From a young age, I followed the rules set for me, being the good girl and never wanting to feel the painful sting of rejection. I thought all my wishes had come true, but everything changed in an instant, and I was forced to see the harsh and ugly realities of life. I ran from everything I knew, vowing a life alone was better than living under the control of others.
My new life wasn’t perfect, but it was mine. Forged with sweat and tears, I built something I could be proud of, but I still kept people at a distance. I existed but never truly lived. The moment I saw him, I knew he was different. His haunting eyes told me he wasn’t scared of the darkness that resided within me.
He pushed through the walls I built around myself and taught me that love was real, giving me the strength to face my nightmares and step out of the darkness. The Death Hounds showed me what family was and that loyalty was valued above everything. When I decided to stop running and fight, they stood beside me, proving that family was who you chose.
But then he betrayed me and sent me back down a path of dark nightmares and into a life of silence. Now, he’s fighting for both of us, showing me that his words of devotion were true. When he discovers the secrets I’ve been carrying, will he still see me the same, or will he push me away and force me back into solitude?
Never again will I make a wish. It may come true, but at what cost?
H.J. Marshall began her love of reading and writing at an early age and has always dreamed of being a writer full time. A nomadic youth exposed her to different perspectives of life, community, and culture, resulting in a lifelong love of food, music, and history. When she is not writing, she enjoys the music of all generations and genres, reading, and living in her cabin in the woods. Currently landlocked, H.J. dreams of her beach house, salty air, a life filled with laughter.

This is the second book in this amazing series and is Dalton / Skid and Grace’s story. Skid is a member of the MC, but he has a job developing security software, and when he sees something on a thumb drive, he sets out to track down the woman on it to ensure that she is doing ok. Grace has a family of which nightmares are made of, but she is strong and escapes that life to live in solitude. When Skid walk into the bar which Grace works at there is an instant attraction between them, but Grace has built walls up around her heart and does not trust easily but will Skid be able to break down her walls and gain her trust. This is a well written emotional roller coaster which is filled with loyalty, family, heartbreak, secrets, trust, vengeance, and love, which leads to a steamy and touching riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Skid is a man obsessed with taking out those who would hurt young girls, which isn't surprising to be honest (but I'll never tell). This leads him to Grace, a woman who was in a foster home that fit that bill, and he needed to know if she was alright after all this time. Little did he know that he was going to meet the woman who would be his forever, and Grace felt the pull immediately as well. However, with her past, she doesn't trust easily so it's a journey that goes slow, speeds up, and slows down again. Just when things are really good for them, she learns how her past is linked to his life, not to mention, she finds out that he knew who she was all along so she feels deeply betrayed all over again. These two are perfect for each other, but nothing worth having is ever easy, and their journey definitely isn't for the faint of heart. I'm trying to be as vague as I can be because I don't want to take away from this very intense story by giving things away, so really, just read the book for yourselves! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
What I love most about fiction is anything goes. Anything out of the realm of the norm can happen. The good, the bad and the ugly. That's what I truly love. That's the escape I look for. Author H.J. Marshall gave me that in spades and then some!
WOW! Skid by author H.J. Marshall is everything I hoped it would be and so much more. It's an incredibly powerful and at times painful story to read. It's a 5-Star Romance that delivers an amazing, unforgettable story that will stay with me for years to come. My favorite book by this author to date.
She delivers a "Hero" worthy of that title. A hero that would give his life for the one woman he covets, protects and loves even if it's from a distance, and worthy enough to be his obsession. Add to that a beautiful but broken, lost and troubled Heroine, the one woman who trusted him enough to open her heart, let down her guard to let him do just that.
We previously met Dalton in Gunner, book one in the Death Hounds series. Since then, he's become a patched member of the Death Hounds MC and given the road name Skid.
Skid or I should say the author attacked my heart again and again. Man, she kept poking the bear. The mama bear in me that wanted nothing better than to wrap my mama bear arms around Grace and keep her safe from harm. Safe from the wolves in sheep's clothing. Safe from the predators, the scum that needed to be extinguished from this earth.
Skid was Grace's dark knight. A man who vowed to slay all her dark demons. Sending each and every one of the jackals straight back to hell where they all came from. But of course they will suffer greatly for their sins before departing this life.
Skid had a sweet tooth for yummy confections. That included a certain woman he dedicated his life to that loved to bake. A taste of her would be a sweet reward at the end of the day. But for now, he'd settle for keeping a close watch on her and bide his time until she was ready.
