A game-changing investment opportunity has fallen into the Cade brothers’ laps, and Jay Cade has the skills to take it and turn his family’s Ranch into an equine therapy destination, but what he doesn’t have is the courage to take the reins from his oldest brother, Jack.

Until Billie Acker stomps back into his life.

Billie’s beautiful, smart, and not sorry about it. Or at least, that’s what she wants everyone to believe, but the truth is that she’s alone, and she has been for a long time. A hacker by trade, she’s a master at finding people who don’t want to be found, and she’ll take any excuse to see sexy Jay Cade again.

When the Cades' millionaire investor mysteriously goes missing, Billie and Jay set out to find him, but they discover more than they thought they would on the road. They find family, friendship, and love.

But Billie has a firewall of her own to keep people at bay, and if Jay can’t find the courage to break through it, she’ll be the one disappearing...

The fourth book in The Cade Ranch Series, Braved, is a curvy, sex-fueled, road trip romance about finding courage in the most unlikely places and following it home…

Trigger warning: heavy themes of parental abandonment, family loss, and family history of sexual abuse and suicide are present in this story, but there is a guaranteed HEA. You’ll laugh, you'll cry, and you’ll get mad as hell, but you’ll be smiling by the end and begging for the next book! For 18+ readers.

5 starts of angsty deliciousness! GRW has done it again (and again, and again...)!

This is an amazing journey of personal growth, courage, and sexy, burning desire. Both Jay and Billie have to go through so much sh*t to learn their lessons, and it was truly a pleasure to follow them along the way. Their struggles make their HEA that much sweeter and that much spicier.

Now I cannot WAIT for Finn! Attention all: Finn is mine, I'm warning you in advance.

5 stars!!

I was really excited to be back with the Cade men and read Jay and Billie's story. When Aislinn's brother Theo goes missing, Billie and Jay take a road trip together to find him and put the pieces of the puzzle together of where he is and why he is missing. Theo is an important part of the funding for the Cade's business venture that Jay has put his soul into putting together. Without Theo, the idea of a therapeutic riding program for their ranch could fall through and they'd never see it come to fruition.

Traveling together, Billie and Jay get WAY more than they expected from each other. Will they find Theo and solve the mystery? What will happen between Billie and Jay?

Billie oozes confidence, wit and sarcasm but she also wields these traits as shields to hide the loneliness she feels and the flaws she thinks she possesses. She is stealthy in smothering parts of herself with humor and an occasional bad attitude so people only see what she wants them to see. But those parts that a painful past has shaped her into makes her even more beautiful. And Jay knows that without a doubt. He sees HER. All of the good...and all of the bad she painstakingly tries to hide. Her character was so relatable and being in her head was such a treat because of her complex emotions and thoughts. She is unapologetically bold, hilariously deviant and can light up a room with her energy. She is also cold and rude when she is afraid but I loved her for her realistic reactions to what life throws at her.

Jay...o baby Jay...that man has spent most of his life in the background. But Billie SEES him. He spends so much time being something...someone...for everyone else. He's a little self deprecating, a tad self-conscious, hella passionate and a whole lot of alpha sweet. Normally I'd think his personality was too shy but Greta made him such an endearing character that you can't help but love him. While he may seem reserved on the outside...let me tell you that man was deliciously dirty in his mind and in the bedroom. His character evolved so wonderfully!

Billie and Jay were not perfect together at first and I'd argue that had either not been willing to do a little self reflecting that they wouldn't have seen how good they could be. But Greta did an amazing job at developing their relationship. Billie and Jay had this special way of building each other up even when they had to give it to each other straight. I couldn't get enough of the two of them. I'll add that Greta is the queen of writing sexual tension and I loved the tease to their first intimate encounter. Those intimate scenes between the two of them were raw and so full of trust and passion.

Every book in this series just gets better and better. This story was angsty as hell and heavy at times but so worth the journey. The topics discussed were tastefully written and there was a unique depth to the whole story. This wasn't just a story about two people finding each other but also finding themselves and learning to accept every part of the joy and pain that life brings. It was a beautiful story about personal growth and finding your person. While the romance was front stage, the mystery surrounding Theo was well written and suspenseful. Braved was the perfect balance of romance and suspense.

Finally, since I can't seem to shut my mouth about how much I loved this book...I almost never cry reading books but Greta has now reduced me to a blubbering mess not one, not two but four times now. Just read this. For reals.

