Karlie knows she has to find her injured father quickly. But how is she going to find him in this vast wilderness, with a killer on her trail? And if she does find her data, will she be able to save him and herself?
ANGELA DORSEY currently lives on Vancouver Island and is thoroughly enjoying the ocean breezes, awesome hiking, and lack of snow! In the past, she has lived in a number of small towns throughout B.C., and loved them all.
She loves hiking, traveling, and animals, and has a tendency to name her pets after things that remind her of her coastal home, such as Misty, Raven, and Cedar.
Angela writes novels, screenplays, and non-fiction, and has a number of literary publications (short stories, poems, and postcard stories) and articles published as well.
Karlie has to keep her injured father safe from a killer hot on their tail plus survive the Canadian bush despite the odds mounting against her. Once again this author’s stories stand the test of time and deliver an adventure full of danger, horses, and one clever girl who has to fight horrible odds with Angelica’s help.
This is definitely a survival story with a smart protagonist (you’d be surprised how many survival books DON’T combine these two things, lol) and I love that along with what Karlie learns about herself, others, and horses along the way. The parallel between her and the villain was really well done and plainly there but not in an in your face, annoying way. And as always Angelica and the horses, Nugget, Cowboy, and Silky, were amazing and taught and helped Karlie in so many ways.
Super enjoyed revisiting this one!
‼️Content‼️
Language: dang
Violence: a man is murdered (all that is shown is a pool of blood); characters are shot and shot at; injuries and blood (not detailed)
Other: characters stumble upon a grave; a girl lies; a character has supernatural powers; magic; a building is set on fire
ANOTHER GOOD BOOK! Great story, and great completion! I really liked this one, and found that the girl Karlie really used her head well. Looking forward to the next one by Ms Dorsey....
Lapsuuden mieleenpainuvimpia kirjoja. Ehdottomasti lapsuuden paras heppakirja!
