Instead of getting married at St. Andrew’s Church, runaway groom Grant Gerritsen is throwing back shots at the Whistling Dragon to forget his bride-to-be. He’s nursing his angry, broken heart alone in the New Year’s Eve crowd…

Until supposed-to-be bridesmaid Zoey Voss shows up at the Whistling Dragon desperate for a phone to call a cab to get back to her hotel.

When Grant saves his ex-fianceé’s childhood friend from an unkempt stranger at the bar, a night of flirty, fun adventure begins. Will Grant and Zoey kindle a friendship of their own or are their escapades just a New Year’s Eve fling

Lawd, a runaway groom. Well I never an you never will without just cause. Grant Gerritsen ends up in the closest bar filled with shame guilt an regret for leaving his self centered college sweetheart at the altar. In walks one of her Bridesmaids. What turned out a night for tequilas turned into beer an then water as he got to know his rejected’s long lost friend. Right when this novel picked up it was over. It was much to short perhaps leaving the door open for a novella. Merry Christmas..stranger things have happened. Great novel. Reviewed for an ARC.

The run away groom and the p***ed off bridesmaid run into each other in the Whistling Dragon bar where he went to get drunk and she to phone a uber. They decide to spend the night together partying. They proceed to playing games ,sharing their dislike of the bride ,talking and flirting and all of this before crashing a party and spending a steamy night together. The author does a great job painting the scenes and moving the story quickly and smoothly. It's a fun and steamy story and I enjoyed reading.

Getting Your Mind Off Things . . .

Grant was getting married at St. Andrew’s when he discovered his bride, Noelle, being unfaithful with one of the groomsmen. He wisely left her there and tried to drown his anger and pain at a bar.

Zoey Voss, one of the bridesmaids from the wedding-that-didn’t-happen comes into the bar, hoping to find a phone to call a cab. Grant and Zoey ended up drinking together, crashing a party, and a number of other activities to lighten up the evening. They did make it to bed, but the story ends rather abruptly. It is then up to the reader’s imagination whether they will continue on into a relationship or just enjoy their New Year’s Eve one-time fling.

Excellent introduction to a new author…just enough to whet my appetite and make me wish to read another of this author’s books soon!

What I liked:
* The runaway groom idea/genre
* Grant: a nice guy with the wrong woman who woke up just in time
* Zoey: a nice woman there to help Grant through a tough evening
* The fun the two had on New Year’s Eve
* Having just enough information about Bridezilla Noelle who sounded like a “piece of work” most hours of the day
* Wondering what crashing a New Year’s Eve party might be like
* That though a short novella length story, it packed a punch, made me feel, and care
* Being left with the desire to know more about the characters…if the author was so inclined to share in the future

What I didn’t like:
* Noelle: selfish, unkind, not someone I would want as a friend, wishing her the karma she deserves
* Not knowing for SURE what the future holds in store for Zoey and Grant

Did I enjoy this story? Yes!
Would I read more by this author? Definitely!

Thank you to IndiePenPR and the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

New Year’s Eve is all about sipping champagne, counting down the final minutes of the old year and midnight kisses. But for Grant and Zoey, the night is filled with so much more. You’ve got to read Toasted – A New Year’s Eve Novella by Tracy Broemmer.
I loved the set up for this story. Immediately, Ms. Broemmer grabs your attention and drags you along for a wild night of fun and a sexy romp at midnight! Even though Toasted is a novella, the characters are well defined and believable and there is a solid beginning, middle, and end to the story.
Entertaining with a healthy dose of steam, I wanted the story of Grant and Zoey to be a full-length novel! I highly recommend this one! — Kate Carley, author of The Changing Krysset Series

Very short set-up to a romance! I hope there is another book about these two characters, whom we get to know a little and like a lot. A sweet fantasy of what might happen when a groom wises up at the last minute and runs, then finds one of the bridesmaids did the same. They unite over dislike of the bride and spontaneous fun on New Year's Eve. They flirt and have fabulous sex, then she leaves. Is that it? I hope not.

Grant found his bride doing the dirty with the groomsman and leaves his wedding. He ends up at a bar with a bridesmaid. Neither of them can find one good thing to say about Noelle, his ex, who is portrayed as the ultimate mean girl. Zoey and Grant have a wild night involving crashed cars, crashed parties, pinball and frozen nipples. This novelette is a quick, easy read that ends in a Fun-While-It-Lasted but the note at the end promises more so maybe it is a prequel to a One-Who-Got-Away story or possibly a Secret Baby one.

Zoey Voss one of the bridesmaid also is angry with the bride and also walked away from the wedding. They meet by accident at the Whistling Dragon. It is New Years eve so they spend time together. Grant is about to get married but when he finds his groomsmen with his future wife Noelle; he turns into the runaway groom. He ends up at the Whistling Dragon bar where he finds Zoe who was the bridesmaid and friend of Noelle; escaping a wedding that is no longer happening. One would think that Zoey and Grant are the bride and groom with the wild, crazy passionate night that the two share.

