Getting lost in the woods isn’t on Bristol Wingham’s agenda. Neither is being abandoned by her friends or getting injured. Luckily for her, she’s found by one of Fallport’s search and rescue members. She hadn’t planned on staying in the small town, but when her rescuer offers her a place to recuperate…she can’t resist.
Cohen “Rocky” Watson has rescued his fair share of lost hikers, but there’s something about Bristol that makes him sit up and take notice. The world-renowned artist could definitely afford to go back home to Tennessee and pay someone to look after her until her broken leg heals, but the more time he spends around her, the more he wants her to stay.
Slowly but surely, as Bristol heals, the former Navy SEAL and the artist find themselves falling in love. But someone is less than happy with the budding relationship. When Bristol disappears, it’ll take Rocky, his entire team, and every colorful, gossip-loving Fallport local to find her—and the clock is ticking.
** Searching for Bristol is the third book in the Eagle Point Search & Rescue Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.
New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author, Susan Stoker has a heart as big as the state of Tennessee where she lives, but this all American girl has also spent the last fourteen years living in Missouri, California, Colorado, Indiana, and Tennessee. She's married to a retired Army man who now gets to follow her around the country.
Jungle rescue, small town, grumpy old men, girl tribe, kidnapping (of course), and one very determined, protective Hero who will stop at nothing to find his Bristol.
Whew!! This one starts with quite the adventure, and keeps right on going!
I love the connection between these two, and the way Bristol is embraced by the town. She embraces them right back, too. Everything between her & Rocky feels ... smooth. There's no pervaricating, so their communications are clear.
The suspense here is quite unique, and I loved the way that was written! Rocky's reaction to the reveal was so authentic. And Bristol's heart and personality shine, even during that suspense element.
I felt bad for Bristol at the start, to end up with those crazy people and then falling how she did. She was a much better person than me, I know for sure I would have not deal well being stuck and hurt for that long!
I really liked the connection she had with Rocky from the start and I liked that both of them acted on it by Bristol staying in town to heal. It gave them a great way to build a friendship base before moving on to something else.
It was fun to see Bristol fall in love with the town and all the people, for her to see how she could build a life here, if she allowed herself to.
The drama at the end was so crazy! I hated how close Bristol was to Rocky, yet no one had a clue. I liked that 2 unusual people were the ones helped find Bristol, along with the baker. It was great that everyone was able to storm where Bristol was being held and save her.
The ending to this one was great! I liked that Rocky made it so that she didn't have to go back to the apartment building, instead they were able to start to build their life together right from the start in a great place!
Bristol never expected to be on her own in the middle of the woods and severely injured. But she’s a fighter, and she’ll get to safety one way or another. As part of the Search and Rescue Team, Rocky takes a hike to look for any signs of the woman. He never expected to feel a connection with her, or invite her into his home while she recovers.
Rocky 😍 Definitely my favorite twin. Once he’s in, that man is all in with everything he has. I love how protective and possessive he is of Bristol. He is honestly so sweet and caring. SWOON! I love his and Bristol’s connection. They really bond on the mountain and it only explodes from there.
Searching for Bristol is the next book in the Search and Rescue series and it’s fantastic❣️Rocky arrives to have something to eat at the local diner when Sandra, the owner, asks him to look for Bristol especially after she hasn’t returned to say goodbye to the owner. Rocky not thinking much of it, heads out to search for Bristol…surprised when he finds she is indeed in the woods and not back home like he was hoping😳
A wonderful love story and I’m excited to find out what happens between Drew and Caryn next😍
This book kept my interest all the way through. Another excellent story from Susan Stoker. Found the strength of the characters very inspiring the way they persevered no matter what happened. Looking forward to reading, “Searching for Caryn”.
Rocky and Bristol are a wonderful couple. As a former SEAL turned Search & Rescue expert, you'd think Rocky is tough--but that pales in comparison to just how tough petite, sweet Bristol is. Although she was a little dumb to get herself into the opening situation where she got into such dire trouble, I feel she made up for it with her will to survive and her determination to never give up. Fortunately, Rocky's mix of strength and gentleness instilled the trust she needed to hang on until he and the team could rescue her. And she certainly gave him the feeling of connection and hope that was missing from his life.
