Book 1: Million-Dollar Mix-Up Book 2: Million-Dollar Consequences
Jessica Lemmon is a former job-hopper who resides in Ohio with her husband and rescue dogs. She holds a degree in graphic design currently gathering dust in an impressive frame. When she’s not writing emotionally-charged stories, she spends her time drawing, drinking coffee, and laughing with friends. Her motto is Read for fun, and she believes we should all do more of what makes us happy.
"All the world isn't a stage." This sentence sums up most of the book for me. Although it was a sweet story, with an HEA and some cute moments, I feel like it was rushed, and I didn't feel a connection. What I value most about a book is how it makes me feel when I'm done reading it, and it saddens me to say I didn't feel anything when I reached the end of this one.
"Women everywhere loved him, but only one woman mattered." I couldn't relate to either of the characters. Unlike his brother, the hero of the previous book, I felt like Isaac was very self-absorbed and way too focused on his career. He meets Meghan and it's all very insta-lusty, but lacking feeling. It felt like he was acting all the time. At the same time, it felt to me like Meghan was very childlike. On the one hand, she wanted to be taken seriously by everyone, while on the other she didn't behave like it.
"You muddle my head, Squire. I think I'm starting to like it." Although Jessica tries to show them catching feelings for each other while they're in a fake relationship, I never fully believed it. Maybe it was because it was too fast. Maybe because there was a lot going on that was related to Isaac's filming, and the show he's on. Maybe because the love between Kendall and Max, the heroine and hero of the first book, seemed to shine a lot brighter than this couple's. Maybe all of the above.
"I never wanted you to be temporary." However, if you're a fan of fake relationships and accidental pregnancy, and in need of a quick, sweet read, this may be the book for you. It's entertaining enough, but I just expected more.
I was waiting for this book after reading the previous one–and because I’m a sucker for fake relationships–and though it slightly missed the mark, I can’t say I regret reading it.
Not the characters’ fault. Isaac was the opposite of his twin brother, open and immediatly likeable. So much that I wondered how true the feelings he expressed were. Answer: not totally. He was full of insecurities and a need for celebrity and recognition. I was curious about how hard he needed to be hit over the head to change his priorities. Answer: pretty hard. But Meghan was the kind that gives as much as she gets. She would never let him walk all over her. She just needed to realize her worth.
Their dynamic was explosive. The attraction was immediate and strong, and they were on the same page–at first, at least. They were both enjoying life one day at a time, with ambitions that a relationship in the spotlight would help them achieve. The tension came from the fact that they were faking a serious relationship while having a casual fling. That warped a lot of their interactions and blurred the line between fake and real. Until the pregnancy test that upset their plans.
The real problem of the book, I think, comes from the pace and the structure. The pregnancy that is announced in the blurb doesn’t happen before the very last part of the story, and I felt like the whole beginning was just stretched out. Not that nothing happens–there’s the flirting and seduction, of course, but also we get some behind the scene of a TV show, and the Dunn brothers and the Squire sisters have some healing and reconciling to do. But that makes the ending and the happily ever after quite rushed.
I enjoyed the growing up that Meghan and Isaac experience, as well as the whole siblings theme–what kind of relationship siblings can have, the twin thing, the missing brother, the protectiveness that comes with having a sibling. Meghan and Isaac have a different relationship with their sibling, and there are comparisons.
It wasn’t the best series by the author, but it was good quality romance nonetheless.

Fake relationship books are always a lot of fun. They are definitely one of my favorite tropes as I love watching the characters figure out how to navigate through something that they were certain would go one way...but didn't.
Isaac and Meghan have the brilliant (they think) idea to pretend to date. It's going well...so well in fact that she ends up pregnant...making that which was supposed to be fake into something that is very real.
I enjoyed the way the author handled the evolution of the relationship as it changed and I thought the reactions of the characters to their situation felt real.
Parts of this one did feel a little rushed and like they could have been given a little more depth in the story, but not rushed enough to make me lose interest in the story.
This was a good fake relationship story. At the end of the previous book, Million-Dollar Mix-Up, Isaac tried to save face by claiming a secret girlfriend. A few months later and he is getting pressured to produce that girlfriend. He's starting to worry about what will happen if he doesn't when the perfect candidate practically drops in his lap.
