Enemies aren’t supposed to fall in love—even if they’re fated mates... right?
Dimitri is a Black Caste Dragon and the head enforcer to his circle. He’s always longed for a mate but settled for physical intimacy instead. When he discovers that his fated mate is also the man who saved the enemy of Dragons, Dimitri is devastated and sees his chance at love slipping away forever.
How can he bond with his enemy?
Gavin, son of the Fae King and a witch of the Ancient Times, is a powerful mage not to be trifled with. He longs for a peaceful life but has a duty to protect Harper, a powerful—and crazy—witch. Gavin will have to make a heartbreaking decision... Stay faithful to his duty to the witch... or bond with his mate.
Can these two unlikely mates find love together? Will their pasts and secrets become too much and drive them apart? What consequences will arise from forging a forbidden bond?
You wouldn’t know it to look at him, but C.K. has a love for soul mates, true love, and happily ever after. Of course, he can’t let his characters get their happy ending too easily; they have to suffer first. He’s inspired by day-to-day life and loves transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary in his stories.
Life away from the computer is just as vibrant for C.K. He calls a quaint Florida town home, a stone's throw from the place he grew up. When not weaving tales or reading his favorite authors, you can find him by the pool, not the beach (because, let's face it, sharks are scarier than any paranormal creature he writes about).
He shares his life with a large, lively family and two cats who switch from cuddling to clawing in the blink of an eye. In C.K.'s world, the ordinary meets the extraordinary - both on and off the pages.
I have enjoyed all of the High Garden Dragons books, but (unbeknownst to me) THIS is the one for which I have been waiting. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook, and this is my honest review. Book 7, The Mage's Dragon Enforcer, gives readers the answers to most of the questions that have been circling since Book 1. We finally meet the mysterious man/mage who has been helping everyone, including the villain. Plus, we get to watch Gavin (the mage) and Dimitri (the dragon) build their sweet and spicy HEA, as we find out the who and the whys.
C.K. Noel's writing in Book 7 is just as multi-layered as I've come to expect, and I love how he pulls all of the previous stories together into this book. I would also like to note that not only did C.K. Noel address most of the unanswered questions, but he also managed to include a lot of new world building and character development. This effectually adds new avenues for additional branch-off series, which is very exciting.
As I have stated in all of my previous reviews for C.K. Noel audiobooks, Aaron Ross was a fantastic choice to bring these characters to life-- and this is especially true in Book 7. Considering the number of characters that were involved in this story, Aaron Ross transitioned seamlessly among the many characters/voices. I was never confused as to who was speaking, and every voice that Aaron Ross created was distinct and likeable. This author/narrator combination continues to be one of my favorites.
Bond with your forbidden mate, save humans and paranormal, revelations of parents, and a pregnancy - just to name a few.
Dragon enforcer Dimitri's story began to unfold form the moment they rescued one of his fellow dragons form the clutches of a witch named, Harper. That was also the first time we saw a glimpse of his mate, Gavin. Now they finally have their story and it's filled with shock and awe. Dimitri's parentage was a surprise, but so was Gavin's. Mage and dragon pairings were forbidden, given they were sworn enemies. Once Dimitri and Gavin learned of their fate, each thought the only plausible outcomes were to mate and leave or deny their true loves. Harper has been a danger to dragons for some time. Determined to get her clutches on the power of High Garden. We also learned a lot about Harper's backstory. Gavin's father found his fated mated and that left Harper alone. Her thirst for revenge only manifested.
I can't wait to see what happens with Fae brothers, Zin and Zander. Zin was absolutely hilarious and has zero boundaries.
**I received this ARC via Gay Romance Reviews for my honest feedback.**
Such a great series, but I recommend starting on book one and working your way through them as the story continues with each book/audio.
Dimitri, a Black Dragon, meets his fated Gavin, but a problem delays their meeting. It also sees Dimitri walking away from his clan.
This is a great story, full of ups and downs. Delayed mating, Great reading, keeping you riveted throughout the book. Highly recommend.
I can't wait for book 8 to come out on audible.
Good narration from Aaron Ross, but I did speed up on Audible, which is usual for me, but clear and concise. I will be looking for the next book in the series. I absolutely love the Scottish brogue.

Dimitri is a Black Caste Dragon and the head enforcer for his circle. He has always wanted a mate but when he discovers his mate is helping the witch who is an enemy to the dragons, he is devastated. He knows he cannot mate with someone who helps that witch. Gavin is the son of the Fae king and a very powerful witch. He has a duty to protect Harper but also a duty to his mate. Both men are torn and need to make a decision.
Dimitri and Gavin had a tough go in their mating. As the son of the mortal enemy of the dragons, Gavin is torn between the two, while Dimitri is forbidden from mating with him. Their story as they resolved their differences made for fantastic reading. Saving dragons and the world while trying to fall in love is not the easiest thing to do, but somehow, they manage. The addition of Gavin’s friends enriched the story and we find the King Krispin still has a few surprises from his past. I know I am not alone in hoping this is not the last book in this series.
