Katy Lee is a new author to me and I definitely will be reading more of her books.
Cover Up Cavern had me completely engaged and guessing what would be happening next, who was the criminal, when would the next attack come, and if the attraction between the main characters would turn into more in the midst of a nail-biting adventure!
Danika Lewis decided to become a Private Investigator after her father, a well-known archaeologist, mas murdered. Even if the law enforcement thinks differently, she’s certain her father’s death was planned by a smuggling ring of antique native artifacts. One or more of her father’s colleagues could be involved. She’s determined to find where her father’s stolen artifacts are hidden, and a lead takes her to Carlsbad Caverns National Park.
Truman (Tru) Butler works as a Ranger on the Carlsbad Park, and he is just who Danika needs to guide her through the off-limits caverns. But how can she convince him to help her out? And can she really trust him if he’s the man responsible for her best friend’s accidental death? Danika and Tru team in what will be a dangerous adventure and will unearth hidden secrets that some people consider worth killing for. Can Tru keep Danika safe? And will he lose his heart in the way? Will discovering the truth be fatal to them?
As I said, this was an edge of your seat suspense full of danger, mystery, adventure that will keep you reading until late! I really had a hard time putting the book down. It’s fast paced and full of action. I also enjoyed the character development. Danika was a strong and determined woman. A bit fearless, which made her make bold moves. A creative and quick mind to help her disguise her identity when needed. Tru was also determined, and I loved his protectiveness. He is not going to let anything happen to Danika under his watch. But can he really keep her safe? He has doubts and regrets as he has failed to protect the woman he loved. I also liked the faith thread about forgiveness and redemption, and trusting God in the most difficult circumstances.
Loved the ending, and would love to read more about some of the characters in a future sequel!
A great book that I vividly recommend to Romantic Suspense lovers!

Cavern Cover-Up by Katy Lee is a follow up to Holiday Suspect Pursuit. After reading about Jett and Nicole's story, Cavern Cover-Up follows Jett's brother Truman. You don't have to read Holiday Suspect Pursuit, but I think you should. It's one of the best romantic suspense books that I've ever read. Cavern Cover-Up is even better. You definitely won't be disappointed in either of these books. Danika Lewis is a private investigator posing as a wedding photographer (someone has to have a cover and pay the bills. It's a win-win lol). She suspects her father's death is linked to a smuggling ring of ancient native artifacts. She pursues a lead to Carlsbad Cavern National Park where she meets ranger Tru Butler. She wants him as her guide in the caves, but he's not quite sure what he believes. All he knows is that someone is trying to kill her and he is determined she won't die on his watch.

First of all, the suspense was top-notch. I literally wanted to read it all in one sitting, but alas sleep was calling my name and I couldn't hold it off. I felt like I was down in the caves with them while they were exploring. I've never heard of Carlsbad Cavern National Park, but I feel like a visit is in order. The caves sound so beautiful. I loved how the story centered around the caves. It was like they were their own character. They were such an important part of the story. I had never read a suspense about caves before. I think its the perfect setting for a book. I cried at the ending. I loved it. Though we didn't get an epilogue, we got enough to justify a good happy-ending. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that sister Luci gets her story told next. I'll definitely be on the lookout out for future books by Katy Lee and some previous ones that I might have missed. I hope you pick this one up. You will be on the climb/slide of your life. LOL

This is Danika and her father, Dr. Jared Lewis and 's story.
Danika Lewis clicked on the hidden camera in her night goggles to record her eureka moment. After eight years of learning the ropes of private investigating, she believed she had just found her father’s stolen treasure—or at least part of it. There was one item she was looking for that was not here.

After eight years of learning the ropes of private investigating, she believed she had just found her father’s stolen treasure—or at least part of it. There was one item she was looking for that was not here.
Scanning the secret lode of Native American artifacts that her late father had spent his entire archaeological career unearthing, Danika never thought she would find it locked in a vault beneath a three-story San Antonio mansion while an engagement party roared above. Apparently, all those dry investigating classes paid off—and so had the photography lessons. She clicked the first shot just as a creaking sound captured her attention.
Danika glanced toward the open steel door that resembled a smaller version of that of a bank’s and listened to hear if someone had tracked her down into the basement. She was supposed to be photographing the event as her undercover guise. She worked hard to get the recommendation from the wedding planner, and to come so far only to be caught in the moment of her find would be crushing. Not to mention it took her weeks to figure out the code. After all the possible codes Danika thought the vault’s lock might be, she couldn’t believe Dr. Martin Elliot locked up this priceless collection with his daughter’s birth date. It almost felt too easy...like she was supposed to find it...and be caught.

I thoroughly enjoyed Katy Lee's Cavern Cover-up.

If you are looking for a quick, enjoyable and inspirational read, then Cavern Cover-up is just the thing. I honestly read it in two days ... could have finished in a day, but was taking care of a one year old and doing life (laundry, meals, etc). It is a nice relaxing (well, except for the suspenseful parts) read that lets your mind take a break.

The overall story was great! I love the national parks and Carlsbad Caverns was one that I wanted to get to, but haven't yet. I did love learning a little more about Carlsbad Caverns and what I learned made me want to research some on my own. I honestly did not guess the "who-dun-it" of the book... I was looking at another character as guilty, so was pleasantly surprised by the ending. YAY for well written suspense. The romance was expected, but it was sweet and I love how God is the redeeming factor in it all.

