Well, that was a disappointment. I had really high hopes for this book, with all the high ratings and great reviews. But wow, I was really struggling to finish this.
This story is about Desiree who grew up in a mafia family and is now on the run from her family’s enemies. She moved into a small town and after getting trapped in a blizzard, she gets rescued by mountain man Aiden. So far it sounds fine, but boy oh boy, that’s when the cringe starts..
Without getting into any details.. how is this girl still alive? I personally have never been in any actual danger and my survival skills are, without a doubt, way better!
If this were in any way an accurate representation of the mafia, no one would be afraid.
Than the romance.. it’s just akward. The dialogues were like two robots trying to sound human and there is no chemistry whatsoever.
I could rant about this book and the stupid choices and boring smut scenes for hours, but I'll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum here. Although, I don't recommend reading it. I'm definitely not going to read the sequel.

Definitely Not My Favorite
I have read a lot of Natasha L. Black's books over the years and this is the first, and hopefully only, time I was thankful that it was over. Desiree made too many decisions that I'd expect from a naive young girl, barely a woman, not the mafia princess she was. Even sheltered from the harsh realities of the mob, she should have had a few more clues. It simply drove me crazy and made it hard for me to get into the book. (Quick hints: when you're on the run, get a new identity, use burner phones, and stop calling home!)
I liked Aiden and all of his damaged baggage, even when his decision making was a bit questionable for someone with his military background. I did like how he struggled to make friends and how he slowly embraced his friendship with Brett.
As for the happy couple as a unit? Their chemistry was a little forced, in my opinion.

Aiden is living a solitary life in the mountains when he meets Desiree. Desiree is on the run after her mob boss father was executed by a rival that wants to wipe out her whole family. So, she moved to this quiet mountain town to start over. She is on a hike before a snowstorm is to hit when she gets lost. She stumbles upon Aiden's cabin, and he rescues her from the cold. Sparks fly between them, but neither is ready to act on it. Once she is able to leave, she decides to make Aiden some cookies to repay his kindness to her. Its not long before they give into each other. They start seeing each other but she hasn't told him about her father or about the threatening phone calls. However, Aiden is at her place with her when the men show up for her. He helps her get away. Will he be able to help keep her safe? Will this cause Aiden to end things with her?
This is an amazing story that will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Slow paced thriller? Is there such a thing?
I was a bit disappointed in this book. It was pretty slow moving. The characters had pretty decent chemistry but romance was bland at best. The heroine was pretty silly. She was careless knowing that this other mafia group was after her. Especially being from a mob family, I was surprised at the poor decisions she was making.....MOSTLY the decision at the end.
Overall, an adequate read.

I am rating this a 4.5 stars because it wasn’t dark enough for a Mafia romance. This is the first book (A) of the Alphabet Mountain series. This secret baby romance has a twist of suspenseful Mafia that is packed with murder, mystery, danger, kidnapping, passion, and twists and turns—some you see coming, some you don’t. This is a is a beautiful love story about an ex military man, Aiden who builds and lives in his cabin in the mountains and Desiree who is from the city running from those out to end her life, the mafia who also killed her father just a week ago. Desiree finds this sleepy small town in the mountains and rents a place. On her 1st day she goes for a hike and a storm comes on hard and faster than she thought and she ends up rescued by Aiden. They end up at his cabin with the snow coming down hard for a couple of days. When Desiree has an unexpected call and visitors Aiden takes it upon himself to keep her safe. They get to know one another and become closer and have a connection where it’s natural between them. These 2 get help from Aiden’s friend and her best friends dad and his men. When Desiree discovers something is wrong with her she escapes into town and ends up captured. Aiden and the guys need to find a way to get her back before the bad guys make an example of her. Slow build, secret baby romance with a side of adrenaline rush
A Is For Aiden by Natasha L. Black, a secret baby romance has a lot going for it. There seems to be a constant hum of adrenaline in the background that pops up into the foreground from time to time. Between the setting of the mountains, the weather as well as life on the run, things only settle when Aiden and Desiree are together. These feelings and internal thoughts are confusing and unsettling considering their individual circumstances.
The plot brings Desiree and Aiden decidedly together as the danger to Desiree becomes apparent to Aiden. There is a slow build between Aiden and Desiree as well as the tension of impending doom of danger in the threat to Desiree’s life. The relationship between these two stutter starts in a way, stalls as Desiree wrestles with her feelings of helplessness at her situation.
Overall, determination to keep Desiree safe brings all of Aiden’s protectiveness to the surface then proximity provides opportunity for love. The surprise secret baby brings it all together rounding out the ending in a HEA.

