Author, illustrator & father of 12, Jaime writes YA Fantasy and focuses his efforts on his online creation Wanted Hero which caters to readers.

"I’ve always wanted to do something famous. Never wanted to BE famous, mind you…just DO something famous.

Well that…and marry the prettiest girl in the world.

So after I found her, wooed her with my irresistible charm and married her, I got back to searching for that ‘famous’ thing to do.

It wasn’t until after I’d become a grandfather that my children explained, “You’ve been doing it all along.”

I’ve earned the titles of Author, Illustrator, Cartoonist, Game Designer, Dragon Lord, King Maker, Monster Hunter, Sliver Slayer, Trainer of Heroes, Breaker of Bridges, Smoker of Meats, Sucker of Slurpees,

It's the only way to get better at your craft and to keep the knives sharp so to speak.

How MUCH I write depends on the project. Articles for blogs are usually 1200 words or more in a sitting. I write between 1500-5000 words when I'm commenting on people's sites--because I love leaving serious comments (unlike "Great article, keep up the good work!")

*puke*

When I'm writing a book or even my adulting/parenting reports, that's a whole new level of focus. I'll sit down, prep my brain by doing a little reading of what was written the session before, maybe a bit of editing to work my way up to where I left off...

Then I write an average of 10,000 words of more. On a good day, I'll write 12K-15K words....and on writing retreats, I'll write even more. Really depends on the project--but I write the most when it's the Chronicles of a Hero series.

It flows without compulsory means. (less)

It's all about life and the experiences of life. Wanted Hero was created because of the personal struggles I had as a youth. I wanted to show other kids that they mattered and also to encourage them to reach for their dreams.

Life might be stranger than fiction, but fiction allows many writers to more accurately portray life to their readers.(less)

“There comes a moment in every life when the Universe presents you with an opportunity to rise to your potential. An open door that only requires the heart to walk through, seize it and hang on.
The choice is never simple. It’s never easy. It’s not supposed to be. But those who travel this path have always looked back and realized
that the test was always about the heart. ...The rest is just practice.”
Jaime Buckley, Prelude to a Hero

“Life has a complex plan that involves you and me.
While we dream, work and organize, life makes its own tweaks—and many times circumstances might not turn out as we hoped.
But life is not the enemy. It’s not against us. Life provides opportunities for growth and strength of character.
Stop fighting against your greatest ally.”
Jaime Buckley

“We will forever be vulnerable to the weaknesses in our own hearts and our selfish desires.”
Jaime Buckley, Hobin Luckyfeller's Fieldguide: Demoni Vankil

“There is no limit as to what we can learn. Through study, we can learn from the past. Experience can empower us to handle the present. For those who desire to learn of the future, dreams hold a subtle key.
Not all things we see, as we sleep, should be cast aside as non-consequential rubbish. It is true that the mind can play many tricks…but it can also send you messages meant to be deciphered at a later date.”
Jaime Buckley, The Truth About Lies

“I'd like to emphasize that when a reader finishes a great novel, he will immediately begin looking for another. If someone loves your book, it increases the chance that he or she will look at mine. So there is no competition between writers. Another writer's success helps build a larger readership for all of us.”
David Farland

“The invigorating energy in fresh-cut grass and cool, crisp chlorine filled Wendell’s nostrils as they lounged by the pool in Evan’s back yard. Looking past the back fence the wild grass bowed to the playful persuasion of the warm summer breeze and the corn lilies and columbines bounced their jeweled heads, laughing and teasing butterflies. Even the Cooper’s hawk atop a nearby fence post, content with feasting on a woodpecker knew, it was a perfect day.”
Jaime Buckley, Prelude to a Hero

“Nothing is truly free. Every gift has a price, paid for by someone in coin, favors, expectations or goods.
Things get a little sticky when Life shows up wanting to collect on something you thought was free.
Always ask the price.”
Jaime Buckley, Prelude to a Hero
