Beautiful Men Collection #2

Beautiful Disaster

Rate this book
I’m Jett St. John, A-list actor and infamous Hollywood bad boy.
I’m in high demand with the ladies. And I always get what I want.

Until I hit rock bottom. Big, ugly crash and burn.
Now, no director will work with me.
I’m labeled DIFFICULT. Yeah, in all caps.

In order to resurrect my movie-star status, I gotta make changes.
Starting with an image consultant.
It’s BS, I know, but it’s part of a deal I made to turn my life around.

Cassidy is frigid, rigid, and super serious.
Sure, she’s a total babe, but she’s not into me…at all.
There’s no batting of her eyelashes, no flush to her cheeks.
She’s all work and no play.

I call her The Ice Queen…until she starts to melt.
Then, I call her mine.

I received an advanced copy of this book from “hidden gems” in exchange for my honest review.
This is a story of an A List actor, Jett, who goes to rehab and then needs a public image resuscitation. Cassidy is a cell phone sales account manager who also is an image consultant on the side, however does not have any clients. Her story is that after “life changing sex” with then stage actor Jett in New York one weekend, she gives him the best career advice he could ever get. He then never acknowledged her or thanked her or sent clients her away after.
To be clear, her advice was to “move to LA and do movies”.
Now that Jett St. John is out of rehab and ready to erase his “difficult to work with” tag from his resume, he finds Cassidy again. He feels the need to make it up to her and publicly state how much she helped elevate his career from the beginning. And then they start sleeping together after they can no longer fight it.
Nobody tries very hard to fight it.
Cassidy also has to conviently move into his guest room after her one roommate evicts her. She then catches her two roommates in a group sex situation in the living room. *Spoiler alert*, she goes to live at Jett’s and she does not sleep in Jett’s guest room. If you are as confused by the course of this review as I am, then get used to it in the book as well.

The amount of plot devices used and then not well developed was frustrating. The most confusing of all was suddenly Cassidy and Jett are in a fake relationship, but are sleeping together but their feelings are real but they relationship isn’t but they both want it to be? Considering we can literally see all of their thoughts in real time, since the narration tells us exactly what each one is thinking, it still makes no sense.

The character believability was also low. Why would an A list actor out of rehab hire a complete novice for his image makeover. Then relaunch his acting career out of DC? Jett’s apology tour is so long, his stump speech is said at least 3 times before the 50% mark is reached.
If Christian Bale can come back from his public meltdown rant in ‘09 on Terminator and then win an Oscar in ‘10 for The Fighter I think a fictional A list star can do better than hire a bargain “image” consultant he’d also like to sleep with while making the charity circuit in DC. The Jett character definitely has an “Entourage” feel, except there is no entourage, or Ari Gold, to save him.

If I met these characters in real life I would assume they were robots who had Alexa programmed in how to speak, especially if one of them asked me if I’d like to “grab some grub”. Other actual words of dialogue include “Sipped java”
“want some more joe?”
“Chill with a few brewskies”
“I’m looking for a big daddy with a lot of buckaroos”
“Amaze balls”
Describing a character one is attracted to as “Sick hot”
The opening chapter has a female groupie saying to the A list actor “gimme more of that Jett St. John hotness”
All of these phrases are used sincerely by the characters. They sound and speak to each other like Tommy and his friends in “The Room”. I was waiting for the scene with the characters tossing around a football in the alley and referring to it as “toss the old pig skin around”.

At one point Cassidy corrects a man who referred to them as girls, saying “We are woman, not girls” which is correct. However, at this point the author has already mentioned all of the woman’s breasts and referred to them as “titties” many times, making the statement hilarious and incongruent. Are we objectifying these female characters or not?

Chemistry was manufactured, the writing of the “spicy” scenes felt as stilted as the dialogue. Mostly read like directions in porn screenwriting.