Side note: I am so excited to get my hands on Aislinn's book. I love reading about an apparent ice queen who melts for the right man. And Finn. My God that man is going to make me melt.

Damn you,Greta Rose, for making me cry!
Because Jay’ and Billie’s story was heartbreaking at times.
But thank you too,for making it better again!
Because their story was só beautiful too.
This series is already só good, and gets better with each new addition.
I feel so lucky getting the ARC’s,and catching up with the Cade family is great!
Hearing how everyone is doing, finding out where they are in their lives…

Carey brings Aislinn to the Cade ranch at her brother Theo’s request.
And because he’s gone AWOL,he’s asked Billie to look into it.
Jay hasn’t stopped thinking about her ever since she helped with Evvie.
Because that girl? She’s the one for him,and he’d do anything to make her his…..if only he knew how..
If only he knew what to say, what to do,to show her how he feels!
When Billie states she wants to follow Theo in order to help him,he jumps at the opportunity to join her.
Finally,he gets a chance at being useful and needed for the first time in his life!
The more time they spend together, the more he sees glimpses of the Billie behind the mask.
A Billie he knows is vulnerable, and afraid to let people in.
And every time he catches that vulnerable girl peeking out,she slams the door and pushes him away.
But he’s not going to give up!
Until they dó catch up with Theo, and things get out of control…..

Billie likes Jay,but with her past she’s sure there’s no chance in hell he’s going to want to be with her. Because it’s ugly,it’s messy, and it hurts só much….the reasons why,and the way how she lost her sister still haunts her today
Using a mask,a certain attitude,to shield her vulnerabilities, has worked só good, she doesn’t know how to turn it off.
And going on this trip, this hunt for Theo, together may sound like a great opportunity to shag him,but she’s not going to let him in! No way….
Only, the more she sees of him,the harder it becomes to keep her walls up.
Until she nearly loses him….

These two had a lot of baggage, pain and insecurities!
Jay felt unwanted,unneeded and unsuccessful.
Billie felt abandoned,unloved and undesirable.
Both needed someone to help them find a way to be brave enough to take a chance.
On reaching out and showing their vulnerable side.

To be brave enough to take a chance on love….

Greta Rose painted their picture perfectly, with a lot of tlc.
She made me cry,she gave me hope and a second later crushed it….only to make it up with the most beautiful end.
And she made me love every second of it!

All i need now,is Finn and Aislinn’s story……

Is there anything hotter than the quiet, unassuming guy taking charge? Enter Jay Cade and get your fans ready because this smart, sexy cowboy DELIVERS!

Billie Acker is a handful, to say the least. She’s feisty and not at all afraid to tell you what she thinks. But her hard exterior only serves to protect the gooey center, which absolutely melts for Jay (I mean, duh who wouldn’t?), even though she tries to deny it.

I loved the way these two interacted and the way they pushed each other to grow. They’re a perfect balance and watching them figure it out was a treat. When Jay finally has enough of Billie’s crap...well... let’s just say, it's my favorite part of the book.

If you’re ready for a heartwarming tale of the quiet and intelligent cowboy vs. the gothic hacker with a smart mouth, then you’ll love Braved! You don’t have to read the other books in the series to enjoy it, but I don’t know why you’d ever deny yourself the opportunity to start at the beginning of Greta’s Cade Ranch Series. You won’t be disappointed!

I received an advanced reader copy and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Funny, Flirty & Sexy Cowboys - yes please!

This was my first introduction to Greta Rose West's Cade Ranch series and I'm happy to report that even though the book is part of a series, it was a great standalone read as well.

Billie and Jay's story is full of angst and action, with plenty of laugh out loud moments. I guess that's what happens when two loners, one a talented, irreverent hacker chick, and the other the 'baby' cowboy of the family get together. Never have two people been meant for each other like these two.

When Billie is called in to investigate the disappearance of a man tied to the family, she and Jay follow the clues leading them to all sorts of action... and then some!

This is a page-turner not to be missed, y'all.

I love this series, and can’t wait to read Blinded which is next in the series.
However, with this book I struggled to connect with our two main characters Jay and Billie, although they’ve been in previous books, for some reason I just couldn’t connect with their story.
Enjoyable read, and great catching up with the Cade brothers & family.

