Nick Jensen is a man among boys at Hillside U. A football god. A blond-haired, All-American charmer with sky blue eyes and a smile that no one can resist.
But don’t get caught under his spell. Because he’s not looking for that special one.
Why do I care? I don’t. Not really.
Besides, I have the perfect boyfriend. The prestigious sorority. I have it all.
At least, that’s what I keep telling myself because deep down, I know my life is one big lie. And I will smile and wave while I keep my mask in place. But what happens when all my lies come to the surface?

Dear Nicholas. What can I say about Nicholas? For that matter, what can’t I say about Nicholas? Oh. Em. Gee. Dear Nicholas blew me away. Ms. Croft let loose another side to her writing and made me think, ‘you can’t judge a book by its cover, and you can’t judge a character based on what is superficially portrayed to you.’ Nick depicts this happy-go-lucky, All-American playboy without a care in the world. Kenzie is this sorority girl who should be worried about next weekend's party instead of…oh, you thought I was going to slip, but no can do my little readers. Read Dear Nicholas to find out what Miss Kenzie has floating behind that perfect hair, makeup, and sorority living! I am positively in love with Emilio and Vicente (Mendoza series), but I must be honest that Nick is pushing a very close third. This book is witty, heartfelt, gut-wrenching, discusses topics like a ‘The More You Know’ PSA. It is unfathomable to digest and think about what’s going on behind closed doors all in the name of family. I am extremely honored to not only see Ms. Croft as a debut author, throwing her hat in the ring, to now stretching and soaring her wings to different characters who are complex and have to maneuver life and different situations. Dear Nicholas, is book 2, Boys on the Hill series and have continued to secondarily spotlight Axel and Dmitri. I can’t wait for book 3!!
“I need to see this beautiful pussy that has haunted me every night.” He sounded like he was in pain as his eyes were zeroed in on my sex. “Open up for me.” He coaxed, while his broad shoulders nudged my thighs wider as he exhaled heavily through his nose. “It’s such a sweet cunt. So sweet, I’m going out of my fucking mind.”
I DEVOURED this story! Rose Croft is a new to me author and if you've been in my book rec group on Facebook recently you know that I DEVOURED MY ROMAN and freaking loved it so so much! Well I think I LOVED Dear Nicholas even MORE! Nick is the ULTIMATE book boyfriend! Dirty talking possessive alpha who would do ANYTHING for the girl he loves! AND THE ANGST! Add in some DARK and you have the perfect story that will have you turning the pages! AND YES IT'S HOT AF!! 🥵🥵🥵
DEAR NICHOLAS IS AVAILABLE IN KINDLE UNLIMITED and a MUST read! This book has been added to my TOP READS of the year!
There is a reason that this author is one of my favorites.
With every book that this author writes, she seems to get better and better. There is an intensity in the way that she creates not only dynamic characters but in the setting of how she crafts a scene. That is part of the reason that with each book that she publishes, it seems to get better. I think that, in part, it is not only her ability to create a fresh and new story but in the fact that she gives 110% in order to ensure that her character voices come out. She doesn't follow a cookie-cutter approach where she steers her characters into telling the story that she thinks should be written, but instead allows her characters to take the lead.
I knew going into this book that Nick would be very different from Roman and as much as I loved Roman, I was looking forward to what made Nick tick. Even as different as he was, like night and day from Roman, he owned his character. There was something special about his softer side. He had these moments of vulnerability that I was drawn to and I would find myself wanting to be his cheerleader when he struggled (for example writing papers) or when he dealt with some of his backstory. Kenzie was someone that I related to in a lot of ways. It is hard enough to have to navigate what society dictates as normal, especially for a woman, but then to have to factor being a pawn instead of being a child adds that pressure tenf0ld. Add in unhealthy or toxic relationships and it is enough to cripple a person, and yet, Kenzie persevered. I liked that Nick and Kenzie found a way to heal each other. They both saw the beauty in the other and that gave me hope that there is no obstacle that love and acceptance cannot overcome. Their chemistry was palpable and the steamy times were well done. They didn't overpower the story instead; they enhanced it by showcasing a love that was destined.