I DNF’d at page 201 due to lack of investment in characters and plot seemingly going nowhere.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "BEAUTIFUL DISASTER" Stoni Alexander never disappoints I loved this story from start to finish so full of heartache, mystery, intrigue, angst, secrets, lies, betrayal, hot steamy scenes, Redemption, twist that gave you turning the pages.
Jett St. John A-list actor & Hollywood famous bad boy crashed & burned taken to Awakenings Rehab run by Sebastian wife psychologist not knowing how he got there is drying out his career in the toilet no one wants to work with him.
Jett talks to long time friend Glen Clarke to take him on as an Agent he only agrees if he let's his sister Cassidy who runs Images for Sale to turn his life & hopefully get his career back by changing his image.
Cassidy meets with Jett at first she tells Glen she refuses to take him on having a history with him yrs ago & he ghosted her after saying he'd help her career.
Jett & Cassidy finally do work together to change his image but they both fight past desires for one another plus he has someone trying to sabatoge his sobriety.
I definitely recommend to get this extremely well written phenominal heartwrenching story it had me in tears at the end so much happens you don't want miss getting this book.
You'll fall in love with some of the characters & some not so much the secondary characters were so interesting, entertaining, they pulled you in along with Jett & Cassidy beautifully written story loved loved loved it so GOOOOD!!!!!

Stoni did it again and stole my heart. I was a little worried about reading this book because very few authors can make an addiction story as close to real as possible. But Stoni did a phenomenal job! She even had me crying tears of joy by the end of the book.

Jett is a famous actor who took a spill on set and got hooked onto painkillers. When he wakes up at a rehab facility with no memory on how he got there he was more worried about getting his job back then anything. When a past encounter is his only option to saving himself and his career, he finds himself falling madly in love with her and finding out his true self.

Cassidy is in a job she hates and dreaming of the day when she can do her dream job. When the opportunity arrives for her to do just that, her past makes it hard for her to accept. Being the last option to save the beautiful disaster of an actor, she pushes their past aside and she closes off her heart. But as she is helping Jett to rebuild his image, she finds herself thawing that wall and allowing her true self to come out.

You will be on the edge of your seat the whole time rooting for them. This is such a great book with a great ending! The story isn’t told in the person’s POV, even though I prefer books that way, it was still a really great book! I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving a free copy.

I received this book as an ARC for a honest and voluntary review. This book isn't the high stakes romantic suspense a lot of Stoni Alexander fans are used to, and she said in her news letter she needed a break from those. That's not to say there isn't some intrigue in this book, because there is. Jett St. John had it all as an actor until he took the curvy road of addiction. It started with a back injury and exploded from there, until he hit bottom. Found one night by a friend he's brought to rehab. Of course his reputation has gotten him essentially black balled and he has to work his way back. His agent sends an image consultant his way, Cassidy was sort of stuck at a dead end job dabbling in image consulting but not paying the bills with it. St. John could be her huge break. However, they have a bit of a past, one that he doesn't remember, and she's been burned by addiction before. All of those are reasons that she wants to keep him at arms length, but Jett is having none of that. It's a wild ride back to the top, and speaking of wild, Alexandra Wilde from "The Wilde Touch" makes a few cameo appearances, after all she's an investigative reporter and has a talk show in DC.

I received a free ARC from Hidden Gems for the promise of an honest review.

I have to say that I think this is my favorite book by Stoni Alexander. It held my attention from the beginning to the very end where I didn't not want anything to distract me.

Jett was the "It" man for Hollywood for the last 3 years. He was injured while doing a stunt and this lead to his addiction to pain killers. One night he blacked out at a party and then woke up at Awakenings, a rehab facility. He did a 90 day program and left it determined not to give into his addiction. He also wanted to get back to his acting career. He asked his friend, Glen, to be his new agent. Glen agreed and called in his sister, Cassidy, an image consultant. Jett anf Cassidy had meet before Jett became famous. In fact, Cassidy helped start Jett's career by giving him sound advice. That advice paid off. They also had a weekend fling so Cassidy was reluctant to work with Jett. Circumstances led her to accept Jett's offer. They forged a friendship that grew as their attraction to each other grew. They took it one day at a time.

You will like both Jett and Cassidy. They both realized that something had to change in their individual lives. The start to their journey leads to a happy ending for them both.

From disaster to redemption, beautifully
Beautiful Disaster: Beautiful Men Collection Book 2) by Stoni Alexander is all steamy, contemporary romance at it’s best with beautifully flawed characters that draw the reader in. To say Jett is flawed is an understatement, but he is a lucky man in more ways than he can recognize at the beginning. Cassidy is one of those female that has an inner strength, but hard won. Between the two, there’s history, connection and similar experiences from differing perspectives.
The plot is highly engaging, not only for the subject matter revolving around Jett, but especially for the growing, developing romance and love between Jett and Cassidy as well as Jett’s complete turnaround. There are more than a few moments in this love story that will also pull the heartstrings and may even cause one to shed a tear or two. As far as I’m concerned, Jett is absolutely and unequivocally redeemed!
Overall, Beautiful Disaster is a loving perspective of Jett’s journey of recovery with a positive attitude and emerging redeeming, selfless qualities that allow Cassidy to trust and love again. Beginning to end, this is a great read with a Hollywood Star/power couple worthy HEA ending.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.

