As she looked around her living room - at the green velvet ottoman she didn't remember purchasing, the 14th century Wizarding texts on her bookshelf, the hideous and obnoxiously ostentatious grandfather clock that could only belong to a Malfoy - she pictured the toothbrush next to hers on her bathroom counter, the old Slytherin quidditch jersey she regularly tripped over in her bedroom, and the mint chocolate chip ice cream in her freezer - a flavour she abhorred, but that a particular, pale, pointy faced aristocrat sat across from her had a tragic fondness for.
Her chest burning, as if she drank a barrel of bubotuber pus, Hermione turned to him with narrowed, accusing eyes. "Malfoy...are we dating?"
This fic was so good. Oblivious Hermione was hilarious. The pining was immaculate. Draco my baby 😍 I loved the descriptions, progression, realization, actions for the significant other.
« Yes, Hermione was confident. She wouldn’t miss Draco, worth a damn. She missed him like a limb. »
« “I love you, Hermione,” Draco murmured. A thumb brushed against her lip, and his eyes darkened hotly when her tongue traced its path. He looked back up at her, his eyes fierce with determination, but light in their honesty.
“I love you, and all I want to do is make you happy, I know I can make you so fucking happy, Hermione,” his forehead rested against hers, and one of her hands shot up, and gripped at his hand on her cheek in a vain attempt to ground herself, and her rapid heartbeat. Hermione couldn’t hold back a whimper. Every fibre of her body was on fire; the very essence of her magic sung through her veins.
“I should have been honest with you from the start. I should have told you how I felt – I mean it, Granger, I’d wait forever for you, I should have told you I can wait – but, fuck, I’m a selfish man, Granger. Once I’d had a taste of you in my arms, I knew I had to have you again,” he swallowed, and his eyes clenched shut. His hands trembled against her cheeks, and she couldn’t stop herself from squeezing his hand in hers.
“I love you so fucking much, Hermione – please, please, baby, let me prove how good we are together – we're so good together, Hermione.” » Draco begging? I'm dead 💀😍🥵
A workaholic Hermione, neck deep in ministry paperwork/proposals/legislation 24/7 completely oblivious to Draco’s affection and love for her was so exceedingly painful to read that at one point I relished the idea of him just saying “Fuck it. I'm out."
He did EVERYTHING for her. Made sure she was fed, made sure she had time for her friends, organized all the complaints and squashed rights of the lesser beasts because she couldn’t say no. But then also took her out to private museum exhibits, art exhibits…—and they fucked… A lot.
Sooo she thought this is just what colleagues do. they fuck a lot, go to one’s private villa for a few extra days in a foreign country, keep cloths at the others home, CUDDLE multiple times after said fuck fest. Stay the night religiously. Wake up together.
*Snort. Oh-kay
And she was completely oblivious to this budding relationship. No one is that oblivious.
“He deceived me. He manipulated my friends. He LIED TO ME.”
Umm, what?
1 star was how wonderful Draco was 1 star for Pansy’s wrath
An extremely oblivious Hermione with a long suffering pining Draco. Loved the charming banter and the conversations about mental health and therapy. (Novella length)
Basically the pitch for this is that Hermione is a critically unhealthy workaholic who has no time for dating because shes doing lots of important/fighting injustice legal work. Draco starts by sort of tricking her to go on dates with him because they get along so well but if it’s not a rare museum exhibit she won’t make time for fun or if he’s not bringing her some lunch to share she’s forgetting to eat. These scenes are pure lovely fun vibes. So they start dating but Hermione doesn’t realize it until 2 years in. It’s simultaneously frustrating and funny. Chaos ensues.
(Light spoilers) Her reaction to realizing this was maybe too much for me? It was almost forgiven by the fantastic declaration from her to Draco. But not quite- Hermiones reaction to finding out the guy she’s been sleeping with and spending massive amounts of time with is basically her bf -was absolutely unhinged. And Pansy and Theo were weird and idk- they’re normally a fave but didn’t love them here.
Very funny running joke about how absolutely bonkers it is for Harry to want to name his son Severus. Hard agree
Really cute, fun, and fluffy! Would have been a stronger 4 if Hermione was less stubborn and oblivious. I was here for the angst and drama but it went a bit overboard to the point I was getting annoyed with Hermione. BUT I appreciated how Hermione pivoted with her character growth and how she addressed her mental health before getting back with him. A little bit repetitive but yes to the domestic fluff.

