In a park full of squirrels, it’s hard to be a mouse. Is a big, fluffy tail what it takes to make a friend? Tullio will try anything–even a “tail wig”–to find out! Children will love this charming, funny, and sweet story about the importance of self-acceptance and finding friends who appreciate you just as you are.
I read it to get the rest of my pages in because I was close but it was a good book. i think that it was good because it's good for kids and easy to read. If I were to recommend it to anybody I would recommend it to Abbie because I know that she would like it and it would be a good book for her. SHe has aura and so does the book. It's about a mouse and different types of tails. I would also recommend it to a little kid I babysit named Ben. He is super awesome and he is super smart. He's like 3 and he can read super well so I think it might like this book.
This book is wonderful for young children to learn about accepting others for who they are! In this book, the mouse realizes they have a weird looking tail in comparison to the squirrel. They also realize that the squirrel gets more love and attention, and the mouse believes it is due to their tail. As a result, the mouse embarks on an adventure to give themself a cuter, more attractive tail. When it comes time to show it off though, the wind whips the new tail off and reveals the old one. Even with the old tail revealed, he encounters a young girl who still offers him love and food, showing him its okay to look different! This book is wonderful for children to learn that it’s okay to look different. Its best for younger elementary children to read this book since the pages are so shirt, but definitely a good book for children.
A little mouse wonders why everyone at the park loves and feeds squirrels, but dislikes and chases him away. The mouse decides to disguise himself by wearing a fake tail and pretending to be a squirrel--but then he makes an important discovery about true friendship and self-acceptance when he meets a human friend who likes mice just how they are!
A fun, sweet little story about staying true to yourself, finding friends who like you for who you are, and of course, being kind to animals who we may have deemed less cute than others.
What a sweet ‘tail’ about finding acceptance versus trying to be someone you’re not. Perfect for a little kid, especially one who is starting pre-k or kindergarten or is already in them but struggling to make friends.
this was so cute!! the illustrations were adorable and fun, and the story has a great message about self-acceptance and finding others who will love you for you!
My husband always says that squirrels are as annoying as rats, but they get away with it because of the cute, bushy tails. It was fun to stumble upon a book that agrees with him.
