The love stories in my family have always been fodder for romance novels.

My maternal grandmother and grandfather simultaneously ran a business together and raised four daughters, long before it was an accepted thing to do.  Grandpa O’Dell ran the gas station and the barber shop; Grandma O’Dell managed the grocery and cooked for customers.  They were true partners and madly in love and parted, tragically, way too soon when he succumbed to cancer when he was in his early fifties.  Grandma grieved deeply but eventually picked herself up, started a new career as a cafeteria chef, and eventually found deep romantic love and happiness again, in the form of a second marriage.

3½ ⭐. Another cute read in this great series! I adore this large family (8 siblings) and their Small Town Romances. The background family and friends is a reason to read the series in order, but each book is a 100% stand-alone.

Emma Lockhart is back in town, feeling it's her last chance to succeed as a shoe designer. But the owner of the storefront she wants to rent is her old love, Tom Reid. They broke up when his father died and he had to return to Laramie to help with the ranch. And subsequently, he married, his wife passed away, leaving him with triplet sons, who are now 4. And they are having major meltdowns because Tom's mom, who takes care of them all, is supposed to be leaving on a long deserved vacation. What can Emma do, but volunteer to help. And so she gets sucked into their lives, and realizes, along with Tom, that their love never really went away. But she has a chance for a large company to do her designs, which will mean leaving Laramie.

Nice story in the series. But, with the series books not published close together, it's hard to remember the other books and family members.
