Stepan Zavrel ist ein Tscheche, der in Italien lebt. Mit diesem Buch möchte er die Kinder mit Venedig vertraut machen und sie auf die Gefahr hinweisen, welche die Stadt bedroht. Er hofft, dass sie später, als Erwachsene, an Venedig denken werden - und etwas tun, um die Stadt zu retten.

About the author

Štěpán Zavřel was born in Prague in 1932, yet he lived in Rugolo di Sàrmede from 1968 until the day he passed away in February 1999.

He was one of the most important and representative illustrators of the European arena in the last thirty years.
A versatile artist with an extraordinary inventive skill, architecture, decoration, scenography and creating frescoes which even today still adorn the streets of Sàrmede. He co-conceived the idea for the Le immagini della fantasia Exhibition and founded the International School of Illustration; Štěpán Zavřel dedicated his whole life to art and illustration leaving behind him a wealth of creativity which even today continues to generate new ideas and projects.

Příběh poměrně nuda. Ilustrace super a obešla bych se i bez doprovodného textu, který měl stejně dost podivně nesmyslný děj a kazil atmosféru ilustrací. Jinak to mohlo být krásně surrealistické.

Venezia e il suo futuro sott'acqua raccontata spiegata a un bambino, con la speranza che i bambini sappiano evitare in futuro quello di cui ci disinteressiamo noi nel presente. Le immagini sono molto poetiche.

The illustration is imaginative and beautiful :)

The story tells about a boy painted a picture of Venice in school, the mermaid in his picture came to him at night and showed him Venice under water.

It will be a pity if someday Venice is no longer existing due to rising sea level.