This book has it all
It has mountain men, the mafia, death/murder, intrigue, friendships and love. It was a great book. Desiree and her best friend (Sammi) grew up within sphere the "family", they have a lifelong friendship. Their fathers were trying to run business in a more peaceful manner but still used force when necessary. Desiree's mother was murdered when she was young, her father just recently. She went on the run hoping by leaving the city "they" wouldn't try to get her. She kept in touch with Sammi. Desiree settled down in a small mountain town where she meets Aiden after getting caught in a storm while walking a trail. After getting back to her house, she received a phone call and unwanted visitors. Things hit the fan after they came into the picture. You'll meet Brett, Aiden's friend and Sammi's father and his crew. It gets pretty intense and exciting, really exciting. Such a good read. I enjoyed it a lot and hope you will too. This is the first book in this series. This is the first book I have read by Natasha. Desiree finds herself on the run. Her father was a mob boss and was recently killed. She knows whoever did it will be looking for her as well. Aiden is an ex-marine turned mountain man. The two meet when Desiree gets lost during a snow storm. She finds herself lost and cold on Aiden’s doorstep. Aiden begins to feel things that he hasn’t felt before. He has his issues but could he find room to allow himself to begin something with Desiree? Then he finds himself rescuing her again when those men she was running from find her. Do they really feel things for each other that are lasting or will they part ways when she is safe again? This book a great read. The characters are wonderful. I look forward to reading about them other men of ALPHAbet Mountain. I already have some of them. Mountain have recently become one of my favorite genres to read. Most are shorter reads but still great. Wonderful job Natasha.

This book is so much more than just an alpha military hero/mountain man story. It’s a reasonably quick read, and with so much going on in the book, it reads even faster, but it still carries quite a good punch for all that. Aiden has a pretty deep knight complex, so he hits a lot of my checkboxes for good book boyfriend material. I’m not sure I can describe why, but I connected so easily with Desiree. She’s trying so hard to do the right thing and do it all on her own; save her life and not drag other people into her problem. I thought these two were kind of adorable together and I loved watching their chemistry blossom. The mafia plot thread was fascinating and I’m hoping we’ll get to see what some of the fallout from it will be, maybe in a future book. The best friends were fun characters and I also have my fingers crossed that we’ll get stories for them as well.

Desiree is in trouble and hiding out in Tennessee. Aiden is living the solitary life in the mountains. Being lost during a blizzard unites these two unlikely people. Their beginning is sweet because they are both cautious and uncertain even though the attraction is strong. Desiree and Aiden are determined characters, strong and completely smitten with each other. The danger that Desiree brings to Aiden’s door does not deter their budding romance. It brings the protectiveness they both feel for each other to the forefront. Their journey is full of questions and is a matter of life and death...all the way to the very happy ending. I really liked this suspense romance and recommend it to all readers looking for the happily ever afters.

Wow! I do love a mafia suspense.
Desiree is running for her life as her mob boss father had been murdered and she fears that even though she isn’t involved in the “business” she is next.
She finds herself in a small Tennessee town surrounded by mountains. After she finds a place to rent and gets settled, she decides to take a short hike before a snow storm hits and ends up getting caught out in the storm and turned around and finds a cabin for help. When Aiden answers his door Desiree thinks she has gone to heaven, because, Hello Mr. Hottie.
I kept trying to figure out who the villain was the whole time reading this book and I just couldn’t keep Sammi out of my thoughts. She acted way too weird for the situation. But, sorry, no spoilers. You will have to find out for yourself.
This was such a good read and I can’t wait to see what follows.

Aiden and Desiree come together because of a walk that turned into getting lost in a storm. Desiree is from New York City and comes to this little mountain town to get away from the life that her parents were involved in that she was no part of. Aiden lives in the mountains away from everything because he just wants to be alone. Desiree decides one day that she wants to go for a hike in the mountains before the storm comes in, she goes for a hike but the snow comes faster than she thinks and she gets lost and then somehow she finds her way to Aidens house. He can’t turn her away when he sees her freezing on his doorstep. They have to ride out the storm before he can bring her back. What will happen when they are stuck together? You will have to get this book to find out. It is an amazing story to read.

He lives in the mountains because he doesn't want anyone bugging him, but that all changes when he rescues Desiree who got caught in a storm. There are sparks between them that are fiercer than the storm raging outside. Desiree doesn't tell Aiden about her past, her family and the danger she's in. When he finds out he will do everything in his power to keep her safe and to get her back when she's taken.
This story will keep you glued to the pages and on the edge of your seat and these two navigate not only their relationship but also the dangers they face. High action and a new hero for us readers to fall in love with.

