Losing my heart to a billionaire is dangerous business…
He finds me drinking alone at the bar at my best friend’s wedding. Our chemistry is immediate and electric. Within minutes, I forget all about the date who stood me up.
What happens next, I’ll leave to your imagination. All I’ll say is that it was scorching hot and extremely memorable.
The following morning, I find a note, but not a number. I’m more disappointed than I care to admit.
Six months later, I start a job at Lee Enterprises. Graphic design isn’t my passion, but an artist in New York City needs to pay the bills.
On my first day, I bump into the CEO, whose success is rumored to have earned him powerful enemies.
But we don’t need an introduction because we already know each other. Intimately.
When he calls me to a private meeting in his office, I wonder exactly what he has in mind.
Only I can’t be expected to know that my heart won’t be the only thing in danger… Mr. Hudson is the first in a series of larger-than-life billionaire romances. Ifyou like sizzling romance, wealthy heartthrob heroes, and gripping suspense, then you’ll love Mary Jenning’s standalone series starter with a guaranteed HEA!
Consider this to be on the lower end of a 3. I enjoyed this so much in the beginning, I was charmed by both the main characters and the setup, but then things spiralled downhill. Emelie was being stubborn for no good reason so that kinda but a damper on the whole experience. We could have spent the second half of the book watching them get to know each other better and working out their supposed differences together, but instead, we got the cold shoulder and a dumb kidnapping.
I still enjoyed this read, I just hoped for better in the end.
Not my type of book😆 Too much pushing away from the heroine that is too much and annoying af!!!! And the worst part is that: we only get to read the heroine and hero kissing, grinding, touching and have a one night stand but the one night stand doesn’t show the full action. So basically it doesn’t show they’re having s*x at all!!!! Even in the end there’s no s*x 😂😂 and in the end I know i just wasted my time🤣🤣🤣
THE HERO and heroine have a one night stand in LONDON and the hero have to leave immediately in the morning because he have important job to do, they didn’t contact or see each other for 6 months. They meet again after 6 months but the heroine is the new employee in the hero’s company’s. The hero is the hot young handsome CEO… Thats hot lol.
Even when the hero see her again, He was surprised and pursue her afterwards. Which i find romantic❤️❤️
“IT WAS HER. THE WOMAN THAT EZRA COULDN’T GET OUT OF HIS MIND FROM THE MOMENT HE FIRST SAW HER SIX MONTHS AGO.”
“He had wanted to look for the mysterious woman who had set his entire world on fire in the best way possible, but he didn’t know where to start.”
‼️‼️‼️DID THE HERO REGRET LEAVING THE HEROINE ALONE THAT MORNING? YES.
“PART OF ME WAS TEMPTED TO ASK THE PILOT TO TURN AROUND AND BRING ME BACK, BUT I WAS TELLING THE TRUTH WHEN I MENTIONED I HAD TO LEAVE FOR A WORK-RELATED EMERGENCY. BELIEVE ME, THOUGH. I DEFINITELY DID NOT MEAN TO LEAVE YOU HIGH AND DRY.”
“I’VE THOUGHT OF YOU PRETTY MUCH CONSTANTLY SINCE LEAVING LONDON. NOW THAT YOU’VE MIRACULOUSLY STUMBLED ACROSS MY PATH. I’LL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO CONVINCE YOU.”
‼️‼️‼️The hero pursue the heroine pretty much in this entire book which is annoying because the heroine is so freaking annoying. THE HEROINE IS CHILDISH, SELFISH, NAIVE, STUPID, STUBBORN BUT IN A STUPID-WRONG WAY AND INSECURE. Damn i hate reading a heroine who is obviously beautiful but too stupid to realize it and too blind to have insecurities.