OMG the atrocities that were bestowed upon a little girl named Grace Parker were utterly depraved, unforgivably despicable and so terribly cruel it brought me to tears. It's so unfathomable that it cut me to my core and left me bleeding.
Even years later after she ran for her life, ran towards freedom, toward a safe haven with no familial ties and most importantly, to a place where "THEY" couldn't find her, she is so affected by what happened to her, and rightly so. To this day she is still very vulnerable, frightened, and untrusting. Not to mention her lack of any self worth due to all the betrayal in her young life.
A little girl's dreams turn into an unimaginable nightmare. Her world is turned upside down where she fell and landed hard in her new world of filth. Where the lowest form of depravity resides. She's faced with what can only be described as a sickening betrayal beyond measure. But she didn't know. She had no understanding of what being a good girl to daddy really meant.
An innocent little girl with hopes and wishes of being wanted, accepted and loved in a family ends with the rug being ripped from underneath her little self where her 12 year-old life suddenly spirals into madness. Madness no child should ever be subjected to.
The twisted perversions, and depraved indifference to Grace as a child would prove to be the perpetrator/s undoing if Skid had any say about it. And make no mistake, THEY... WILL... PAY! I got great joy and satisfaction to have witnessed their descent back into the bowels of hell where they belonged.
How did Skid come to know Grace Parker? Well, I just can't give that away. But years after her nightmare ended information became available to Skid that hit close to home and he made it his mission to find this woman, make sure she is okay and living the life she deserved. Feeling safe, accepted and loved. Anything less was completely unacceptable. He would hunt down and destroy the ones responsible for her past and her present life and give her a future worthy of her.
Their connection is so strong that she can't understand why. To quote the book, "He cared deeply, loved fiercely, and was protective to a fault." I couldn't have said it better myself.
With the help of Grace's best friend Eddie who helped her and took her in years before after running, who I just adored so much and of course Skid, she slowly comes out of her shell, out of the darkness only to fall victim again once more. The difference this time is that her man Dalton was there to bear witness and that could have deadly consequences. That event has him reaching out to a friend for help.
Grace leaves with Skid and heads to Portstill where she meets Skid's family and brothers of the Death Hounds and starts to rebuild her life with him.
What will Grace do when the truth is revealed concerning Skid and how found her? Will she run from the man she trusted with her heart, who in her eyes betrayed her or will she stay and fight the demons that haunt her dreams by his side taking her life back? Hmm sorry no spoilers! But I'll give you a little hint...
HOLY SH.T! It's intense, suspenseful and nearly had my heart failing. Everybody steps up their game! It's one of my book favorites..
Then just when I thought things couldn't get any better, the author delivered the icing on this beautiful romance cake. She topped it off with one of my most favorite things in romance... and his name is Devlin Callahan. Yup! You heard me right. He's back and I'm tongue tied catching my breath all over again.
Devlin is still "taking out the trash" in the Portstill Flats in his own special Devlin way. And let me tell you he is still the swoonylicious, very dangerous, very deadly man who will slit the throat of any depraved demon who hurt the innocent without batting an eyelash. But don't you worry ladies and gents, he's still the drool-worthy man who lovingly softens when he's near his lamb.
We also catch up with his brother James as well. I mean hello!!! Holy heart stopper! Talk about heart palpitating testosterone overload to which I happily cheered on and said keep em coming!
Some of my favorite things about the book. I could go on and on on this subject. So many things I loved about the book and so much excitement. Here is a small sample.
* I loved the way Skid protected and loved Grace. As he put it, when he's around Grace he is nothing but a marshmallow. He really is soft and gooey on the inside but make no mistake, he's as tough as they come and you wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of his wrath and rage when provoked. He's chivalrous all the way.
* Eddie. I have no words to describe him. He's a gift that was sent by the heavens to be her guardian angel. What he did for Grace?... He's a hero in his own right.
* Devlin. The madman of the Portstill Flats returns and I loved how he didn't change one iota. He still gives me full on body shivers. Actually all the men in this book except for the demons, are a force to be reckoned with.
* Seeing the whole gang again and the way they embraced and welcomed Grace to the family. It moved me, the lengths they go to for family.
* A surprising badass fight or two. I was so freaking proud!
* Grace's enthusiasm when on the back of Skid's bike. You can't help but smile and giggle.
