Ah! My first contemporary romance book baby! Those Chance Encounters consists of mentions of bullying, body issues, and eating disorder—all of which I have, and still face in my day-to-day life. I hope you like this story. It was emotionally draining, but also a lot of fun to work on, and to pen Kenneth and Amara's angsty yet beautiful journey. 💖🌺🖤

IF U DECIDE TO READ THIS BOOK, GO GIVE THE AUTHOR SOME MUCH NEEDED LOVE ON HER SOCIALS. SHE DESERVES IT.
I got to read this book early as I am a friend to the author, but make no mistake on my rating. This book deserves 5 stars, period. The pain, the suffering, the truth, it is all real. Pearl has gone through these things in real life, and the fact that she was brave enough to put her truth in fiction, it was 👌👏👍
This book has it all. It is a complete package. Romance, angst, drama, fun, anger, everything is channeled while reading this book, which makes it all the more special.

Despite me not relate to some issues in this book, the story of Those Chance Encounters was very lovely. Nice romance, characters, and build up. Kenneth is a**, but he do the right thing later, so I am happy. Amara face so much in this book, but she is strong. Inspirational. Original songs in this book also very pretty. Overall, very lovely book. Recommend 👍

I begged the author for an advance copy after seeing the cover. I know it was wrong of me to judge a book by its cover, but comeon, look at how stunning the cover is!
Anyways, this book proved to be beyond amazing to my expectations. The TEA that was being spilled here was just WOW. Apart from the serious topics used in this book, which touched my heart, everything else was also magical.
I don't read contemporary romances, but this nook is outstanding. I am a huge Harry Potter and GoT fan, and even though the former wasn't referenced on Those Chance Encounters, Game of Thrones was! Some of the mentions were during the funny times, which made me crack up so hard. Pearl has a different approach in humor, which I really appreciated.
Nice book, great vibes, and a very generous and talented author.

"Those Chance Encounters" is the first book I've read by Pearl Khatri.

This story is about love on the first glance. It shows us how can be love sometimes hard and just impossible but if we fight for then we can get our happy end.

Also, it was interesting read about true life issues and how they affect our personal life, relationship and work.

I'm glad that I had the chance to read this book and I recommend it to everyone who loves reading romance.

"Kenneth's words tranquilized every ablaze fragment of my body; they filed my veins with their power. They made me want to fly, they made me want to live without restriction, without fear."

Those Chance Encounters is the first book I have read by Pearl Khatri and I was desperate to read it after seeing the stunning cover; I became obsessed with its beauty. I was drawn into Kenneth and Amara’s tale and became fully immersed in the raw and emotional realism of the story that was depicted through intense, deep and meaningful writing.

Amara is a beautiful and flawed character who has so much heart and kindness, you can’t help but fall in love with every aspect of this complicated woman. She has been through so much heartache, but that never once diminished the beautiful soul she was and as I was delving deeper into this intricate and intriguing character, I kept uncovering more and more truths that made me want to know even more. The more layers of Amara’s persona I uncovered, the more I wanted to know. I loved her growth and the way she developed; I was able to connect with her on a very deep and profound level.

I had very mixed feelings towards Kenneth, there were times I couldn’t stand him and thought he deserved a smack across the head, then there were other times I thought he was sweet and genial. While I do believe he should have done many things differently, I also believe he passionately and irrevocably loved and adored Amara.

While I did really enjoy Those Chance Encounters, certain aspects were hard to read and quite daunting. I always give myself whole heartedly to a story regardless of any warnings or peoples’ thoughts on said story. I always make my own mind up based on what I have read and how this story made me feel. This was a heartbreaking and emotional story that was raw, gut wrenching and real, with characters that were as beautiful as they were flawed. One click this one – releasing June 12th.

How can Pearl keep surprising her readers like this? This is her first dip into romance, and some might think she would be cautious and write something cliche, but no. This woman went all out in this book. There's serious matters that were opened up and talked about in this book, which will make certain readers uncomfortable, but these things need to be talked about. Life isn't always rainbows and unicorns, and Those Chance Encounters shows that really well. There's truth, rawness, love, desire, and jealousy all mixed into this, and this journey will take you places you'll want to physically be a part of. Hats off to the author for writing a REAL fiction story.

