Christmas joy has been a little easier to find this year for Heather King and her loved ones. But while their grief over the loss of her father has ebbed to some degree, his absence is still a huge hole in their lives that they do their best to fill by carrying on his legacy of love and caring for those who cross their paths.
Heather’s heart and mind finally feel in sync, and she’s ready to focus on the future, which she really hopes includes a love of her own. Unfortunately, while their wealth has been a blessing, it’s definitely a curse when trying to date. Previous experience has shown her that a man’s focus is more likely to be on her money than on who she is.
When Asher Larson stopped to help a motorist on the side of the highway, he had no idea what he was getting into. Already struggling to adjust to the unexpected arrival of his young niece, Ash isn’t sure that he has the time or energy to deal with a wealthy woman who seems determined to be a part of their lives.
Though Heather sees much in the reserved man to be admired, Ash doesn’t seem to be as enamored of her. His niece is adorable but also struggling to find her place in this new life she’s ended up with. All Heather wants is to make things easier for the pair, which means exposing them to the King wealth—clearly something that Ash struggles with.
Ash wants Isla to have a memorable Christmas, different from the kind he had as a kid. However, he’s kind of clueless on how to do that since his own experiences with the holiday have always been of a more bare bones variety. When Heather offers him the help he needs, Ash knows he’d be a fool to turn her down, even though he knows it’s a risk for his heart and the feelings for her that he doesn’t want to flourish.
Will Ash be able to see what they have in common? Or will the differences in their lives keep them from exploring what could blossom between them? Ash comes to understand that Christmas is a time for love as they celebrate the love God showed in sending His Son to the world.
Stay tuned for Hayden’s story... just in time for Christmas!
If you haven't yet read We Three Kings book 1 (Child of Joy), you'll want to read it before this one. You need to know what happened in that book, because it's a foundation for this one. Child of Love has a gentle, gradual love story development that I really enjoyed - it wasn't fast-paced, but just right for savoring. I'm really looking forward to book 3!
Ash was given his niece when his sister died. God brought him Heather because he did a good deed.
When Ash’s sister died of an overdose he was given custody of his niece. He fell in love from the minute she came to him. He was trying to do his best to raise her by himself but having lots of trouble. He knows nothing about little girls! One night he stops to help a stranded motorist and God brings him a miracle if he can only get his stuff together and realize it. What a delightful story and a great way to lead a family to Jesus. Just what I needed to read for the new year
For Heather, the fact Ash is a mechanic and doesn't have the same financial status she does, just isn't important.
Isla brings her own issues into Ash's life. I want to go to her classroom and give her teacher a talking to. I also want to cuddle her on my lap and teach her the joy of reading.
Really liked this book,God has brought this This book to show all of us just how good just help faithful he is for us In this case the lady knew which you want it, the person. What's brought in fixing a tire for the lady We need to be ready at all times when we're looking to see where god hats our lives and takes care of us thank you
I love a romance where anticipation to the first kiss builds so slowly, and inexorably, that you’re holding your breath at the end, hoping, just as much as the characters, that the confusion of blooming love leads to a perfect moment of clarity, sealed with a kiss that is just the beginning.
While we’ve been invited to many of the major events of the second book of the We Three Kings series, the new additions (Ash & Isla) make you crave a cozy seat by the fire with your own cup of hot cocoa. Kimberly Rae Jordan’s Child of Love hits just the right notes of melancholy, longing and holiday joy mixed with sweet anticipation for a Christmas story focused on a child, resisting kismet until the reader’s heart aches. A definite go-to-book if you’re coming off of that holiday high and need to turn back time!
I have enjoyed reading this book and story. Heather hated driving in the snow. When all of sudden her tire blew. As she sat on side of the road. She didn't know what she was going to do. When a guy on the passenger side knocked on the window. He told her he would change it. Giving his business card. He helped her to his truck. Inside was his niece Isa. She was talking alot. Ash was the man changing the tire. Will their life's interconnected? You must read this to find out.
This author's works are amazing & so enticing, while also based on reality. She helps manage her father's company, along with a brother. She was so helpful & all in when her brother met Carissa & her daughter in book 1. Now she's met an intriguing guy with a little girl along the side of the road. The guy helped rescue her & then she helped his little girl. A great story of showing compassion @ Christmas time.
Can a humble man and a millionaire he happy together
What wonderful story about love, humility, God and Christmas. Great follow up to book one & we didn't miss the wedding. Heather and Ash have a wonderful story to share with all the reader. Kimberly Brings tears happy & sad and much love to us in the fantastic book.
I love the way this author ties all the characters in this story together and makes it all very realistic!! It would be difficult for a man who comes from hard work and money struggles to feel like he has a chance with a wealthy woman. This story flowed seamlessly!
The King family is such a good example of how we all should be. They are humble and generous, showing the love of Jesus to everyone. I could relate mostly to Ash because he reminded me of my husband. Love can make a person do things they never imagined. Very well done!
Just two people who admire, respect, and grow to adore one another just as God had planned for them. A true Christmas story . thank you Kimberly for bringing the story to life
Love the story about meeting someone, fear of getting hurt. But faith, God and love can make a relationship flourish and conquer with commitment, hard work and communication.
I am really enjoying this series of Christmas love. This is a relaxing read without the hassle of working the plot out. You know the ending but the read to get there is enjoyable.
This is one of best books that I have read. Beautiful christian story! It was interesting and no violence or swearing. Please continue writing such wonderful uplifting books. God bless you.
Heather finds love with Asher and his niece Isla in Child of Love. We Three Kings is an absolutely delightful series! I can’t wait to read Hayden’s story.