When Isaac and his twin brother, Max, were kids, they starred in a sitcom, sharing the role of the son, Danny. When the series ended ten years later, Max couldn't wait to get out of Hollywood, while Isaac wanted to continue his career. This caused a split between the brothers, which is finally starting to heal. But Isaac's career was pretty lackluster until he was asked to star in a reboot of the old show. He's counting on the show to give his career a boost, hopefully into movies. He can't afford any negative publicity.
During dinner with his brother and his brother's girlfriend, Isaac's agent, Isaac meets Kendall's younger sister Meghan. Meghan is a podcaster whose shows deal with the tv programs that were popular when she was a kid. Her favorite was Isaac's show, and she had a massive crush on him then. She is excited to meet him and ask him to be on her show.
Meghan has a reputation in her family for being a bit flighty and irresponsible, so she isn't taken very seriously. Kendall tends to be a heavy-handed older sister, handing out advice and creating tension between them. They are just starting to repair that relationship, though Kendall is still a little slow about remembering that Meghan is an adult. Complicating matters, Meghan just left a relationship with a man who constantly put her down, affecting her self-confidence.
When Isaac and Meghan meet, their attraction is instant and intense. Isaac wastes no time asking Meghan if she'd be interested in pretending to be his girlfriend for a few weeks. He insists it would be good for both their careers. He would have that question of his girlfriend resolved, and she would have access to him and the other stars for her podcast - a win-win situation. The icing on the cake is their attraction will give it authenticity, and they can enjoy themselves together.
I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. Besides their off-the-charts chemistry, they discover that they honestly like each other. They have a lot in common and enjoy spending time together. But the longer they are together, the harder it becomes to remember that the relationship isn't real. Isaac goes so far as to expect Meghan to uproot her life on the East Coast and follow him to California. He lost some points with me because he was a self-centered jerk. I didn't blame Meghan for being angry with him. I liked seeing her stand up to him.
Matters become complicated when Meghan discovers she's pregnant. By this time, she's realized she's in love with Isaac but has no idea how he feels about her. Once again, his reaction lands on the jerk side, with him seeming more concerned about the effect on his life than what it means for Meghan. Things fall apart when his attempt to make things right goes very wrong. I hurt for Meghan, who was hoping for his heart, not his head. I loved seeing the sibling discussions that helped the unhappy pair find their way back together. Isaac's big moment was sweet and emotional, and I liked seeing him finally get his priorities straight. The epilogue was a terrific wrap-up for the series. I liked seeing both couples a few months down the road.
One of the things I enjoyed about this book was seeing more of Kendall and Max. They were a terrific example for Meghan and Isaac; if only they could see it.
This is the conclusion to the Dunn brothers stories. This time the focus is Issac, the brother who appeared in a secondary role in the first book. He is paired with Meghan, sister to his agent, Kendall.
This is a cute story were a “fake” relationship has real consequences. I liked Meghan and Issac, even if I didn’t connect with them super well. The character development for both was interesting, but a bit surface level.
Issac had a decent development arc, but again, I felt like the easiest route was taken. Early in the story there was a big deal made about producers expectations, but those issues were not really addressed as the conflict resolved itself.
Overall, this was an entertaining book that did its job, but I wanted a little bit more of just about everything.
Sweet with heat. Temptation hits a speed bump when it comes to matters of the heart. Million Dollar Consequences is full of breathtaking moments that will steal your heart.
Max and Issac Dunn are twins, former child actors. After their show, Brooks Knows Best, ended when they were teens Issac chose to stay in Los Angeles and work on his acting career. Max wanted no part of that. Then when their show is revived and filmed in Max's town of Dunn, Virginia Issac meets Meghan Squire, podcaster and sister of Max's girlfriend Kendall. Issac and Meghan hit it off and the plan becomes Meghan becoming Issac's pretend fiancee. What a crazy way to begin a relationship! I enjoyed reading along as their pretend relationship becomes real and Meghan gets pregnant. This was a fun read! Author Jessica Lemmon tells the story with a very interesting storyline and well-developed and likable characters. This was a super ending to the Dunn Brothers Duet.