I want to punch the heroine so bad 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I HAD TO READ SO MANY OF THE HEROINE STUPID DECISIONS AND STUPID INSECURITIES THAT DOESN’T EVEN MAKE SENSE 🥴🥴🥴🤢🤮🤮 I literally want to slap the heroine for her to see the reality 🙄🙄🙄😬😬😬😐😐😐
I was so disappointed to see a heroine like this…
‼️‼️‼️I GIVE THIS BOOK A 3 STARS BASICALLY FOR THE HERO HIMSELF. THE HERO IS AMAZING HERE. THE HERO IS LOVING, POSSESSIVE, ALPHA MALE, VERY PROTECTIVE AND CARING AND LOVING TO THE HEROINE EVEN WHEN THE HERO IS BEING ALL THAT STUPID CHILDISH INSECURE AND PUSHING HIM AWAY TOO MUCH… THE HERO NEVER DOUBT THE HEROINE’S LOYALTY EVEN WHEN SHE’S BEING SOOOOO SELFISH WITH HERSELF. THE HERO ALWAYS WANTS TO PROTECT THE HEROINE EVEN WHEN THE HEROINE DOESN’T THINK ABOUT HIM AT ALL OR EVEN CONTACT HIM….
“Emilie was a complete mystery to him, but she fascinated him. He had to know more about her.”
‼️‼️‼️THE HERO AND HEROINE CONTINUED TO SEE EACH OTHER AFTER THE OFFICE AND THE HERO REALLY SHOWS THAT HE WANTS TO BE WITH THE HEROINE SOOO BADLY… THE HEROINE ALWAYS PUSHING HIM AWAY AND TO FOCUS ON HERSELF. Basically being selfish and stupid.
The hero even said this:
“I wish this didn’t have to be a secret. If i could, I would run yelling through the halls of Hudson enterprise about how beautiful you are.”
“I mean it, i’ll buy every single page of your sketchbooks for one million dollars each if it means you can quit this dumb company of mine and be my girlfriend publicly without all the current complications. I know you want to do it by yourself and I respect that, but I also think you should consider the benefits of taking advantage of a guy with ample disposable income and zero self respect.”
They weren’t actually dating because when the hero asked the heroine about being his girlfriend, the heroine declined it. Because she is too childish and too insecure.
Basically the hero wants the heroine and obsessed with the heroine sooo badly… He got it bad for the heroine. There’s too many sweet and romantic real words he said about the heroine. The hero in here is amazing and great man!!!!!
‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE IMMEDIATELY LIES AND WENT THE HERO’S BACK TO SEE THE HERO’S ENEMY A RIVAL FROM THE COMPANY. SHE KNOWS THAT THE MAN WAS BAD AND EVEN ONE PERSON ALREADY WARN HER ABOUT THAT MAN. THE MAN WHO IS THE RIVAL BUYS ONE PAINT FROM THE HEROINE AND EVEN STALK THE HEROINE BECAUSE HE KNOWS SHE IS IMPORTANT TO THE HERO. THAT MAN TOLD THE HEROINE HE WANTS HER TO PAINT HIM A BIGGER ONE BECAUSE HE WANTS TO PUT IT IN HIS BIG GIANT COMPANY’S LOBBY. KNOWING HE ALREADY IS A BAD NEWS FROM SOMEONE THE HEROINE’S KNOWS, THE HEROINE STILL DO IT AND AGREES BECAUSE SHE SAID SHE WANTS TO DO THIS FOR HERSELF WITH OR WITHOUT THE HERO PERMISSION. SEE… SHE SO STUPID AND SELFISH.
Everything went sh*t after that because the heroine got kidnapped and it takes hours to finally saved her.
