This was very good read! Alicia Zadig's insight into this area is very thorough and well written. Her use of quotes from many different Dommes / psychologists / and actual submissives bring a very personal touch to this book. She also backs up the data covered with some very fascinating historcial facts and up-to-date scientific statistics.

More than any of those things, her experience as both a professional and lifestyle dominant woman with a very extensive psychological background, show through in the text. There is a very warm and caring feeling I got from this book, that she and the other Dommes really do care about their submissives and the experiences that these men want / seek / get from these dominant women. Some topics were VERY erotic, some were not, some were funny, some were rather touching, but overall I just like the way she portrays all parties involved, not as freaks, but as real ife people...who are just seeking something is a bit "off center"from what most of society deems "normal"...whatever (TF) that means.

I also enjoyed her vibrant and sometimes childlike fascination with how her submissives reacted in various scenes. More than once she seemed truly engrossed in how the men reacted to things she was doing to them or the way the scene had progressed, sometimes as a surprise to both the Domme and the submissive. I loved it when she talked about putting her hand on the chest of one submissive as she put him a very unique / uncomfortable situation from his normal likes / wants, and she was captivated by how fast & hard his heart was beating as he was experiencing her deliciously evil techniques of her craft. The scene itself is not something I would care for, but it was so hot / sexy / and also very loving & caring the way she described her reaction and his.

It's also an added bonus that she is an absolute smoke-show too!!

This is a GREAT read for either dominant women (novice / curious / experienced) as well submissive men seeking experiences with dominant women.

I have read a lot of books by and about professional dominatrixes (it’s a niche interest), from tell-all memoirs to psychological analyses.

This is a bit more of the latter but with the first hand perspective that allows for snippets drawn from the author’s experience. There’s some appendices for neophytes—a glossary and suggestions for readers interested in exploring kinky things.

Recommend if you’re interested in the topic. Probably too explicit/graphic if you’re not, although it’s not written to be titillating which was refreshing since a lot of the books purportedly written by women in the field are thinly veiled erotica. Which is fine if that’s what you’re looking for.

Alicia Zadig's book, "Yes, Mistress" dives deep into the world of male submission and female domination. It's a space that often -- unfairly -- evokes giggles or mockery, but Zadig is of this world and she treats is with respect and curiosity. This book is highly recommended if you want to better understand what drives men to submit and serve.

An educational book about femdom D/s. Well, mostly about the benefits of seeing a Professional Dominatrix.

Who is this book for?
Well it is DEFINITELY for males interested in femdom, especially those considering seeing a pro.
It starts with sexy examples/stories of femdom play with a femdom. Then it goes on to explain the benefits of seeing a pro femdom and paying to get your needs met. And it ends with research about being a submissive.

Who else is this book for?
Someone, maybe a partner, who doesn’t know anything about femdom or ProDommes. You can learn all about femdom and why it is normal and healthy. There is even an appendix on how to start domming your boy.

I think that is it.

My major complaint…
I listened to the audio. The narrator wants to sound SEXY to arouse her male listeners. Great. But she takes on an accent I have never heard before that comes and goes. And when she leans in to that “sexy accent” it is sooo annoying. The accent is only on the soft “a” sound. So words like “panties” (“pahntie”), “hands” (“hahnds”), “ass” (“ahss”) and for some random reason “laytex” is pronounced “lay tax”.
This accent was less pronounced when not describing sexual things. I am sure this helps the boys listening, but I was annoyed.

Mistress Alicia Zadig's book is a must read for anyone interested in understanding the BDSM world, including its history and psychological framework.

The book is well-researched, and includes quotes and insights from well-respected historians, psychologists, sex therapists, authors and other experts in the field of human sexuality. I most enjoyed reading of Ms. Zadig's real-life experiences and of her interactions with her submissives. I also found the perspectives of her Domme colleagues to be fascinating. The book is for novices and experienced BDSM players alike.

It's informative, entertaining, and at times made even more spicy by Ms. Zadig's sense of humor. I look forward to her next book!

Extensively researched. Artfully and thoughtfully written. Incredibly sexy and exciting. Thought-provoking. These terms all aptly describe “Yes, Mistress.” Ms. Zadig explores an important aspect of human sexuality — domination and submission — that is often mischaracterized, if not altogether overlooked, by the mainstream media. And she does it in a way that is understandable for novices yet informative for experienced BDSM practitioners. I found the Appendix at the end — where she provides tips for incorporating the domination/submission dynamic into the readers’ everyday sex lives — to be a big bonus. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and found I could not put it down.

Yes Mistress is a great read on female domination. Taking the perspective of playfulness and shedding a light on something very rarely discussed enough to truly be understood is fascinating.

With her experience and research, Ms. Zadig portrays an interesting view on gender roles and power dynamics we are all accustomed to in regular daily experiences - however we don't often see them in this light. The combination of quotes and insights from various experts in the human sexuality field along with actual interviews with professionals make this very insightful, interesting and educational.

I really enjoyed this read. Of the three books dealing with BDSM which I have already read, this was the best. It was well written, factual and the contributions by other Mistresses, researchers and psychologists put the information on solid ground. It was further enriched by the anecdotal submissions (pun intended) by many of the men who avail themselves to the services of a Dominatrix. I wholly agree with the excellent review submitted by reader Steven Duffy.
