Wow, this volume was actually...nice! Nothing horrible happened...for the most part.

Basically Haru joins these kids to do some awesome kick the can game. See it's a game in this town where gotta...kick a can? It's similar to football. Either way the kids are upbeat and happy and don't judge Haru for what she is. Haru uses her sexiness to win the matches against the older boys and make them stunned out her sexy ass and tits, so it's a win win situation that's really fun.

Haru remains a excellent protagonist who is both funny and charming. One who enjoys her line of work (a sex worker) while also being affirmative and knowing what battles she could win. Even the sex scenes here are really well done and structured in a way I smiled instead of worrying if Haru would be abused.

Overall, a great volume. This series remains a big surprise that works almost all the time.

This middle volume is a sort of peaceful idyll in the series as Haru gets caught up playing in an athletic tournament and uses her sex appeal to distract her opponents. It's humorous, but at the same time her opponents are mostly tween boys so it's also skeevy. But that mix sort of epitomizes this series which constantly and casually mixes erotic fan service with denunciations of sexism and misogyny.

Also, Haru finds herself attracted to a mysterious stranger who only comes to the Blue Cat Nocturne brothel on rainy days.

By the end of the volume we start getting some hints of the true darkness to come, and I was worried the ending was going to get rushed because I thought this adaptation would wrap up in four volumes, but I see a fifth volume is coming to the English language in March 2023, so that seems like plenty of room to do the finale justice.

Another good volume.

Haru is the main protagonist and this is really sweet this volume because she, in another world of misogynistic and egotistical men, defies the odds and takes part in a kick the can tournament that was once for men.

She utilises her sex working skills (aka poses) as a tactic to lure the men and so the lads in the kick the can team can focus. She’s a brilliant character with lots of warmth and intellect.

Enjoyed this thoroughly.

This volume blew me away! As always, the art is beautiful and the writing is sensitive. At this point, the novelty of Haru's situation has worn off on both her in-universe, and to the reader, and we're getting more involved with the ins and outs of a fantasy world that I couldn't help but find parallels to our own; widespread misogyny, sex being simultaneously stigmatized and used as a survival tactic, and those in power wielding it with ulterior motives in a world where this is not just allowed, but normalized.

The fact that the setting is so different from our own makes what traits that ARE familiar to the reader all the more noticeable. The fact that Haru manages to not only survive, but to some extent, thrive and find meaningful connections and activities, brings a touching shade of light to the otherwise dark themes.

I'm gonna take my mind off of all this heavy stuff by seeing if there's any porn of her

haru’s kick the can chapters were so fun and also strangely sweet - I love that she could escape from the brothel for a bit, and that her team truly supported and cared for her!! we get a bit of the mysterious stranger (is he an alien..? lol why does he keep saying ‘humans’), plus some strong and handsome soldiers that are actually kind, thoughtful guys. it’s nice to see haru get a bit of actual pleasure for herself!! she then gets to bond a bit with kiyori (hope she wisens up and leaves that idiot chiba). the volume ends with a really creepy sinister centurion dude, who I just know is going to cause haru some trouble…

I know this is technically seinen, but I am still calling this honorary josei - you can tell the source material was marketed towards women, and it truly does feel more like it was written for women. I’m really enjoying this series!!

+Kick the can continues and I am sorry, but I absolutely loved seeing what Haru planned to win. Oh girl, if you got it flaunt it? Plus, the game was fun and I loved Haru with the boys. That old boss though, urgh.
+Cute soldiers and great sex, plus a new man appears at the bar/house and Haru tries to understand him more which I just loved, she really is a sweet girl.
+I had such a laugh at that chat with Kiyori and Haru. But I was happy that Kiyori trusted Haru so much to come chat with her about Chiba. Stupid Chiba. Treat your girl right.
+OH, no. A bad guy appears. At least, he feels like a bad guy and I feel like things are going to get very dark.

This was another great volume!

There's not much to say. I love this series as a whole and am finally able to catch up. I enjoyed seeing Haru taking part in everyday life and seeing how that life is always intertwined back to her profession. It was nice to see her enjoying herself in her work role as well. She's making the most of it and that's all we can ask of our girl "in another world". I picked up volumes 4 & 5 and I swear to god, Chiba better get his shit rocked. Not only for Haru but also for Kiyori too.

This series continues to be absolutely wonderful. The humor is none stop, however; there are some dark elements to this story that change the tone all together. I can't wait for the next volume.

3 ⭐️ I definitely didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first two books in this series. I wasn’t super engaged with the whole storyline with Haru joining the kick the can team. I get what it was trying to achieve in bringing her outside of the Blue Cat Nocturne, and having her partake in something that’s not work, as well as reminding us that she had her childhood taken from her after her death and coming to this new world as a SWer. But I feel like with this new story line we lost a lot of the development of other characters from the first 2 books that seemed to fall off in this one. I think it could have been done differently and it would have been more impactful?

I do love the series as a whole, and 100% want to continue on to see what happens to Haru! This one was just a bit underwhelming compared to Book 1 and 2.