Those Chance Encounters was my first Pearl Khatri novel and it pulled me in right from the start. I didn't put this book down since I started it. Amara is a special character, I related to her a lot with how she felt and how people treated her and this book was special to me because of that. But it was much more than that... Kenneth and Amara's connection is so exceptional, I immediately fell in love with them.

Kenneth being an actor and Amara a make-up artist, you can see how their paths will cross right?! Well, let's just say these two were forced together left and right, even before their careers brought them back together. Chance encounters you say... well I don't think there was much chance in it because these two's souls were tied together and they were meant to be that way too. It was amazing to read their story, no matter how much they hurt for each other, how much life threw them a part, it also always brought them back together. It was a pretty ansgty ride but so damn sweet too. They go through a lot, apart and together but in the end it's all worth it.

I also loved most of the side characters, Amara's brother and Kenneth's best friend, Amara's bff too even though sometimes I wanted to hit her because of the things she said, her husband was pretty cool tho. I loved the GoT references, specially on the day that I read this, on the day of the last episode ever (I'm still bawling over here). Anyway, this book is full of all the things, it will surprise you left and right, there's drama, there's so much emotion and angst and everything just fit so well. Sometimes hollywood romances have that very predictable drama that is just there for the sake of it you know... this book, it was nothing like that. The drama, the gossip it was very well thought out and written, it just fit the story so well and definitely added to the angst.

Those Chance Encounters is a book that is raw and speaks of real struggles that I feel a lot of woman can relate to, just like I did. It was a great book with an epicly sweet love story that I just adored. I cannot wait to see what's in Pearl's future. This book might have been my first of hers but it won't be my last! And can we just talk about this cover for a seconde? SO PRETTY.

Wow, what a story. This romance novel is packed full of emotion, heart and humour.

There is so many things that I loved about reading this story but here's a few to start. The plus size heroine faces some relatable issues of an eating disorder and body issues which is reflective of the world we live in.

Following that we meet a hero which is as swoon worthy as they get. He has a bigger heart than the world deserves and despite the silly things he does he is forgivable for his actions.

When Kenneth Barnes stumbles upon Amara Rogers they can't help the instant connection they have. However with multiple actions coming in their way they are separated and not seen together for a while.

Until another chance encounter they meet again and with these continued stolen moments the connection is reignited and built to last even through the major battles they gave together and alone.

It was a beautiful story of two characters just trying to find love with each other and themselves. They made each other stronger and created something between them that was worth fighting for.

Pearl wrote in a way that has you smiling and swooning wanting more from the characters at every step which this majorly delivers.

It's a must read and story that should be heard.

Thank you to author for the advanced copy as it is a read I'll never forget.

I've read a lot of mixed reviews about this book. Some very good and the others not.
I wanted to know for myself and I'm happy that I'm a very curious person, because I really enjoyed this book.
It's a dramatic, but also a sweet story about love and all the dark and twisted things that can be overcome with enough courage and trust in yourself. It's a story about the inner values and the terrible and hurtful things that happens in our society every day because someone doesn't meets the standards of immaculate appearance and beauty settled by fashion magazines.
The story about Amara and Kenneth is a beautiful love story with a lot of complications.
I didn't like Kenneth and his secrets. He could handle the situation more sensible or rather smoother. The secretiveness brought Amara to her last limits and himself to act against his instincts and forget the real purpose. Amara's whole life was already a disaster and his behavior broke her even more.
So the question is: Was it necessary to keep Amara in the dark? Well, despite my dissatisfaction with Kenneth
their story is a beautiful swoony fairytale love story with amazing HEA and an evil witch 🤭.

I've put this book on hold for too long and I didn't know what I was missing out on. Those Chance Encounters is one of those rare books that will leave your heart ache in a good kind of way. It was raw and emotional. The words flow effortlessly as the story goes. It's hard not to get lost in the story from the very first page. The story has its ups and downs and the plot is as complicated as it's intriguing. The main characters create an exemplary dynamic of how a relationship develops over time. But most of all, they proved that love will withstand anything life throws their way... and those chance encounters will always happen with the right person.

Those Chance Encounters tells the struggle between two people who fight their way to be together despite what faith stacks against them. Amara Rogers and Kenneth Barnes met one night in a bar and spent an unforgettable time together. Their chance encounters left a permanent mark on their hearts that could not be denied. Amara is a make-up artist that is slowly building her career, while Kenneth is a struggling actor trying to make a name for himself. These two paths crossed over and over again but there's always something in the way of them being together.