In her time of being kidnapped, she was being push and they were hard on her but not r*pe her. Even her time like that, she wishes many times and even pray once about not wanting to meet the hero. The heroine constantly saying in her time of being kidnapped, she regrets meeting the hero because in that mess its all because of the hero. WHEN THE HEROINE IS THE FAULT HERE!!!! NOT THE HEROOOO!!!!! SHE WAS THE ONE WHO WENT TO THE BAD MAN KNOWING HE IS BAD NEWS BECAUSE SHE WAS MONEY HUNGRY AND TOO NAIVE AND TOO INSECURE ABOUT WANTING HER OWN BIG MONEY FROM HER PAINTING. SHE WENT BEHIND THE HERO’S BACK. It was her damn fault that she got kidnapped in the first place. The heroine even so stupid to even pray like “please let me go back and erase him from my life. I’ll do anything.” When the hero was busy and going crazy about finding the heroine!!!!!!
Even after the kidnapped thing, the heroine went to a hospital and when the hero heard the heroine have broken this and that (not too deep) the hero cried. He freaking cried because thats how much he loves and adores the heroine.
The fcked up part is when the heroine wakes up, they talk and the hero says to the heroine about going on a date and be together again, the heroine said no. After knowing he saved her…. WTF WTF WTF.
The hero even sank down onto his knees and pressed his palms together in a praying gesture in front of the heroine and beg her to forgive him!!!!!!!! WHEN HE DID NOTHING WRONG. The heroine say yes of course after he do that and they live happily ever after.
Even in the end there’s no s*x scene.
Disappointing AS FCK.
I want the hero all for myself 🤣🤣🤣
‼️‼️‼️NO CHEATING, NO VIRGINS, NO DRAMA WITH OW AND OM (only with the hero’s enemy).
‼️‼️‼️LOCATION: NEW YORK.
👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽Thank you so much for reading my review❤️❤️ For you who loves my review and follow it, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did not get paid or be told to do a review on a book. I’m here just to write review about a book so i can remember it. Its my honest opinion😚 I didn’t know at first people will find me and follow me and trust me to be honest, I was surprised myself to look at the notifications from people who reach out to me😆 So everything i write down here on a review is based on my personal opinion and based on my true writing. I DID NOT COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW OR WRITING SKILL because at first when i was using this app for one year i didn’t know how to scroll down on a book and see the reviews from others😂😅🤣 I know, silly me but hey I finally learned my lesson 😛😛😛 Thats why when people assume i copy someone’s review i was like what? Because at first i didn’t know how to use this app properly and i didn’t know how to open someone’s review because for a year i never follow someone or add friends or someone😂😂😂🤣 (I’m laughing so hard) 🤪 AND I NEVER COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW EVER. IF I WRITE SOMETHING WRONG OR DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND BE NICE OKAY. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽✋🏽✋🏽
I have a disclaimer down bellow if you have negative thoughts about my review😙😙😙
🌐🌐🌐➡️↘️⬇️➡️This is my own personal thoughts and opinion about the book so if thats not sit right with you or you feel I’m not being fair blablabla, please know that everybody in this world have their own different things that they like and don’t like. It may not be the same thing with you but thats okay because i am my own person and you cannot control me or tell me what to do. For example; i put ketchup (tomato sauce) on my fried chicken. You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. And in the end of the day i always liked and show my respect to books and people’s opinions on books whenever that book is good or not good in my opinion 😊 Respect people’s opinions guys😙😙 I don’t want to write this down because its not really my thing to do it. To like address something like this when obviously i know the people who’s been reading my reviews many times and all the time, they are smart enough to understand and respect other people’s opinions no matter what their opinions on book or their point of view 😙😙 am i right? 