Book two in the Dunn Brothers books revolves around Isaac Dunn and his part in bringing the Brooks Knows Best show to Dunn, VA, in which he and twin brother Max played Danny Brooks for most of their childhood and teen years. Also in book one, Max became involved with Kendall, who manages Isaac, and now the two are engaged and living in Dunn, VA. Isaac is thrilled when the reboot reunion show is being filmed in Dunn and Isaac can reconnect more with Max, they had gone their separate ways years ago and now have the chance to rekindle their relationship as brothers. Kendall’s sister Meghan is visiting and she has a popular Podcast interviewing actors from her favourite shows as a child and would love to interview Isaac, who is her dream come true interview, and who she had a childhood crush on. Meghan gets more than she bargained for, first she is going into a “fake” engagement with him and then when the relationship becomes more than fake, another complication arises. One that will be known in nine months' time.
The attraction between Isaac and Meghan was instant and they acted on that chemistry from the first moment they met. I love all the complications and all the crazy events that happened between them. It made for great reading and I could not wait to turn the page to see what was happening next with these two wonderful characters. Plus, we got a lot more of Max and Kendall.
Jessica did a wonderful job of rounding the Dunn Brother’s stories. I am not usually a great lover of “twin” books, but as we have a pair in our family, I love to see what authors do with twin siblings. And Jessica wrote 2 wonderful books for two great characters with great HEA. I wonder if we will get more from these two brothers and their partners....
Thanks Jessica and her team for a copy of this book to give my honest review.
I enjoyed this book so much. Isaac and Meghan are amazing. I loved their chemistry and passion. I liked the pacing of the story and how their issues were resolved. I loved seeing Max and Kendall again. Jessica Lemmon has a great way of making her characters feel relatable and down to earth. This story is so fantastic. I truly enjoyed The Dunn Brothers Series.
I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving an ARC.
Issac Dunn is on the precipice of renewed stardom. A former child star, Issac and his twin brother Max played the same son on the popular sitcom for ten years. Though Issac's stardom waned in the intervening years, the show is getting a reboot and Issac is excited to get a chance again to make his career what he always wanted it to be. Except, he recently was drawn into a controversy when it seemed like he was dating his agent (who actually happened to be dating his brother). Issac covered saying he's actually in a relationship but was respecting the women's privacy.
Now, Issac is scrambling to find a real woman to fill the shoes of a fake girlfriend. Enter podcaster Meghan Squire.
Meghan has been a huge fan of Issac Dunn since she watched his show years ago. To get to interview him for her podcast is a dream come true. When Issac asks Meghan to pretend to be his girlfriend, she's game. But the chemistry between these two is off the charts and soon it becomes less pretend and more real.
I liked the conclusion to the Dunn Brother's story. Although I felt like the cover kind of easily gives things away which wouldn't be unheard of, surprise pregnancy is a tried and true trope after all, but I felt like it was an afterthought. I think the story was doing just fine with the fake relationship.
What I really liked the best was when Issac's dreams and future plans come up against his feelings for Meghan and her dreams and future plans which tend to be opposite. What happens when you love someone, but their goals are taking them in the opposite direction from where you want to be? And vice versa?
I loved seeing them evaluate what is truly important.
I think this was a fitting conclusion to the duology. Jessica Lemmon is truly an author you can count on to deliver a satisfying Happily Ever After.
I was initially drawn to Million-Dollar Consequences by the setup from book one of the Dunn Brothers series, where Isaac found himself in a PR nightmare after faking a relationship. This book started out with Isaac desperate to placate his producer by producing said girlfriend. Enter the beauty he's immediately attracted to-his agent's sister. I was hooked...this had all the potential for lots of drama. Sadly, it just sort of fizzled from that point on. Yes, Isaac and Meghan had tons of chemistry and were hot for each other from the get-go. But their own hang-ups and constant internalized rehashing of why this relationship could never be more than temporary really began to grate on my nerves. I wanted to love the characters, given how much I loved Max and Kendall, but I never got a real sense of connection with them. Meghan is portrayed as both flighty and extremely passionate/committed to promoting her podcast. The two sides didn't really seem to mesh well. Isaac was, in my humble opinion, a self-observed jerk, and I never felt as though he truly thought of Meghan as anything more than an obligation once the pregnancy was announced. I almost DNF'd this title, but finished it because I enjoyed the scenes that Max and California were involved in—seeing their happily ever after play out on the pages was worth slogging through the rest of the book.