If there's one thing Hermione Granger knows, it's that she simply doesn't have time to date. Draco decides to date her, anyway.
A somewhat obtuse Hermione, but a lot of fun to read!
The comedic writing was well executed and the repartees btw Draco and Hermione were my favourite part of this fic.
That’s about all I liked in this fic.
Hermione felt extremely OOC. I couldn’t accept the premise that she wouldn’t figure out that she was in a relationship FOR 15 MONTHS! The woman has ptsd, you know what’s a very well known symptom of PTSD, hypervigilance! You think that someone who cannot shut down her brain, is a control freak, most likely suffers from ( at least) hypervigilence would not recognize the patterns?
And let’s not even get into the whole “she thought that’s stuff you do with colleagues”.
And the reason given for why she didn’t see what was going on? Yeah no.
And Draco? She was nice to you once so now you devote your life to her? Have you no self respect.
idkk, i feel like halfway through it just seems so looong. like once hermione realises we have to suffer through So much miscommunication which i absolutely hate😭 example: “There was no note. He always left a note. Hermione’s chest ruptured; he clearly didn’t even want to speak to her, anymore. ” bruv how are you jumping to such conclusions plsss this was so funny and frustrating to read, that girl was so dramatic
and then idk there's nothing really happening until the end imo, like yea great she's getting help, trying to change, but a lil fluff wouldn't hurt😔
+ sorry but i hated how they kept talking about hermione as "draco's toy" by saying that he was super possessive ocer his toys blablabla. idk hated that bye
draco was sooo cute though throughout the whole book, bless him really
- “Besides, Draco is awfully possessive over what’s his, Granger,” “Can’t keep what’s his away from him too long, he gets awfully grouchy.” - Theo - “Yes, Hermione was confident. - She wouldn’t miss Draco, worth a damn.” - “She missed him like a limb.” - “Hermione fervently hoped that the thick vines on the wall behind her belonged to the Devil’s Snare family. She had had a good life, all things considered - she supposed she would be very content to die from suffocation in that moment.” - “I'm leaving you alone, Hermione. If I can’t have you in this life, I can wait to try again in our next one.” - Draco😭😭😭 - I hate reading about miscommunication and just over analyzing and crap. - Despite that I really did enjoy this story and the adorable relationship between Draco and Crookshanks

Draco Malfoy is the perfect boyfriend, in every way. If only Hermione had time to date him but alas, she hasn't so she is sure that she and Draco aren't dating. So what if he sleeps over her flat almost every night? Or that he cooks for her and makes sure she get's to eat on her lunch break? It doesn't mean anything that he has become friendly with her friends and that she sometimes hangs out with his. Neither does the fact that they sleep together actually mean that they're dating. No, because Hermione doesn't have time to date and Draco knows that.
Lovely story. Started off fantastically well with an amazingly well-portrayed Draco. His one-sided pining and “acts of service” love language shines through so beautifully. Hermione is oblivious as hell and has a massive over-reaction when she discovers she’s been quite literally “dating” Draco for nearly two years without realizing it. Her over the top, knee jerk, reactions made for some very frustrating reading. Knocking off one star for how long drawn out her drama was. Other than that, this story is top notch. Giving it 4 stars, on the whole.
Omg love that we're starting with them on good terms and already kind of domestic roommates, so fun. Oml Hermione is so oblivious, Draco is anything but subtle 😭 Draco already knowing their children's names awww "We can be so good together, baby, please" AAA AAAA AAAAAAAAAAA. Thank God Pansy is ripping some sense into Hermione cause she was pissing me off. "That's my girlfriend you're insulting, Granger" omg what a cutie. I did get a little bored near the end, but overall fun read
The in media res beginning threw me off a little but ultimately worked for the story especially with the lower word count (that would’ve been a lot to get through plot development-wise)
The workaholic tendencies were a little triggering for me tbh, didn’t love that aspect but glad she got the help she needed to get better
DNF. My god Hermione was insufferable in this one.
It’s so strange because the other characters are really well written (Draco is a puppy) but this should’ve been a one shot, not a novella. Her OOC stupidity and obliviousness is so ridiculous and then the overreaction holy shit, I couldn’t take it anymore.
The plot point around Hermione being oblivious felt a little overdone at the start. This is a cute weekend read. I liked that the mature content was not gratuitous or overdone. That balance was perfectly done. I loved the new angle and viewpoint on Hermione. Was a little confused by narcissa/lucius. Wish we could have had more info.
very very cute book. 3.75 stars. a much more lighthearted fic about draco and hermione with a cute plot. draco and crookshanks relationship made the book tbh. hermione’s attitude towards the relationship drove me a litttle crazy. like girl… u so obviously wanted this man yet u still pushed him away. when she stopped TALKING TO HIM.. please. i cant be bothered. but still cute, draco superiority as always.

Loved this one. Hermione was so clueless for so long that it was just astounding that she never allowed herself to realize that they were dating. Not entirely sure when I read this, but I think it was in December so we’ll go with that.
I honestly wasn't sure how I'd feel about this fic based on reviews saying how frustrating Hermione was, and while I agree, this fic warmed my heart so much. I'll definitely be re-reading, it was such a fun and heartwarming story (even if the obliviousness drove me a little insane)
What the actual f was Hermione in this book? Draco was perf & it was quite well written so three stars for that, but that drama killed me because it was just so absurdly stupid that I cannot wrap my head around it
it definitely wasn’t bad at all i thoroughly enjoyed myself, but some fics just need betas please i’m so tired of “no betas we die like men” 😭 my autistic brain can’t handle grammar/spelling/vocabulary/syntax mistakes
