Kyle James cashed in my V card and then disappeared like I was the finishing act in a magic show. I vowed to hate my best friend, turn the longing and secret obsession with him into toxic hate and maybe a poorly chosen tattoo. But as the years passed, I let go of any notions I'd ever see him again...until he sauntered on campus my senior year as a new transfer student. All of Rake Forge was obsessed with his inked skin and that darkness that seemed to seep out of every methodical step he took. I wasn't. I knew the boy underneath, and while I wanted to know where he'd been...I would never ask. Until my dad needed a favor. His team required a way in with my ex-best friend, and his contacts. I knew Kyle would see through it...but I went anyway. Suddenly, my world, made of black and white was bleeding color...and he was at the center, daring me to trust him. My heart, blind and foolish chose to not only trust but to love him too. I really should have known better. I was merely a way in for my father, and for the man, I loved...I was just a way out.
Ashley resides in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and four children. She enjoys hiking, sneaking off to read, and of course, drinking copious amounts of coffee when she finally sits down to write.
This book gutted me. I have always had a special place in my heart for these two from the start. We get bits and pieces of their relationship in the first two books, but in Joker we get on the rollercoaster and aren't let off this intense read until the very last page.
Rylie and Kyle are best friends. Have been from a very early age, despite being so different and their home life is night and day from the other. It shouldn't work, but all the pieces fit together like a beautiful mosaic, like an intricate tattoo forever on your soul. They vow to give each other all their firsts. When that happens, when they finally become one - one leaves without a word and the other believes that the feelings of wanting more were only one sided.
My heart broke for Rylie. She picked herself up, dusted off and attempted to move on with her life. Went to college, made new friends, has a job she likes and even ventured into the dating world ... yet she could never forget her best friend, her only love that held her heart and soul hostage. Even the distance and longing couldn't cure her of him. Her job isn't for the faint of heart. She encounters many people from the wrong side of the tracks. Criminals who should have her cringing, but her boss always keeps her safe. He is one person who she truly can depend on and knows he won't leave her or put her in harms way.
Her life gets turned upside down yet again when the one she longed to see returns and she doesn't know what to think or do. Her emotions are going crazy. She feels everything all over again. All the yearning, the empty questions, the lies, the heartbreak. She won't allow her worth to be demolished again. He isn't her best friend anymore. He is different. Calculating, cold and wants to hurt her. If they play the came will she win or will she have to fold to keep her heart from breaking again?
This story was powerful and had me on the edge of my seat. I was captivated from start to finish. Fully invested in this couple and loved getting a glimpse into all the other characters from previous books.
Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Note 2: This is an interconnected series - I wish the reviews and the book's summary had made that point actually clear. So please read in order. Wildcard is the first book. King of Hearts is the second book. The Joker is the third and final book in the series.
Trigger warnings: death, murder, violence, assault, betrayal, sexual assault.
Firstly let me tell you I hated one of this author's previous books. So naturally I was nervous about going into this one. How low can you keep your standards after all?
But luckily I had nothing to be nervous about it. It was a dark mafia romance dream that I thoroughly enjoyed - but with a hitch of not knowing exactly what happened - probably should have read the other books in the series for that.
Kyle and Rylie come from different worlds - one's a trained up mafia scout boy, the other is a holy saint of a sharp mind. But they succumb to one night of you know..also because they are teenagers apparently so can't control themselves?...which leads to a life-long simmering ache for one another.
On the plus side they were both inexperienced on the s****l front- on the downside they behaved as they weren't. - seriously I doubt every teenager is able to pull that off so damn wonderfully at first touch and go, but whatever. Not boiling at this or whatever.
But then Kyle disappears and Rylie is crushed. 4/5 years later, they meet again, both on the opposite sides of the law - you know you're intrigued when that happens. Stuff occured, and Kyle just had to come closer to his first love to protect her and other uses (you'll know if you've read it), but obviously a lot of hurt simmered too - because he waited for her and she didn't - thank god for the first time I actually got to see a guy wait and pine - otherwise it's always the frickin opposite in novels - but again me not completely being all jazzed up by this.
But they solve their inner conflicts, feelings grow, betrayals happen (still couldn't believe he would do that to his own child) and they go into action mode when anyone tries to cross em. It's like an entire the godfather-like scenario I am telling you.
In the end though, things solve themselves.
And the joker gets his harlequin - because I couldn't stop the reference coming from my mouth, sorry.
