The most powerful witches in the country are gathering for a meeting. For Blair's tween witch mentee, Rebecca, it's her first time coming face to face with her equals. Not an easy task for an eleven-year-old.
But when another Head Witch is murdered and Rebecca is the main suspect, Blair has to work with Blythe - Rebecca's older sister and her own former nemesis - to solve the murder before Rebecca finds her bright future replaced by one behind bars.
Elle Adams lives in the middle of England, where she spends most of her time reading an ever-growing mountain of books, planning her next adventure, or writing. Elle's books are humorous mysteries with a paranormal twist and tons of magical mayhem.
She also writes urban and contemporary fantasy novels as Emma L. Adams.
Witch in Charge is Book 13 in the Blair Wilkes Mystery series by Elle Adams. This is such a great series. The author does such a great job at world building and keeping you guessing.
Rebecca, who is head witch at only 13 years old has to attend a big meeting with all the head witches. Blair and Madam Grey and Nathan accompany her. When one of the head witches turns up dead everyone's eyes are on Rebecca. Its up to Blair and Blythe, Rebecca's sister to investigate before the hunters lock up Rebecca.
This was such a fun book and I loved seeing Robin and her familiar tansy from the Wildwood Witch Series. Its always fun when series cross over.
The characters, even the snarky ones were well written. The mystery was fantastic and kept me guessing until the end.
This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. A fun cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Blair Wilkes is a half witch half ferry who lives in a supernatural town for about the past year. She is still learning magic and living a new life with her boyfriend a local member of the security force living with her roommate a healer and daughter of the local Kevin leader. She works in an office that recruits Paranormal for businesses to hire. She has a knack for stepping into different investigations and ending up helping solve them one way or the other. She also has a familiar who is a very cat. At times the cat just looks like a normal little cat and it can glamour it self to look like a huge giant cat that scares the tar out of people. This is a very entertaining and fun series to read. It crosses over on occasion along with other series from the same authors different series in the same magical world. In this particular one it also crosses over with characters from another series. Read on and find out which ones they are. Always a fun and entertaining reading.
Blair, Rebecca, Blythe, Madam Grey and Nathan all travel to a meeting for all Head Witches and Coven leaders. No one seems to be able to get along and stop fighting. Soon bad turns to worse, not just one Head witch gets murdered but, two and Rebecca is being blamed for the whole mess. Can Blair figure out who the real culprit is before anyone else dies or Rebecca is convicted of murder? Let's hope so...
I missed these guys since I read books 1 to 12 in one go so on finding book 13 been released was just what I needed to make a day in work go faster I listen to my books read and speech option on my kindle so I listen to my books I love Blair and know Sky would have her back I just wish she would not blame herself for other people s bad attitude and behaviour she a girl with pure heart she's also smart beautiful and one hell of a fairy/witch
This was definitely a fun read. However, There seem to be too many plots and counterplots crammed into the story. I think this could’ve been stretched out into two books instead of just one. Some of the facts and details about what was going on with the paranormal hunters and the witches got a little bit fuzzy.
This book was all over the place, seriously she need to learn about her ancestors and her mother no matter what, Blair can't keep winging it and she need to work with her dad too wait what kind of magic does a fairy had apart from glamour, glitter and wings? How important is her dad in fairy world?
Another book with crossover characters and once again it's rather stilted and wooden.. they don't feel finished.. Adams seems to find it difficult to maintain her characters and their conversation reads rather flat and shallow.. the story felt contrived and the result weak
Probably my favorite of the series so far. It kept me guess whodunit. I really thought I had it figured out but it got me in the end. Now to figure out the portal to fairyland and what that means for the fairies in fairy falls, and did the missing scepter fall into the portal?
Totally enjoyed it! This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