There's a certain kind of delicacy in a story like this. It deals with sensitive and triggering issues, especially to most women out there. And that's what makes this story very grounded because aside from the romantic aspect, we get to see more of the harsh truth of what young woman is dealing with these days. Amara is a relatable character, she's fragile, sensitive, and very in touch with her feelings. But she's also a very loveable creature and this is repeatedly shown by her interaction with other characters. It's clear that she has a strong support system by her side, which is always important to have.

Kenneth takes a little getting used to at first. To be honest, I questioned most of his actions throughout the story. But I can see where he's coming from. He has an intense desire for Amara and most of his decisions are well-thought because of this said desire. He can also be very protective of her, persistent, and passionate as a lover. They have a good relationship going when they're together because they complement each other with such ease.

Overall, the plot came together nicely in the end. I'm over the moon when they finally reached their happy ending. Those Chance Encounters is truly a delectable read. One that proves how falling in love is a raw, tender, and sometimes tedious process that needs working over and over again. Pearl Khatri has done well in giving voices to the women who sometimes feel like they don't deserve love and prove to them that they do. Despite their struggles and their overbearing guilt of not being 'good enough', those chance encounters with the right person will come their way.

I got this book as an ARC and it is my first read by this author.

This was such a sweet and realistic story.
It took me some time to get into it but once I did, I was hooked. I needed to know how the story would end for Amara and Kenneth.

Amara was a freelance makeup artist just trying to make it through life. Having a bad time growing up with bullies, she never had the confidence in herself or her looks. That was until Kenneth showed her how beautiful she was.

Kenneth was an up and coming movie star that just happened to go out with his best friend/manager for a fun night out, when he spotted Amara at the bar. As soon as he started to talk to her he was in love.
But love never comes easy now does it?!

Overall this book was wonderful. It was a good read and not your typical romance story, which is nice to change it up a bit.
I very much recommend this book.

*INSERT WHALE-LIKE SCREAMING*
OH MY GOD!!!!!!! I've been waiting to read this book ever since Pearl announced it! I didn't want an advance copy. I wanted to wait and suffer until the release 😂 BUT THE WAIT WAS SO WORTH ITTT!!!
Those Chance Encounters has it all! It has internal struggle, struggle against the bullies, pain, understanding, love. I am so in love with Amara. I think she's one of the coolest characters I've read. She's very relatable and sweet, and it's so obvious that Kenneth fell for her 😍
Kenneth is a douche, but whatever he did throughout the course of the story, he did for Amara, so I can see where he is coming from.
The chemistry and romance between the two is just so sizzling!!! I was swooning and dropping saliva all over the place while reading the steamy and one on one scenes they had in the story. Just WOW.
I love Pearl's poetic writing. It flows so smoothly. The dual perspective thing was very well managed. I am so in love with this book that I am out of words 😭 Pearl has left me with a book hangover with her charismatic writing and breath-taking characters!
Also, Coco is officially my spirit animal 😂

Where to begin with this review. I’m not even sure I can articulate all that this story captured. It definitely touched my mind and heart with it’s beautiful words, honest truths, and fantastic journey.

Amara is a beautiful woman and soul. She is genuine, guarded, and loves with her entire being. We learn so many truths about Amara in this story. Honest and ugly truths. What I love most is Pearl made her real! She took this flawed character and gave her a story of heartbreak, love, and growth. Did all her demons get slayed by the end, no, but she was overcoming them and focusing on the good. She is a strong, fierce woman. Probably one of my favorite females ever. There was so much Amara endures and works to over come. The bullying is real, the eating issues are raw, the body image is honest. Amara had to battle her inner demons in a way you felt down to your soul. Add in the bullies of the real world and this woman is stronger than she knows. I won’t spoil but Amara is fantastic. A character that you will cheer for, cry for (even though I didn’t but we all know I’m frosty and never cry), and support until the end of time.

Kenneth... let me tell you. I have a roller coaster of emotions about him. I wanted to junk punch him, root for him, and then smack him upside the head so hard the sense got knocked in him. He is definitely a flawed man. What we learn about Kenneth is even when the best intentions make logical sense in your head, they can have devastating impacts on those you love. He had a hard fought battle to come back in my good graces. I believe Kenneth had to walk through hellfire to fully realize his potential with Amara. I know some readers might find the angst and drama that he deals with a bit over the top, but I felt it made the story more realistic. People make so many decisions and inadvertently hurt the ones they love sometimes. It’s not right or wrong, but it does create rifts and distance that has to be bridged. Kenneth definitely deserves to have his head smacked, but he only had the endgame of forever with Amara in mind.