I highly recommend this book and this author. Watching her grow in confidence and her craft is a joy (and privilege) to experience. I am very much waiting for Dimitri's book next. Off-topic, this cover is fire. It is totally, how I picture Nick looking.
Absolutely loved this book!! I loved the connection between Nicholas and Kenzie. It’s always so funny when you have a player that isn’t about the girlfriend life but he falls head over backwards for the girl lol! It’s like he’ll say he doesn’t want a girlfriend and then as the reader I’m like “famous last words”. Now this book is different than others I’ve read and it’s interesting because of Nicholas’s family. Don’t get me started on Kenzie’s family UGH! I hate them to my core! Well except her brother but Justin really took the cake for me! Gah! I hated that guy and Chloe and Gretchen so hardcore. I can’t wait to see what Rose Croft comes up with next!
Dear Nicholas is book 2 in Boys on the Hill Series. Nick and Kenzie’s story will pull you in from the first page and you will not be able to put it down it has a little of every emotion and in the end love wins out. This pair deserve their HEA and I am so looking forward to more of them both in the next book.
OMG! I LOVED THIS BOOK WITH ALL MY HEART!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU ROSE FOR GIVING ME AN ARC COPY 😭🤍🥺 NICHOLAS STEPHEN JENSEN IS THE FUCKING MAN OF MY LIFE I REST MY CASE.
I have never seen anyone talk about it anywhere. I read it bc I saw the author post about something from book 1 on tiktok and got sucked into the series.
Deserves more hype on tiktok than a lot of the college romance series you see trending on there tbh.
However, I don’t think there was enough smut in it but tbh I have high expectations on that. The storyline was really good, the characters and side characters are good, and the author includes a playlist which idk I love when they do that.
Just all around a good read if you’re into the college romance WITH A TWIST stories.
Nicholas and Kenzie are IT! This two had me head over heels, I love them together. Nicholas is you typical player, he’s gorgeous and doesn’t need or want a girlfriend but Kinzie crosses his path and well, there went his heart!!! There is so much to this story, you get you happy moments but there is also hate, passion and strength writing all over. I loved Ronan but I think Nick is now my fave. I cannot wait for what’s to come in this series.
Kenzie thought she had the perfect boyfriend, but she was wrong, so, so, wrong! While she was dreaming of forever, said boyfriend was doing things he shouldn't have been and keeping secrets....the kind that could put an end to a relationship in a heartbeat. After a few questionable actions on his part Kenzie starts to become suspicious, then a teammate of his steps in and helps her see just what her darling boyfriend has been up to.
Learning the truth was excruciating on her heart and quite embarrassing... but things are about to start looking up!
Dear Nicholas is emotionally charged new adult romance with characters that are bound to steal your heart. The moment I met Kenzie I couldn't help but feel for her and also worry about her, she found herself in quite the predicament and I wasn't sure she'd make it out unscathed. But then Nick came along, saw her struggling and helped her pick up the pieces of her broken heart.
For as much as Nick claimed to be a no-strings kind of guy, he seemed to fall quite nicely into a relationship with Kenzie. It wasn't a quick fall though, it was more of a slow build relationship, one that was founded on trust, love, respect, and genuine care. I loved watching them dance around each other, and eventually dance right into one another's hearts... it was a perfectly constructed romance! Highly recommend!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Dear Nicholas is a story that hits you hard and is at times heartbreaking and confronting. Nick and Kenzie have both suffered and wear the mask of indifference to ensure people don’t see the pain and heartache they feel beneath the surface. The connection and chemistry radiates off the pages and draws you in. Their story is highly emotional, angsty and the sexual chemistry between these two is burning hot. The protectiveness they feel for each other will steal your breath at times. These two frustrated me when they refused to confide in the other but this just added another element to have me captivated by their story. It wasn’t all deep and meaningful as it had light moments with true friends and witty banter to make you laugh and smile. These two took a hard road but the end destination was overflowing with a forever love.
