Cute picture book about animal sounds. Great to use for my Nature Connect story time about animal sounds. Rhyming, tacktile felt/fuzzy bees and bright colorful pictures.
This book's simple rhymes are engaging. It is a useful tool for helping children learn to count as well as learn animal names and sounds. The buzzing sound at the end of the book is a nice surprise. The only reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 is that the illustrations are very busy and sometimes the children have difficulty discerning the animal.
We like this book. But it isn't a favorite like 10 little ladybugs or 8 silly monkeys. However, there are 9 bees, so it kind of fits. The book is still a great read and it helps teach farm animal stuff to the toddler. My 1 year old seems to like it more than the 3 yr old.
Jacob really enjoys hearing all of the animal sounds in this book. He imitates me as I make the noises. He also loves being able to touch the bumpy bees.
Calvin loves to touch the fuzzy bees and tell me how many are left. Fantastic artwork. Tonight was a fun comparison to Eric Carle's The Very Busy Spider. My 4 year old saw the similarities. :)