Rachel... well I’ll save that for your judgement but the harpy spawn can take a long walk off a short pier. She is a good antagonist for both Amara and Kenneth.

Dylan and Conner are perfect side kicks. I was so excited when things played out for them the way it did. All the other friends Amara makes along the way are genuine and valuable to the story. They come in and just the right time and stay forever intertwined in Amara and Kenneth’s lives. Sloane is one friend that I kinda wanted to smack. She really had her moments where putting a foot in her mouth would be too easy a way out.

Pearl did a masterful job of writing a story that occurred over years. The timeline was clearly placed at each chapter. The flow of the story was seamless and you didn’t feel lost or rushed. She executed that flawlessly in my mind. The plot moved well. It closed up all of the obstacles and questions you may have had when reading. It left me wanting more, but only because I fell in love with this world, characters, and story. The subplots had their arcs at the right time in the stories and fit in this puzzle perfectly. One thing that receives huge points for me is the cover plays into the story beautifully. The title, she worked her magic and when you find out how it fits it will all click and make sense.

I genuinely enjoyed this story and reading a new to me author. I would recommend this to readers because it is different from other stories out there. It’s quirky, lovable, and original. 5 twirling pointe shoes from this blogger.

First and foremost EDITOR....... the words and phrases in this book were incredibly weird and things I've never heard. I get English isn't the authors first language but that's where an editor comes in to try and make sense of this mess.... I get the heroine has body issues and an eating disorder but C'MON no woman should disrespect herself as much as this character. It's actually sickening how she demeans herself. And the whole Hero texting with the heroines pet bunny was just stupid ... way to much drama and unnecessary crap

A big nope!

Edit to add: I could only read 10% of this book because I couldn’t bear it anymore. I was recommended this book and I looked at all these 5-star ratings and fell into the goodreads trap all over again. At this point, I only have myself to blame. I don’t know what the story is or if there is any story at all. All I can say about this book is that (from the 10% that I managed to crawl through) the writer read a lot of romance novels and then vomited them all on paper. It is written very badly, and I say this as kindly as I can.
Exhibit A: “My hand was engulfed in his.”
Exhibit B: “his dark grey jeans accentuated his firm thighs as he walked with confidence and refinement.” No. Just, no.

The characters were unbelievable. The first line of the book is “I look like a wombat”. Amara calls herself a wombat and then goes on a body-shaming rant because she did smokey eyes. Amara is a professional makeup artist. She gets a lot of contracts so I’m guessing she’s good at her job. Which makes me wonder how bad can her smokey eye look that she had go and call herself a wombat and then rant about how her mother had to suffer while giving birth to her! That escalation was unexpected.

Then we are introduced to her best friend, Sloane, who says something absolutely mean to Amara and doesn’t even want to apologise because “an apology won’t take back the words I said”. Amara is so used to such kind of behaviour that she doesn’t even think about speaking up for herself, instead she justifies Sloane’s words by saying her friend is drunk and needs to be taken care of. Dear god, no!

On the other hand, we have Kenneth and his best friend Dylan. Kenneth wanted to be an actor so Dylan gave up his dream of becoming a doctor to study management so he can “help Kenneth as much as he can”. I’m sorry but what?! I know there are friends who are extremely loyal and can do anything for you, but why didn’t Kenneth stop Dylan from giving up his dream and syncing himself with Kenneth’s dream?! I’m having a very hard time understanding this. If Dylan wanted to give up his dream, that was his loyalty towards Kenneth (kinda stupid, too, if you ask me) but where is Kenneth’s loyalty? He just let his friend give up his dream for him? If it makes Dylan look good (read: stupid, sue me), it also makes Kenneth look extremely selfish.

I couldn’t read any further because I realised that there were better ways of using my time, like writing this review.

ARC Review
As a challenge to myself this year, I started reading more fiction. Fiction in all kinds of genres imaginable because I've just never given myself the chance before.