I loved it as well - though nervous as hell. But with Munoz's much improved writing, more action moments (it was a mafia so of course), steamy moments, and well-developed characters - though I sometimes questioned them, I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with all of them - it's too bad this series has ended.
But I do look forward to what Munoz has planned in the future for her books.
I signed up to read this book because the blurb caught my attention. I haven’t read any of the previous books and this author is new to me but something about the book called to me. I am beyond thrilled I took a chance because this story hooked me from the start! I read this angsty, rip your heart out story in one sitting!
Kyle and Rylie were breathtaking! Their story had me on edge and my heart was in my throat for most of the book! Ashley definitely had my emotions all over the place but in the end it was worth it!
Kyle and Rylie were best friends! They were each other’s person! From two different worlds but together they were each other’s everything! In a flash everything changed and neither would be the same! Gosh what both went through to find their way back was just, WOW!
I will not divulge too much because this book shouldn’t be spoiled, It needs to be experienced! I will end my review by saying...GET THIS BOOK! Sit, read it and be prepared for a journey that will capture you from the very first word to the last!
I loved Wild Card, and King of Hearts…but The Joker blew them out of the water! Kyle and Rylie are perfection. The beginning broke my heart, but their story back to each other put it right back together. I’m obsessed with the world that Ashley has built with these characters and families! Kyle and Rylies story was messy, and painful but SO beautiful. This book will give you allllll the feels.
The Rake Forge University series has been wild to read and getting to know these characters are their stories has been interesting. We finally have Kyle’s story and it honestly really surprised me in the best way. Kyle and Rylie have an insane chemistry that I couldn’t get over. The connection they have is so strong that in every tough moment they went through they felt that pain and emotion.
It was nice to read about the characters from the previous books and how they are now. Reading those moments made me smile so much. With Kyle and Rylie I really liked the way they’ve been best friends and how protective they are of each other. The way they feel towards each other is something that was intriguing to read about due to Kyle’s life and what he was personally going through. You really get an idea as to how important Kyle and Rylie are to each other and to the extent one will go to make sure the other is safe.
The Joker is a really enjoyable read and I loved getting to know more about Kyle and Rylie. I love them both so much as individuals and even more as a couple!
The Joker is the third and final book of the Rake Forge University Series by Ashley Munoz. I am so glad I got the ARC because this book blew me away. I am new to Ashley, but I will be reading more books from her.
The Joker takes you on one hell of an emotional roller coaster, and I devoured this beautifully written book in one sitting. Kyle and Rylie have been best friends since they were young; they were inseparable. Rylie has been in love with Kyle but doesn't know how to tell him. The summer before she goes to college, they make a pact to lose their virginity. They spend the most incredible night together, and Rylie finally confesses that she has loved Kyle her whole life. Only Kyle doesn't say a word when she is fast asleep; he kisses her and tells her goodbye. He vanishes without a trace, leaving Rylie with many unanswered questions, and she is utterly broken and alone. Three years have passed, and Kyle is back, but he looks a lot different, and Rylie is still heartbroken and hurt by the way Kyle left without a word. Rylie gets wrapped up in his dangerous world. Will Kyle be able to keep her safe, and will Rylie ever be able to forgive Kyle for abandoning her?
The spice in this book is top-notch; you can tell the characters truly love each other! This is one of those books that will stay with you forever. The Joker will have you feeling every kind of emotion. Trust me when I say read this book and thank me later.
The Joker follows Rylie and Kyle, childhood friends, who have been in love with each other forever, but are too scared to admit it to each other. They made a deal that before college they would be each other's firsts. After their deal, Kyle disappears for years before returning as an entirely different man, this time, he won't let Rylie go.
I absolutely loved Kyle and Rylie's story. I feel like I've been waiting for it forever and I absolutely loved it. Wild Card was my first read by Ashley Munoz, and this series has made me fall in love with her writing...each book getting better and better. I felt the emotions through the pages in The Joker. There were times I wanted to cry with Rylie, especially when she learns information about her father. I generally don't get super emotional, but I could just FEEL the heartbreak she was going through. I loved seeing little insights into the previous characters lives as well. I'm so sad the series is over, it has been one of my favourites!
Overall, I highly suggest this series! It's lower on the spice scale than I typically read, but there IS some damn good spice in those pages. Especially Kyle 🥵. For someone with no experience, he knows what he wants/likes hahah!
A wonderful way to close out this series. The Joker combines suspense, heat, and family.