Braved by Greta Rose West
7/5
Braved is the fourth book in the Cade Ranch series, it takes the Cade Ranch series to a whole new level of action, angst, and adventure. I swear every book just keeps getting better. Greta is an incredible author and the queen of angst and sexual tension.

Jay is the baby of the family but in charge of the new equine therapy renovations and business aspects for the ranch. He is finally stepping up and taking his main role on the ranch. However, the investor for Jay’s new project goes missing. Without the investor, the brothers will never be able to turn Cade Ranch into their equine therapy destination.

Enter Billie Acker. Billie is a hacker who excels at finding people and she believes this job will be easy. On the outside, she has mastered resting bitch face, confidence, sarcasm, and wit. Throughout the earlier books in the series, you get a brief glance at Billie’s growing crush and attraction for Jay Cade. I felt a strong connection to Billie, in a way we are a lot alike in our insecurities and anxiety. It is not often that I have such an intense connection with the lead female character, but I think I found my latest book girlfriend.

Billie and Jay end up on a road trip tracking the Cade brother’s missing investor. I loved the road trip atmosphere throughout the whole book. The motel stops, fast food, diners, all go by in a blur of Billie hacking away at her computer and Jay driving from lead to lead. The tension between Billie and Jay is palpable as they learn how to exist around each other.

Jay, or Baby Jay as his brothers call him, is self-deprecating, unsure about himself, sweet, and passionate. When Jay sets his mind on something or someone there is no stopping him. Jay comes off as shy, but Billie makes him come out and face her. I loved Jay’s POV. As a female, it is always fun to read the detailed and naughty thoughts going through the other sex’s mind. Jay has an active imagination and it is incredible to see it played out.

I also really enjoyed the relationship between Billie and Jay is bubbling over with lust, unspoken emotion, and lack of confidence. Both Billie and Jay are unsure of themselves in their own way. Billie puts on a brave face for the world but she is and has always been lonely and self-conscious about her body. Jay faces some of the same problems, he is finally taking the reigns at the ranch but he has no clue about women. He doesn’t know how to show Billie how he feels. There is a constant push and pull between them. Billie wants Jay and Jay want Billie but neither of them knows how to acknowledge it.

Any of the Cade Ranch books can be read as standalones, but I love reading from the beginning and getting to know all of the characters. Overall, if you love a cowboy romance with lust, action, romance, computer hacking, and a fun road trip this book is for you. I highly recommend this book (and all Greta’s work).

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
STEAM: 🔥🔥🔥.5

If I could be any character in the Cade Ranch series, I would say without hesitation that I am a Billie. Mostly because she is one sassy and smart lady, but also I get a Jay as a bonus and that's not a bad deal.

Jay just needs a break from the ranch. He feels like a fish out of water, even among his brothers, and he also feels like his business degree has not been put to good use at the ranch. When an opportunity arises to get some time on the road, especially with the curvaceous woman of his dreams, Jay jumps at the chance.

Billie has been called back to the Cade Ranch to help investigate a missing person case. As part of the search, she has to go to California, and her Cade crush Jay has volunteered to be her road trip buddy. What could possibly happen on this trip?

I love these two so much. Every time I say "this is my favorite Cade Ranch couple," Greta Rose West always levels up the next one. I love the shy flirting between the two. While Billie is definitely the blunter one in this duo, Jay complements her nicely with his sweetness. Their chemistry is absolutely sizzling.

I also enjoyed the mystery in this book. West did a great job of striking the right balance among romance, angst, spice, suspense, and action, which made for a great reading pace.

This book is the fourth in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. I have to say that this series has definitely gone quickly for me, and I am sad that I have only one more Cade brother love story to go.

REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Braved by Greta Rose West is book four in The Cade Ranch series following five hunky Wyoming horse ranchers. Finally Jay Cade gets his book. Jay has lots of ideas to grow the family ranch but he has yet to summon the courage to go head to head with his older brothers. But everything begin to change for Jay when Billie Acker, a beautiful and spunky computer hacker, waltzes back into town. Billie’s greatest skill is locating people, so she is in town to assist the local sheriff in finding the Cade’s missing millionaire investor. This quest leads Jay and Billie on a road trip where they find far more than just a missing person. ⠀

