At an auction, competition can be deadly...

When Maddie attends an estate auction of artifacts from America’s spiritualist era, it’s just another day in the life of a paranormal museum owner…. Until she discovers the body of the murdered auctioneer.

Her mother is convinced the murderer is after a mysterious statuette that once belonged to the town’s Ladies Aid Society. With the holidays approaching, Maddie and friends dive into the mad world of obsessive collectors to find the missing statuette… and a killer.

Maddie tracks her suspects through a secluded gothic estate, in the wineries of Central California, and along the streets of small-town San Benedetto. But this clever criminal is determined to win at all costs. Will the killer use Maddie’s friends as the ultimate weapon against her?

Another fun installment in this cozy mystery series. These are easy, fluffy reads.

I guess these have been mostly self-published, which is a shame because they are fun and clean. There were a few glaring editing issues here.

The author says there will be another one, so I’ll keep an eye out for it.

Once again Kirsten Weiss has written a paranormal cozy hit. Going, Going, Dead is a fun and easy read but not so easy to figure out whodunit! Reading this mystery was a wonderful way to spend a wintry long weekend. I highly recommend the latest edition to the San Benedetto Paranormal Cozy Mystery series.

I have read and enjoyed this author’s Pie Town series, and found this one while looking for more of her work. The books are a lot of fun, and tell good stories at the same time.

The setting sounds ideal to anyone stuck in a cold, windy early spring day in Pennsylvania, and it would be fun to visit the Paranormal Museum. I like Maddie and her friends, and this book even made me change my mind about Maddie's mother and her Ladies Aid friends - at least for now :)

The murder victim was found very early in the book, so there was a lot of time left to figure out whodunnit. That's a good thing, because we didn't know anything at all about the victim, and it took some digging to learn more about her. As information was uncovered, the suspect list grew, and I couldn't quite make up my mind about who I thought was the culprit until just before it was revealed in the book.

Until very recently, I thought this was the last book in the series. I was happy to see that there are several more books to read - and maybe more still to come? - and am looking forward to my next visit to Maddie and her Paranormal Museum.

You can probably guess from the title, Going, Going, Dead that the choice of setting for Book 6 of this series is an auction. You can probably also guess from the series title A Paranormal Museum Cozy Mystery that it is no ordinary auction. Actually, there isn’t much of anything that is ordinary in this story.
Kirsten Weiss has done it again. By “done it” I mean written another fun book and made me laugh out loud. And what I mean by “again” is that I have read some of her books and this one is just as good. I have said in some of my previous reviews that I am too “black and white” a thinker to enjoy the paranormal genre. In my opinion, this isn’t your “woo-hoo” scary kind of paranormal book. This is a quirky cozy series with an amateur detective who owns a paranormal museum. Yep, a paranormal museum. Somehow, with the creation of her characters and a cat with a definite attitude Weiss makes this all work. Makes you laugh all the way through and be sad you finished it so quickly.
Kirsten Weiss has other series published as well as this one. Every book has high review ratings.

Auctions are generally filled with an odd assortment of trash and treasures. This time someone is will to kill for one of those treasures and our heroine is determined to find out whodunit.

This is book six of the series, but it is written as a standalone. Jump in at any time.

This is a cozy mystery with a touch of the paranormal. Nothing wrong with that! The story is well written, easy to read and just plain fun. It features a well developed setting and wonderful characters that bring the story to life. I really liked our heroine who are feisty and resourceful and willing to go that extra mile for a good mystery. Speaking of which, the mystery is a good one and features plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. Overall, it was a wonderful story and I look forward to exploring more from this author.

Highly recommended.

Kirsten Weiss is one of those authors on my immediate get list. She has several series, each one unique and all excellent.
This is a busy book, lots going on and plenty of action. It's sort of slow moving action but move it does.
My favorite is The Ladies Aid Society which Maddie's mom belongs to. Maddie gets roped into another investigation by her mother to look for a statue that has gone missing from the Ladies Aid many years ago. It's supposed to be available at an auction that Maddie is going to anyway so why not. Then there's the suspicious death at the auction. That adds to the stack. Maddie's gotten pretty good at the gig, so off she goes in her fairly focused scattershot manner, meeting all kinds of interesting folks along the way. Causing one to picket the Paranormal Museum among other things.
I like this series quite a lot and I can definitely recommend it, along with this book and definitely the author.

Maddie finds a dead body at the estate of a paranormal collector and her mother sets her on the trail of a missing statuette. Chaos and intrigue ensue.