The story of the mating between our Elf Mage, Gavon and our dragon enforcer Dimitri is fantastic. We are faced with the ongoing struggle between dragons and the witch, Harper. Gavon is her son, but is a really good guy and he treasures the hope of a mating with Dimitri. I loved Gavon's friends and that his father was old friends with our Dragon king, Krispin Adair. We have epic action and amazing allies developing supporting the ongoing story arch that is yet to be totally resolved.
This is a really good short story. There is lots of action with elves, fae, vampires, witches, mages, dragons and more. The supporting characters are terrific.
This is book seven of the High Garden Dragons series and I am looking forward to reading the next book. I was gifted this book from Gay Romance Reviews and i freely give my honest opinion and review.
I have listened to the series from the beginning and I have become a fan of this series. Dimitri, a Black Dragon, meets his fated mate. But he brings problems with him, although the two have not yet really met. Then Dimitri's king also forbids mating with his mate. Dimitiri sees red. Another great story with interesting protagonists. I really liked both Dimitri and Gavin. The story is entertaining and kept me riveted, so I listened to the audiobook in one piece.
Aaron Ross I think is getting better and better and I enjoyed listening to him. He narrated the story with emotion, as well as highs and lows. I'm looking forward to the next volume as an audiobook!
When your fated mate is also your sworn enemy (an audio review)
We met Gavin previously in this series when he saved Harper – the powerful witch determined to steal power from the dragons. Gavin did what he thought was best, but it put him on a collision course with the man the fates decided was to be his mate. A dragon, no less.
Dmitri was stunned to discover his fated was the savior of the vile witch. He doesn’t want to go against his king, but his heart is telling him to accept his fate, claim the mage, and deal with the fallout after they’ve bonded.
This was an enjoyable addition to the series and I enjoyed the conflict – both internal and external – within the story. As always, Aaron Ross gave a wonderful performance and I can’t wait for the next one.
The Mage’s Dragon Enforcer is the seventh book in this series, and although it follows the story of the previous book it centers on a new couple and concludes the witch Harper story arc. The book follows the story of Elf and Mage, Gavon, and Dragon Dimitri. The book is filled with supernatural creatures, mpreg, great world-building, and good secondary characters as well. The book is short, but an overall good read with some steamy scenes. This book has more magic than the previous books in the series and has a great Dragon battle. The book is well written and I couldn't put it down. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review
Dragon Dimitri is fated to a Mage!! Poor Dimitri he is forbidden from mating with Gavin the Mage and his is so distraught he runs away. Gavin of course finds him, and they cannot resist their own steamy mating! Love that all the dragons are still are a part of each story and in this one we get to meet some Fae! I could not stop smiling at the Imp Zin's perving antics!! I am going to need the story of when he meets his mate! I cannot believe this is the last book in the series for now! I received an ARC and if you love easy to read fun paranormal stories with a great cast of characters from Dragons to Vampires, to Wolves to Fae.. give these a read!
This was my favorite of the whole series!! Vampires, dragons, witches, fae, sooo freakin good!! Dimitri is a dragon and Gavin is the son of a Fae King. Two very unlikely mates who shouldn’t fit but do!! I loved Gavin’s fae friends, so funny!! We also get the epic show down with the evil witch who has been terrorizing the Dragons throughout the whole series. Overall, a fantastic! The story was really well written and kept me engaged, the pacing flowed smoothly, highly recommend. I am voluntarily leaving a review form an advanced copy that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
Yeah... no. I am sorry, but I did not like it. Firstly, the whole first chapter. Just..no. Then the plot got complicated, the characters were all over the place, new species were introduced muddling the already big genetics pool, lords and masters, not to mention book crossovers. Not the best idea. Then the big culmination was rather small and underwhelming. I had high hopes for this one for some forbidden love, enemies to lovers and stuff in that spirit, but it was mostly drama queens all over the place. It totally let me down.
**I was provided an ARC of this book from the GRR for an honest review**
WOW!...this started off extremely HOT...I wasn't ready to encounter all that steam from the jump but it was explained later and throughout how fae creatures were very amorous and down for whateva wheneva...It was good I read/listen to other stories in this series because Gavin and Dimitri mating was known prior and this was them coming to terms and eventually coming together. A lot of past characters and new blend in to make this all entertaining. Finding one's mate is a big deal and I can't wait to listen to more in the series. The narrator did a good job with the voices and I enjoyed him as well.
