Colorful pictures and simple rhyming texts help children guess what's peeking through the die-cut windows in these two fun board books. The anticipation of what's hiding on the next page and th bright, engaging illustrations will keep youngsters guessing and giggling all the way to the suprise endings.
oh the joys and disappointments of using overdrive. I didn't realize this was a board book until we started reading it. gpdl doesn't have detailed records so I thought it was a rocketship picture book. my bad. charlie still liked it but we'll turn it in early and get something else.
A very simple book for toddlers. There is no plot, just a few rhyming words and a circle drawn at the center of almost each page, forming different objects.
This hand-sized board book features holes through which we guess the next page's illustration and action, all of which rhyme! It's a game in a book. I invited the story time crowd to say "Ready, Set" and then turned the page to "Go!" and then to "Throw!" (we all made a throwing action), and then to "Blow!" (we all made a blowing bubbles action), and then to "Row!" (we rowed while singing "Row, row, row your boat"), and then to "Snow!" (we wiggled our fingers like snow falling and then pretended to roll snow into balls and build a snowman and then sang and did the actions to the song "once there was a snowman", and finally to "Grow!" where a flower grows by moving a tab.
This one doesn't hit the 5-point mark because the last page broke way too easily. Still love this author! She knows how to make the most of a board book.
