Translated from Swedish, the setting was the Swedish economic discussion in the late 'twenties, the years preceding the crash on the New York Stock Exchange in September 1929 was a time of confidence in restored stability and progress. This book was planned as a frontal attack on the dogmas of the older generation and it was originally meant to be a popular exposition.

The best book I have read that describes how ideologues mask hidden premises in economic arguments; and how these arguments serve those with economic and political power.
