How refreshing it is to get skin advice on black skin! I’ve learned so much; what works for us and what doesn’t. From cleansing and moisturizing to dealing with hyperpigmentation and all kinds of skin conditions.
I really like that she also recommends products she regularly uses.
I highly recommend to all black people or people with black children and partners.
Black skin is God’s gift to humanity, and primary reason humanity exist. Without melanin, humanity would not have made it out of Africa. WeBlack People should be reminded every time they see black skin, that it is part of the story of humanity, and the Creator wanted our skin to be black. Our skin is part of the Black God Science, since we were created in God’s image. This book provides valuable information about taking care of our gift from the Creator and how skin is a part of our temple and is an incredible organ, so we need to take care of it.
As im getting closer and closer to 40 Im realising I need to start putting some concerted effort into taking care of my health.
I stumbled across this book and realised I have very limited skin health knowledge, inparticular for black skin.
I love the layout, the photography, the history lessons and the friendly down to earth style she's written in. It's not a book jam packed with information (well it is)😅 but it's done in such a way that you feel like you're having a chat with a friend about ways to improve your skin health, with practical tips and reccomendations to take away and implement.
It's not just for women, men can get some takeaways too #beardgang
This was such a well-written and informative book. I'm all about learning more about black skin, especially because there seems to be a knowledge gap. I appreciated the book, but because of my profession, I didn't learn anything new but I know that the average person definitely will. That said, I would have appreciated a more theoretical insight into black skin, but I did appreciate the practical solutions that the author suggested.
I thought this book was very informative. It explains everything you need to know about the skin, skin concerns, ingredients, and treatments. It is tailored towards black people, although anyone could get something out of the information in this book.
I truly enjoyed the knowledge I got from this book and will be using it to elevate my skin!
An amazing guide that allows beginners like me a deeper understanding of skin. This guide is beautifully tapped into the history and cultural context that black skin exist within and has really helped me feel much more confident in creating a routine and looking after my skin.
Although I mostly skimmed through this title, it is very informative and I think it's worth purchasing. I love how simple and clear Dija Ayodele wrote the out the content. This is a fun book that I'd recommend to anyone that wants to learn more about taking care of black skin.
