I hired a fake Dom to keep my playmates from getting attached and wanting to collar me. Now the three of them are bro-ing it up and I want a permanent spot on their team. The artist
The gamer
The craftsman
Not the kinda men a computer geek like me would normally go for. My company is on track to becoming the number one Systems Administration firm in the city and the men I meet and play with at the city's premiere BDSM club help me unwind after spending a day steeped in data and code. The Artist knows just how to get my circuits going after a day bent over the keyboard. However, when it becomes clear he's looking for a permanent arrangement— something an independent business woman like me can't possibly juggle—I enlist the help of my mild-mannered friend, the Gamer, to be my fake Dom. If I belong to him, I can’t commit to another.
After a bit of bumbling, my Clark Kent of a friend turns into Super Dom overnight, stepping into the game I've created and handling my controller with excellent precision. But when a blast from my past shows up—a Craftsman of pleasure toys who knows me too well and is the very reason I’m running from commitment in the first place—my lies might be exposed and the game I desperately want to keep playing might be over. Telling these three men the truth might set me free, only now my freedom is the last thing that I want. While my guard has been down, a sinister evil has crept into my business. If I can't delete the evil, it may cost one of the men I'm falling for everything, and leave me with nothing.
If you love steamy romance that packs heat as well as heart, then you'll love the Her Masters series where a woman who thinks she knows what she wants will meet three men who give her exactly what she needs.
The story is told from the POV of Josie, who is a computer geek who loves the sensation of superb impact play but runs away at the thought of any long-term commitment.
As the blurb says, she winds up setting up a friend as a "fake Dom" so she can continue to be flogged by a master flogger while avoiding any commitment. And then her former Dom re-enters the picture...
OK, So...
I loved Josie's internal monolog. She views herself internally as a bit of a computer and uses the jargon to map her though processes -- "this program crashed", etc. Basically, the author has a created Josie as more than a bit of an autist. Which is great.
A lot of the explanation of hacking and network defense was incoherent -- but I am in the industry, so I rather cope with such.
The final challenge, which is meant to show Josie that she should rely on friends (which is a fine message) did not make a lot of sense because her friends would not be able to help where they were helping. The scene was rather baffling.
This story is the second in the series and can be read on it's own. I have read book 1 as well.
Josie loves the feeling of submitting but fears loosing control completely. She gave it away once and lost herself. She is NOT going there again. She is rebuilding her dream one step at a time after loosing it all.
She finally allows two men into her circle. Frank gets her computer nerd humor and Master Cornelius has her willingly give up control for a limited amount of time. The complexity of the story exploded as connections between the male characters are explained.
Josie has to learn she can lean on others. They are going to help her see that she can.
A interesting reverse harem romance. I expect to read this one again.
Wow really wow The men in this book the love they give her Lets list all the things out : 1- the love her and cherish her🥰 2-they are devoted to please her 🫦 3-the respect of boundaries ⭐️ 4- duke the protective man u are 🥹 5-the help they provide 6-the HOTNESS that radiates from each one pf them like DAMN 7- of course how they respect her autonomy

The book is so well written and the ideas and how not toxic it is and how to understand boundaries and pleasures Chef kiss 💋
I love all the naughty computer puns. I also adore how fierce the women in this series are. Most kinky romances they believe the sub is weak, but in real life most subs are actually incharge is most of their lives and want a place to relax. Ines does a great job of writing that into her stories, and doesn't lose the growly alpha, the cocky Dom and the quiet support! Plus soo hot!! Must read!
This one was hard to finish. The main character was so wishy, washy. I still don't know if she really likes those she is with. The development felt rushed, and I didn't like this as much as I liked the first book. I did like the quirky use of computer language and the appearance of previous characters.
Masters of Sensation by Ines Johnson – Now that I have read two books in this series, I realllllly think these are too short! I want more time with these characters! If you are looking for the perfect afternoon snack, pick up this book (or this whole series)! Happy Reading!
For me the drawback to this was the amount of computer lingo used. I get she's a programmer but for those of us who aren't it made whole chunks rather puzzling and/or boring to read. I did enjoy Frank, Master Cornelius and Duke in their own ways
It would have been perfect with Frank and Master C. Throw in steamroller, manipulator Duke and the taste left in my mouth is quite sour. First you get pounded with the theme that J needs to learn to ask for help and then we promptly ignore all Duke problems and see no correction in his behaviour. Him not physically restraining her or not crushing her to the bed is not enough. First book was so good and had so high hopes for this one. Meh!