Is there a wedding in the future for Zoe and Grant, will Noelle and her new found relationship fizzle and burn, will she want Grant back, will Grant go back, how will Noelle react when she finds out about Zoe and Grant? Oh you will definitely want to read Toasted for answers.

The main characters come together under a cancelled wedding on New Year's Day. Grant is the runaway groom who is in the bar shooting back drinks to forget about the wedding. Tracy is the bridesmaid that comes into the same bar where Grant is at and hoping to get an Uber to the hotel. They come together after an incident. Will they hookup or stop themselves before doing something they may regret? This story is short and will be good read to relax with after a hard day.

Well, this is an interesting twist on dumped at the alter. I can't say I blame the run away groom. Myself, I think he dodged the bullet on that farce of a marriage. He runs and ends up in a bar only to be surprised to see the best friend of his now ex-fiancée. Zoey and Grant strike up a conversation that leads to so much more. This is a fun read and a good escaped! I love the characters and the banter! I just wanted more!!

Grant heads to the closest bar after leaving the church where he was to marry his college sweetheart. He's finally had enough of being on the receiving end of her bad behaviour. When one of her bridesmaids walk into the same bar, his night suddenly has potential to become great.

I was right into the story when... It. Just. Stopped. I dunno, but I felt like I crashed, and fell off my chair at the abrupt end. Hopefully, there's a longer continuation to this story that doesn't just drop off like a cliff somewhere in the near future.

A nice story that follows Garrett as the runaway groom who finds out his would be bride was cheating on him on their wedding day so he decided to leave without telling anyone. The bridesmaid Zoey ends up at the same bar where Garett is and he ends up saving her so they formed a good bond through the night. I wished the story was a little longer as I liked both characters and felt like their chemistry and story needed more in the end.

Who is Noelle? Where is she? What is supposed to be happening? Who is Grant? Where is he at and where are they each from? Where does Grant end up? Who are Marcus, Zoey, and Porter? How does Grant know each of them or meet them? What happens when Zoey takes off without her things? Where does she end up? Read and see how things get and who gets hot and heavy! I hope to find more of these folks in the future!

Toasted by Tracy Broemmer. Runaway groom Grant really did dodge a bullet with Noelle and fate brings Zoey into the same bar he finds himself in during is hasty escape. Good story with a night of spontaneity, heat, and I would like to believe remorse. With this ending, one will never know. My fingers are crossed that we will see more of Grant and Zoey soon. After finding his to-be bride with his groomsmen, Grant, escapes to a bar and meets Zoey, who was a bridesmaid and has also escaped the non wedding. They enjoyed New Year's Eve together. The book was good, I did not enjoy the abrupt ending. I hope there is more to come from them.

Short but great story. Grant runs as far as he can , away from his bride to be. Instead he meets one of the bridesmaids. Is this a fun romance or the real thing. Enjoyable.

I really enjoyed reading about the runaway groom and runaway bridesmaid...now before you get any negative opinions of these two, make sure you read this quick and fun New Year's Eve story about Grant and Zoey and then make up your minds. Tracy does a fantastic job of taking you along for the ride with them as they "bump" into each other at a bar and then take an Uber ride that doesn't go very smoothly and then crash a house party. The only bad thing I can say about this story is that I want more Grant and Zoey and hope she's planning a full length novel in the near future for them!

Grant was at the church to marry Noelle when he caught her with one of the groomsmen. He left and went to a bar. A little while later, Zoey turns up. She was one of the bridesmaids. They proceeded to drink alot, play some games, go for pizza, crash a party and end up in bed. That's a lot of adventures in one night. The story was fast paced, the sex was hot and I want more of their story.

I really enjoyed the New Years Eve story of Grant and Zoey. It was one of those wacky “what else could happen” situations that flows the way you would expect. I thought the premise was great and really just wished there was more. I gave the book 4 stars because it didn’t grab me in a “can’t put it down” way. I really hope there is more to Grant and Zoey’s story and really hope part of that is putting Noelle in her place. Highly recommend if you are looking for a steamy cozy read to ring in the new year.

Grant leaves his bride at the altar. For a very good reason. Zoey, a bridesmaid, is a childhood friend of the bride, but they're not as close any more. They meet up at a nearby bar, and have quite an adventure, an amazing, hilarious, steamy New Year's Eve. They're united by virtue of them both being not a fan of the bride. I loved everything about the book. Right up until the ending. No spoilers from me, but I was disappointed. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I liked the humour, it was like seeing an accident and not being able to look away. What else could go wrong! My issue was 90% of the book was building anticipation for something that was over so quick and there was no resolution