This book is super steamy! Kyle and Rylie have been best friends since kindergarten, each others ride or die. Their chemistry is off the charts and it shows whether they are between the sheets or seething through their toxic hate.
How do two people who are best friends get to a point of toxicity? After a beautiful night where Rylie and Kyle share their V cards with each other, Kyle disappears. He ghosts her for three years and Rylie breaks. Each year turning darker until she's a different version of who he left behind.
Kyle didn't just leave to go vacationing and have fun. He also is a different man than who he once was. He's covered in secrets along with tattoos and new muscles. His outside may look totally different, but his inside still craves the one girl who has always been his everything.
Can these two reconnect after years apart and broken trust?
The Joker is a great interconnected book bringing all of the characters from the past two books together. However, you can also read this book as a complete standalone as well.
Hold onto your seats because this is one mind explosive read. My heart broke for Riley. I just couldn’t believe what was happening. Literally glued to my kindle because I needed to know how Kyle was going to rectify himself. My heart dropped a time or two and my mind felt like a hamster spinning in a wheel having absolutely no idea how this would all end. All I can say is it is AMAZING!! The chemistry is HAF and the angst will bring you to your knees. One of the best reads so far this year and an absolutely AMAZING SERIES!!!
Kyle and Rylie are best friends and have been since childhood. Unbeknownst to them, they both have a crush on each other but won't tell the other. They made a promise to each other and keep it but then Kyle disappears, and it devastates Rylie. This story is about love, forgiveness and finding your way back to each other. Loved this last book int the Rake Forge series.
This book is off the chart steam!!! Kyle and Rylie have been each other’s hearts forever. They always planned on giving each other their virginity, however Rylie couldn’t fathom that this was the night her life would fall apart. Kyle vanishes after spending the most glorious night with his one true love. Uncle Scott led Kyle down a dark path that he free called into but he never wanted Rylie apart of. When the mysterious, underground Joker starts popping up on all ‘The Families’ and FBI’s radar, no one would have guessed in a million years that Kyle & The Joker are one in the same. The twists are turns of this story are so unbelievable and considering for both Kyle & Rylie there is no one else in their hearts, some big decisions and big prices must be paid. Only time will tell how this story will fall but you will be full of all the love and suspense along the ride!
When you fall in love with your best friend at a young age, you believe that love will last forever. You dream of the future. The house filled with love and laughter after the wedding, the babies growing up there. But what happens when, after the night you give each other your virginity, he disappears, no rhyme or reason, he's gone. After the most perfect night on her eighteenth birthday, she wakes up to find that Kyle has left her. His brother says he's gone hiking in Europe but the boy she loves hates hiking and loves racing cars. So Rylie forces herself to go to college, she tries to mend her broken heart and put Kyle behind her but he won't stay there. For three years she barely survives and just when she thinks she might be able to move on and find love again, a shadowy figure appears. His mannerisms are like Kyle's but he looks nothing like him and this man goes by the name Joker. There's a new faction in town trying to take it over and somehow Rylie is getting dragged into the centre of the storm.
This was an outstanding ending for the Rake Forge University series. Ashley Munoz definitely took my heart and put it my throat with the depth of emotions I felt reading Kyle and Rylie's story.
This book needs more than 5 stars!!! I knew I would love this one!
I knew I would love Kyle's story, it is EVERYTHING!
Kyle is one of those characters you love and you want to hold on to him forever. Rylie is his other half through and through. Their love and connection is undeniable!
This story is one that you won't be able to put down.. You will have to know how it ends..
I highly recommend reading the first 2 books first so you get the best picture for these characters.
This series is a must read and one that I will reread!
This series started off as a college/sports romance and has turned into a mafia romance along the way. Each book is darker, grittier and sexier than the last and, honestly, they're all fantastic!
"I knew this girl - her scar tissue had my name on it. She was mine; she always would be. No matter where she went or what she did, she belonged to me."
Rylie Jackson and Kyle James have been friends since they were seven. When they were teenagers, they agreed to be each other's firsts. One summer night when they are both eighteen, Kyle thoroughly owns her body, heart and soul, but then disappears out of her life for three long years. When he reappears, he's no longer the best friend she knew.
"You think you can be here and be apart from me? We share the same shadow, the same soul - you're in me, and I'm in you."