* An escape and a chase. The intense excitement and a harrowing getaway. This will get your heart pumping for sure.
* Favorite line in the book:
“If you ever put your hands on me again, God himself won’t know where to find you during the rapture.”
I think an honorable mention is in order for a girl named Kelly. That's all I can give you on that.
Favorite funny part: The interactions between Dalton and Rhys just cracked me up!
My #1 favorite part of this book: When two men fall to their knees. It was so unbelievably moving that I wept. I literally wept.
Skid is a perfect example of what romance and love is all about and is the very reason why I love to read romance, especially dark romance. Skid was her dark knight, riding in on his chrome and steel horse determined to save a woman he doesn't even know and Grace was his angel, HIS saving Grace and nobody else's. ... A match made in MC heaven.
The incredible love story that started out as a patient seedling in the distance grows into a beautiful, bountiful love by the second, by every word and page I turned.
I've always loved the author's writing style. She never disappoints. She's eloquently descriptive down to the minute details and I always felt I was right there in the scenes with the characters. She transported me right smack dab in the pages of this book and straight into Portstill.
By the time I tapped the very last page and my heart beat returned to its normal pace I felt so rewarded. My mind, my heart, and my soul felt complete. So, I took a deep breath. A very satisfying breath. I understood what Grace must have felt by the end of the story. Hopeful, healed and happy. Thankful that she took a chance on love. On the one man who helped her slay her demons and showed her what love is all about. Showered and blanketed her with that love. So swoony.
Contrary to my lengthy review, when I reached the end I was left speechless and in awe. I have no idea how H.J. Marshall put it all together but it is FREAKING BRILLIANT! If you have read the Embattled Dreams series as well as this series, you will understand what I'm referring to. If not, you should get on it pronto. Read these series'.
Go along the harrowing road with twists you won't see coming. There are many of those too. One twist, one secret that took me completely by surprise involving ties to the past. The ties that bind in this twist had me grinning from ear to ear and fist bumping the air. Skid has the worst of the worst villains and the best of the best heroes... So many heroes. Even better, they are growly heroes! To the likes which I've never seen and glad I did here in this book.
The ending was magnificent!
Join Grace and Dalton, as well as Eddie and the rest of the gang on their amazing journey towards discovering love, healing and family. Believe you me, this powerful 5-star romance is worth it! It will leave you crying happy tears. At least it did for me.
Dark subject matter with possibility of triggers. Grace went through a great deal. Skid was supportive but stalkerish in the beginning. Lots of coordinating parts with the characters
Want a book that will give you serious book hangover?? Well this one will do it. Grace and Skids story was so well done. You got to see the sweet side of Skid when dealing with Grace, while seeing Grace fierce side come out when needed. This story gave me all the feels. I can't wait for more in this series.
OH MY GOODNESS! This story is absolutely gutwrenching. Grace's journey is completely heartbreaking and had me all up in my feelings. She's endured so much and thanks to Skid and the Callahan boys she won't suffer anymore. This story is beautifully written and oh my goodness will it ever touch your heart.
As always H.J. absolutely killed it. After escaping her abusive past Garce led a life of solitude. No longer able to trust her own judgement, she refused to let anyone get close to her. That is until Skid showed up in the bar she worked at. Now she has to deside if she can trust him enough to tell him about her past
Skid, aka Dalton, is a member of the Death Hounds M.C. who also works for Devlin and James developing security software. While helping them by sorting though the thub drive James sister’s gave them form her past, he stumbled across another girl who was hurt by the same man as her. He knew he had to find her and make sure she was okay even with it being years later. Little did he know she would capture his heart.
Can he not only win her trust but her heart, or will the secrets he holds drive her away?
This book perfectly ties the Embltted Dreams series in with the Death Hounds series, as well as answers a lot of questions. I absolutely loved this story and can’twait for more. Here’sto hoping I get Needles story soon.
