & #3 - Having both Set 1 and some of the individual books, I was happy to have three books to binge on from a new (to me) author. That feeling did not last long. None of these books are standalones and story lines are left unfinished. Pressing is actually part of a book; maybe number four completes three? I won't find out. This series is typical, average Cozy Mystery genre. I stuck with these books since they were part of a contest. Yep, I put myself in this position. 3*

Sewing Suspicion, #1 - Good story lines. Good characters but some actions and thoughts aren't realistic. I did losing focus about the last third of the story. 3*

Quilting Calamity, #2 - The start of the cruise adventure should have been interesting but the more I read, the more I found other things to do. I was bored. 3*

Pressing Matters, #3 - Unfortunately to get to the end of this story, you need the next book. Yep, cliffhanger. I scanned this book since I had major attention difficulties reading books two and three. 3*

I am really sorry I just don't see the point of this book, it just wasn't for me and in fact I struggled to finish it. So disappointed. Which is a shame because I enjoyed the previous books but nothing happens in this one. The murder doesn't get solved and unlike the previous books where you learnt a little bit more about the big mystery, what Noona was up to, you just got more questions. I can't even say I liked the characters because all they did was sew, eat or argue. Even Noona's manipulations was what? With no real reason for the statute it just seemed narcissistic. I hope the next book starts to answer some questions because otherwise I might be giving up on the series.

Quilts and mysteries!

I’m learning quite a bit about quilting reading these books! It seems Nona left some surprises to be found and, or received after she died. Alex, her dog Kibbles and Hawk are trying hard to solve them, one being a murder and a new set of discovered bones in the forest. Great characters and a fine plot are sure to keep you entertained. There might even be some romance! I received a free copy of this book from the author and write this review voluntarily.

Although I finished this book in a day, it wasn’t quite as good as the previous ones in this series. It was missing some of the suspense at the climax of a typical cozy mystery, although there were numerous threads in mysteries throughout the book. Hence 4 out of 5 stars. Still worth the read and looking forward to the next one in the series.

Mysteries galore

This is the 3rd book in a series. I have read the previous two, which is needed to understand the characters. I couldn’t remember how Hawk figured into the story. Lots of clues, a bit of solution, then cliffhanger ending. I will be reading the next book to see what happens. Lots of unfinished business and questions.

So many questions

It's been interesting to see what Nona had been up to. So many revelations, but they've led to more questions. This story has pulled me in and I can't put it down. Great plotting and characters.

This is book three in The Quilting Cozy mystery series; love the older and younger quilters. Even though Nona is gone, she is still showing up everywhere. Will Alexa and everyone get all the answers soon?

The continuing saga of Alex and her she sort of finds out why someone may want to kill her. There are still some loose threads to unravel or quilt together, not sure which, but, I’m hoping to find out soon!

Ninja spy Nona?

A wonderful installment in the Cozy Quilting mysteries. While the stakes didn’t seem quite as harrowing for Alex in this book this one is can’t miss as it moves the storyline on fabulously and makes you wonder exactly what is going on?

Alex finds a few more clues to the mystery Nona left behind. But they only raise more questions than answer. Either way the quilt-a-thon must go on and since they needed a place she has it at her house. It is the first time everyone will be there again since Nona's death.

Loved the quilt-a-thon, but the Nona mysteries were just meh, and the book ended in the middle of the resolution…. This series feels like it should have been maybe just 3 novels and not novellas, but I’m enjoying the characters and the quilting theme,so I’ll keep reading!
