Ok so I wouldn’t know this was a first book by Skye Black. It was well written and she knows just what to do to grab your attention. Chance Encounter was a novella chock full of steam upon steam. I want to say it’s the perfect lunchtime quickie read, but this spicy baby may have you wanting to take matters into your own hands so it may be safer to read at home. You get totally immersed into Chandler and Xavier’s story. The exploration into new and exciting sexual activity for Chandler had the kindle pages lit like an inferno. I was like a kid in a kinky candy store and loved every minute! I had no idea this baby was ending on a cliff but I’m excited to know there’s more Chandler and Xavier to come.

This book is FILTHY. It is literally 95% smut and I loved it. The ending leaves you wanting more and I can't wait to jump into the next book of the Vacation Series. If you're looking for a quick, super spicy book, look no further.

I chose this book for the TBR Takeover literally with a roll of the dice. I did this so that I could potentially step outside of my comfort zone, as I tend to be very much a creature of habit. I did not look at the cover, the description… nothing. I went into the first page with zero idea of what to expect.
The first sentence in the first chapter absolutely sets the tone for the entirety of this book. It is extremely *spice* driven.
Positive notes first:
The author can craft sentences well. I did not get kicked out of the story due to incorrect word usage, punctuation errors, or things like that. She paints a good picture with her words.
Some of the negative notes come due to my lack of knowledge before opening the title.
By the time I made it three chapters in, I had very strong PWP vibes. Each subsequent chapter just served to reinforce those thoughts. That’s not usually my chosen reading, but this is only 100 pages, so I opted to see it through to the end. A few sentences crept up in a couple of places that hinted toward a tiny inconsequential plot that could easily be resolved. Again, that thought was a good thing as this is a short read. Approximately 10 pages from the end, it developed a major plot, and I knew immediately that I was going to end up ticked off.
I hate cliffhangers. When I read, I want that couple’s entire story arc inside the one book. I have no desire to read multiple short books to get the story that could have been a single significant novel. So, the fact that I read this was my own fault for letting the dice decide rather than investigating the ‘series’ to see whether we got the entire story in one sitting.
For me, that’s a negative, as is the PWP vibe. However, there is a wide market for things like this, and a lot of people prefer their stories this way.
If you like your stories extremely heavily loaded with *spice*, and if you like cliffhangers that remind you of a television mini-series, then you will absolutely love Chance Encounter, and I encourage you to read it.
If you, like me, want more plot-driven, single-book resolutions, I would recommend skipping this title.

Lots and lots and LOTs of sex. Very mechanical, quite kinky, most of the story is telling not showing and there‘s little to none existent character development.
I can buy into many guilty pleasure fantasies but this smutfest was just repetitive and boring.
I didn't like that (until I DNF-ed the third instalment probably 50% through) the hero's main endearments for the heroine are "fucktoy" and "slut". Now, both can be erotic in the right context but in this case it was just coarse and unrefined.
Also, the heroine goes from being completely vanilla to completely kinky without any inner struggles, monologues and discussions with the dominant. There are quite a few very intensive scenes where no aftercare is given and shown. There's no talk about boundaries, just the exchange of a safeword and everything he does from that moment forward she likes. Giving your characters a few edges and a backbone does a lot for me as a reader to like them more. Just as an aside.
What totally turned me off the series, however, was the ending. He's this super duper security guy which is why it's dangerous for her to be with him. The only solution to this is for her to be dead to her family and friends, so he kidnaps her to his island to present this wonderful idea to her. I had to DNF then because - come on - you've barely exchanged more than grunts, spit and cusswords. The sex might be incredible but THERE IS MORE to a relationship than just mindless boinking. And to give up my family is a decision that should not be coerced with orgasms and pleasure.

~Chance Encounter book 1 of The Vacation Series written by Skye Black. Now fair warning if you’re not into BDSM, Erotic Romance, Dark Steamy Sex then this series isn’t for you! You have been warned!!!! Chandler FMC was excited for her vacation getaway with her friends only that her friends decided to cancel on her at the end. She still went on her much needed vacation and what a great choice!!! During this vacation she runs into Xavier MMC in the pool and let’s just say he blew her mind away! He unlocked desires she never knew she had hidden!!! When her vacation ends she gives him her number knowing he will never call… oh she was wrong… he’s addicted to her… They met every month, he sent her a location to meet and she always went. Chandler never knew what he did for work, and she never asked. He’s a bad boy that even if he tried to stay away from Chandler to keep her safe he couldn’t! They are both addicted to each other. Would all this work between them? Meeting once a month? Would Xavier leaving be the best thing for Chandler? Let’s see what this series brings!!!