Beautiful Disaster is a tale of how addiction can take down the most dedicated person. Jett is a famous A-lister that had an accident on set. He soon handled his stress by taking pain medicine to help him get through the day because it helped him mellow out. His addiction cost him his career, reputation, and accountability. Some angel came to his rescue and dropped him off at a rehabilitation center. Jett gets clean and is ready to conquer the world again, but he has burned too many bridges. So, a former fling, Cassidy acts as his image consultant. Cassidy has worked hard to get where she is, but she could have gotten there sooner if not for Jett. He took her advice and got out of town. Cassidy still is attracted to Jett but wants to help him better his life. She is Jett’s rock, and he is her protector. Together they work well. Their chemistry you feel seeps off the pages. I enjoyed this story because the characters could be anyone. You may be a perfectly healthy person, but then an accident causes you to take drugs that you soon become addicted to. It was eye-opening and showed that everyone struggles from time to time, and your support system will determine if you truly succeed.

A second chance romance for a A-list Hollywood star who destroyed his career with an addiction to pain meds, alcohol and selfish behavior. A friend’s sister reluctantly comes to his rescue as an image consultant. These two had an explosive weekend together in and out of bed three years ago. Cassie isn’t willing to risk her heart again, and only takes the job after being offered a huge fee after finding and unexpectedly available.

This story is a steamy second chance romance that includes some mysteries in the storyline and the efforts of a serious bad boy who needs redemption. The charitable efforts these two plan are heartwarming and such a fantastic choice for paying it forward and giving back.

This was an entertaining read that grabbed my attention in the beginning and kept it until the final word. Initially I was sure the author would never be able to redeem Jett, but her storytelling crafted a believable and heartfelt change in Jett.

I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Beautiful Disaster was a great story to add to the Beautiful Men Collection. There is some drama brewing that is a bit low key - but it hits the points of what the story is all about. I appreciate the build of the story as it flowed pretty well.

Jett and Cassidy have that push and pull vibe going on for them. But you can feel the chemistry in the underline. The story was written well and I enjoyed being introduced to new characters and welcome back a favorite. I do enjoy the Beautiful Men series, and the only reason I would give this a 4 star review is only because I had a little bit of trouble connecting with the characters. But everything else was great! I would recommend this book to my book world friends.

When you're an A-list celebrity you live you life under a microscope. All you mistakes and shortcomings are examined, scrutinized and amplified. Agter hitting bottom the only way is up if you learn from your m8stakes. Jett St. John embodies this. Cassidy Clarkehas her own demons though not the same as Jett's but no less emotional or impactful. Taking Jett on as an image makeover clent is a no-go but like has other plans. Afterall, they do have a history. What do you do when the who you used to be is wanted byno one from your past? Build yourself up, with guidance from a beautiful talented woman who makes you want her every minute of every day. A woman who guards her heart like Fort Knox. Even when you have small triumphs there are those out there who are gleefully awaiting the next missteps. Cassidy and Jett are meant for each other and together their victories are sweeter.

Second Chances

This is a story about hope, love, and second chances. Sometimes, people make life-altering decisions, and their choices can be destructive. Even though change is not easy, with love, and hope, we can all have a second chance at life. Jett nearly destroyed his life, and this is his story. However, he is not the only one involved in the tale. There is Cassidy, his manager. Is she really an ice queen, or is she a lifeline and an anchor in the storm? You would have to make up your mind. Stoni Alexander spins a tale of love, hope, redemption, and second chances. However, there might be a twist or two, waiting in the wind. I enjoyed the story and would recommend it to those who like steamy, contemporary, second-chance romance with a side of wicked.

I loved the story

The plot of BEAUTIFUL DISASTER is original and really kept my interest. Jett St. James was my favorite character perhaps because while flawed, he was the most open and honest about it.

The secondary characters are a mixed bag. Jericho and Kelsey really added to the story in a great way. The roommates and their men were a little harder to make sense out of in terms of the overall story. They certainly added the kind of spice I like in a book.

Cassidy I didn’t like that much. She expected a lot from other people that she wasn’t willing to give herself. She was even rather annoying in how she went back and forth in her business/romantic relationship with Jett.

I always enjoy Stoni Alexander’s writing and BEAUTIFUL DISASTER was a good book.

