Marigold Island #8

Beachside Treasures

Rate this book
As winter turns to spring on Marigold island, new beginnings and fresh possibilities are everywhere!
Brooke and Hunter are preparing for their wedding day, eager to tie the knot before he leaves to shoot his next movie. They’ve both agreed they want to keep the ceremony small and simple, but Hunter can’t resist planning a little surprise for the woman of his dreams.

Single mother Kinsey Haling has been struggling ever since her husband passed away. Although she’s managed to keep her event planning business afloat, she’s just going through the motions.

But when Brooke and Hunter recruit her to help with their wedding, she has to work closely with local carpenter Harrison Peters on the upcoming event. To her surprise, they have a lot in common, and she finds herself smiling and laughing for the first time in months.

Her heart is starting to open up again, but can she really take the leap into a new relationship when she has her daughter and her business to think about?

Meanwhile, Millie and Carl are thinking about adopting a puppy, and Lydia and Angela decide to make some improvements to the inn. Patrick is trying to finish his first beachy romance book, but he’s hit an unexpected bout of writer’s block and can’t figure out how to get past it.

There's something missing. He's sure of it. But what?

Come dip your toes in the crystal blue waters of Marigold Island, a fictional island town tucked in next to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. This heartwarming and uplifting women’s fiction will sweep you away (and it might make you a little hungry too)!

I read all 8 (yes, 8) of these books. I gave them all about 2 stars each, but I want to say that these books are not bad... they are just really vanilla. The stories are a mindless read - good beach reads I suppose - and the character development is good - which is probably why I kept going even though you know exactly how it will end. The overuse of the word "groaning" when talking about food was a bit annoying - but kind of comical. There are no sex scenes (which is fine) except the ones when the author is describing food and people's reactions. If I have to read how some kind of (insert food here) is so "incredible" or that the character "groans with delight at every bite". gah. I think it comes down to it's just not my cup of tea, but others may really enjoy it. Everyone wins in these books - there are no "losers" and any sort of conflict in the books is hyped up but is usually a minor non-issue. Vanilla. Again, nothing wrong with the books if you like vanilla. I just didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed other books/genres.

The last book in the series ends on a high note. This one focuses on the relationship between Harrison and Kinsey. Goodbye, my friends.

Beachside Treasures was an excellent finale in The Marigold Island series.

Brooke and Hunter's wedding was the best way to end this last book in the series. Patrick found a very endearing way to involve family and friends when he proposed to Angela. Millie and Carl decided to adopt a dog and are really enjoying spending time together. Kinsey is attracted to Harrison, but after losing her husband's early she is afraid to love again, but even as scary as it is ....She has decided to take a chance and love Harrison. Besides, her little girl loves him too.

If you look at my account, you will see that I read the eight books in this Beachside series. These books intertwine, but at the same time I think they could also stand alone. They are quick reads, and sometimes predictable. They are all feel good stories. While the author alludes to previous books in the series, you don’t feel like you’re rereading the book before in order to continue the story. That is definitely a positive!

kind storylines, easy read

The characters are portrayed as kind, compassionate people who care about their family, friends and community without bickering, resentment or envy. The stories resolve sweetly, without graphic descriptions of activities which should be personal and private. Thank you to this author for writing an easily read series.

consistently Inviting

Just finished reading this, number 8 in the series, and have enjoyed each one. Each book was filled with very likable, down-to-earth folks from a wide range of backgrounds and careers. Starting over was the consistent theme which took many different twists and turns among family and friends. Lots of love to share !
Now, I’m on to Fiona’s next series.

This series got monotonous, book 7 was a recap of books 1-6. Book 8 was refreshing, an actual story line. It’s like a sitcom, who will fall in or out of love with what person. Each book a different show. I will think twice about purchasing her books again. It was a very clean romance though so that was nice, no unnecessary bedroom scenes.

I enjoyed this series very much. The people were real and caring . Marigold Island seems like a good place to live where women in business thrive and families love and support each other.

Happy endings are the best!!

I read the entire series and hated to see it end. Each book told the perfect story of happiness and love, something that is lacking in our real world today.
Only one regret, the books weren't long enough!!

sweet

Easy read! I loved the way the story of the characters in the previous books continued to develop in the new books. I liked the wedding of Hunter and Brooke. The description of the atmosphere of the event almost made me feel that I was one of the guests.

I loved everything about this book except Patrick's proposal. it seemed weird and out of character for him. Also.. it wasn't very well described, but even so I just wanted to skim over it.

Wonderful story

This is a great series. No huge drama or made up drama. Just several feel good love stories in one book. No sex, no cursing just fun and gentle stories.