Oh my gosh this book was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I literally couldn’t put it down. So Chandler is a gorgeous girl whom just doesn’t want to work . She don’t have many friends. So she was super excited about having a girls weekend until all these girls that she works with backs out so she decides to go on the vacation like a weekend getaway by herself and when she gets there, she realizes this hotel that they were at is absolutely gorgeous and so she decides to go and sit by the pool and while she’s drinking her margarita she sees this hot guy and they’re constantly looking at each other so she decides to go swimming and when he gets in the pool with her, he does some naughty things and from there she is hooked

Skye Black was a random pick up due to an Instagram follower.
While I don't usually read a smutty novel, this story was SPICY and the details left nothing to be desired. This read was quick and I was really interested in what will happen next. What I felt this was missing was the back story, what do they do? How can she love him and have no idea what or who he is? I will keep reading just because I want more story line. I also wish the read was not as short, I love a good story that sucks you in and as soon as I got sucked in, it was over. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a spicy story, but we warned this one is EXTRA spicy.

Okay. There are about six sentences of plot. The remainder of the book is smut. I love smut. Of course. But, the actual story ends in a "cliff hanger." Problematically, there wasn't much of a cliff to hang off of.
I really wish there were more content and less sex (who even says that???)

I feel there could have been more of a plot in the book. I couldn't get over that in the beginning she doesn't even know him for 5 minutes before she lets stuff happen between them. Then she wam bam thank you ma'am with him and didn't know his name. I'm all for one night stands (a lot of people have had them, but this book is occurrence after occurrence) I would like more story line than smex scene to smex scene. I do love Erotica but other Erotica I've read has had more to the story. Plus the book leaves you on a cliffhanger for the second book. Others may love and devour this book, but this was just not my cup of tea.

I feel like this book needed to dive more into the MMC’s job since it was the only interesting part for me. You literally only get a glimpse and little teases but it’s never discussed and we never get to follow him on these “jobs”. This book was all smut and I literally just skimmed for a plot after 60 pages of just smut. Don’t get me wrong I love spice but I need a plot along with it. I saw potential with the Author’s writing I just wished she dived more into their lives without one another when they didn’t see each other and that she would have been more in depth about Xavier’s job and secrets.

Not what I expected
Chandler & Xavier meet on vacation and have a very *Spicy* weekend together.
I was expecting this to be just *spice* but then a plot started to develop.
The first 3/4 of the story is ALL spice but then as we get more of Xavier’s POV a storyline begins to come forward.
It was sooo much spice that I actually started skimming ahead so I could try and figure out what is going on with Xavier 😂
Super quick and sexy read. Excited to see where it’s going.

As a new Author for me I was more than excited with her steamy take of romance story telling. It is more than a 'vanilla' level of romance so eye wide open and you will be rewarded with some very heated scenarios throughout.
Great characters and a well created plot to keep you wanting more from your reading experience with this heated novel. Not sure I can handle more from this series but definitely prepared to try!

This book is so spicy! I needed to stop and drink some water from time to time from all the spice.
I loved Chandler and Xavier. They have chemistry! Holy guacamole the chemistry.
I loved seeing Chandler opening herself up and accepting what she liked and owning it.
If you love chance encounter and Erotic romances with a very hot mysterious Alpha male then this is a book you do not want to pass on. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

i loved this book and the spice level was 10/10. i discovered Skye Black’s books through another author, D.D. Larsen, and tiktok.
i wished there was more to the storyline, such as how she can love a man she really knows nothing about or how she met him once and now travels around the world to see him. this is a short, quick, spicy read and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for their next spicy read.

If you're a lover of spicy then this book is for you!
Its a quick and easy fast pace read. The first sentence of the book really sets the tone for the whole story! I'm hopeful that the next books will bring more plot to the story as we unravel Xavier's job secrets and such, as I was kinda let down that there isn't much of a story happening in this one. It's just sex apon sex, different places every month.

OMG - this book is hot - I couldn't put it down! Xavier and Chandler have a chance encounter - they both want "friends with benefits" without the friends part. They decide no names - no details just the mutually need to be physical with each other. They decide to continue their meets to 1 weekend a month. After a bit, they both need more encounters - they can hardly wait for their time together. This book is hot - he becomes her Dom and it gets even hotter. I can hardly wait for book 2!

Thank goodness there are more books in this series because the ending left me wanting more. This book involves Domination and submission. It has extreme sexual content.

If you’re looking for a book with lots of spice and little to no plot then this novella is for you and there is nothing wrong with that.
I’ve just found that personally, after trying more than one erotica books, that I need more plot and character development.
That aside the book was well written and the spice was great.

I am thoroughly convinced i have issues. I enjoyed every dirty, smutty, kinky, nasty (✊if you know, you know) thing in this book. I usually like short Anna hot reads, but this was 95% smuttttttttt and like maybe 5% plot lol. It was a quick bit fun time.

WOW oh WOW.. 95% SMUT and 5% everything else. what starts as a weekend get away turns into a hot, steamy, smuty ride. This is a quick read but definitely can't wait until the next one. I want to know more about Chandler and Xavier and where this is going!