💕 also there are people even though i already write “this book is different because i have my own taste of book” those people still comment my taste is this and that when HELLO… everybody have their own thoughts on books and what they want to read… why i read it then? I read it and give it a review because i have to read a book to give it a review… why not read the description book to understand before I’m going to read it? Hello just in case you haven’t notice, description books can be tricky because they write this amazing things about a book but turns out the story is so toxic. Maybe for me its toxic but not for you? YES HELLO THATS WHY US HUMAN BEING HAVE OUR DIFFERENCES, WHAT I LIKE IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU WILL LIKE IT AND EITHER WAY TOO. why i still write the review then if i just don’t like a book? Because I CAN and i want to, you cannot tell me what to do and not what to do🤪 if you still wants to be negative and be karens about my review on book after all of what i just write, i will never acknowledge you and simply ignore you because its not that hard🙏 I won’t respond to negativity comments🙏🏼🙏🏼 DON’T ASK ME AGAIN ABOUT WHY NOT RESPONDING TO YOUR NEGATIVE COMMENTS BECAUSE I ALREADY SAY IT HERE AND I WON’T BE EXPLAINING AGAIN BECAUSE WE’RE NOT CHILDREN SO ITS NOT HARD FOR YOU AN ADULT TO UNDERSTAND😌😌 YES MY REVIEW IS LONG BUT YOU READ IT ANYWAY AND ITS FINE ACTUALLY I CAN WRITE AS LONG AS I LIKE😎 YES MY GRAMMAR IS BAD SOMETIMES AND MAYBE ALL THE TIME BUT LUCKILY MANY PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT I’M SAYING🤪 ⬅️↖️↕️⬅️↩️⤴️
Was very disappointed with this book. It started off so goodish. We got the g rated one night stand. Then it fell flat. Half way through the book I almost quit reading but I thought it could get better. Nope. It just dragged on and on and then the ending!!OMG. what a waste of time. They have sex one time! Once! Boring. Ugh and the way the author portrayed Ezra- like a love sick puppy pining after Emilie was maddening.
This book caught my eye on instagram and I thought it was gonna be a good read… boy was I wrong. I spent most of my day trying to power through this book. Save your time and skip this one.
This is the worst book I've read in a while. I physically wanted to hit the female MC of this book for being so whiny, hypocrite and stupid. An example of her hypocrisy that enraged me to no end: She goes to a fundraiser gala with the male MC and judges him for mingling with people who only donate to charity to show off their money and breaks up with him because she thinks they are too different and she can never be with the kind of person who can be surrounded by such rich self obsessed jerk. Same girl then goes on to work for a guy who is known for money laundering and earning his money by selling drugs who offers her a lot of money to paint a mural. She is warned by every single person she knows that this guy is dangerous and bad news so she should stay away from him. What does she do? She justifies taking the job by saying it is not her business or problem to worry how he runs his business. She thinks nothing is more important than her career and this is a great opportunity. So she takes the job, gets kidnapped and BLAMES it all on the male MC!
Emilie is stood up by her date at her friend's wedding, but she ends up meeting an attractive man named Ezra at the reception. The physical chemistry between Ezra and Emilie is apparent and they proceed to have a one-night stand.
The two of them meet up again six months later by pure coincidence when Emilie gets a job as a graphic designer at a company that Ezra owns. Ezra feels like this is his chance to finally be with the woman who made a strong impression on him six months ago.
The book started off as promising, but it kind of fell flat. This book is labeled as a romance, but the two main characters weren't together as a couple for the majority of the book. Most of the plot entailed Ezra trying to convince Emilie to date him and start a relationship, but Emilie resisted many of his advances because she wanted to focus on her burgeoning career as an artist. Emilie only planned on working at Ezra's company temporarily and she believed dating Ezra would be a distraction that would impede her attempts at becoming a real artist.
Instead of Ezra and Emilia getting to know each other and working through any differences or issues that would have occurred in their relationship, Emilie spent most of the book barely communicating with Ezra and refusing to have a real conversation about her concerns in pursuing a relationship with him.
Unfortunately, for people expecting to read a romance, the author decided to devote most of the story to Ezra's relationship with his business rival, Anderson Blackwell. The book turned out to be more of a suspense thriller.
Anderson was immoral, unethical, and...boring. His character did absolutely nothing to enhance the story or make it more interesting.
Towards the last quarter of the book, the story really dragged. I skipped over several passages just to hurry up and get to the end.
