Love that we're making books like this now for children!! Very demure, very mindful. I picked this up just out of curiosity and plan to look at others, I definitely see myself learning form these books as well.

I came across this looking for ebooks on Libby (that's how I've read my last few books - I forgot to pack my kindle lol) -- I thought it was sorted by popularity, but this book does not seem very popular here on Goodreads, huh.

The information in this book was detailed and to the best of my knowledge (as someone with food allergies) accurate. I especially liked the page where Hudson asked for a new scooper and tub at an ice cream parlor to avoid cross-contamination, as well as the page where he does not eat cupcakes at a classmate's birthday party and has his own treat packed. Those were encouraging to me. I also liked the careful wording of "some reactions are mild... some are dangerous", as it is a common misconception that the strength of the reaction is dependent on the person and always the same.

I hope this book becomes widely available in libraries and classrooms for all children with food allergies to read.

I appreciated that this book had easy-to-interpret illustrations that related to the topic of food allergies. The imagery was simple, and easy to understand, but also detailed & labeled so the reader could make connections. Since food is such an important part of our daily lives I think being aware of these possibilities is good for all youth readers. The book also provides hope in the sense that there are ways to be happy & live a fulfilled life while also being cautious when it comes to the food you eat. Ending the book with helpful words is a great addition & is useful for retaining information that was read-aloud & learned in the story.

I read this because my nephew has a food allergy. It was good for explaining more serious food allergies for kids.