God, this story was something else! The previous story about Taylor and Juan introduced us into the mafia world of Rake Forge, and to Kyle and Riley. Their story was heartbreaking, passionate and edgy. Kyle had been on a certain trajectory since he was a kid and under the aegis of his shady uncle. He was inexorably drawn into the underworld and once he'd committed himself irrevocably, he had no choice but to run to protect the people he loved - in particular, Rylie. She was completely baffled by his disappearance and felt completely abandoned. My heart hurt for her emotional wounds. When he came back into her life, there was so much unsaid between them for a long time, which lead to plenty of friction, but the sizzle between them was palpable. They were two sides of the same coin. Even with the time apart, they knew each other inside out. Kyle was thrillingly possessive and sexually raw with her. I felt that he showed her his true feelings without ever having to say them. I loved that he was this mysterious, dangerous, tough guy, but he was also the sweet, funny friend of her childhood hidden beneath, who dreamt of a simpler life. I felt for Rylie's struggles as she had very few people to turn to, and her isolation. She had courage, strength and sass in spades, which masked a deep vulnerability. This was a brilliant read!
• College x Mafia Romance • Second chance • First time x First love • Forced proximity • He pines HARD for her • Groveling • Secret keeping • Brought together after years apart • Slow burn
This was a necessary relisten inspired by my bestie Renee! I'm so unbelievably hyped for the upcoming duet, and going back and relistening to the first generation was an absolute must. It’s been over 3 years since I first stepped into Ashley's amazing world, and watching it all tie together has been so much fun!!
As if I wasn’t already obsessed with these books, getting to go back and relisten to where everything began for Kyle and Rylie after reading My Darling Mayhem was incredible! Ashley threw in so many easter eggs that I completely overlooked the first time.
Kyle and Rylie's story was full of so much angst! I'm an absolute sucker for best friends to lovers. But throw in best friends to enemies to lovers and I’m absolutely gone! So obsessed! Ashley did such an incredible job with their storyline. From the start the angst between these two was heavy, and it instantly had you rooting for them. And then they were ripped apart for years! 😭 My heart broke for sweet Rylie as she learned to find herself after feeling abandoned. Watching her character go from a tender teenager who pined for her best friend to a tough, closed-off woman was written so perfectly.
Ashley absolutely put us through a wild ride with these two! But seeing them come together was so well planned. And having the roles reverse, and hearing how obsessed this man was for her, to the point where he waited for her. 😭 I love a celibate king who only ever had eyes for the FMC! Not only did he wait for her, but those tattoos!!
The road to their HEA was definitely not an easy one, but I couldn’t have been more happy with the way Ashley brought it all together. And knowing what’s to come next in this incredible world… I’m so ready for it!!
The Joker is the last book in the Rage Forge University series and was the perfect ending to the series. This series has been an absolute joy to read and I could not think of a better ending. Riley and Kyle are two characters that I have been fascinated with from the start of this series and loved being able to read their story. A lot of questions I had about them were answered throughout this story.
Rylie was such a caring character that put others first. I loved how she cared for Kyle despite how he hurt her and was willing to do anything to look after him when he needed her. There were moments where I really felt for her because of the way she was treated by others.
Kyle went through a lot of character growth throughout the story and really changed as the story went on. But one thing remained the same, his love for Rylie. I really loved how he protected her and how it was obvious how much he loved her.
These two characters really went through a lot together and created a really good storyline. I loved the emotions that this story had and it really made it hard to put the story down. This was an enjoyable and one i recommand.
No spoilers from me, but if you have been engrossed in this series from the start then you seriously need to read the joker….it’s full to the brim with heart wrenching moments, suspense, betrayal, drama, secrets by the bucket load, real connections and all the characters we have come to love.
Rylie literally goes through the ringer in this and yet, despite her pessimism or maybe because of it she manages to handle everything that is thrown at her.
Kyle is absolutely perfectly written by Ms Munoz… fiercely determined and intense, he is focused on his task but can’t help showing his soft centre and then there’s the heat!!! Holy Moly..!
There is a desperate intensity in these characters, which Ms Munoz captures perfectly, as they all battle for their place, whilst at the same time keeping their cards close to their chest….all hoping they won’t be out played by the joker!
Did I just finish my new favorite AM book? Uh, yeah, I think I did.
The Joker is without a doubt the author’s steamiest work to date, for starters. The one kicked off early hit pause and then took right back off like a train with no brakes. Kyle came in swinging with the dirty talk and general BDE and he didn’t let up on me once.
I got slapped early on with a rush of emotional upheaval, but my ruffled feathers were soothed soon enough. On top of that, the character development was absolute perfection.