The story has a happily ever after, but I didn't care because I never had the chance to find out who Emilie and Ezra were as a couple. The only time you get to read about them as a couple is in the last few pages of the epilogue. As a result, I wasn't emotionally invested in their future together.
This was a pretty ridiculous book, and the only reason for the 'ok' star was because I like Ezra. Emilie though, has to be one of the most infuriating, whiny, mean heroines I'v read in a long time. She complains about Ezra's money ALL THE TIME, but then goes to paint a mural for his rival because he offers her a shed load of money. This is after everyone and his wife has told her the guy is not to be trusted. She even decides it's not her business how he makes his money (through drugs). In the meantime she's blown hot and cold on poor Ezra, lied to him about feeling ill so she doesn't have to go to his home (to have sex with him) and lied to her workplace so she can go and paint the mural. Really she's just not nice. The whole bad guy is a drug smuggling plane builder (or whatever it is he and Ezra do) was also too stupid for words. And finally, did Ezra really think the court would uphold a contract obviously coerced (sign your business over to me or I will kill your gf) that he took it seriously? Did anyone else?! I confess, while I like romances, I don't like too much sex in them, but this isn't in the realms of probability. They meet, have a one night stand, meet again six months later and have a snog outside her apartment. I don't know how realistic that is. Quite frankly she leads him around by the nose. Didn't really like this book, tbh. Ezra was about the only thing in it I liked.

Honestly, Mr. Hudson sounded like it had all the ingredients for a swoon-worthy romance—the kind we all want to get lost in. A sweet, all-in, romantic hero? Yes, please. But sadly, the story just doesn’t deliver.
Ezra is a total softie, pouring his heart out, but she keeps pushing him away for no real reason. And the worst part? There’s zero chemistry. He feels something, sure, but she’s just… not there. Emotionally checked out. It’s hard to root for a love story when only one person seems to be in it.
Also, Ezra lacked that bit of dominant energy we’ve come to expect (and love) in these types of books. He’s sweet, but almost too sweet. No spark, no tension, no “I own this room” vibe. And honestly? That made him pretty forgettable.
Another thing that didn’t help: it’s written in third person. And that just made it harder to really feel the emotions. Everything felt distant, like we were being told about their feelings instead of living them. In a romance, that’s a dealbreaker.
The pacing dragged, I kept skipping pages, and by the end, I was just ready to move on. It had potential, but it fell flat.
Bottom line: Mr. Hudson was boring. Could’ve been something special, but it missed the mark

Mr Hudson is a beautiful story from beginning to end and it was fabulously put together. You could sense the chemistry between the two characters. This was the first book I've read by Mary Jennings and I was blown away. I would highly recommend this book.
This is the worst book I've read in a while. I physically wanted to hit the female MC of this book for being so whiny, hypocrite and stupid. This wasn't A bad book to read, just so long for the author to tell a story. Boring at times, but I finally muddled through it until the end. I realized that she talked throughout this story, she was unsure of her self that's why she had a hard time with her friendship with Ezra. She simply didn't want to give him the time of her day because of what they experienced in London. She found out he was rich and she didn't really like rich people. Hudson owned his own company so she found out that the place she was going to work for was the same man she spent time with when she was in London. Emily was a brat most of the time. Playing Anderson they other guy in the picture. He wanted to smash Ezra business, so he could take over the national and oversee markets. Anderson was the head of the crime family, later introduced to the story. Emily was a artist who wanted to make it big in the art world. Like I said they're so many plots going on in this story it was hard to keep them all straight. Anyways enjoy this story.
I didn’t like this book at all. Despite being a short read, I found myself dragging through it. I did not like the heroine at all. I found that she was so judgmental of people who had money. Her low self esteem when it came to money and success, became annoying very quickly. The hero is a like an obsessive stalker. They had one one sexual encounter and a few dates and he is unwilling to accept “No” for an answer and continually pursuing her. His behavior is too desperate for my taste. She spent more time declining his advances than they actually spent dating. Then the whole abduction scene….the rationale for doing it made absolutely no sense. I especially detested the point of view that the book is written in. On a positive note, the writing is good. The best part of the book was the end. Not only because I finally reached it but it was also romantic.
