DNF, this is really immature and seems to hinge on the idea that this guy has been horribly mean to her for years and years because he "likes" her... Telling girls that was always stupid and just leads to girls growing to accept DV. So even though these are adult characters they act like pre-teen children much of the time and I'm rolling my eyes way to much to continue on.

Barlow & Atlas is a enemies to lovers romance and they remind me of Pacey and Joey from Dawson Creek.
They had that banter and constantly pulling each other legs and I just smiled all the way through this book. I have had a gloomy week and this did cheer me up because they remind me of Pacey & Joey 😆😂

I love that Barlow & Atlas have always tried to be civil around each for her twin brother sake and her brother reaction was BRILLIANT 😂 They both love her brother and now it's her Brother's, Brennon turn to show that he supports them...no spoilers

This title is the PERFECT for this love and yes gravity is a big part of their love story ❤❤

A sweet brothers best friend romance. I enjoyed this one. Atlas and B definitely had the love / hate thing going on and you see the chemistry between them. It builds throughout the book. I like a bit of a slow burn, this one wasn’t too slow but just enough. I’m also glad her brothers reaction wasn’t the typical one.
The bickering and arguments were definitely entertaining. I’m hoping her brother gets a book.

A freaking Page Turner & an awesome time 😍😍😍

✅Enemies-to-lovers
✅Brother's Best friend
✅Best friend's sister
✅College Romance

This is perfectly that kinda book when you're in a mood to have a good time and want to get lost in the pages of a good romance with lots of that love-hate to add the perfect spice to the story.

Force of Gravity was that perfect page turner for me. I couldn't keep from smiling and laughing at Atlas and Barlow's antics and banter.

Atlas and Barlow have been enemies since forever. It stemmed right from the past when Barlow felt that this new guy was stealing her twin brother away from her when until then it'd just been her and her twin.

Now finally they all are away to college and living independently. But day 1 and Barlow's bad luck seems to have made an appearance when the campus housing gets things mixed up leaving her without a place to stay and with only the option of staying at her brother's new apartment.
But the catch, atlas is the other roommate and so now the enemies have to put up with each other on a daily basis.

Mind you, these two literally can't stand each other. Constantly bickering and throwing barbs at each other. Brennon, Barlow's brother acting referee many times.

It's not until a incidence of Barlow making atlas her pretend boyfriend, then a secret kiss to keep a secret and the many hours of living together and constant provokings all escalates till it all explodes into Hot chemistry. Atlas and Barlow giving into the temptation and the tease.

What I loved about this book is not only the playful yet hateful banter of atlas and Barlow but her brother Brennon was a true gentleman in how he's always there for his sister but also supports and understands why his friend is an egotistical playboy. Also her friend Rita and Zoe were awesome. The writing makes you feel like you are living the life with them and I loved how it made me feel. Absolutely happy and amazing.
Loved freaking loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

QOTD: If you went to college, did you live in dorms or "off campus"?

My A: Off Campus! Though the University of Iowa is spread all over Iowa City so you're pretty much always on campus. 😜

.

Sometimes if I really can't decide what book to read, I'll hand my Kindle to my husband and ask him to pick a book for me. Here's his latest pick! This book was 100% picked for the cover and title, but can you blame him?! I love gorgeous cover so much! 😍

.

Force Of Gravity is perfect for readers who like:

-New Adult romance

- College setting

- Enemies to Lovers

- Forced Proximity

- Brother's best friend

I'll admit, at 26, this was a little immature for my taste, but felt pretty accurate for 19/20 year olds in their freshman year of college. The steam was pretty mild but not completely non-existent but the banter and quick wit will keep you in your toes! Pretty low angst and drama, but the M mc is a huge player and that's something I know is controversial in the romance reading world so if that kind of thin bothers you, skip this one!

.

All in all, a solid palate cleansing, fast paced romance and free on KU!

.

BLURB:

Arrogant. Egotistical. Playboy.

Three words that perfectly describe Atlas Keaton.

My twin brother’s best friend.

The absolute bane of my existence.

And my new college roommate.

It wasn’t by choice of course.

The last thing I wanted was to be forced to endure a full semester living under the same roof as him and my brother.

But when a housing mix-up leaves me three thousand miles away from home with nowhere else to turn, I don’t really have another option.

It’s only four months, how hard could it be, right?

Wrong…

Because when you’re dealing with a man like Atlas Keaton, nothing is off limits.

Including me…

This book y’all 🗣🗣🗣

I LOVED it. The tension, the banter, the sweet moments… I finished it within a day because it was such a page-turner!!!!!