Desiree left New York and went to Tennessee to hide from men who killed her parents and now want to kill her. Her father had been a Mob head and she had had no part of the business. While there, she got lost in the mountains in the blizzard and happened upon a cabin. Aiden is an ex-Marine who lived alone in his cabin in the mountains. He opened the door and found Desiree there in the blizzard. She stayed with him for a couple of days and went back to town. They got together several more times and the men found her. They snuck out and went to the cabin…they found them and from there they had to fight to stay alive. She puts a call into a friend for backup and while there she is taken…now what? It is not only her she has to worry about now…will they find and save her before it is too late? Will Aiden ever get a chance to find the HEA he wants with her?

Awesome Read!!!
I really enjoyed reading A is for Aiden(Men Of Alphabet Mountain Book 1)!!! All about Aiden an ex-military man who lives alone on a mountain in Ashford, Tennessee & Desiree a women in her mid-twenties a Phycologist and a mob daughter. She’s moved to Ashford to start over since her dad was murdered & his arch rivals have threatened to wipe her off the face of the earth. Her second day in Ashford she goes on a hike before a major snowstorm and gets lost in the woods, and it starts snowing! She lands on Aidens front porch nearly frozen to death. Read about Aiden & Desiree and the unique friendship they buildup!! Lots of emotions run through this book! It’s a page turner from the start, and being a mob daughter only intensifies throughout!!! I really enjoyed reading this and can’t wait to read book 2, B is for Brett!!!

Saving The Damsel And Healing His Heart -
I just went on one heck of a ride whilst reading this story. I was hooked on the story from the beginning with the angst, suspense, action-packed moments and heated sexual encounters, that had me on the edge of my seat. Each page turn had me experiencing a different emotion, I can definitely say I was really happy that I took the time to read this gem. The title of the book made me think it was a run of the mill mountain man romance, but daaaaaaam, this story really packs a punch. All I can say now is Natasha L. Black, you done excelled again.

This book is a quick fun and entertaining book to read. It is full of excitement. Desiree left home after her father who was the head of the mob was killed. Desiree is in danger, and being hunted by the same men who killed her father. She’s hiding out in Tennessee and when she gets caught in a snowstorm, she finds Aiden’s cabin and he lets her stay. The chemistry and attraction between Aiden and Desiree is immediate and undeniable. I couldn’t put this book down, and the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. An exciting page turning read and one I recommend to everyone.

I loved this book from the start, I was hooked. I loved the storyline and the characters were great. Desiree is on the run after her father is killed, and then she finds out they want her dead too. She ups and moves away to a small town and tries to settle down but is forever looking over her shoulder. Desiree wants some peace and takes a hike up the mountain, hoping to be back before the storm hits but she miss times it and gets stuck up the mountain, she walks and walks and finds the cabin with Aiden in it. He was the light she needed and the drama begins. It's a great book and I highly recommend

Aiden is a mountain man he loves the solitary life he’s ex military and all he wants is a quiet life and he was determined to keep it that way until trouble by the name of Desiree ended up on his front doorstep, Desiree is the daughter of a mob boss who was murdered and now they are after her. There is so much more going on in this fantastic story but you can find that out for yourself, I loved this story and I enjoyed the action, adventure, suspense, danger and especially the passion and I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.

Compelling and definitely recommended!

This is just the beginning and it was a fantastic first story. Aiden is an ex-military soldier living his isolated life in the mountains. Until during a snow storm an unexpected visitor knocks on his door. Desiree needed to get out of New York City and away from the possible threats after her father was killed. Settling in a small mountain town seemed ideal, until she gets lost on the trails just before a severe storm hits. Action packed and fast moving. Loved it

She lucked out finding his cabin during a snowstorm and the sexy mountain man becomes her protector when things take a crazy dangerous turn. This is a page turning, nail biting steamy mountain man romance with a mob twist. A is for Aiden is book one and a great start to the Men of ALPHAbet Mountain series and I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Definitely a page turner! Aiden lived a life of quiet and peace after his life in the military. He rarely was around people until one day Desiree knocked on his door for help. Desiree was running for her life. She decided to take a hike. While on her hike the weather turned bad. Somehow she ended up at Aiden’s cabin. This book was definitely a page turner. I didn’t want to put it down. This is a really good book. You definitely want to know what happens next. Unexpected romance, chasing, hiding, running in the mountains of Tennessee.