As always, my favorite part of Ms. Stoker's SAR series are the people of Fallport, VA. She's populated these books with wonderfully diverse and intriguing supporting characters. Can't wait for the rest of the team to get their stories. (Also wouldn't mind if Davis Woolford or Chief of Police Simon Hill ended up with their own HEA. ;) )
The world Susan creates is Indeed wonderful small town charm. From book 1 and Bigfoot through to Elsie's harrowing past and now Bristol's addictive talent and beautiful inner glow. In true form the alpha men fall hard for the ladies that tumble into their lives, and Rocky is no different. It's almost like the SARs could be brothers to any of the 'seal protection legacy' boys, with their bushy beards. Susan has a unique way of taking the simplicities of day to day life and creates humour, romance, emotion, family and unequivocal love, out of all things daily. I particularly enjoy Susan's unique tropes, the way her stories aren't sex driven, but builds with innuendo so when the steam arrives its with a capital 'S' and with this book, it only adds to that delicious feeling of settling back and ambling along with this wonderful author and Fallport. It makes me want to go find a small town and look for a SAR guy.😊 That is until she sneaks in a big dose of angst. This is where Susan gets spooky. Some of the eerie happenings she writes about is just heart stopping. The way she describes the scary stuff through the plotline keeps you wanting to know what's going to happen next. Which I thought I knew and then up pops another sub-plot. I held my breath then floated down with a feel good pause, until the anti is upped again...and so the roller coaster ride goes. Sometimes in a series the stories can get a bit tedious or not as interesting but not in this series, each book is different and this one doesn't disappoint...I just wanted to yell at Rocky to hurry up!!!. I was smiling big time when things started to click into place and I did a little fist pump. Then I couldn't sleep till I finished 🙃. The 3 continuous characters in the series are absolutely fabulous and so integral to the storyline of each book. As important as the HEA. Narrator's were superb. I hadn't heard Victoria before but she did an amazing job. Thanks Susan for an awesome romantic suspense book. I'm looking forward to Caryn and Drew
Another wonderful story in this series! These two have a different style meet-cute then have a few bumps before they get their HEA. Bristol (love that name btw) has a strong character base that she pulls upon more than once in here. She has that “thing” that makes people want to know her. The budding romance between Rocky and Bristol is sooo sweet! I loved watching them grow together.
I enjoyed watching the whole Eagle Point SAR work together and play together. They have good camaraderie plus the women add to their appeal. The townsfolk really make me want yo move to this town. I like how the author integrated them into the story instead of just popping in.
I did listen to this on audio. Victoria Mei and Teddy Hamilton are always a joy to listen to and this one is no exception. They both help bring this already amazing story to the next level.
I am really looking forward to Brock and hopefully Finlay’s story in the future but next is the possibly explosive relationship for Drew and his lucky lady.
Bristol and Rocky were fantastic together! I loved the patience and care they both took in letting their relationship grow naturally. It wasn’t that they took their time, it all happened over a short period, but that they didn’t rush into anything. Part forced proximity, part wanting to be there, they made the connection between them stronger with each day that passed. Bristol was so strong in the circumstances she found herself in, and Rocky allowed his vulnerabilities to show when he needed to, and they both fit together so perfectly, loved them, loved their story!
Bristol is so strong, she may be tiny but she packs a punch....the moment Rocky sees her she takes his breath. Rocky is a hero, he may deny it, but he is, he is also a man in love. And seeing him care for, search for and protect Bristol will have you handing your heart over willingly. I love this series, all the guys in the search and Rescue, the nosey but loving residents and the 'family' they all create.
A sweet and easy read, meaning, no angsty drama between the two main characters. I even wished there was some bit of relationship drama, but it all went pretty smoothly. Bristol and Rocky's connection was pretty quick and the timeframe was short, but it wasn't insta-love, which I enjoyed. It's a small town type of setting so you also get recurring townspeople making appearances and getting involved. Overall a quick and enjoyable read.
We all know that Susan Stoker is a master at writing. “Searching for Bristol” continues her legacy. I loved the hero and heroine, the plot line, and how the story unfolded. And of course the sex scene was HOT. I highly recommend this book.
Read this in one day…could not put it down. Loved these characters. The story had the HEA we all want but great suspense and all the feels. Love getting to know all the side characters too.