This book started off with so much potential, fun steamy one night stand followed by the book taking a turn into an office romance. But from day 1 the MMC was head over heels for the FMC and she was just unbothered. She liked him but no more than any other guy. It seemed like she agreed to go out with him out of pity and then shamed him for the money he earned when he was not being anything but generous and kind with his cash. The FMC then pushed him away and thought nothing of it really, went about her life and just kept saying he will find someone else and it’s no big deal. At almost the very end of the book the FMC literally prayed that god could turn back time so she could never meet the MMC…then a few pages later she agrees to literally only one date…then bam epilogue and happily ever after? This was such an annoying read because I kept reading hoping the spark from the beginning of the book would return and it never did

Emilie and Ezra travel a rocky road beginning with a chance meeting in London and passionate night together.
When they cross paths 6 months later, Ezra seems as intent on wooing Emilie as she seems to be finding reasons they shouldn’t be together.
But all is not smooth sailing in Ezra’s world and the suspense in tribute in the story make for an enjoyable page turner not only for Ezra’s romantic gestures.
I like the book and characters. The interwoven story elements were good. The dialogue was smooth. I found other parts of the narrative to be a little stiff, however. Where the romance was smooth, the moving the other parts of the story forward lacked the same finesse. It wouldn’t stop me from enjoying this story again.
Ezra Hudson and Emilie ... travel a rocky road beginning with a chance meeting in London at her besties wedding and his old buddy from college .....the characters have a passionate night together.... yet it ends and the next we readers know they are meeting 6 months later, ..... Ezra seems intent on wooing Emilie ... and all she is wanting.... it seems is to find reasons they shouldn’t be together.... She is not really a smart gal, but I liked how Ezra saves her with the help of her Ex boyfriend who dumped her when she went to the wedding...
But all is not smooth sailing in Ezra’s world and the suspense tribute in the story make for an enjoyable page turner, not only for Ezra’s romantic gestures. ... but also for Emilie's Naie've personna
I like the story line.... the interwoven elements were good. The dialogue was smooth. Ezra has the romance part down smooth, the other parts of the story lacked something at times ... I still somehow enjoyed the book ... :)
Not gonna lie I went in really wanting to like this but Emilie ruined it. How can she have such an amazingly sweet man trying to do anything he can for her and be super understanding and instead of letting him love her she sabotages everything. She was a coward and didn’t deserve Ezra at all. She made the choice to work with Anderson but blames Ezra when it all went to he11. The story itself went from 0-100 which was odd but Emilie just got on my nerves. The spice was maybe 1 out of 5 and yes the author tried to give them an HEA but the damage was done. While praying she prayed she never met him while he was doing everything to rescue her from her choices. Lame I will not be reading the rest in this series.
This book just wasn't for me. Mary Jennings is a new to me author, but I won't be continuing with her work. 3rd person writing is not my preferred style. It was hard to connect with the characters and after the initial meeting in London I pretty much lost interest. There was a lot of skimming, hoping for something better. Ezra seemed too "smitten" over Emilie and she seemed to be finding reasons they shouldn’t be together. She didn't want a relationship with him, and that point was driven home in the hospital. His persuasion eventually talked her into it, but I did not feel like there was a deep connection. He was too romantic, too mushy, for me to like him. Better luck next time.
Love reading new Authors. When attending the friends wedding in London, being stood up by her plus one and getting drunk on vodka. Emilie DeGaule thought the universe was against her until a stranger sat beside her. One night passion and waking up alone the next morning she knew she will always have London and Ezra. Ezra Hudson never forgot about London and when that one person he still thought about happens to start working at his company six months later he knew he had a second chance. Will his enemies take this infatuation he has for Emilie to gain what they need from him. I lived this story and hope you all do to.