2.75 stars. This book started out strong, then kind of fizzled. Second half of the book had me skimming at times. Overall, it’s well written. I just wish some of the plot points were different. Let’s start with the scene at the club party where Grace had to threaten a club girl with violence. Pet peeve alert- when a big bad MC member can’t or won’t separate himself from a skanky ho (whom he probably had relations with in the past), that’s a huge negative. Grace shouldn’t of had to punch a woman to get her to back off Skid. Here’s the situation she observed before confronting the ho -“I turned back to the crowd to see one of the women pressed against Dalton’s side, rubbing her hands across his chest as he talked with someone. Confused, I watched as he said something to the woman, and she laughed, throwing her head back in delight.” Also, how dare Sadie act like Grace is responsible for curbing this behavior. Here’s what she recommends Grace do- “Can I give you some advice? From someone who’s sat where you are?” I nodded, feeling sick to my stomach as she continued. “If I were you, I’d stake my claim before my stupid brother does something even stupider.” How can you trust a man like this? What happens when he’s at the club without you? What if he gets drunk or stoned or just had an argument with Grace, would he fall victim to an aggressive club girl if Grace wasn’t there to stop it? I HATE this dynamic.
Also, Skid is a cyber security/coder/programmer extraordinaire. Yet, not only does he not put password protection on the thumb drive with the video of Aubrey’s abuse, he also isn’t tracking Grace’s phone. So when she bolts after viewing the thumb drive, he has to enlist Devlin to help. When Devlin asks why he didn’t put tracking software on her phone, Skid claims he didn’t want to invade her privacy. Dude, you installed cameras inside her home, car and are tracking her car navigation without her knowledge. I’m pretty sure that privacy ship has sailed.

Wow! This was one heartfelt, heart-wrenching read. Talk about an emotional read that goes straight to one's heart.
We loved the characters, and we loved that Grace and Skid they made a beautiful couple. Grace had suffered so much pain since she was twelve years old and years later her past still haunts her. Grace was a survivor and brave and strong and a little warrior. We loved the fact also that she was sweet and kind and loving, even if a bit broken. We loved her from the moment we met her. She deserves and a man able to kept her safe as well as slay her demons and Skid in the regard is perfect for her in every way.
We loved Skid also we loved how he was with Grace, always careful with her trying to gain her trust and mindful of her past her took their courtship slowly. We loved that. Loved seeing the sweet and kind and loving side of Skid, all knowing he is also can be a very dangerous man. Loved how he interacted with Grace, the moments together were so sweet it melted your heart. The chemistry between the two was hot.
Overall, this was one heck of an emotional tale. We loved that twist at the end, we didn't see that coming. Even though the plot is fiction, it felt very real. At every turn, the people who were supposed to protect Grace failed her and by sheer determination she succeeded in changing her situation, the damage had already been done. The sad truth, there are so many children that have been in Graces place or situation and more people to beware. The character's in this story were awesome, and we loved that there were avengers what for justice for these women when the system and humanity failed them. Loved of a good man is exactly what Grace needed to look toward to the future and perhaps heal her once and for all. We loved it!
Skid is one of the best book that I have read since the new year and I can't urge readers to read it enough. With this book we truly see what love is really about. Love, besides being hearts and flowers, is passionate, raw, lustful and absolutely overwhelming... Love is also selfless, accepting each other with our flaws and demons, just being somebody hero.
This book through Dalton (Skid) and Grace will take you through an unbelievable, heartwrenching ride. Skid is the quiet yet underrated hero who has vow to be Grace's hero, shining knight. Ever since meeting Grace, Skid has made his mission to protect Grace, to slay her demons, dull the pain so visible in her eyes..... rekindle her light. Grace, on the other, has gone through the wringer. She has been through unimaginable hurt and pain, the things she saw...... Her life has been nothing but a nightmare.
Meeting Dalton is her salvation, her chance at life, live. But what happens when the past comes knocking. Is Grace strong enough to withstand the storm.......... Will Skid finally lose her to her unrelenting demons??
I voluntarily submitted an ARC review for this book.
Dalton went to find Grace to see if she was doing okay after he discovered some very troubling things that she went through during her time in foster care. The sad thing about that she was brainwashed by her sadistic foster dad and also realized at the age of sixteen, that she needed to get out so she ran away and was helped by her friend Kelly, who got her to someone that could help her. Dalton, Devlin and James discovered this group of sick and depraved men ran a cult like group called The Community that took young girls and trained them to be good wives for adult men. The club along with Devlin and James went to the home of the president of this group and also realized they had another little girl that they were getting ready to prep with their disgusting ways, so they got the girl out and killed every evil piece of scum in that house and oops there was an electrical fire. Needles was in with the rescue and the little girl Iris clung to him. A few twist and turns throughout the story, but I think we will learn more in Needles book. Happy reading.
