Will Harper thinks his latest story’s about Florida’s prison problems. It seems that budget cuts have led to police departments turning to creative schemes to raise money. Grove County’s version involves arresting citizens for minor charges and then driving up their bail when a search of the citizen’s home too conveniently turns up drugs.
But the usual guilty money scheme has been improved upon by a corrupt deputy, Deke Snyder, who’s skimming money from the jail. Once Will finds that out, Deputy Deke sics all his buddies on him–which include every cop in town.

David Crosby

Crosby’s love of reading became a love of imagination and creativity, which he finally found an outlet for in college at the University of Georgia. David received an ABJ degree in magazine writing from the UGA School of Journalism, but it was his newly discovered interest in photography that took over his working life. Starting at graduation, David spent eight years as a photojournalist for newspapers before a desire for self-employment led him to start his award winning commercial photography studio, Crosby Stills.
David retired from photography after a 36-year career and is now writing. He's the author of eleven Will Harper Florida Thrillers, and the non-fiction book, Keeping Us Afloat. He lives in Land O Lakes, Florida, with his wife Marilyn, a retired Lutheran Pastor, and their lovable shih tzu, Zoe.

Crooked cops, polluted lakes, and greed are invitations for investigative reporting and facts can be dangerous.
An idyllic life aboard a luxury cruiser in a comfortable marina off the very pleasant Gulf of Mexico is an outstanding base for a man who is able to chuck the 8-to-5 routine, especially in the slowly fading world of print newspapers. Sometimes started by the friend of a friend, other times through personal experience, following the money and power carries a risk and frequently the penalty of exposing evil is life threatening. Great characters, fun story lines, superb settings and well worth the time.

More great stories by David Crosby
I actually read volumes 4-6 of the Will Harper Thrillers before reading Vol. 1-3. I enjoy Mr. Crosby's style of writing but I really appreciate the way he tackles real issues occurring in Florida. You can tell that he researches the issue and he educates the reader with his writing. I live in Florida and am aware of some of these issues/problems but do not necessarily realize the extent. I highly recommend reading the Will Harper series if you want to learn more about the problems happening in Florida.

Good subjects and believable characters.
Will has a bad habit for taking on a good cause. To have a friend that Will step up when you need help are not easy to come across.

Very good read
I liked the location and characters. It was a fun book. I enjoyed hearing whether live aboard lifestyle. Also I grew up going to Cabbage Cay.
