Gracie Garcia’s mission has always been to help immigrants like herself, and with her English as a Second Language school, she is able to impact the Port Provident Community in a meaningful way. When real estate development plans pushed forward by Jake Peoples, a member of the island’s most powerful family, threaten to shut down the school, Gracie hopes that getting Jake to attend a class will change his mind. But when a secret about Jake’s past becomes the talk of Port Provident, he may not be able to save Gracie’s school—or himself. Will love—the universal language—help Jake save her dream…and his place in her heart?
This book was originally published as Saving Gracie.
USA Today Bestselling Author Kristen Ethridge loves watching waves at the beach, eating the perfect taco, and reading books that leave her with a smile. Some would say her superpower is keeping alive one husband, three children, and six guinea pigs during their adventures across Texas--but that's not entirely true. She actually earned her sparkly cape for writing her signature style of Sweet Escape Romances--stories with hope, heart and happily-ever-after--for Harlequin's Love Inspired line, Hallmark Publishing, and Laurel Lock Publishing. One reader (who wasn't her mother) called Kristen's books "very good escape fiction" and that's pretty much the nicest thing anyone's ever said to her.
Language of Love is a compelling story of family, community, and faith. The plot flows smoothly with some surprising twists and a major revelation that rocks one character’s world! The characters are well-crafted and engaging. It was delightful to reconnect with some characters from other books set in Port Provident and meet new ones. I love Gracie. With her strong determination and faith, she is the perfect person to help Jake get his life back on track. I greatly appreciate the strong faith thread that is woven throughout the story emphasizing what is really important in life and trusting in God’s plan. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher with no obligation to write a positive review.
This is my second novel for ms. Kristen I’m an English instructor! So i understand how Gracie felt when she was about to lose her students and her school. I was sad when i lost mine ! I still don’t understand how this hate-love situation wins at the end maybe i missed something, even though was alot of ups and downs from Jake and he gave up many times , i do love when the pastor said to Gracie at the end ( you came to this city for a reason ) that’s hit me in a positive way and gave me a little hope on when i stand ! Many love and thanks
In this book you’ll read about Jake who comes home after his father’s death. Also you’ll read about Gracie who is teaching adults how to speak English and how to manage their jobs. When Gracie finds out that her school might be closed down and Jake is involved she is scared of losing everything. Reading about the struggles that both of them go through will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next.
The characters were well crafted and the ups and downs of the plot were enjoyable. I loved how the little misunderstandings and assumptions turned the story and emotions this way and that.
This free book made me think about family relationships and the struggle and work ethic of Mexican immigrants in Texas. Faith weaves its way through the book and together with love heals 2 damaged people.
Brilliantly elegant story of pure, ardent love for their rightly cherished companion, as well as for their loving, caring, protective, and benevolent family and people in general!