I loved this story of Grace and Dalton (Skid). Their paths crossed in an unconventional way, but Skid knew as soon as he saw Grace that he wanted more with her than slaying her dragon and laying her demons to rest. The only problem is that he wasn't up front with her in the beginning and she doesn't trust easily due to her past.
This was a tragic story that brought healing, revealed secrets, and led to Grace finding a real family that cared for her and would protect her at all costs. The characters were dangerous and great! This was my first read of H. J. Marshall's books, but it won't be the last. I loved the way she told this story and her ability to keep the reader interested waiting for the shoe to drop or for Grace to find out the secret Skid was keeping from her. I loved the characters and the story and I give it a 5-star review. I purchased the first book so that I can go back and read it, but I also put the Embattled Dreams Series on my wish list so that I can get those and read them as well.
It was so nice to return to the Death Hounds MC. I could not put Skid down. Parts of this book are heartbreaking and other parts are happy. This book is more serious due to the content being addressed and my emotions were all over the place. Skid and Grace are perfect together. Their meeting was far from conventional, but it needed to happen the way it did. Grace survived something horrific and therefore was hesitant to trust in love or anyone for that matter, except Eddie. Skid tracks Grace down to make sure she is OK and he falls for her instantly. He is very persistent in his pursuit of Grace. I love how protective he is when it comes to Grace and the fact that Grace is so strong even if she doesn't feel like it. She can definitely handle herself. She is very skeptical of Skid. Will she give Skid a chance? You will have to read to find out what really happens. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series.
When Skid looks into a flash drive the Callahan brothers gave him he was sickened and needed to find if there was any others, that's when he finds Grace and her whereabouts and needed to make sure she was safe, seeing her that first time though, he knew that she was who he wanted but he had to tread carefully.
Grace grew up in a foster home that wasn't what she thought it was. Finding out brought shame and she ran away. Now ten years later, though she still fights her demons, she's picked herself up and is happy. When Skid comes into the bar where she works, it takes a few weeks but he gradually knocks down her walls and she goes back to his home town with him.
All is well until it isn't and the secret Skid was keeping comes out and Grace deflates and runs.
Well well well…. Ready for another rollercoaster? Hold on to your leather vests and let’s get it started. Skid by H.J. Marshall, a continuation of her MC series. I’ve not found any reason not to love her books, they just pull you in… the realism, the grit, the feelings… you name it you got it. I think that’s why her books call to me. She’s not afraid to shy away from RL stuff, and show things can get better. But… I’m going off on another subject.
Skid and Grace…. Phew! You have a man ready to kill demons that are in your past, and you have a woman that’s been through so much, it’s hard to believe good things will come. The push and pull between these two are… wow. I never go into to much detail, because you HAVE to read it, in order to get it. Just know, that you need to be ready to cry, laugh, scream, and maybe punch something.
So yes! I recommend that you read Skid by H.J. Marshall. This is part of a series, so feel free to read her prior work also.
Working for Callahan Cyber Security Skid has access to all kinds of technology, some in which he had a part in creating. When he sees something on his boss's thumb drive he's determined to make sure the woman is okay. Little did he know what waited for him. Grace was put in foster care when she was a small child after the death of her family. All she wanted was to be loved. She didn't realize until years later that she had been brainwashed and abused since she was twelve. On the run at sixteen she vanished. With the help of friends she is living in solitude but still looks over her shoulder in case they come looking for her. When Skid shows up at the bar where Grace is working he is enamored by the tray swinging woman. Grace doesn't trust easily but was willing to give him a chance until he betrayed her. Tragedy, heartbreak, betrayal, secrets, trust, family and love will keep you intrigued in this emotional read.
Skid has the MC and his job. The club isn't happy with his association but understands his reasons and allows it. Finding and ridding the world of scum -- the kind that has affected women they love is a worthy effort. Not only that, it is how he meets Grace and changes his life.
She thought she'd never have a man she could trust. Is Dalton one? Few people know her past. She doesn't share. When he finds her it's to get information but changes when they find a draw that can't be ignored. She's strong but he swears to protect her.
The story is a touching romance, a look into an evil world, loyal brothers and family, vengeance, plenty of steam, amazing characters, and a story you won't forget. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
Wow! What an amazing ride with this story, so emotional and intense. I loved how Skid never gave up and he knew from the beginning that Grace would be his. Grace she went through so much and had so much to overcome. This story was beautifully written without sensationalizing the events, which was so hard to read. I highly recommend this story, author and series.
