Just a bit about me. I live in Arizona, but for most of the year, I travel across our beautiful earth as a deckhand and yoga instructor in the yachting industry. I love the serenity of the sea, exploring treasured caves, hiking through lush green forests, immersing myself in different cultures, and meeting new friends.

My co-author, Rob Scheer and I have completed two beautifully illustrated, heartfelt children's books. Rob is the Founder and CEO of Comfort Cases. Since 2013, Comfort Cases set out on a mission to eliminate the use of trash bags and provide children entering the foster system with brand new essential and comfort items. To date, Comfort Cases has positively impacted over 110,000 children, and has recently opened a chapter in the United Kingdom. For each book purchased of Lulu and Malek Sail Off to Sea, we will donate one book to Comfort Cases.

My passions are storytelling, child advocacy and conservation. Through diverse ventures, I am able support a variety of children and conservation organizations. My upcoming short-story collection reflects my love and concern for those in need, especially children, across the world. Through suspense and adventure storytelling, it is my greatest hope to give a voice to those who are oppressed, those who suffer, and those who are silenced. I would love to share a quote with you that serves as my storytelling beacon:

“As we look around the world today, we’re confronted with an uncomfortable but undeniable truth: Millions of children’s lives are blighted, for no other reason than the country, the community, the gender or the circumstances into which they are born. Before they draw their first breath, the life chances of poor and excluded children are often being shaped by inequities. Disadvantaged and discrimination against their communities and families will help determine whether they live or die, whether they have a chance to learn and later earn a decent living. Conflicts, crises and climate-related disasters deeper their deprivation and diminish their potential.” — Anthony Lake, Executive Director for the United Children’s Fund

My Thoughts:
As we go on a adventure with Lulu and Malek to see a Whale. As they arrive at the beach they are shocked at all the Rubbish that people have left behind. So they decide to pick up the mess because it’s the right thing to do. After cleaning up they have fun riding on a whales back along with the dolphins but then they come across a fish caught in a net so Lulu and Malek tear up the net to free the fish. This is a cute story with a important message that the children I read it to loved it and I think your will too. The illustration is cute and well done .

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
I love, love Lulu and Malek Sail Off to Sea! by June Foster and Rob Scheer. When Lulu and Malek make their way to the ocean to meet whale, I thought they would play in the ocean, but they spent time making the beach look beautiful by cleaning it up first. This is an excellent way to teach children to clean up wherever they are first, before playing. The three animals had fun the rest of the day playing in the ocean.

Gill Guile does a fantastic job with the illustrations. I love the beautiful vibrant colors inside and on the cover of the book. This beautiful book is great for reading to a classroom or to your children. With the words of the story on each page fitting thebeautiful illustrations so well, the children will love following along with the pictures. I love that kids that are not old enough to read can read the story by the pictures. I encourage you to check out this sweet book for your child’s library. It is also perfect for any elementary school library as well as daycare classrooms.

I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you June Foster and iRead Book Tours. I'm excited to be a part of this tour.

I absolutely loved this laugh out loud funny story! The illustrations are gorgeous and truly capture the emotion of the characters. Their faces and expressions add depth to the story and left me feeling the same feelings with them.

The lessons of the book are timely – the importance of caring for our environment daily, caring for others, and the meaning of friendship. This book serves as a great conversation starter on the importance of sustainability and building those habits from a young age.

The characters are well written and likable. I truly enjoyed taking this adventure with Lulu and Malek, I’ll be gifting this book to my parent friends. I look forward to their next adventure!

This was a fun, bright, and colorful children's book that has a small giraffe and small lion going on adventures together. Lulu and Malek are the best of friends and today they want to go off to sea and see a whale. On their way they meet up with other friends and they also at times come across things that need to be done.

Both on land and in the water, they help to clean up trash that has been left behind. Showing how to happily help others and be good stewards all at once. They never let these chores stop them from having fun or deter them from their dreams. I thought that was a great lesson in itself, to continue to continue to do what you had planned, but also to step up to any challenges that come your way.

At the end, these two best of friends sleep and dream of a new day with new adventures. This is a story that will appeal to young children with the brightness of the art and the cute animals and will appeal to adults with the message of cheerfulness and good will.