Now, as my first completed Romance book for 2019, I must say I'm impressed! Not only by the storyline, but by the depth and honesty that is portrayed through the characters in this book. I can almost feel what Amara and Kenneth are feeling – their joy, insecurity, pleasure, agony... everything.

If you're looking to experience multiple emotions in one read, here's your book, baby!

Such a wonderful story that evokes so many feelings. You will feel sad, happy, excited and pissed throughout. It truly was a roller coaster ride of emotions.

From the very beginning I felt sad with Amara. Her lack of self confidence and shame was painful to read at times. It was also maddening how people could be so cruel. Then she met Kenneth and his insistence of her beauty was refreshing, until it wasn't.

Both Amara and Kenneth have hidden issues. Each of them are protecting themselves for very different reasons. Kenneth did annoy me many times throughout the story. I was mad at him for the way he handled certain situations. Her best friend Sloane reminded me more of a frenemy. Her need to protect Amara, but could also make snide comments or put her down was annoying. Sloane was not my cup of tea.

The story follows Amara and Kenneth throughout many ups and downs and twists I did not see coming. It was refreshing to see Amara trying to grow. Just like real life, it does not happen quickly and there are bumps along the road. An enjoyable read with a HEA.

I will say if you are triggered by body issues/body shaming, this is not the book for you. Parts are very painful to read.

I was fortunate to receive an ARC for Those Chance Encounters and this book was nothing less than great! Amara is a great character, and I love that I could relate to her. When your plus size you always feel less than in the group or someone is always looking at you with judgey eyes. I honestly love that Pearl Khatri wrote about a plus size main woman main character because I don't read a lot about those. Amara and Kenneth have this connection to each other, but with their careers they won't see each other again until a few years later. These two had my heart swooning with their chemistry. They made each other better. This a lovable contemporary romance read that is definitely worth the read!

I love that a plus size heroine is represented. Sometimes I loved her and sometimes I wanted to shake her. There are people that have lived through what she has. The author didn’t shy away from the emotion roller coaster. I think there is power in that.

There were times that I would sometimes get distracted by some description or wording. I don’t believe that English is the author’s first language. I took that into account.

The story was a journey with a lot of feels and some giggles. The story of falling in love can be messy before it is sweet.

I voluntarily read an early copy.

Those Chance Encounters is my first book by this author and one that took me on one huge emotional journey. Kenneth and Amara’s story is heart wrenching and heart warming all in one. A story that deals with issues that a lot of us relate to, touches you personally and allows you to find an instant connection especially to Amara. Kenneth will steal your heart and have you swooning. Their journey shows you two people who learn to be stronger not only individually but jointly. A captivating read from start to finish that will take your heart and soul on a moving and impassioned ride.

TW: Body Image, Eating Disorder, Bullying

This is the second book from Sana that I’ve read and I have to say between the two that I’ve read this is probably my favorite.
I related to the main character Amara in her struggles with loving herself and her difficult relationship with her body and eating. The romance with Kenneth was also really fun, steamy and emotional all at once.
I do feel like certain parts of the story did drag after a while but it really kept my attention with the whole movie star aspect of it.
Overall, this was really fun and exactly what I was looking for in a romance

*I want to preface my whole review by saying my knowledge of the romance genre is fairly slim and most of my experience, literarily speaking, is as a secondary aspect to the plot, so please take anything I say accordingly.

I got the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book from the lovely author who was kind enough to send it my way in exchange for my honest review, so without further ado, here goes:

I don't normally reach for Romance books, though I'm not averse to them either. I'm not well versed in characteristics of the genre, nor do I have any particular expectations when I approach them, so that is exactly where I was coming from when reading this book.

Hands down, my favorite aspect of this book is the humor woven throughout. I frequently caught myself laughing out loud, snickering, and even giggling at the author's dialogue and character observations. There was a great deal of wit and snark on display, which is something I appreciate in a book.

The "love" aspect moves rather quickly, which is addressed by the characters and I Iiked that they acknowledged it. Still, at times, it did make me wish there was a little more development with the characters and the plot so that certain events seemed more plausible. The sex scenes, for the most part, were quite well done, and I loved that they focused so much on women's pleasure. Fans of TKQ will likely enjoy the more intimate parts of this novel.

I did adore most of the characters, even if I wanted them fleshed out a bit more. My favorite part aside from the humor was the supportive peripheral characters, like Dylan and Conner, Jacque, and Jake. I loved how they were such gentle and caring individuals and weren't afraid to be as much publicly. The author also does a good job of inclusivity, especially with regards to sexual orientation and ethnicity.