~~~~~~~~~~Julie's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Skid is so determined to make Grace see that she can trust him. He never gives up and that says everything about him. Grace hasn’t had it easy but she has fought for everything. Excellent read with a heartwarming storyline. Excellent series.
After escaping her abusive past Garce led a life of solitude. No longer able to trust her own judgement, she refused to let anyone get close to her. That is until Skid showed up in the bar she worked at. Now she has to deside if she can trust him enough to tell him about her past. Grace's journey is completely heartbreaking and had me all up in my feelings. She's endured so much and thanks to Skid and the Callahan boys she won't suffer anymore. I really enjoyed seeing the couples from her past stories come back to visit. Although, I do have some new questions that have emerged after reading this book, I'm sure they will be addressed on future work.
The book has everything a great MC book has. We get a heart wrenching story that will pull you in from the very first page. This author does a great job pulling you into this world with her amazing writing. Skid is an OTP alpha male who will do whatever it takes to protect those who need protecting. When he meets out tenacious headstrong heroine Grace their road is anything but smooth. They both have pasts and well Grace's past is not one of luxury. She has endured many things and feels like she can not trust her own decision making anymore. Question becomes can she trust what her heart says? OR Will she listen to her head? Looking forward into seeing what is going to happen next.
Skid has been my I need to know more since his na.e was spoken. He did not disappoint. He is truly an incredible man. Dark, hot, devoted and everything that makes a heart melt.
Grace is tough. Hiding behind the tough exterior she built to survive. She's been given nothing but lies her whole life and she doesn't give her heart away, until Skid stepped in and took it.
But with his life comes secrets and one thing Grace can't forgive is as rest and lies. She already feels enough shame and she won't let her past win even if that means going up what her heart craves.
Dalton and Grace’s story was anything but easy. In fact, some of it was downright rough. The things that Grace endured, the things she saw, the nightmares that haunted her? It hurt my heart that she suffered so much.
I always knew Dalton would be a stand up guy - I mean, he had to be, if he was going to be the one to bring her out of her shell again.
I absolutely loved the way H.J. fused all the little puzzle pieces together. We finally got all of the answers we had been waiting for. All of those little parts where you just knew the stories were connected but couldn't figure out how? Crystal clear.
I really enjoyed seeing the couples from her past stories come back to visit. Although, I do have some new questions that have emerged after reading this book, I'm sure they will be addressed in future work.
What a fantastic story and totally worth the wait!! I have been super curious about Skid since he was introduced to us and HJ Marshall did not disappoint at all. She gave us a definite page turner, one that you can't put down yet don't want it to end. Dalton, a.k.a. Skid, and Grace had an instant connection that, despite everything else, drew them together. Their story was full of drama, horrific events, lots of love, steam and action. Their book was everything I was hoping for and then some. A definite must read!
Wow!! What a story. This was heartbreakingly one of the best. Skid and Grace’s story was one that I couldn’t put down. Is it possible to overcome past events that boke you to come out on the other end? Grace was a strong woman and Skid was going to be there to protect no matter what.
This addition to the Hell Hounds MC series is definitely a one click book. Make sure you set some time aside because you won’t be able to put it down.
My second book from this author and I'm hooked. How vile that pedophiles exist in this world is beyond me. This book can also be a trigger if abuse upsets you. But the gentleness in which the author handled the trauma Grace went through is just amazing. Everyone in this world should open their eyes and see. Books to me is sometimes a reality. Child abuse is that. I absolutely recommend this book. Thank you for a great read.
After stumbling upon Gunner, I have continued the journey with Skid. The characters are so genuine, this book had me laughing, crying and cheering. Grace is a strong yet completely believable character in her grief and worries. Definitely don’t sleep on the series. The writer definitely has the ability to pull on your heart strings and keep you wanting to know what is Next.
Have your tissues ready for this emotional journey. Grace’s story is heart-wrenching and heartbreaking. Skid is a member of the Death Hounds MC and his brothers have his back even though his job is a sore spot for them. He is a confirmed bachelor along with all these alpha men, that is until he meets Grace. She thought she could never trust men again and he thought he would never fall for someone. Can she trust this broody biker? Will secrets be unearthed that will destroy her?
I love how quickly these strong men fall in love with these women. I love how the author doesn't depict these women as being irrevocably broken. Thank you for shinning a bright light on the ugliness that exist In the world. It breaks my heart that while i lay reading this book there are people suffering from cruelty In this world.