✅ Brother’s best friend
✅ Childhood enemies to lovers
✅ College romance
✅ Roommates
✅ Forced proximity
✅ Protective/possessive male MC
✅ Dual POV

4.5 ⭐️
3.5 🌶

When Barlow finds herself without a dorm room after an administrative mess-up, she’s forced to move into an apartment with her twin brother and his best friend. She’s known Atlas since they were kids, but that doesn’t mean she likes the guy. In fact, she can’t stand his guts—and he makes sure she knows he’s not her biggest fan, either.

Listen… Every trope served what needed to be served. If you’re looking for a steamy but also quite wholesome brother’s best friend/enemies to lovers book, make sure you add this one to your TBR because it’s 🎶 amazing 🎶

Arguably we could say their relationship was a little toxic, sure, but it wasn’t *that* bad. The whole “he messes with you because he likes you” argument is heavily featured on here, but the story didn’t feel like a bully romance despite this. I didn’t think Atlas crossed any lines, and it wasn’t like Barlow held back either. My girl went for the throat 😤 They were an explosive match made in heaven, in every sense of the word.

Overall this was such a fun, lighthearted read! I’ll be checking out more from this author for sure.

𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞? Yes.

𝐈𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝? Yes (only for a limited time I believe)

𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐋𝐆𝐁𝐓𝐐+ 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤? I don’t remember any explicit queer representation.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐎𝟑 𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐭? “The tension and forced proximity 🥵” “Atlas is a traumatised, broody, protective alpha male so um yes, give it to me” and “A very refreshing read”

This is one of my favourite types of romance reads and this story really captured the different elements of enemies to lovers read that I love. The two characters had some really hot chemistry in the story and I really loved their hate/ love relationship. This was one story that I could not put down once I started reading.

Barlow I really adored the way that she got stuff done and the relationship that she shared with her brother. I really enjoy how she sticks up for herself with Atlas and continues to deal with whatever fate sends her way.

Atlas I absolutly love depsite his mawhore ways, it was obvious that he was a good guy and that he had genuine feelings for Barlow. I really enjoyed him and thought he was perfect for Barlow.

This was an enjoyable read that had a lot of emotions throughout the story. I enjoy the way that the characters get together.

I was so close to DNF this book. They are freshman in college but come across extremely immature. The way they torment each other was very childish. I despised Atlas with his demeaning words, attitude and actions towards Barlow. His hurtful, lashing out defense mechanism was horrible.

The story begins with Barlow’s unfortunate circumstances on a dorm mix up & now she has to stay with her twin brother and his best friend Atlas - her sworn “enemy”
However her brother even noticed their interactions in the past. Saying to her “ what is it with you two? I swear, if I didn’t know any better, I would think you two are masking deep seeded feelings for each other with the way you two carry on”
Barlow and Atlas have known each for years, he would pick on her frequently and as they got older, they started trading barbs at each other every chance they got. Here they are in the same college and temporary “roommates” Fate continues to throw them together even on campus when she finds him in some of her classes.
I like that Barlow is feisty and deals with what life throws her way including dealing with Atlas and his “man-whore” ways. But also not used to being around him & actually being friendly to each other.
Their “togetherness” leads to a lot more! They decide to give into their physical attraction and once they give into passion there’s no stopping them.
They both begin to have strong feelings for each other but Barlow knows this “fling” has an expiration date and Atlas thinks he’s not the “relationship “ kind of guy. He thinks that he’s not cut out for love because of his families past.
Melissa tells us a story of 2 friends who become enemies for years, then decide to give into their attraction, then hurt & eventually love. It’s a long road they travel but eventually they find love. As always a great story that gets you hooked at the beginning. You’ll enjoy the other characters in the book too.

Atlas Keaton is the bane of her existence, the one person on this planet that annoys her with his mere presence in the room. For so many years they have been at each other's throats, it's been a constant game of trying to put the other in their place. As much as Barlow hates Atlas there is a small part of her that is curious what it would be like to be the girl to lay claim to his unattainable heart. But that little thought will never see the light of day...

Between the pages of Force of Gravity you will meet two people that can't stand the sight of one another, but manage to fall head over heals by the time the last page comes. Upon first meeting it was hard to see how these two would ever find common ground, the hate they had for one another was easily felt and ever present. Every chance they got they were exchanging barbs and pushing each other's buttons... it was quite an intense battle! But somewhere along the way that hate started to morph into something else, and those hidden feelings they had for one another started to lead the way. It was a slow, intense, torturous ride... but definitely worth the wait!