Be ready to 𝚂𝚆𝙾𝙾𝙽!! Nicholas Jensen is the ultimate book boyfriend! Yup, I said it and I'm sticking to it. He's made his way to the top of the book boyfriend list and placed himself at the #1 spot!
I LOVED this book. It had all my fave things in a story- angst, attraction, push and pull, chemistry. Kenzie is a fighter, having self-centered/horrid parents, she has learned to walk around with her head held high, mask of indifference with a touch of snob firmly in place. She can't afford for anyone to get close to her and peek behind the curtain.
Nick has his own secrets...things that keep him from wanting a relationship. That is until Kenzie. With his mask of All-American guy, campus stud, star football player, hidden family secrets, he's well versed in masks and recognizes Kenzie's. He doesn't want to get close, but can't stay away. He wants to protect her. Shield her from pain.
What makes makes Nick the best book boyfriend? He's loyal, protective, gentle, alpha but knows boundaries, a bada$$, sense of humor, with a generous touch of cockiness. ❤️🔥
They slowly learned to trust each other. It didn't come naturally or easily, both of them jaded. This is one of those stories that pull at your heart strings.
I have been waiting for Rose Croft to feed my addiction to this series with another book, and wow, she exceeded every expectation!
Kenzie may have appeared to be a spoiled rich princess, while Nick seemed to have everything going for him as well, but under the masks they both wore, their lives were anything but perfect.
Nick is a college football god with a promising future in the NFL, and although he can tell Kenzie would be nothing but trouble, he can’t seem to stop himself from wanting to protect her and inserting himself into her life. “...maybe I recognized pain covered with a smile a mile away.”
Kenzie is a mess with so many secrets, so she definitely didn’t need a cocky and gorgeous football player like Nick around. However, she soon discovers just how much she likes having him around and how good he is for her.
Despite their imperfections, they’re perfect together!
Nick had me swooning...he’s one very sweet dirty talker. He’s the one who’s there to back you up and cheer you on.
Nick is undeniably sexy and together these two are pure fire! This is an absolute compelling, touching and steamy must read.
DEAR NICHOLAS by Rose Croft was such a freaking treat! An NA, sports romance that I devoured from start to finish. Nicholas and Kenzie were everything! He’s the typical player enjoying the high life of sports, girls, and fun and not wanting anything serious. Enter our girl Kenzie and the poor dude doesn’t stand a chance! She brings out his more vulnerable side and together they help mend one another. And of course the chemistry and connection they share was fire and I couldn’t pry myself away from the pages if I had tried. Spoiler alert: I did not! Totally recommend! 5 stars.
Dear Nicholas is book 2 in Boys on the Hill Series. Nick and Kenzie’s story will pull you in from the very first page and you will not be able to put it down. The chemistry between Nick and Kenzie is mind blowing but they are both afraid to admit that they have feelings for each other after the one night that they shared. I loved everything about this book and I really can't wait for the next book in this series to come out.
5 DEAR NICHOLAS STARS!! OMG....I am so in love with Nicholas...he is my EVERYTHING. Nicholas and Kenzie have put a mark on my heart forever. Their story will give you all the feels with lots of sexiness and banter. Now on to this author, Rose Croft....her words are like honey, sweet and stick to you heart all the way through. You must read this book, so download now.
What an adoring story. There’s something about football players that gets me. Their possessiveness, competitive nature and for most, their strong hearts. I loved this book. Such a breeze to read and full of excitement with those unexpected twists this author likes to throw our way. Not to forget the heroins that make my pulse race and heart sing. I’m very excited to see how the next book pans out. This comes recommended.
Another Incredible Read! This author's books just keep getting better and better, and the book just kept me reading until I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore!