This was a fine enough story - but I so miss the team dynamic of a SEAL or DELTA team that made me fall for Susan Stoker's storytelling in the first place!
I enjoyed this book in the series. I think Bristol and Rocky had a sweet relationship. Add in an unstable stalker and there's a little conflict. I'm looking forward to reading more books in the series.
I'm torn on this series. The first book was silly but still very entertaining, and the next two books have been not great, and yet I'm still wondering what will happening in the next ones.
Here are the main issues: 1. So. Much. Exposition. The novels are mis-marketed as being stand-alones, so each installment takes sooooo much time explaining things from the past. 2. Our heroes have no flaws. These guys are pretty much without fault - exposition tells us that they've had hard times and challenges, but we don't really see that in the present story. 3. Unrealistic, repetitive dialogue. No one talks like this!! 4. The structure. The same in the first 3 novels: Act 1: insta-love, Act 2: lots of light dialogue and introducing a villain, Act 3: love confessions, danger for our gal, Act 4: rescue, happy ending and the intro to the next novel, thereby confirming that these are NOT standalones.
Bristol came to Fallport with her friends to get some air and a change of scenery before she felt burned out from doing her art. But the trip ended up being more complicated than just hiking up to see the beautiful landscape. Her friends abandoned her, and to make things even more complicated, she was injured and alone.
Rocky was asked to go look for the tourist but is sure he won’t find anyone. Maybe Bristol left and forgot about the promise she made to the restaurant owner, who seemed worried about her. But as soon as he got into the woods, he knew something bad must have happened.
With the offer to stay in his apartment until she’s healed, the two can no longer fight the chemistry between them. But someone out there wasn’t happy that Bristol had stopped making more of her art and was about to strike.
Searching for Bristol is the third book in the Eagle Point Search & Rescue series. The sizzling romance is mixed with suspense, grumpy/sunshine, roommates, a strong female and a protective alpha. It’s another book that Susan Stoker wrote that didn’t disappoint. I love all of her books, and this one was no exception. There’s kidnapping, violence and a few other triggering subjects.
From the first chapter, you could tell how strong-willed Bristol is. She was lost, alone, injured, and she had a concussion. But she crawled and kept crawling, never losing hope. She made friends with the people of the town and was welcomed with open arms. When she went missing, all the town gathered to search for her. The chemistry between her and Rocky was obvious from the moment their eyes met in the woods.
Rocky admired her strength and determination to make it all the way back to the trail and she would've saved herself if he hadn't found her. I liked how he wasn’t afraid to speak his mind. His relationship with his brother is touching, and I loved how they were affectionate with each other, never shying away from a hug.
I cried while reading the last 30% of the book. It was so emotional and intense that I couldn’t stop reading, even through tears. Everything about the ending was touching and heart-wrenching.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
When it comes to romance, suspense and hot alpha males, Susan Stoker is ACES in my book!
The more I read Susan Stoker's Eagle Point Search & Rescue series, the more I fall in love with Fallport, Va., it's quirky townsfolk and the men of the Eagle Point Search and Rescue team! Susan Stoker has an incredible storytelling talent that makes it impossible for me to pass up a chance to buy up her books! Searching for Bristol is book three in the series and Susan has really outdone herself with this one. The story begins with a challenging rescue and becomes more thrilling as you turn the page! It was impossible to put this book down. Just when I thought I had come to a part that would be a good stopping point, the plot would twist and I would be unable to quit reading. I knew I wouldn't be able to concentrate on any other task unless I discovered how Susan resolved the latest conflict.
Susan's characters are so well-developed and relatable you begin to believe that finding your soulmate and true forever love is possible. Her two main characters in Searching for Bristol, Rocky and Bristol, do not seem to have much in common at first, but as the story develops Susan shows how the two compliment, providing the perfect strength to each other's weakness. At times it was so emotional it brought tears to my eyes. Searching for Bristol was almost overwhelming ,it was such a sensual experience. Susan's word choices made the scenes so vivid it was like you were there with the characters in Fallport!
