FUNdamentals of Parenting: 12 Fun Strategies to Build Strong Family Relationships

The best compliment I can give Jaime's work is I'm going to make this required reading for all parents who walk through my door. No joke. Required reading.
- Jon Filitti, LMHC, Filitti Counselling

I hate Jaime Buckley because he wrote the book every therapist should be writing.

While reading through it I kept thinking to myself, "I'm the therapist here! I should have written this!"

You see, Jaime does something in this book which is almost utterly impossible to do. (Which is why I didn't attempt it.)

He wrote a book about parenting that is informative and educational. But more than that, and this is the difficult part, it's concise and entertaining.

What? How did he do that?

He wrote a book about parenting that takes less than 2 hours to read and packed it full of interesting ideas, tips and tricks and the "musts" of parenting.

While never getting preachy or pompous.

Turn the page.

You're about to knock your family's happiness out of the park.

I really enjoyed reading your parenting book! I loved your honest and insightful family wisdom and vulnerability you shared throughout the book. Instead of checklists alone on what to do and not do, the love for your family and the real relationship building that you share becomes an inspiring spirit of joy that is contagious and gives hope and happiness to raising a family in this crazy world where the family is under attack.

This book had some great ideas of how to have fun with your family and learn a few things along the way. I feel like the book lacked depth...others' experiences of trying these things, hence the loss of a star, but for a quick read, this book at least made me think of how some of these situations play out in my own family and how I can improve, which was the whole point.

I really enjoyed this book! His 12 points are basic but powerful. If families want to bring love back to their homes and have true friendships, apply the principles he gives here and you will have it. Jamie, the author, is down to earth and with all his experience with 13 children, who could be more qualified. I'm excited to apply some of his principles with my family.

I really enjoyed this book. I like that it was concise, but that he had real suggestions not just vague generalities. The 12 strategies were specific and included examples implementing those strategies - which I found very helpful. I think every parent can benefit from this book.