Jay Cade has been given his chance to shine, and shine he does. As always, the books in this series never fail to run the reader through the full gamut of emotions. There is no shortage of fun, wit and wildly passionate sex but the author also tackles some heavier subject matter such as suicide and sexual abuse. Since book one, this series has gone deeper than just passion and sex, and that is the prime reason her readers keep coming back for more. The characters of Jay and Billie are complex, complicated and conflicted which makes them believable and authentic. And of course, none of Ms. West’s books are complete without a healthy dose of suspense and mystery. It is going to be hard to wait until spring to get to read Finn’s story. ⠀

Boom! Greta Rose West has absolutely done it again!
The Cade Ranch series is like a second skin for me. This family and their surrounding peeps have absolutely stolen my heart and I can't get enough of them (GRW please note.. this means I'm going to need a spin off or second generation because I will refuse to let me go 😂).

Braved is Jay and Billie's story and O.M.G. I didn't think anyone would come close to my boys Kev and Luuk but.............
"You make me feel brave, Billie." (Oh My Heart)
Jay and Billie may just be my new fav Cade Ranch couple.
Jay is an absolute sweetheart. He is gorgeous, shy, sweet, and gentle but damn he could also bring the steam 😉.
And Billie our heroine I adored. She's closet sweet, curvy, snarky, sassy and yet has some insecurities that make her relatable and likeable.
I adored the emotional rollercoaster ride of Billie and Jay. Their story which I absolutely devoured was angsty, emotional, endearing, heartwarming, heartbreaking, a touch steamy, and a little suspenseful with a sprinkling of action.

Braved is another beautifully written story by Greta Rose West. I absolutely adore this series and can't recommend it enough.
Now I wait not so patiently for Jay's story! It's going to be soooooooo good.
10 out of 5 stars!!!

Braved is the fourth book of The Cade Ranch series by Greta Rose West. It is a cowboy romance full of suspense and amazing characters.

Jay Cade is the youngest of the Cade brothers and he is also the most self-doubting and uncomfortable with his work at the ranch. Billie was introduced in the first book and now we had an up close and personal display of all of her personal doubts and dramas. And, on book four, they have a rode trip to make where they will have to deal with their feeling for each other one way or another.

This book comes with a trigger warning, as it should, since the story is full of angst and with all the characters revealing their problematic backgrounds but it has a happily ever after. It is a book about forgiveness, self-love and learning to find our inner strength.

It can be read as a standalone but I strongly recommend you read the series in order, since you will fall even more in love with these brothers as you learn more about them and see them surprise us and blossom.

The middle sibling is generally neglected or fades into background.
Jay Cade is one of the middle siblings in a large family of boys.
Billie is a hacker who has her own demons and secrets.
Both of them take a road trip to uncover a mystery and unexpected fall in love.
Both were very different from each other and yet SEE each other for who they were.both had abandonment issues.
Billie has self esteem issues ,she feels herself unworthy of love.
So many twists and turns and the series just got better.
Waiting for Finn now

Every time I read one of Greta Rose West’s books in the Cade Ranch Series it becomes a favorite, and Braved is no exception. That being said, I honestly think it is my favorite in the series (well maybe book one, how to decide?). Jay is different than his brothers, he lives more in thought where his brothers live more physically. Jay is very gentlemanly and sweet, and very sexy once paired with Billie on an adventure. She brings out confidence and courage in him, and he brings out softness and safety in her. This world grows more beautiful and full with each book

What’s better than a hunky cowboy? A tough as nails woman owning him.

Jay Cade is a shy polite cowboy with a fancy business degree, ready to make big changes to his family’s horse ranch. Only problem is he doesn’t know how to break the news to his four older brothers he’ll be taking over the business end of their ranch life. When their biggest investor ends up missing, the sheriff calls in a friend for help. And this friend happens to be one beautiful Emo hacker with rock hard exterior and rude attitude named Billie.

When Billie discovers their missing investor is on the run, her and Jay hit the road, tracking him down. Where Jay is patient and quiet, Billie makes up for it with her bossy impatience to get to the bottom of the case. Though they come from different worlds and opposite mindsets, these two can’t help being attracted to each other. But can Jay handle a relationship with a take-charge woman when he can’t even stand up for himself? Can Billie set aside her past trauma and lower her mask in order to finally let love in?

I loved the conflicting differences between these two characters—it was a perfect example demonstrating opposites attract. The backstory on these characters explained why these characters are the way they are. The suspense with the investigation kept you turning the pages. The humor was delightful—Billie’s snark had me cackling the whole time. And the spice…oh my, the spice.🥵

Spoiler Alert: Don’t read further if you don’t want them.