Amara was an often relatable MC, and you can definitely feel how the author's own experiences and emotions inform her character. I just wanted to give her a big hug most of the time. Her character deals a lot with issues of fat-shaming, self-worth/image, bullying, and an eating disorder, which the author was considerate enough to include a content warning for, but it is worth mentioning again, so beware before jumping in. As a plus size girl myself, I thought it was awesome to have this sort of representation in a novel and especially to have her as the lead love interest.

I confess I'm not big into Hollywood and its drama, yet that is a pretty big facet of this novel, and I was still able to enjoy the story despite it being, at times, treacly, and at other times, melodramatic (IMO). It's a quick read with good pacing, some OMGGG moments, and held my interest. I wanted to keep reading namely because I was vested in what happened to these characters.

I don't think this book will be everyone's cuppa tea, but I enjoyed it, don't regret reading it, and I would definitely read more work by this author!

Thank you for the ARC, Pearl! I wish you great success. ♡

"I'll be chasing, longing and yearning for those chance encounters..."

-

There are no spoilers in this review!

This is Pearl Khatri's third book and revolves around the tumultuous relationship of Amara (a make up artist) and Kenneth (an actor). It follows them from their first meeting through the trials and tribulations they must face to ultimately be together (of which there are many!) and though the plot becomes a little convoluted at times I felt that all the twists and turns were necessary and actually really kept me hooked. I was always desperate to find out what would happen next and how it would end up being resolved.

I enjoyed the style of writing. I think Pearl has quite an easy style to read, her language isn't overly flowery and I wasn't wading through paragraphs and paragraphs of unnecessary description to get to the actual nitty gritty of it. There was only one thing I didn't like, and that was simply the use of the word 'orbs' as a description of eyes - that's only a personal thing though, I just dislike the word! It made for a very enjoyable read that I could quite happily pick up at any moment.

This is also a book with some -ahem- raunchy scenes and I do think that for the most part they were done very tastefully and, importantly I find in books with these scenes, realistically. I only felt that their first 'full encounter' was slightly unrealistic because of the setting. But then again, it is a book. I did blush to read a few! But that's because I'm a shy little bean. On the whole, very enjoyable ;)

Finally then, the characters. I loved Amara and darling little Coco (the sweetest little bundle of fluff) I thought she was really well developed, well rounded and relatable which is (in my experience) what we want! She had her own issues as we all do and I enjoyed being part of her journey in realising and overcoming them. Kenneth was, ultimately hot, but also very sweet and genuine. He was a dreamboat essentially but not very trusting. I think he could've and should've done a lot of things differently, but then if he had there would be no plot! And we can't grumble about anything if everything always goes right.

Ultimately, I really enjoyed reading this and feel especially lucky to have done so before the release date! If you're looking for a relationship story that is worth working for (and let's be honest, if it's not a little hard it's not worth it) then this is an ideal summer read. Well paced, well written and well rounded - I would certainly recommend it.

This is a book by a new to me author. It is a contemporary romance and I am glad and grateful for the ARC. I liked the story and the journey of the two main protagonists and I am giving it 5 stars.

This is Kenneth and Amara's love story. Kenneth is a an actor trying to find his place in the Hollywood world, and Amara is a professional make-up artist. You would think that they have met on the movie set, but their chance encounter was more random. They met in a club on a casual night, with a typical pick up line „Can I buy you a drink?“ and with that question everything starts. Amara is type of girl who is not so experienced regarding men, and Kenneth is a whole opposite of her regarding women. While Kenneth is a person so sure about himself, Amara has a very low self-esteem and she owns that to the happenings in her past. Their relationship which started as the love at first sight is full of ups and downs. Will they have the strength to love each other through all these ups and downs? Will they fight for the love or will they give up?

"Never, ever break another heart for the rest of your life. They're fragile objects - the hearts. They beat for love, for warmth. They live for what's to come. Don't disappoint them; don't bruise them"

“If you love someone, go after them. Chase your desires, earn your possibilities, and relish it once it’s in your possession. Life is too short to not take a risk; it’s too unpredictable to not cherish those existence-changing chance encounters. Live it, dream it, work it, and when you’ve done that, then all you gotta do, is win it.”

