WHY IS NOVA ON THE COVER IF HE'S NOT EVEN IN THE DAMN COMIC

This was a bit better than some of the other Marvel's Voices.

I think the American Chavez, Eva Quintero, and Sunspot stories were the best! So fun, sad (for America and Sunspot), and so sweet and able to deliver their messages sincerely! The food stories were short and fun.

I enjoyed the inclusion of the history of the Young Lords the first White Tiger story. The second White Tiger story made me tilt my head. The tiger got under control...because Ava had community? It happened so fast it left little impact. Nina of the Conjurer' story was nice too.

The Miles and Anya story was just a rehash of the Latinx and Latine discussion. Nothing new if you already know about it, but informative for those not knowing. And the Ghost Rider story...I know what it was trying to do, and it's still an important message. But really? The racist bad guys have "H8" on their shirts and signs? Really?

I really wanted to like the Risque story, because she's Cuban like me! It wasn't a bad story, just once again brevity hurt this story's progression. The underwater sea creatures just let her go, like that? Their leader just assumes she's harmless? It's overall and less than obvious message about colonialism.

I liked the second Miles Morales story especially showcasing New York's Puerto Rican culture. Liked seeing Miles and Black Panther interacting with each other.

Overall, the art's pretty good across each story. Some weak ones but nothing that makes my eyes burn. But seriously, why no Sam Alexander?

As a Latine Immigrant of Colombian heritage, who has ALWAYS struggled with the "Ni de aqui, ni de alla" that comes with it, being able to read this collective of LatinX Superheroes, from my favourite comic book publisher, and to see our voices and our stories represented in these panels was very warming, and honestly a little life changing.

Seeing how food plays a role in our lives, how families and comunidades mean so much to us, and how I feel some of my own personal struggles represented in the pages of this anthology gave me so much pride as a queer latine immigrant, who has always felt othered, to strive for more and to be a better and more active member of our communities.

This was increible. To all of my LatinX/Latine friedns, familia and loved ones: read this! It will give you so many great feels and so much orgullo. XOXO

Latino is both male and neutral so there really is no need for latinx or latine. Wasn’t there a survey that said only 2% of Latinos agree with latinx so why put it. This cómic was mostly made for Latinos that live in the US not those living in Latin America. In one cómic there were 0 words in Spanish like what, we mostly talk Spanglish here and there and for there to be 0 wires in Spanish us not correct representation. There are like 5 countries being represented when there are 17 in continental Latin America and the same ones are being repeated again and again when instead they could use Guatemala, Honduras, Argentina but they reuse Mexico, DR, and Brazil.

Like a lot of the Marvel's Voices anthologies, the extent to which the different stories will connect with you and your experiences will vary. I really liked the America Chavez story, which saw our heroine engaging in a very heartfelt conversation with her Dad about his mistakes when raising her. It felt like a real conversation that you'd hear a father and his grown-up daughter having after a particularly tough day at work. I also liked the Shark Girl/Namor team-up--what can I say, I'm a sucker for an unlikely duo of misfits.

The art was beautiful throughout, but I felt that Israel Silva deserved a special shout-out for the colors in "Secret Savior." The green energy crackle around our villain made everything look epic in scale.

Like some of the other books in this series, I'm a little torn about whether to recommend this to a newer reader. Many of the stories are very good and I genuinely enjoyed my time reading them. That said, the book often assumes that you pretty much know each character's "deal" and the short nature of the stories doesn't allow for much background. The stories being so short also sometimes means that they quickly devolve into elaborate set-ups for a joke or vignettes that end REALLY abruptly. I think if you go into it with the idea that these are charming little stories and that the point is to see some fun characters doing things, then you'll enjoy the book quite a bit.

A great collection of Latinx voices and characters in the Marvel universe...

The cover art is meant to show the scope of the characters they have to work with, it isn't necessarily an ad for the internal stories.

This collection was SO well written. Engaging and enlightening stories with some great voices we seldom hear from.

Bonus: Check out Miles Morales' new? suit

A fun collection of stories that really gives you a look at different aspects of the Latinx culture (whether U.S. or international). I very much enjoyed being introduced to a few newer characters I would love to see more of (particularly Eva Quintero and Reptil) while also having some of the bigger characters (like America Chavez and Miles Morales) also included for good measure. Another great issue in the Marvel Voices series.

Loved it

Beautiful collection of representation. Very much enjoyed each and every story, character and how they differ from one another but carry the same heart of familia.