From childhood crush to pretend girlfriend, Meghan Squire goes from zero to one hundred in a minute. Scoring an interview with actor Isaac Dunn is a dream come true: it gives her the chance to improve her podcast popularity and, at the same time, she can meet her childhood crush, the one that still has a part of her heart. When Isaac poses his dilemma (he needs a fake girlfriend to covered a lie he told a few months back to the press), Meghan is the perfect candidate. However, neither anticipated the fierce attraction they’ll develop for each other: when hugs turn to kisses and those kisses lead to tangled sheets, consequences are just around the corner. Will they be able to sort through their issues? Will they see they’re more than just pretend?
I loved these stories about the Dunn brothers, how they overcame their pasts, and had a journey to travel before they realized that love is just around the corner, and the woman standing beside them is the perfect fit for them. Love was not supposed to be easy, however, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible, they’ve just got to give it a chance.
**Disclaimer:I’ve received this book as an ARC from the author and this is my free and honest review***
This is a really great couple, they’re very alike in their personalities and so opposite in other aspects of their lives. Their chemistry shines since you start to read. Also, their romance goes organically. Not to mention how hot they’re together!
Something that captured my attention is how both Isaac and Meghan deal with their respective siblings, Max (Isaac’s twin brother) and Kendall (Megan’s sister). They had struggles with them on their teenage years and still those issues affected their interactions. That said, how they managed to restore their relationships. I suggest to read the first book of the series, because it will help you understand the siblings’ dynamics.
This is my first book from this author, and is a very nice discovery. Ms. Lemmon’s writing style is alluring, with clever quotes that made me laugh. I hope you get a chance to read this book. It’ll be a pretty good experience.
The Dunn brothers were child stars who grew up and made it big. Max left the Hollywood scene and wanted to be isolated and away from the fame. Issac however didn’t. He loved the spotlight and the fame and continued to act.
I won’t give too many spoilers due to it giving away some from the previous book. But! Max is with Kendall (Issacs agent) and Issac gets caught up in a fake relationship with Kendall’s sister Meghan.
Meghan is this sweet bubbly blonde with a podcast. She has been a fan of the Dunn brothers tv show forever but primarily interested in Issac. She gets the opportunity of a life time to fake date Issac as his saving grace. Their relationship becomes messy and complicated really quick. But Meghan with the help of Kendall and Max, help Issac to see that there is more to life than fame and spotlight.
Rating: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 3/5 🌶🌶🌶 Series or stand alone: series/ Book 2 of Dunn Brothers 📚
Million Dollar Consequence is the newest book in the Dunn brothers series. Main players this time are Isaac, who we met in book one (Million Dollar Mix-up) and Meghan who is Kendall’s (his agent) sister.
I am hit or miss with fake relationship troupes and this one missed the mark for me. I wanted to connect with the characters but I don’t feel like they reached their peak. There was growth and development for each of them but I think more was needed to get them to a place I feel real change and knowledge of self would show up. Their relationship had steam, don’t’ get me wrong, but it fell a little flat overall.
The book overall was an interesting read, but just didn’t have factors I like to find in my books. I was left feeling like something was missing from the storyline by the end.
Make-believe becomes all too real in the conclusion of The Dunn Brothers duet! I highly recommend you read the first book in the series before reading this one so you will get the full enjoyment of Isaac's story. The storyline picks up soon after his twin Max's story MILLION-DOLLAR MIX-UP and is fast paced and enjoyable from start to finish.
Isaac is endearing now that we know the history of he and Max and watching him reconnect and begin to enjoy the family side of life again is heartwarming.
Meghan is fresh and fun and really added a lot to the feel of the story.
I highly recommend this book as well as the other book in the duet to anyone who enjoys family drama mixed in with a highly addictive romance and storyline as a set of twin brothers find their forever.
Million Dollar Consequences is a witty, swoon worthy, romantic read that brings both heart and heat. It is the second book in the Dunn brothers series and features Isaac, and Meghan Squire, the sister of Isaac's publicist who also happens to be dating his twin brother Max. Isaac and Meghan fake a relationship as a fallout of his lie (if you read book #1 you know all about the fake girlfriend lie) and immediately hit it off. It's not long before real feelings develop but things really take a turn when Meghan finds out that she's carrying Isaac's baby. This was a fun read. Isaac is more laid back than his brother so the banter between him and Meghan added to their chemistry. Initially they both come off as flakey and career driven (Isaac with his acting career and Meghan with her pod cast), but when faced with the choices of their fake relationship they manage to pull it together to find their delightful happy ever after.