Another well written book in the Paranormal Museum series. The character development in this series is great. Not only do we get to know Maddie well but her friends and family too. The characters are all well rounded and and solid. You learn more about them each book and I have enjoyed doing so. It rounds out a book when it is not just one character development.
The story is engaging from start to finish. There is good but not too long scenery description, the dialogue keeps you interested and a good mystery. A perfect cozy read.
This is one of my favorite series and I cannot wait for the next book.

This was a fun read! Going, Going, Dead is book 6 in the Perfectly Proper Paranormal Museum mystery series and it didn’t disappoint.

I love this series so much and this book took place at an auction. Maddie, the owner of the paranormal museum, goes to an estate auction in hopes of finding some artifacts for her museum. Things don’t go as planned when the auctioneer winds up dead.

This book was very well written and there were several twists in the plot that kept me guessing until the very end. I love how in each book you learn more about the characters, which just makes them even more enjoyable to read about. This was a particularly fun mystery to read about and I can’t wait to pick up more in the series.

Another fun book in the Perfectly Proper Paranormal Museum Mysteries.
I really enjoy this series. The Paranormal museum and surrounding area is so well described I feel as if I have visited it myself; you can close your eyes and be there with Maddie, GD and the gang.
This book centers around an auction gone wrong with multiple mysteries to solve. Expect murder, mayhem, a touch of romance and plenty of friendship.
Weiss is a master in mystery building with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing and coming back for more.

I enjoyed this mystery story with all of the characters. The main character was Maddie.

Maddie is attending an estate auction that has artifacts that dell with spiritual. She looking for something that can go in her paranormal museum. But before the auction can start she an a friend finds a dead body. While trying to find the killer her mother ask her to look for a missing statuette. This statuette is quite important to the Ladies Aid Society.

This was a fun story to read. It has action, suspense, and secrets. It also had a few laughable times. It was fun trying to guess the killer.

I read a complimentary copy via Booksprout. This is my honest unbiased opinions.

Kirsten Weiss’ Going, Going, Dead is once again a delightful dive into the cozy world of murder. Or maybe two! The Perfectly Proper Paranormal Museum series continues with a romp into the world of the spiritual movement and the collectors that delight in it’s quirkiness, at least until someone winds up dead and that’s where museum owner, Maddy Kosloski comes in.

If you are looking for an entertaining and baffling cozy mystery then pick up a copy of Kirsten Weiss’ Going, Going, Dead. Tell them GD the cat sent you!

Paranormal murders?

Another terrific entry into the Paranormal Museum series. The concept of the museum is fun and interesting, and Madelyn is a perfect proprietor. While attending a sale hoping to buy a fortune telling machine, she becomes involved with mystery and murders.
I always love the museum and the characters involved in the story, and this was no exception. Funny (and not so funny) side stories add to the enjoyment. What a delightful way to spend an afternoon absorbed in this book.

Maddie faces another bunch of adventures related to her paranormal museum

small towns harbor strange and twisted secrets - attitudes around them can be intense- even lethal, especially in an election cycle

craziness abounds when Maddie and a friend go to an estate sale for a deceased local paranormal collector

objects of power and desires ate missing. paths to locate and retrieve them are tangled and circuitous

humorous and insightful drama, action and connections

Maddie is on the hunt again in this mystery of a murder and a relic amid an auction. The characters are unique and entertaining with great differences and strengths. The storyline has drama, surprises, twists, intrigue, deception, funny situations and much more. Loved the local, the auction and the cat who continues to cause issues like the biting. The ending was a good surprise and well planned out. Great addition to the series.

I am a little worried about how long Weiss will be able to keep this series going but this one still works. Mysteries, murders, new characters, and a closer look at Ladies Aid. It still has stuff that makes me giggle and I'm just enjoying the ride. These are quick, fun fluff. I discovered there is even a website though I didn't poke around too much as I didn't want to stumble across a potential spoiler.

They also continue to be clean. Very little, if any, swearing (I can't remember) and all romance is kept strictly off the page except kisses and hugs.

Mysteries solved.

Less funny than prior books but an great story with lots of details. I really enjoyed learning the history and mission of the Ladies Aid. I love this series and feel it’s easier learning the details of the town and its inhabitants by reading them in order. Maddie’s mom is right. Maddie is a force.

Paranormal museum owner, Maddie Kosloski, finds more than she expected at an estate auction in her small hometown in California wine country. Maddie had hoped to find a small statue that had once belonged to the local Ladies Aid Society, but instead, she once again is on the scene when a murdered body is discovered.