There was a lot to like about this one, it had feels, bits of humor, intense steamy moments, and characters that kept me captivated the whole way through! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

I really liked this book. I am typically not one anymore for reading about the young "kids" in college because I am getting older and it is not something I gravitate to, but I do love enemies to lovers type stories and this was a good one. I will preface that with stating I really did not like Atlas... especially in the beginning. He was childish and, mean, actually. I was glad to see that throughout the story he grew up a little bit. :)

Brennon, Barlow, and Atlas have known each other for a long time, Brennon and Atlas are best friends, and they are living together in an apartment for college. There was a housing mix-up and Barlow did not have a place to live, so she moved in with Atlas and Brennon for the first semester. Of course, Barlow and Atlas despised each other, but secretly did have feelings for each other. There were many secret nights sneaking around and then Brennon met a girl and kept him a little busier, leading Atlas and Barlow to be able to spend more time together.

This book goes through the ups and downs that Atlas and Barlow had as their relationship developed. and it had a great ending. And, even though, I don't gravitate towards the college-aged books anymore, I am actually hoping for a book about Brennan and Rita.

🇺🇸 I love both tropes “enemies-to-lovers” and “brother’s best friend” so it sounded perfect… but something didn’t click, for me.

Atlas at the beginning was an absolute jerk. Not in the bully way, he meant to be. He was cruel and his actions were mean. Maybe his attitudes didn’t change from many bullies that I’ve read but his thoughts did. Hi didn’t have that inner dialogue that was full of emotion. He was just a jerk.
B was funny and and even though Atlas kind of acts better, I never felt that connection between them.

The twin? I loved him. And his reaction as well.

Force of Gravity is a fabulous best friends sister romance. You are just going to love everything about this one. Barlow is fantastic. I love how she speaks her mind and has an amazing bond with her twin brother Brennon. Atlas is that arrogant playboy who thinks everyone leaves. He is a hard read for a while and will have you giggling along the way. You are just going to love the banter Atlas and Barlow have as they push each others buttons. You feel that underlining attraction as the jabs keep coming. There is just something about Atlas and Barlow that make so much sense for their hate for each other slowly drifts away into unknown territory. Atlas is a work in progress and the more you get to know him the more you understand why he is the way he is. There is such a force that pulls Atlas and Barlow together that you will not be able to put this one down. Barlow may think her life is full of bad luck but there is this force that pulls her towards Atlas since they were kids. I love Barlow and Atlas so much. I could not put this one down. YOU NEED TO MEE ATLAS AND BARLOW.

After reading the blurb to this book I knew I wanted to read it based solely on the trope alone. I most definitely wasn’t disappointed. The barbs and the bickering between Atlas and Barlow is simply outstanding. But what had me on the edge of my seat was when both their feelings started to change. Hate started to morph into tolerance. Then tolerance turned into sort of like. You see where I am going with this. It was so, so good to read. I can only hope that Barlow’s brother ends up with his own story as well. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. ~Sharon

Force of Gravity is a enemies to lovers romance about Barlow and Atlas. Atlas is Barlow's twin brother's best friend and the bane of her existence. Barlow has a twin brother, and that twin has a best friend named Atlas, and she can't stand him LOL! They've quite literally known each other for a very long time, and even his presence near her is annoying as all get out. However, deep deep and deep down, there's a tiny part of her who is curious about what it would be like to be with him, but it's very deep down LOL! She ends up needing to stay at their place (and trust me, she would have gone anywhere else if possible) so they really get mean towards each other. I'm normally on the heroine's side, but she was just as mean as he was in their battles & it got old for me super quick so I was ready to shake them both. Of course, love & hate are two sides of the same coin so the forced proximity will move them into new territory, and that's all from me. Now it's your turn to experience the goodness that is Force of Nature for yourselves by one clicking on it as I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Force of gravity

This is a best friend's sister romance read at its best from this author. You will fall in love with the characters from the start. This story follows the characters Barlow and Atlas, these two characters have such amazing banter between them and their chemistry is just off the charts. Once you start this story you won’t want to put this book down till you get to the last page then you will be wanting and needing more. This book will have you laughing in places especially with Atlas, he's such an amazing character. This is another fantastic read from this author.