This was the most perfect ending for this series.I loved seeing the characters from the previous books living their best lives. And seeing what the future was setting itself up to be for everyone involved.
Kyle and Rylie are from two very different worlds, but are best friends. They are each others everything, until Kyle breaks Rylies heart. She is miserable without him, and He is is his family's mob business but still thinks of her. They are reunited, but it's not the reunion they were thinking. They are surronded by people they dont know if they can trust and there are twists I didn't see coming at all.
I couldn't love this book more!! Ashley broke me at the start then put me back together by the end. Kyle and Rylie are my fav couple!! Their story was so, so heartbreaking and the way Ashley brought them back togethrr is just beautiful. I cant wait to see what Ashley has coming next!!!!
The Joker is the third and final book in the Rake Forge University series! Best friends to enemies to lovers, mafia romance trope that I loved every minute of.
Kyle and Rylie have been best friends since a young age and Rylie has been in love with him for years. One year she decides to lose her virginity to him, only for him to disappear on her. My heart felt Rylie’s pain and she struggled to move one and adjust to life without her partner. Three years later, Kyle comes back into her life a completely different man. Suddenly, her world was bleeding color.
This story had me captivated until the very end. I loved the unexpected twists and turns. This story was full of drama and steam. Their chemistry and connection was intense and all consuming. I loved the way Ashley ended the story. Beautifully written.
I needed Kyle’s story. I had so many conflicted feelings for him throughout this series and I desperately wanted to understand why he was so lost and broken. I won’t lie, Kyle and Rylie’s story wasn’t always pretty, it fact at times they were quite the train wreck. Their relationship was a journey from friendship to enemies to somewhere in between but beyond at the same time. My heart cracked, then it shattered and finally it was glued back together again. Such an intense finale to this amazing series but it was absolutely perfectly delivered.
I honestly wasn't sure how invested I was going to be in Rylie and Kyle's story. We had only seen small glimpses of them in the previous two stories, so I didn't "know" them. Yet here I am having recently finished the story, and I absolutely loved their story!
From their pact for the summer before college, to the heartache, to the reunion, to all the drama, it was just fantastic.
The storyline with Rylie's dad? OH MY WORD. Dang. I mean I kind of saw that coming, but at the same time I didn't see it at that level. So that was something.
If you've read the previous two books in the Rake Forge series, then you need to read Kyle and Rylie's story to see how everything plays out.
Wow! This had me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. This is the last book in the series and the author left the best for last because Rylie and Kyle are perfection. The hurt, pain, lies, secrets, and longing had me on the edge of my seat until the very end.
I got wild card for free a while back when it was having a promo I guess and fell in love so I went and followed Ashley everywhere! I signed up for her ARC team as soon as I saw and I am SO glad I did! This book was amazing! Well written and everything I need! I can't wait to read more from her and will devour it all! Love love love. I just want to jump in these books with these amazing characters. Definitely a read that will stick! Such a hangover
“The Joker” had some high expectations to live up to and did it ever! The angst, tension, suspense, and the steam were off the charts amazing.
Kyle and Rylie have been best friends for most of their lives. But one night and an unsaid confession leaves to heartbreak. Fast forward three years later, fate has brought these two back together in the dangerous world that Kyle has been apart of.
I knew Kyle would be special from the glimpses we got of him in the previous books. He's a huge main character who’s whole personality screams off the pages of her overprotective alpha who will literally do anything to keep Rylie safe. Rylie is so strong, smart and fearless. The things she went through were hard but made her stronger in the end. The bond Kyle and Rylie share is truly special.
I loved the plot and the world that was built in this series. Three is not nearly enough but it was wrapped up so beautifully. I can’t wait to read what Ashley Munoz publishes next.
THE JOKER, is the third book in Author Ashley Munoz’ Rake Forge University series and to be honest, I absolutely and highly recommend that you read WILD CARD and KING OF HEARTS first. What an amazing series Ms Munoz has put together! I think that each is better than the last, and each time I really mean it – but seriously, this one is the best!!!
Munoz’ writing is indescribably talented. Her ability to put together such gritty emotional books means that I am unashamedly in love with her books. I don’t think I can adequately describe how the depth of her writing completely fills my mind while reading, bringing the video in my head easily to life. Some books can seem a little thin on plot, hers most definitely are not. Her character description are on point, so straight away we have a vision of Kyle, his thoughts, his only vulnerability, and his absolute loyalty towards family, as well as Rylie’s complete and absolute heartbreak, leaving her a shadow of her former self. Wondering how her BFF could cut and run in the manner that he did. Earth-shatteringly heart-breaking, leaving her barely wanting to move forward in life.