I fell in love pretty quickly, and I fell in love instantly with the characters. Loved it! Highly recommend!
Rose knows how to pull you in with her words and story for her boys! Dear Nicholas l so loved this read these reads just keep getting better, even though this read has heartache for these two and what Nick and Kenzie have gone through they are so perfect for each other! Now let me get to these boys and how they love to poke the bear being Nick and Roman, their banta is on point! Please bring on book3 the cocky playboy that is Axel l am looking forward to his story!
Dear Nicholas is a fantastic story. Nick and Kenzi's story is everything!!! I got the chills from reading their story. Definitely one of a kind. You'll be swooning over Nick. I felt so many emotions throughout this book. My new favorite by Rose. Love, love, loved every moment of the book.
“Then, let’s be wrong together. Just for tonight.”
Love the depth of these characters, Nicholas and Kenzie. Rose Croft has the ability to reel you in with her words, characters, the emotions she pulls from you as the story unfolds is brilliantly executed.
LITERALLY OBSESSED WITH THIS SERIES! I devoured this book. Nick and Kenzie's story will pull at your little heartstrings but it was everything. These Hillside boys have my heart! I can't wait for Dmitri's book next.
I totally agree with you all that Nick is so swoon-worthy. The reason I give it 4.5 stars is because I am struggling with Kenzie's behavior to do what her parents and Justin want at first. I feel better when she finally stands for herself and feel more engaged in the story since. I like Kenzie when I read My Roman but in this book, I know her more and with everything she has been through, I am so glad she has Nick by her side. I also like Nick when he messed with Roman about Theo and I think karma catches him up in this book! I like his relationship with his housemates. And I really appreciate both Axel and Dmitri's actions because it helps reduce the stress I feel while I am reading both Nick and Kenzie deal with their problems. Kenzie is lucky to meet Theo and has her as her roommate too. This book has more angst and tension than the first one because both Nick and Kenzie have been suffered from their families so be prepared for it. Aside from that it is perfect and I feel hangover after I finish reading it. Can't wait for Dmitri's book and seriously I want to know more about Axel because he seems to be a funny guy whenever he is with his friends but he would meets his match eventually... right?
Nick is your All-American football player who enjoys his playboy ways. Kenzie's life looks perfect on paper but there's more under the surface that no one can see. Of course, the same could be said about Nick as still waters run deep, so the best thing to happen to these two is coming across each other as the playboy may finally fall for this perfect girl. There was a lot of emotion jumping out of the pages surrounding me to where I felt it all with them especially when it came to their families as I felt that deep. Kenzie is a great girl while Nick is an amazing young man so I know that I was cheering them on the whole way through since both deserved the world. However, it's not an easy journey since both of them have some trust issues so in order to see how it all plays out, you know what to do as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
So I didn’t quite like this one as much as the first one. I didn’t feel the same chemistry between these two that Roman and Theo had.
There was a lot going on in this book. Both MCs had major problems with their families. Both abused in different ways. Then there was a bunch of drama at school. Kenzie had an awful boyfriend at the beginning of this book. We see at the end of book one that she eventually finds out he was cheating on her. Apparently everyone knew except for her which honestly made me mad at Nick. Because he wanted her and their bffs were dating and yet he let her get cheated on repeatedly without saying anything.
Anyway Kenzie has a lot of drama with Justin her ex after they finally break up. He’s such a tool. Nick steps in and defends her again and again and then they finally get into a relationship. I wish Kenzie would have opened up about her family drama to Nick a lot sooner than she did. It was almost the end of the book before she finally came clean about everything. Every time they had a deep convo I thought, finally she’s going to tell him but no she kept everything inside and it bugged me after a while. Also I kept comparing her to Theo because I just loved her so much from the first book.