I mentioned this previously, but I'm going to go on a billionaire or employee/boss book hiatus for a bit. I may finish out one author, but that's it. The stories are all blending into one another because none of them are original. This one certainly wasn't. It was an okay read but nothing to write home about. Same tropes. Same types of characters. I am going to wait on the next few of this series to clear my head so that the genre is a bit more fresh in my mind. I feel like I'll be able to give better reviews and give this author a better shot. I still hold with my rating here, but I do think a break is necessary going into the future.
A millionaire, instalove, missed connection romance with an office romance twist. I enjoyed the storyline and the dramatic ending. It was an engaging story with mild spice. It was relatively fast-paced and a cute read.
I listened to the audiobook, which did dual narration for the dual POVs. Most of the book is in the FMC’s POV, but there are some MMC chapters. While I enjoyed the narration for the most part, I was not a fan of the male narrator’s attempts at female voices. In the MMC POV chapters, whenever a woman spoke, especially the FMC, the voice the narrator used sounded weird. The male voices from the female narrator were better.
This is the story of Emilie and Ezra - The employee and The Billionaire Boss
I enioyed this story but I did think it could be better. There seemed to be a lot of whys and what ifs that this story left. They meet a weddinc where she has been stood up so decide to have a one niaht stand then she wakes up alone. They both had the most amazing night but don't meet up for ages when she becomes his employee
So why didn't he leave his number?, Why didn't thev ask the Bride or Groom for the others number? Etc. Also the sex scenes are ok but nothing spicy or steamy in my opinion which is maybe why I didn't reac any of the others in the collection

Ezra and Emilie meet in a London bar and have a one night stand…something out of the norm for both of them. Months later, she takes a job and he’s the CEO. She’s been on his mind for the past 6 months and in all honesty, she’s thought of him, too. Ezra pursues her, she goes on a few dates with him, but a business rival with nefarious plans is looming. I liked that this story had the male lead showing how he felt over and over, while the female resisted. It was a cute story.
I almost didn’t finish this book. At 45% I was ready to throw in the towel it was slow and sluggish. Emily was a flake and Ezra was head over heels in love with her and she didn’t know if she wanted to see him, ditch him or quit her job! I then started and read another book 😱. At that point I decided to bite the bullet and finish the book. Sorry but I would not recommend this one. Way to slow and lost my interest early. I do hate to not finish anything I start and that’s the only reason I finished. Pick up the pace and try a heroine that isn’t wishy washy.
Okay, so I really enjoyed the writing style and basic storyline. Absolutely loved Ezra (H). He was such a lovable sweetheart that any girl would be lucky to have. But I dinged it a star for the h, Emilie. I could not stand her. She was so wishy washy and never seemed as invested as Ezra. Her reasons for pulling away just didn't work for me. For all her complaints about the wealthy, she seemed just as shallow. I dinged it a half star for the villain. He started out great but then turned into an idiot.
I hated this book so much. I like is for less than a second. I kind of liked the first chapter or two and after that it went completely downhill. I wanted to like it at least a little but I can’t. It sucked so much. The fbi part absolutely awful. Everything was cliche and just bad. I wanted to dnf so bad. There was nothing that I liked after completely reading the book. I would not recommend this book to anyone and wish I never read it. One of the worst books I’ve read in months. 1/5
I feel like this is a book for soft romance readers who want a little taste of the bad boy life with a touch or crime. Because for me this was like oh my word what a soft drug dealer guy like I wasn't scared or impressed at all but it's different for everyone. I also personally don't like it when they like each other from the beginning but I mean it's all just my opinion if I didn't already have a bias to darker books I think this would be a great read. It's a lot of groveling and I mean billionaire boyfriend what could go wrong.