I was provided a copy of this book from the author. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

My first read through of the book I got excited about the possibilities for Lulu and Malek sail off to sea! in a classroom situation. Authors June Foster and Rob Scheer include a lot of information in this short book and much of it can be used as a jumping off point for further research on the part of students.. Several different animals are introduced in the book - students could research them to find out more information. The characters encounter trash on the beach as well as in the water - a great jumping off point for instruction on recycling and the damage our trash can do. The book is written for a young audience but I think a teacher could use it with much older students to encourage research or recycling.
Gill Guile’s illustrations combine realistic portrayal of the animals and scenes with a little bit of whimsy to better appeal to young readers/listeners.
Lulu and Malek sail off to sea! would make a great addition to a K-12 Christian library, a classroom library or a family library. It is appropriate for preschoolers through elementary aged children.

Lulu and Malek Sail Off to Sea has everything that kids love, including colorful illustrations, rhyming text, and an exciting adventure to enjoy! In this new book that is both entertaining and educational, authors June N. Foster and Ron Scheer introduce children to two adorable animals. Lulu and Malek are very different but they're still best friends who are eager to see the world around them. Following this cub and giraffe on their journey allows children to learn about new animals in their natural habitats, and when Lulu and Malek work to clean the beach, little ones are reminded that they need to take care of the world around them! After all, it's never too early to learn the importance of recycling and protecting our environment!

Lulu and Malek Sail Off to Sea is a wonderful book to read to your children or grandchildren but it also offers many teaching opportunities for teachers and programming ideas for librarians. I enjoyed reading it myself and I hope that Lulu and Malek have many more adventures in the future!

I received a copy of this book from the authors via iRead Book Tours. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

Lulu and Malek: Sail Off to Sea is an adorable rhyming story of animal friends, Lulu and Malek, and how they both take care of the environment.

This giraffe and cub are so cute (as are the others) and I love how they notice the beauty of their surroundings and take care of the environment without the story feeling preachy. The rhymes have a fun, bouncy feel, the illustrations are charming, and the story is entertaining and adventurous.

This book was soooo adorable! It has all things babies and children would love- endearing illustrations with bright colors, good lessons, rhyming, and easy reading! It’s such a cute story, and my niece absolutely adored it.

The illustrations is a huge selling part for me, and wow these are some of the most adorable ones I’ve ever seen. There’s so many animals involved throughout the story, and it keeps little ones focused throughout, as the bright colors and cute characters grab their attention right away.

From an adult standpoint, I give this book:

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 Stars, and recommend this starting as a read aloud nursery book through beginning elementary grades (preK-3rd grade).
It would be great for both story time or for kids who are learning to read on their own.

My niece when asked, said she LOVED it, and would give it 25 Stars.🤩😂

Huge thanks to @ireadbooktours and @june__foster, and @rob_scheer for giving me a copy in exchange for an honest review.💕

Lulu and Malek, a young lion and giraffe, head out on an adventure at sea helping marine creatures and making new friends along the way. In this wholly-unique adventure, the two friends learn about our underwater world and the dangers of pollution while experiencing life in the ocean. The unexpected juxtaposition of African mammals under water create fun illustrations and imaginative situations — like catching a ride from a pelican! The wonderfully warm illustrations are a pleasure to peruse as children follow along and learn something new about the seas.

This adorable picture book is well-suited for younger children and could be used in classrooms, libraries and homeschools to spark conversations about protecting our oceans.

A sincere thank you to the author and publisher for a copy of the book.

This is an adorable rhyming story of two friends, Lulu and Malek, and their love of the sea. They are shocked and saddened when they see the litter on the beaches and the dangers that lurk below the surface for the creatures in the sea, but they do their part to clean it up.

The illustrations of the animals are colorfully adorable. The story and illustrations will make you laugh out loud. Children are sure to get caught up in Malek and Lulu’s adventures. The message to take of the environment gently comes through and should instill children to care for the environment and to do their part in preserving it.

Hopefully, there will be more books about Lulu and Malek. AND for each book sold a book is donated to Comfort Cases for children entering foster care!

I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy from iRead Book Tours. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

Lulu and Malek are friends who go to the beach to meet a whale. Before playing with the whale all day, they clean up all of the trash on the beach. They have a fun day and don’t have to take a bath since they spent all day in the ocean!

Lulu and Malek sail off to sea! is a cute book about friends who go on an adventure and meet many other animals and see fish, coral, and even a shark. It also teaches about taking care of the earth through picking up trash. It’s told in verse and the illustrations are colorful and adorable. It’s a book children will like, and I can’t wait to read it to my grandkids.