Many thanks to the author for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
Million Dollar Consequences is the second book in the duet following the Dunn brothers, and this time we see Isaac Dunn put through his paces with Meghan Squire. Isaac and Meghan meet each other through their respective siblings (who were the main characters in the first book) and decide to fake an engagement to help them with their careers. The two of them have an instant attraction and share spectacular chemistry which is very much real.
I really enjoyed being back in Dunn with Isaac and Meghan. Meeting Max and Kendall again was fun and I loved the dynamic between all four characters whenever they had scenes together. This book was a pleasurable getaway for me and as always Ms Lemmon's writing was brilliant. I would definitely recommend this series.
This is the second book that I have read by Jessica Lemmon about the Dunn Brothers. This story picks up where the last one (about Max and Kendall) left off. In this book Isaac comes to Dunn Virginia to film a special feature of his former hit TV show Brooks Knows Best. He has an instant attraction to Meghan (Kendall’s sister) and works out a deal for her to pretend to be his girlfriend. Well, we all know that’s not going to go smoothly!
So much unexpected craziness that can only be explained as bad luck but is it really fate?
Such an enjoyable read - can’t wait to get more of the happy couples!
I just adore Jessica Lemmon books and this one didn't disappoint! Isaac has found himself in a predicament. But upon meeting Meghan he realizes he has a way out. I mean, if it worked for his brother, it could work for him, right?! These two are thrown together and the chemistry between them was off the charts! They went into things knowing it wasn't real, but the chemistry couldn't be faked. This was a fun story to get lost in and I didn't want to put this book down. Be sure to grab this great read!
Million Dollar Consequences by Jessica Lemmon is the second book in the Dunn bothers series. Max and Issac Dunn are twins, former child actors. We meet Isaac and Meghan in this fake relationship trope story. Even though they come together for lie, they immediately hit it off and have feelings involved. Jessica Lemmon has written a relatable story where the reader immediately falls in love with the main characters. I really enjoyed this book and the series.
I enjoyed this story very much. Isaac lied, first he told fans, he is in relationship with woman, his brother love, then, when this blow out, he told fans, his girlfriend want to be out of spotlights. Now he needs to find that girlfriend. that's where Meghan comes, she is a sister of his brother girlfriend. She wants interview with Isaac for her podcast. Great storyline. Loved every page of this book
Typically I love Jessica Lemmon's books and can't get enough of them. This one was good but not one her better ones, I think. I found it to be very predictable and not a lot of build up to it. About half way thru I wasn't sure I was going to finish it (this has never been the case before with one of Ms Lemmon's books!). It started to pick up after that and I liked it but the ending fell short of what I hoping to see.
Overall the book was good, not my favorite from Jessica Lemmon but her stories still suck me in everytime! I didn’t think the pregnancy was necessary for the storyline but it helped develop the relationship and put the characters feelings into perspective. Their chemistry was undeniable and overall a great plot line! This series hasn’t been my favorite so I think I had a harder time getting into this book.
“Million-Dollar Consequences” by Jessica Lemmon is the second book in the Dunn Brothers duet.
Meghan Squire and Isaac Dunn need each other. Meghan needs Isaac to boost her podcast audience and Isaac needs Meghan and their fake relationship to boost his career. He’s trying to make a comeback and she wants to prove she can be successful on her own. Except, it’s all fun and games until hearts get involved.
“Million-Dollar Consequences” is an easy read – perfect for a summer day.
This is the 2nd book in the series and it didn’t disappoint. The H needs a fake girlfriend because of a lie his twin brother and agent told in the last book. The h is the sister of the previous h h the last book. They act as an engaged couple but an unexpected pregnancy brings makes everything real. Both have insecurities but find their way to each other. Great epilogue.
Isaac and Meghan!!! Million Dollar Consequences, by Jessica Lemmon, book two in the Dunn Brothers series, was an amazing read. Only Ms Lemmon to turn billionaire stories into a steamy, sexy AF read !!! Loved this serie and the twins !!!! I recommend this serie... you will love both brothers for sure .
Million Dollar Consequences was a quick-read enjoyable romance! The characters were very likable and the storyline flowed smoothly. I enjoyed the continuation story of the twin brothers, Isaac and Max, from Million-Dollar Mix-Up. I am a fan of Author Jessica Lemmon and this book adds to that! 4 stars!
This was everything I have come to expect with a Jessica Lemmon book! I was so excited to get this story! It was a wonderful Duo Series, I hope there are more to come! I would love to see a Holiday Novella:)
