TW: Drug Addiction, Human Trafficking, Mention of Domestic Abuse
Nora has learned that the easiest way to get through life has been to put on different faces to please those around her. But he sees through all of her fake smiles, and sees the pain in her eyes that she tries so hard to bury. She knew him for only one night, but that was enough for her to fall dangerously hard for him. But then he sacrificed himself for her, and she had to go right back to hiding. Now he’s awake, and he is refusing to let her go. But a lot has happened in the past year, and she lost a big chunk of herself the day she thought he died to save her. She has spent her whole life playing characters that others wanted her to be. He wants all of her. But if he takes it, what will be left of her if he breaks her heart?
Draco dreamt of purple hair and the face that held pain after he failed her for a year. One night was all it took for him to know she was meant to be his, but then they took her, and when he woke up, all of her color was gone. A lot can happen in a year. She had to save herself after he almost died, but now her kidnappers aren't the only evil they have to deal with. Together, they will find answers. Even if she is keeping secrets with him. He wants all of her. But she can’t even look him in the eye, before she breaks his heart.
“Everyone one thinks you’re ‘peachy keen’. But I remember when you were purple. You’ve been through so much already in your life. So what happened that night that turned everything black for you?”
Wow, wow, wow. This book was freakin amazing. I was sure Snake would be my favorite of the guys from this series, but Drake was on a whole other level. The character and relationship growth between Nora and Drake was so amazing to read, and I’m so glad we got to learn more about Nora’s past, as well as Drake’s. This has got to be my favorite couple in this series, and it’s not even finished yet. After meeting Drake and Nora in book 1, and seeing the chemistry they had, I was so excited to finally get to read their story, and it did not disappoint. This was probably this spiciest of the books so far, and Drake is definitely skilled in the art of dirty talking. Nora is a badass, punk pixie with a dark, traumatic past, and I really loved getting to learn more about her, and why she is the way she is with Drake in the beginning. Their relationship was all strong connections, steaming chemistry, and heartfelt moments, and I absolutely loved it. Aside from the relationship in this book, there was also an amazing plot, and story pace. The Conviction series is a series of interconnected standalones, so each book ends with a plot cliffhanger, but an HEA for the couple in the book. So, you do have to read them in order to understand the story fully. This book would be perfect for fans of…
•One Bed Trope(or tent)
•Grumpy/Sunshine
•Protective Heroes
•“Touch Her and I’ll Kill You”
•Forced Proximity
Overall, this was a fantastic book, and I look forward to seeing who book 5 is about.
“You’re not allowed to say anything else bad about yourself, Nora. Especially not while I’m on my knees for you.”