One of my favorite quotes from the book was this: "You showed me what living for something looks like. The life has a purpose, and no matter how impossible a problem looks, it can be figured out when you have a good leader."

So, if you are looking for an enjoyable, quick/easy read that includes suspense and a little romance, check out Cavern Cover-up by Katy Lee. You won't be disappointed.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Cavern Cover-Up. I'm a big fan of Katy's. I love her work. I was excited to receive it in the mail. This story is well-written, action-packed, and full of intrigue. it's an awesome book and I know you will love it.

Private Investigator Danika Lewis is convinced her father's death was really murder. A lead takes her to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Her father was an archaeologist and had found some fantastic artifacts but those things had disappeared. She suspects his partner. She convinces a ranger to help her search the off-limits caves.

Park Ranger Truman Butler's main job is charting the unknown caves. He agrees to help Danika search for the missing artifacts. The search soon becomes dangerous and both of them are being stalked by a killer.

An exciting journey into the vast world of Carlsbad Carverns, going deep into the bowels of the earth. God has a plan for these two a good plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a plan for peace and not for destruction. Give Him your heart and watch Him work, even in this time of political unrest and chaos.

This cover promises something different, and it delivers on that promise. The heroine was giving me Tomb Raider vibes in the beginning, and then that morphed into Maxine Waters vibes. The chick kept butting heads with the hero, who never wasted a chance to tell her what to do. She would just say, nope, Im doing what I want and she would walk away. She wasnt about to lie or sugar coat anything for him. It was giving:

maxine waters

But I took a point off because she had a fear that was completely at odds with everything we knew about her. It just seemed implausible. And once in the caves, she would rely on others in a way that seemed at odds with the experience at cave dwelling/climbing she was supposed to have. The romance was also a little light.

But I enjoyed the adventure. I loved the setting and I was invested in the ending. Large amounts of this book takes place in the caves and I'm never bored by the climbers experience and what that's like. Awesome time.

Katy Lee is a new to me author and my reaction to this book is wow!
The story opens with the main female character, Danika Lewis, plunging into dangerous territory. Her active search to find artifacts stolen from her archaeologist father who she believes has been murdered, carries her from a rich homeowners vault to caves in Carlsbad National Park.
Dr. Martin Elliot, her father's colleague seems to be a prime suspect. It is important to set herself up to mingle with his family and using her private investigator skills to learn all she can to gain proof of guilt.
When she realizes she needs outside help, her one chance is to get Park Ranger Truman Butler to aid in her quest - without telling him her true mission. They have a connected past which he does not realize. This is one intense story which feels believable. I am fascinated by the authors descriptions and information about caves and cavers.
I received this book from the author. This is my unsolicited opinion of the well written story. Now I want to read her other books.

She suspects there may be a smuggling ring that stole his missing artifacts and they could be in the Carlsbad Caverns. Tru is the head ranger and who she needs to help her find out which cave, of the off-limits to regular visitors caves, the missing artifacts were smuggled into. As they search for the artifacts and the truth, they find out some dark secrets that someone wants to keep hidden. Secrets they have killed for before and will stop at nothing to kill for them again.

Cavern Cover-Up
Katy Lee
From the beginning to the end this book is nonstop suspense.
Characters who have suffered losses work to heal as they struggle to heal find the truth and bring justice and closure. Much of the story is underground in the caverns of Carlsbad which adds more suspense because you can’t see a lot of the dangers or the people who mean you harm. Danika and Tru have to rely heavily on their faith in order to survive. Couldn’t put it down until the last word. Received an ARC for an honest review.

It was readable but nothing as I wished it to b. It started out interesting enough (finding a lost Indian artifact) then turned into a oil caper yawn* I guess the cover intrigued me and I thought it might Lara Croft like or Anja Creed even. It wasnt and not even close. The romance was luke warm and he took someone’s word over hers . To me that was being a jerk . Eh just not that good. Quite forgettable actually.

Danika Lewis is a private investigator searching for answers to her father’s death, and the whereabouts of his archaeological artifacts. Posing as a wedding photographer, Danika discovers a lead that takes her to Carlsbad Cavern and to Tru Butler, the man she thinks is responsible for her friend’s death. Action and suspense are waiting inside the earth! Katy Lee does a good job of taking one down inside caves.

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat! It's full of action, suspense, drama and romance. I loved everything about this book: the characters, the setting and the non-stop action. If you are a fan of Christian romantic suspense, you don't want to miss Danika and Tru's story.
I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This really was one of the most unique and exciting LIS in this line. However, the main character does a really BONE HEADED move towards the end and without any reason or sense trusts someone so obviously untrustworthy and that really knocked it down a star. Now I know it was used as a plot device to move it to the conclusion but really stupid scooby doo move and I had to knock a star off.

This is the first book I’ve read by Katy Lee. I loved the premise of the story and the location since I’d been to Carlsbad Caverns. The story kept me hooked and up past my bedtime reading because I wanted to finish it. It has a strong female lead that is a private investigator who meets up with a ranger that was her friend’s fiancée. Reading about caves and rock climbing was educational. The twists and turns in the story made me admire how much goes into creating a suspenseful story with a successful resolution. I received a copy of the book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