My favorite part of this story is the heroine saving the day in one hilarious visual of a goth chick riding in bareback on a horse, wielding a tree branch like a beating stick while screaming a battle cry. Chef’s kiss! We need more tough women in romance rescuing the heroes.

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🚩 Check TWs

Braved by Greta Rose West (The Cade Ranch, bk 4) is about the youngest Cade brother, Jay, and the white hat hacker, Billie, who's helped his family out in the recent past.

Jay had a vision for how the family horse ranch could expand, helping others in the process via equine therapy, but he didn't yet have the confidence to assert control to fully implement his ideas.

Enter Billie, whose quick wit, somstimes brutal honesty and undeniable attraction to him, help Jay to realise he is important and does have what it takes to be in charge.

As the two hit the road to find Jay's missing angel investor, they finally give in to their mutual attraction, and it was *hot*. In the process, Billie's body issues and childhood traumas come to the fore. Jay is a very supportive presence, which really helps Billie to realise how much her past is holding her back from happiness.

I love how these two individually and together worked through their issues to both become better versions of themselves, and to be with one another.

😊🐎💖 Special mention has to go to Buster the horse. You'll know why when you get to that part of the book.

Jay is the Cade baby, the youngest of five brothers. He has always felt like he's unnecessary and no one thinks he can achieve anything. This translates into him being quiet and shy. Billie is the rude and brash hacker who steps up to help when their investor goes missing. They are opposites but drawn to each other. He needs her sarcasm to challenge him and she needs his steadiness to calm her. They both have emotional walls and Billie's are much higher and stronger.

This has angst, danger and heat. Buster the horse was a wonderful addition. One more Cade brother to go. I can't wait to read Finn's story.

This is the fourth book in the Cade Ranch series and follows the youngest Cade brother Jay and Billie Acker a hacker who is called in to help find a missing person. The search takes them on a road trip that is anything but easy.

Like the other books in the Cade ranch series, the storyline flows very smoothly with some twists I didn’t expect. It made the book hard to put down!

I love the relationship between the Cade brothers. It seems to get better with each book. The banter will keep you smiling/laughing!

With a game-changing investment opportunity and Jay Cade’s skills, the Cade family ranch is on the verge of starting its transformation into an equine therapy destination, but Jay doesn’t have the courage to take the reins from his oldest brother’s hands until Billie—the hacker who crashed into his life the previous year—crashes into it again. Billie’s beautiful, smart, and not sorry about it—wearing her confidence as a mask, no one knows that she’s been alone in the world for far too long. When the ranch’s millionaire investor goes missing in mysterious circumstances, leaving his distraught, blind sister in the Cade family’s care, Billie and Jay set out to search for him. On the road together, the tension between them sizzles and sparks, but Billie has the world’s strongest firewall around her heart, and if Jay can’t find his way through, she’ll be the one disappearing.

Although Braved didn’t carry the same tension or intensity as Burned, I enjoyed the mystery aspect of the novel; it created an interesting setting for the romance and carries the overarching plot well. I tried really hard to like FMC Billie—she’s sassy, snarky, and smart, and usually she’s the exact type of FMC that I love—but, even understanding that she had serious issues to work through, how she treated MMC Jay was awful and put me way off at times. If not for my strong investment in Jay’s story, his development, and the overall Cade Ranch journey, I’m not sure I’d have continued. That being said, the character growth is solid, especially in the latter half, redeeming much of the ill feeling I had towards aspects of the narrative. Jay is an intriguing character, and I enjoyed seeing his progress and, as always, loved the interactions between the Cade boys. Whilst not my favourite of the series, Braved ultimately sets up a solid foundation for the finale, Blinded.

Away from the ranch

Away from the ranch and !mostly on the road chasing down a missing invested May and Billie got mighty close. Billie certainly has a whacky attitude which quiet Jay really loved as she brings out another side of him, and over time he does the same to her. This read is mostly about these two characters, as they have left all the others back at the ranch. An easy and pleasant read with funny and enjoyable banter.

Both have hurts from the past even though neither want to talk about them. Both wear their masks and don't let anyone in. When stuck together, can they both heal or just push each other away like they both have always done. Traumatic pasts, love to give, hurts left unhealed, vulnerability and love like they have never felt before.