Kyle James had been put upon and put down for his entire life. My heart broke to see how he’d been made to feel like the unwanted sibling, the loser and the let-down compared to his older brother Decker from WILD CARD. He’d been long under the wing of his Uncle Scotty, who’d been more like a father than his own, and had gone with his Uncle down the path into the crime world. When you read the first two books, you’ll see his character development, and like me, your heart will wonder about this seemingly self-serving aloof young man, and you’ll want to be reading his story quick smart. Now that all books are released, this series is totally binge-worthy 🃏
THE JOKER begins where the final showdown occurred in KING OF HEARTS. The first chapter is the lead into events that make up this book, from Kyle’s POV. A point of difference this time though, was that we also got to hear from Scotty himself on occasion, and his view was vital and enlightening. While I didn’t like Scotty at all because he had his own agenda, but I do believe he thought he was doing the best for Kyle. He isn’t a romantic character, and as such only thought of himself and his nephew, everyone else was expendable. This was another tension that Ms Munoz capitalised on, making THE JOKER a multi-stranded plot that is vital in the success of the more in depth mafia genre that us readers love.
Nothing is more romantic than a man who has forsaken all others even when he can’t have the woman he loves above all else. Not even when that man is one of the deadliest and most dangerous criminals in the area. Or even when his lost love’s father is looking to put the likes of him behind bars for life. Over the last three years, Kyle formed a new identity and looks, and, his aura is so dangerous that Rylie doesn’t recognise him. The entire chapter from his POV is wrought with the emotion of a much younger Kyle who still loves the best part of him, and his uncle knows that. “You’re not just Kyle James anymore…you aren’t her best friend. You’ve become an entire fucking empire. You can’t throw away what you’ve built, what you’ve sacrificed for someone you knew a long time ago.” My heart was by now, completely breaking and I couldn’t help by cry for him. I couldn’t even think how Ms Munoz was going to finish this book with both him and his Uncle Scotty still being alive! Especially now it seemed that Kyle was dead set on his path to re-claim the other half of his soul after Rylie’s safety was compromised.
I loved Rylie. Even in her heartbreak when she’d ceased to fully engage in life, she still had goals. She missed the other half of her soul, and her unsent letters to Kyle over the following two years or so while at university working towards her degree in Criminology, broke my heart, and by the time she’d decided to write her final letter, again I had tears.
I felt every stab of betrayal in her heart, even after they’d had to come together again as they moved deeper into the plot and she realised just how coldly she’d been excised out of Kyle’s life as if she’d never existed in his past. I thought that she was such a strong character, and the hurt chemistry between them smashed my already broken heart and mirrored what seemed to be an almost irredeemable relationship between them. When they finally came together though!!! 🔥🔥🔥 Hell’s teeth, my eyes almost suffered from arc-flash, it was that hot. Ms Munoz has certainly developed an ability to create some pretty hot and intense scenes for sure!!! It could never have been the hot sweeter romantic event of their first time. Both characters had changed, especially Kyle, and that darker side had to have developed, and it was certainly all very well written!!!!
The mafia world created by Munoz is full and multi-layered. Several families are vying for territory and power, and we see that usurper THE JOKER has turned their area on its head, causing fractions and allegiances to have been created, it provided so much depth to this mafia read, as I’ve already stated above. For me, Ms Munoz has firmly claimed her foothold within the Mafia genre and should be proud of her series. For anyone who loves these books, and doesn’t want a darker type of read, then I hand-on-heart pinkie-swear that this book, hell this series are all worth more than 5-Stars 🃏
Annnnnnd, the most exciting news of all!?! That there is a sequel series Ms Munoz has given us a sneak peek of!!! Seriously, I know these are going to be amazing reading 💞♠️♚
I really don’t remember most of the book, I feel like the heroine forgave the hero way too easily and that annoyed me. Once I realised it was the third book in the series I felt like I was missing a lot.
I did love that they were each other’s first’s and for once the heroine didn’t stay celibate when the hero disappeared; and I did love that the hero did stay celibate.
Kyle was a cutie, I was really confused over Scotty? Was he good or bad? The book was honestly all over the show, I was so confused but didn’t love it enough to want to read the first two books in the series. Was well written though and the smut was definitely good 🥵