Nick was an interesting character. He became increasingly possessive over Kenzie. Much like the first book he got into a lot of fights to defend her and I did like that even though he initially didn’t want a girlfriend he knew he was never going to let her go. I just wish the first book showed his interest in her rather than him having interest in her bff and roommate, Theo. Their chemistry and their feelings for one another would have made a lot more sense if he went after her and not Theo. Also I was happy he wasn’t as much of a manwhore as everyone makes him out to be. He never talks or thinks about past conquests, never had a girl in his room. He says people assume he’s the campus player and he doesn’t disagree or agree with it when they say it because he doesn’t care what they think.
There was some OM drama of course with her jerk of an ex. And some OW drama with a sorority sister who hates Kenzie and throws herself at Nick but Nick definitely tells her off each time.
I’m nervous about Dimitri’s book because we see him full on hook up with a girl in the first book and I hate reading a guys book after seeing that. If anything he’s the biggest player of them all. We’ll see if it’s safe enough for me.
-NO CHEATING (Kenzie does kiss her bf in the beginning of the book but she doesn’t want it and he basically forces her) -SOME OW AND OM DRAMA (see above) -NO VIRGINS -REFORMED PLAYER I GUESS BUT I DONT THINK HE WAS AS BAD AS EVERYONE MADE HIM OUT TO BE -KENZIES EX DRUGS HER AND ATTEMPTED SA -A LOT OF FIGHTING -ATTEMPTED MURDER BY SECONDARY CHARACTER ON OTHER SECONDARY CHARACTERS
This book had me screaming and yelling which automatically means it was good! I did not expect Nick to be that hot (like hot damn, it’s hot in this room.) I also didn’t expect this book to be SO SPICYYYYYY (hit me so suddenly lol). In all seriousness I like how they spill and trust each other with their deepest secrets (Nick with his dad and Kenzie with her self image). I like how Nick continue to show how he would protect Kenzie in any situation but also remind her that she is she strong. I like how Kenzie would do the same, their a team and it clearly shows.
Honestly the people in this book besides the main characters friends (and Kenzie’s brother) SUCKED! I hated them all, Justin is an asshole, F that, Kenzie’s parents are just god awful. I still have some hatred for Nick’s dad, I know he’s sick and all but that doesn’t excuse the fact he has been hitting Nick since forever.
What I liked: * The Mc Mac nickname was so stupid but cute? * I like how Nick constantly wanted to ‘protect’ Kenzie because she was too oblivious about Justin * When he took Kenzie home from a party and ripped of the necklace Justin gave her lol * “McKenzie,” he murmured against my hair, like a sweet caress. “Do you realize how hard it is for me to sit and watch you having dinner with him?” (THIS WHOLE SCENE HAD ME SCREAMING) * Their first time was H. O. T. * WHEN HE FINALLY PUNCHES JUSTIN! I SCREAMED! * Nick is such a dirty talker…… I love it * When Nick admits he wants to protect Kenzie * The friendship between the boys, it’s nice * Theo and Kenzie’s friendship * When Kenzie admits she’s falling in love with Nick * When they say “I love you” to each other (my heart) * I like how she calls him sun king, it’s funny * “She grasped my chin murmuring over my lips. “I love you, Nicholas Stephen Jensen.”………….. “I love you, McKenzie Joy, one day, Jensen.” She would be. She was mine and would be my wife eventually. ”
This is Nicholas and Kenzie's story, a playboy and a sorority girl that will have you hooked from the start, this is the second book in the Boys on the Hill series, you will love them all. Their interactions are amazing, the banter is so entertaining and of course the playboy doesn't want a relationship and fall for a girl, so yeah that is how it goes.
A compelling, touching, steamy, and addictive must read! Where do I get a Nick of my very own?!
Despite their imperfections, they’re perfect together. Nick is undeniably sexy and together these two are pure fire!
Nick had me swooning...he’s one very sweet dirty talker. He’s the one who’s there to back you up and cheer you on.
Book 2 in the Boys on the Hill series exceeded every expectation and now I’m even more eager for Book 3!