The Mage's Dragon Enforcer is the 7th book in the High Garden Dragons series. This book brings us Dimitri a dragon enforcer and Gavin a fae prince mage's story. Gavin and Dimitri have so much to work through but it definitely keeps you involved in the story. I love all Gavin's friends because they bring humor to an intense story. I really will hate to see the end of this series. C. K. Noel is an amazing author and I look forward to the next book in the series. If you get the audio narration, Aaron Ross does a wonderful job of narrating this series. He makes the change in characters seamlessly. I can't wait to listen to the next book. I would definitely recommend this book and series.
I liked this book overall, but I felt like the ending was too rushed. It was this epic battle between longtime enemies, that had been a major focus throughout the other books in the series. Then it was wrapped up in the last 15% of the book. It felt a little anticlimactic actually. The love story between Dimitri and Gavin was good, the horny imps were a little creepy even though everyone seemed to think they were funny, and Gavin’s relationship with his friends was nice and pretty hot actually. Just wish there had been more of an ending that fit the buildup throughout the series.
Not my favorite of the series, but still very good. So glad to learn the mage’s backstory. But, I’m sorry, so annoyed that the Fae are just “more sexual beings”. Zin absolutely drove me nuts and I do not want a story about him or his brother. This is a very sexual series anyways, it didn’t need the over-the-top Fae BS. I have felt like he’s gone overboard like this in other books; when it’s fated mates, that’s the conquests I want to hear and focus on. I know they live so long but the rampantness of super sluttiness sometimes is just not very enjoyable.
Now we get the story of Gavin and his connection to Harper. His pairing with Dimitri was well done and of course, the perfect fated mate. Another good performance from this narrator. I wish the books in this series were longer. The novella lengths tend to skip details or make situations feel rushed. I think they would definitely benefit from being longer and more detailed. Overall an enjoyable read. I plan to continue the series and catch up on the backlist.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy provided by GayRomanceReviews.
I absolutley LOVE IT!!!!! Demitri and Gavin are perfect for each other. I loved reading this entire series and learning so much about the dragons and other supernaturals. I could feel every single emotion along with the character and I loved all the character. This was the perfect combination of humour, action, suspence and romance. I could not stop reading. It was also very HOT & STEAMY. This was an amazing series and I am sure evryone will love it. C. K. Noel well done on an amazing series.
I enjoyed this fated mates story a great deal. Dimitri and Gavin aren't personal enemies, but Gavin is protecting the witch Dimitri is sworn to kill to protect the dragons. When they turn out to be fated mates, they have to stand together against both their groups to be together. There are some nicely done supportive secondary characters and some of the major evil in the series is vanquished which is satisfying.
I loved Dimitri and Gavin. I thought the last story was my favorite, but nope, this one is definitely my favorite. There was a lot more action and I liked how everyone came together to help with Harper. I felt like this one gave more backstory of certain peoples lives. My only complaint is the price the author is charging for these short books. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to continue this series at those prices, but I enjoyed the ride this far.
This book was so compelling and the characterization was outstanding. I loved Gavin and Dimitri along with Gavin's fae friends (they were hilarious). I was so happy to see that this book was finally released. I have been looking forward to it. The ending was satisfying and this series is awesome. I truly hope that there will be much more. Definitely love this. :)
Yay!! Finally glad to see Dimitri get his mystery mage!! I felt sad for Gavin that Harper was his mom but after hearing her backstory a bit more, I really felt sorry for her too. I know it doesn’t fully excuse all that she has done but what a heartbreak!! I loved that Gavin was part Fae and his friends were hilarious! I am loving this world.
MM, Paranormal, Mpreg, Shifters, Suspense, Romance. An easy to read page-turner with great characters and plenty of angst, heat, action and drama throughout the story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading their story. Not a stand-alone read as all the books in the series are closely linked and will not make as much sense if read individually or out of series order. Guaranteed HEA
He has been looking for his mate but he is about to find it difficult to decide what to do when he meets them. They are his enemy and things are going to get more complicated between them. Will the lines blur between them? Can they become mates? What about their own lives? Can it all slot into place? See just how they will get on
We finally get the showdown with Harper!!! I do feel like the relationships have gotten a little repetitive in this series, so I liked that Dimitri and Gavin had some additional obstacles. I liked seeing all of the beasties work together in this story. I wish we would have gotten some more history on Dimitri's parents.
We finally get to meet the mysterious mage! Poor Dimitri has been suffering long enough over his identity and it was good to finally get Gavin’s story. I enjoyed this installment and am glad to see that part of the plot resolved. Harper caused enough damage! Now our extended family of dragons can maybe find some peace.
Another great add to the series. Dimitri and Gavin have been my favorite couple since we met them. With Gavin tied to their enemy I was dying to know more. With Gavin comes new exciting friends and old enemies they need to fight to survive. This is my favorite for sure. Can't wait for the next.
Good lord Gavin & Dimitri are sexy as all get out! This book was the most painful for me reading what they both were going through. But C.K never fails to give happy endings and boy did he! We met so many more characters in this book and I can’t wait to more about them all! 😀😀❤️❤️