Susan's middle name should be Suspense! Searching for Bristol had so much action I was reluctant to put it down. Just when I thought I reached a stopping point, Susan would throw in a plot twist. I couldn't concentrate on any other task as my mind kept going back to the book. I wondered how the protagonists could possibly escape this time. The suspense had me abandoning everything, determined to finish the novel before I did anything else. I was like a woman possessed! Susan Stoker's imagination and creativity knows no bounds! Searching for Bristol proves it.
Pick up your copy of Searching for Bristol and see for yourself why Susan Stoker is on my Must Read bookshelf!
SEARCHING FOR BRISTOL by Susan Stoker is Book 3 in Eagle Point Search & Rescue Series. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone. After reading: SEARCHING FOR ELSIE, the author gives you in the epilogue, an exciting scene about the next book SEARCHING FOR BRISTOL. So, that made me want to read this book next.
Bristol Wingham had no intention of getting lost and hurt on her hike, but her so called friends were so annoying that she wanted no part of them. She had known better than to go hiking by herself, but never thought her friends would completely abandon her. But she hadn't expected the ground beneath her to suddenly give way either. She didn't really remember much of what happened after that. Bristol had hit her head in the fall and had been knocked unconscious. She was nauseous, had a splitting headache, and was pretty sure she'd broken her leg. She was scared that no one was coming to look for her. If she wanted to live, she'd have to use just her hands to pull herself along.
Cohen “Rocky” Watson was a member of the local search & rescue team. He went into the neighborhood diner to have his breakfast, when the owner approached him and was worried her friend was lost in the woods. She had told Sandra that she'd stop and say goodbye after her hike. She “promised” she would. Sandra was sure that she would have kept her word. Rocky said he would go look for her but wasn't convinced she had not just left. So, he'd went looking all alone which was against the rules of his team. When he found a hurt Bristol trying to drag herself, he wasn't going to let her down. If he had to carefully carry her for 6 miles, then that is what he'd do. She clung to him and was more than grateful. She didn't want him to leave her side, and he didn't want to leave hers. This is the start of a beautiful romance. I need to warn you that not everyone is pleased with their budding relationship.
🪟⛰️Nowadays they just slap the tropes on books. Doesn't matter if it actually includes that or not... Who's the grump here? I see none.
🪟⛰️He did not just nickname her punky wtf
🪟⛰️Is it normal in America to not call your parents even if you had a near death situation? I'll never understand them.
🪟⛰️We get it Bristol is an optimist. How many time we need that describing? And so many unnecessary chit chats. You won't miss anything if you skim that type of unnecessary.
🪟⛰️"If you think I’m the kind of woman who would care about something like that, maybe we should stop whatever’s happening between us right now" I was waiting for this kind of reply for so looong but couldn't find in any book.
🪟⛰️Ughhhhh dribbling with sappiness 🤢
🪟⛰️Two weeks?!!! When she was not even taken that far? Are you kidding me? The kidnapper is dumb as hell. He's updating her freaking website. Locate the IP address ffs.
🪟⛰️Your girlfriend is missing for 2weeks and you're house shopping?
🪟⛰️Your small town postmans not gonna help you if it after hours? Why they're dragging the days of her being kidnapped?
🪟⛰️Instant cheeriness after 2weeks of being prisoner is very forceful. And how her leg is not permanently damaged or something after being smashed with a hammer and left for 2weeks without treatment?

Full Stop! Susan Stoker has never written a storyline or created a character I didn't love. My favorite genres are militey, law enforcement/ fire, security/stealth ops. Ms Stoker ticks every one of these boxes and then some. Eagle Point Search and Rescue grabbed me on page one of the first book. Now I just finished the third book Searching for Bristol and it definitely lives up to its predecessors.
Bristol Wingman is a survivor. She doesn't give up or given in even when the outlook is bleak. The day that Rocky Watson went in search of Bristol, despite his misgivings, was the day his life changed. Even with the odds against her, this diminutive dynamo was determined to save herself in spite of severe injuries. Knowing that he can't have her walk out of his life, he makes her an offer she can't refuse. They slowly but most assuredly build a relationship. What they don't know is that an evil lurks and when it strikes both Rocky and Bristol will be tested to their breaking points. The good people of Fallport who've adopted Bristol as one of their own and the Eagle SAR team pull out all the stops trying to find Bristol and return her safely to the man whose love is neverending.
