A baker who sees the dead. One too many suitors. And a killer. Living in Honey Hollow can be murder.
*A laugh out loud standalone COZY MYSTERY by New York Times Bestseller Addison Moore* All books in the series can be read individually, so dive on in! ***Includes RECIPE***
My name is Lottie Lemon, and I see dead people. Okay, so I rarely see dead people, mostly I see furry creatures of the dearly departed variety, who have come back from the other side to warn me of their previous owner’s impending doom.
A St. Patrick’s Day parade is coming to Honey Hollow—and so is a killer.
Bodies are dropping like flies, and as if that wasn’t bad enough both Noah and Everett are keeping something huge from me. On top of that the baby is turning one this month and I’m determined to pull off the perfect party or die trying.
Lottie Lemon has a brand new bakery to tend to, a budding romance with perhaps one too many suitors, and she has the supernatural ability to see the dead—which are always harbingers for ominous things to come. Throw in a string of murders, and her insatiable thirst for justice, and you’ll have more chaos than you know what to do with.

I loved this book from the first page to the last. Lottie and gang are so much fun to hang out with for a while. This book will hook you in from the first paragraph until the end. This is just the diversion you need to get away from the world. I highly recommend you reading this book and anything by this author.
Lottie and her crew are still entertaining to read. Even after 40+ books, it hasn't lost its value. I love ever second of the time I spend in Honey Hollow with these fascinating and fun characters. I can't wait to see what the author has in store next.
After yet another murder in Honey Hollow, Lottie finds herself on the hunt for another killer. She also finds out that Noah and Everett have an unwelcome blast from their past that has come to town. He seems intent on trying to get revenge. Noah and Everett each have their own reasons for keeping Lottie in the dark as to their full story with Jed. As usual, Lottie tries to question suspects while also trying to perfect a birthday cake recipe for Lyla Nell. There were quite a few shenanigans in this book and some of it was just plain ridiculous. Carlotta would never survive in a small town with the way she manipulates situations to make a buck. The whole thing with Everett and his dealings at the end were ridiculous and not really necessary. I don't like how Noah is trying to make himself Lottie's husband and push Everett out when it was his lie that caused their issues in the first place. I would love for this love triangle to be over with it. It got old 30 books ago. Also wondering why Noah would try to recreate the first time he and Lottie met. The ending was just ridiculous.
Birthday cake bloodshed is the forty-second book in the Murder in the Mix Mystery series. Each story in this series builds on the previous story so I would suggest reading them in order to get the most out of it. But if you choose to start here they are written in a way where you could read them as a stand alone and not be to lost. Lemon has a gift of seeing dead animal of those who will experience back luck soon, but lately deadly luck. Like all the books in this series, when Lottie sees a ghostly animal she knows death is soon to follow. Spring is in the air and it is almost Lyla Nell’s and Lottie’s birthdays. Lottie is trying to perfect her birthday cake recipe before the party. So when she goes to the talent show and opening of the theater she brings one along to share even though she was not asked to provide the desserts for the event. Of coarse a few more people try it than planned and next thing you know one of the performers is earring cake in stage and dies in the middle of her act. So this month for Lottie for double busy. While preparing to have the best birthday party for her daughter she needs to solve the latest murder.
It's going to be Lottie and Lyla Nell's birthday! Lottie is trying out all kinds of cake flavors at her bakery to make the perfect cake for her daughter's 1st birthday! The guys in her life have special surprises for her and Lyla Nell too. But things don't seem to be going as well as planned. There's a murder! And... there's still issues with the mob. This murder is a hard one to crack and what's going on with a second haunted house in Honey Hollow? I think you'll enjoy this newest book in the series although all of the books can be read as a standalone. This mystery just might keep you guessing until the end.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Addison Moore does it again! She combined all the action, drama, romance , comedy, murder, and mayhem all in one storyline! For any other character it would be way too much, but not for Lottie Lemon. For her, it's all in a days work. Lottie is planning for Lyla Nell's 1st birthday and the cake has to be perfect! Throw in a murder, mac-n-cheese wrestling, men in kilts, and jealous significant others, and Lottie's days just became a whole lot busier. Lottie, Everett, and Noah are all trying to find a killer, all while keeping secrets from each other. Will the mayhem caused by a "friend" from the past showing back up in Honey Hollow break apart relationships? Here's hoping they can unite to find a killer before the luck of the Irish runs out!
I always enjoy my time in Honey Hallow! Lyla Nell is turning 1 and Lottie should be busy enough planning her 1st birthday party but of course someone has to bite the big one and put a kink in her plans. On top of that one of Noah and Everett's old friends/enemies is in town and seems to be determined to destroy their lives and anything that they hold dear. Someone has got to stop hi and find the killer on the loose.. This book is full of mystery and I honestly was not sure what was going to happen until the very end.
I loved all the first ones to this series, and I don't like how I'm not loving the more recent ones. The covers are still super eye-catching, the titles make me laugh, but I'm not a huge fan of the plot lines. I'll keep reading them, because I hope they'll pick back up again to how much I enjoyed them at the beginning.
Lottie has been busy solving murders and Honey Hollow keeps bringing in the unsavory friends of the past. Noah has agreed to go with Cormack birth classes as long as his brother comes as well. Miranda, Lot’s mother is in distress from a break-up and Carlotta is on roll with his scheming. Yeah, just a normal time in Honey Hollow. Or is it?
I have read 42 books of the series. They do NOT dissapoint! I am usually bored easily, especially with repetitive parts, but with this series, I just gloss over them and keep on reading. I love the characters and how they progress. Plots do not get stale at all. Ms. Moore consistently gets laughs out of me with each book. I am definitely a fan!!
Book 42, Murder in the Mix, Birthday Cake Bloodshed
Past comes back to haunt you, a murder, drugs in school, and ?it's of real life possible problems. All this a it is almost Lotties birthday ,and babies first birthday. The ending is another nerve wracking home howeer. Charlotte's horrible behaviour has no end.
As always for Lottie, she can't have one relaxing holiday in Honey Hollow. Hard to believe that her child Lya is turning 1 already. But in a town where murder seems the norm, she busy again planning a party and solving a crime.
Extra husbands and wives??? What’s not to lead to murder??? So, who killed Roxy Hale and why – not that she didn’t need it??? Who has an incessant need for money, men and booze??? I enjoyed the story and recommend the book.
Mystery wrapped up in a comedy. Endless series of unfortunate events that always come to a head in the most preculeur manner this one has a cliff hanger that leaves me scrambling for more!
I like this series and the main characters . The plot and humor are good. Some surprises in the story. Recipes are included. The cliffhanger is chilling.
At least Lyla is finally walking but they still carry her around way too much! Some of her speech seems unrealistic for her age. I am still not enjoying the sexual innuendo. I don’t think it needs so much attention in a cozy mystery.