This book contains several life problem that girls fight with in their youth and later. I am glad that I have read this book, because it shows us the life and thoughts of those girls. Thank you Pearl Khatri for opening my (not to say all readers) eyes regarding these issues.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book hit every part of my heart I have. The characters are these real, raw people who have so many issues, you will want to cry for them. The author creates this safe world that people can be who they are supposed to be. Sometimes, when reading romance, all characters are these perfect, unflawed characters. Pearl takes her characters and adds all these quirks and amazing faults that will leave a book hangover you will nurse for days. The emotions I felt were very raw and real because the issues she addresses are raw and real.

I feel like these types of books are not written often because they are so hard to write and portray it appropriately. This author is a master at taking tough subjects and making something beautiful. This was my first read by her and I will DEFINITELY read whatever else she writes. Amazing work by this amazing author!!

Kenneth and Amara are these 2 amazing people that meet by circumstances that friends cause. They make the most of their situation and fate has already taken over. Their conversations and banter in the beginning were cute and captivating.

“You are breathtaking, staggering. You’re gorgeous, Amara. Not a wombat, but a rare, invaluable beauty. Don’t let anyone or anything tell you or make you feel otherwise, you hear me?”

Can you say swoon worthy from the very beginning?!? I absolutely loved them apart and together. Kenneth is a struggling actor that Amara more or less saves. She is this strong female character that has body issues and issues that are deeply ingrained, but together, they can overcome most anything.

The drama, suspense and banter between Kenneth and Amara, along with their best friends makes this story amazing and inspiring. I seriously loved every word written and couldn’t put it down from the first page!!

One click this book! Now! You won’t regret it!!

“I’ve wanted you from the first moment you first smiled at me. I’ve craved for you since the first time we kissed. I’ve yearned for you ever since our first goodbye.”

Do you believe in love at first sight? Touch? Goodbye? Can a chance encounter change the heart and ultimately fate? In makeup artist Amara Rogers’s world, it is definitely a possibility. A crummy night comes to an unexpected screeching halt when her path is crossed by none other than the bombshell actor, Kenneth Barnes. A chance meeting sends these two lovebirds on a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows. Will the love they felt from the start be enough to ride them through the chaos and into each other’s arms or force them apart for good?

While my personal preference is for the damsel to choose the fight path in a fight vs flight situation, Amara’s personality lead her down the opposite road. But without such choices the chance encounters that the book was centered on wouldn’t of took place. On the other hand, Kenneth is a fighter for what he wants. And Amara is just that!! The spark Kenneth and Amara possess is electrifying even if he is a dunce at times. 😌

Author Pearl Khatri writes with rawness, truth and passion. Leaving her readers with:
“If you love someone, go after them. Chase your desires, earn your possibilities, and relish it once it’s in your possession. Overall I’d give Those Chance Encounters a 4/5 stars. I enjoyed the journey of Kenneth and Amara. I look forward to Pearl Khatri’s future.

I would firstly like to thank Pearl for allowing me to read the ARC edition of her third book! Can we get a celebration dance right here please because I mean, three books that is amazing! This is my first ever ARC and I thoroughly enjoyed the book even though this isn't a genre I read at all! It was definitely my first jump into contemporary romance and it was a really enjoyable read.

'Those Chance Encounters' is the story of Amara Rogers (aka Cap - I loved the Marvel, and GOT references, they definitely sparked some joy for the nerd in me) and Kenneth Barnes. Their worlds collide at a chance meeting at a bar and their entire worlds are thrown upside down. Amara, a make-up artist who deals with a lot of self-doubt and insecurities was definitely a character I related to. She finds passion in the things that she loves and makes sure to love everything 100%. She is raw and real. You can definitely see Amara being someone you know, your friend. Kenneth, an actor and heartthrob is definitely someone who knows what he wants and makes sure to run at it with all the guts and glory he can. He is questionable at parts, and is thrown into dark situations where he doesn't know how to act or behave. But, you cannot deny that he loves harder than anyone.

There are some controversial topics within this book, so I do suggest if you are sensitive to situations like bullying (online and in person), eating disorders and explicit sexual scenes then maybe this book isn't for you. But, if you're a lover of contemporary romance then I suggest you pick up this book and give Pearl some love! She has a unique voice and a true writing style which is very modern. It's a quick and easy read!