An exciting and emotional read
Addiction, secrets, lies, redemption, betrayal, and heartbreak are all a part of Jett St. John’s life. His movie career had fallen apart due to his addiction; however, he had gotten into rehab and was slowly finding his footing again. His agent is Cassidy Clarke’s brother, and he in turn asks her to try to do damage control when Jett gets out. As you might expect there are lots of ups and downs in both their professional and personal life especially since there is someone trying to sabotage his sobriety.
As always the wonderful characters and story are brought to life by Ms. Alexander in this highly charged story.

Jett, A-list actor has fallen so far from the star that he was and he needed a LOT of help climbing out of the hole he dug for himself. He can't believe that he let himself get like he did. It caught up with him. Did he see what he did to himself?

Jett has to a lot to go through to get to where he wants to be. If he makes it, it'll be because of Cassidy. Cassidy has been there for him when he needed her. Will she be able to do this for him without catching feelings for him?

What if he/she wants more? What will happen then?

I liked the twists and turns and the who done it vibe to this book.

Excellent romance against the backdrop of difficult rehabilitation
I liked that this story was full of twists and turns, with a complex character of Jett, tempted at every turn of his work by drugs, women. Nothing is predictable because he's still a prey for its money.
I loved his egotistical, selfish character which is also remarkably elaborate: most of the time he is unbearable at the beginning of the story, and the rehabilitation of his image and credibility is all the more exciting. The support provided by the character of Cassidy, sometimes just as tortured as him, completes him perfectly.
I had a great time reading it

Jett is a bad boy and he has sunk to rock bottom. He needs help getting back to where he was and the one person who could help him, doesn't want to help him! Cassidy was burned by him years ago and doesn't want to do her brother this favor. But if things work out, then this could change her dead end career as well. I enjoyed the banter and the heat between this couple. While Cassidy had no intentions of jumping in Jett's bed, the chemistry between them was palpable. I enjoy a good second chance romance and I was here for this book! This was a fun, sweet and entertaining read.

Jett St. John hottest actor around but also a drug addict that nobody wants to work with anymore. Cassidy’s brother is Jett’s agent so when it time to get his career back Cassidy is the one to make it happen. But Cassidy and Jett have a bit of history. She doesn’t take anyone’s crap and that includes Jett’s. He’s out of rehab and it is time to change up his life. Cassidy and friends believe in him but does he believe in himself.? Someone is out to sabotage his sobriety. There are some deep moments between Cassidy and Jett. Hot ones too! I loved the book, it’s a must read!

Not a disaster!
Actor Jett St. John has definitely hit rock bottom with booze & drugs. He's become impossible to work with and is fired from his TV series.
After a successful stint in rehab, he is back and ready to resurrect his career. To do that he needs Cassidy Clarke, image consultant extraordinaire. Very reluctant to take the job, she's having a hard time reigning in the arrogant actor's huge personality.
Cassidy works her magic and is very successful at it and it was a great story!!
Really liked it!

Heartwarming

Jett is a Hollywood bad boy at rock bottom, Cassidy is the fixer who actually gave Jett his start and was left behind when he was blinded by the stardom and fame. With the help of Cassidy and a few well meaning friends can Jett redeem himself? And will Cassidy give Jett a second chance or is he destined to leave her behind yet again? I absolutely LOVED Jett and Cassidy's story. it was heartwarming and HOT as hell.

He needs to correct his image, she dreams to get her business off the ground. They shared one weekend, but she must protect her heart. Will he be able to turn himself around? Will she let the walls fall from around her heart?

Have to say, this story definitely took me for a spin. I loved watching him slowly change and become a better man. I didn't blame her for one moment for wanting to protect her heart, but absolutely loved seeing her walls come down and accept love again. Good read!

Jett needs a second chance. He hates himself for falling so hard but he knows he needs to turn it around. Enter someone who used to know, but can't fully remember. It takes everything in Cassidy to take on Jett but it's best for the long term. Little does she know the wild ride she's about to go on while turning his image around. And the last thing she thinks is that real feelings will come into play.

Immensely satisfying

All I can say is can you Stoni write quicker. I have read all your books now and am going into withdrawal. The story lines are brilliant your imagination is phenomenal and so refreshing. I've fallen in love with your characters. Each story goes on different directions, there is something for ever type of reader. Got to go get some rest now as I've been burning the candle at both ends not wanting to put your books down. Well done

This is the second book in the Beautiful Men Collection but can be read as a stand alone.