I was given an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my honest review

I went into this book excited because who doesn't enjoy a good enemies-to-lovers story? This isn't an overly long book, but I have to admit that I'm just not a fan of Atlas and his behavior when it comes to Barlow. Not the snide comments and their antagonistic barbs back and forth, but the physical interactions he had with other females, especially after sharing certain moments with Barlow; such a d-bag to do that. I do wish we'd gotten more of the story from Atlas' point of view, although I was impressed that he finally confronted his dad and got the truth about what happened within his family all those years before, definitely an eye-opener for Atlas and everything he thought was true. And thank you for the brother not being all weird about his sister and his best friend being together, I'm over those stories where the sibling is so adamant and overly protective the couple has to sneak around just to be happy with their person lol.

These two have the best banter back and forth. Atlas has been best friends with Barlow's twin brother forever and his favorite past time is making sure Barlow knows how he isn't a fan of her. When a mix-up happens with the dorms and Barlow is forced to sleep on the couch in her brothers apartment he shares with Atlas you know that there are going to be sparks flying and not just the good ones you want. We don't know much about Atlas other than he isn't a fan of Barlow and takes everything out on her. I wanted to fully love this one, but sometimes it takes one thing that makes me want to cringe. This man gets to show Barlow the other side of him and what does he do, whatever he wants apparently. I mean totally a way to win over the girl you have liked but swore to your best friend you wouldn't cross the line. Still a good book and I did love how strong Barlow was, even when she felt like the gum stuck in someone's hair.

Great story about the forbidden best friends sister! Atlas will have you laughing and scratching your head at times, and Barlow, with her quick wit and dislike of him will make you laugh also! 5 forbidden stars for this one!
Barlow and her twin brother Brennon are off to the same college, she's supposed to be in a dorm while her brother gets an apartment. Only problem is too many people got dorms, so Barlow lost out. Her brother invites her to live with him and Atlas in the apartment their dad is paying for. How bad can that be right? Well when Atlas arrives, he just gets under her skin, and the two constantly go at it. How will she survive this semester with them?
Read along and see how these two try to coexist with each other, without killing each other! Great story, make sure you grab it asap!

I just walked away from this one feeling turned upside down! To say that in the beginning I was frustrated with Atlas and Barlow would be an understatement - I could not stand the way they treated each other. I wondered how Brennon could deal with the tumultuous relationship between his twin sister and his best friend. But even then it was easy to see the obvious chemistry, the obvious barriers and the big something that was holding Atlas back. I loved the way Melissa tells the story, you feel like your inside both Atlas and Barlow's heads, their inner thoughts make you chuckle, because they are talking directly to you - answering your unasked questions! The growth in character changed the way I felt about Atlas and Barlow and the ending was absolutely perfect ~ I wouldn't expect anything different from Atlas 😉

I'm going to freely admit that sometimes enemies to lovers romances are hit or miss with me and while I wouldn't say this one was a complete miss, it wasn't a homerun either. I thought the writing was well done and the brother's best friend trope really worked for me because I'm a huge forbidden romance fan. The story offers a lot of drama, tension, intense emotion and steam along with splashes of humor, sweetness, poignancy, cuteness and heart. My biggest issue here was I really did not care for these characters. Atlas and Barlow were frustrating and unlikable. I did feel a certain amount of sympathy for Barlow but some of her actions and cattiness really bugged me. As for Atlas, nope. Just NOPE! I thought this guy was a mega jerk and kind of skeezy. I am freely posting a forthright review.

Barlow and Atlas have know each other since they were little. She liked him until he became her twin brother's best friend and she became jealous of their friendship and replaced caring to not being able to stand him and only had sarcastic remarks for him. Fast forward they are all at the same college, the two guys have an apartment together and due to a housing clutch, Barlow finds herself sleeping on their couch. Now the fun begins along with the hate part of their relationship turning to secret sex/feelings and when those feelings start becoming more and Barlow wants to let her brother know, Atlas backs away saying their time together was just a hookup and not going anywhere. Ms. Toppen again gives us a well written enemies to lovers story, I loved the no filter mouth of Barlow and the issues that made Atlas afraid of being loved. A really great read , couldn't put it down.

Force of Gravity was a great light read in between some romances heavy on the angst. It takes quite a bit to get me to laugh and I found this book effortlessly funny.
It is a brother’s best friend, enemies to lovers romance about Atlas and Barlow. He is best friends with her twin brother, Brennan. After they all have moved to college for freshman year, there is a housing mix-up in which she has nowhere to stay for four months. She ends up living with Brennan and Atlas. They have been at each other’s throats every since Atlas became best friends with Brennan. Now they are under the same roof and can’t help pushing each other’s buttons.
This story ended up being a great weekend read that left me with a smile on my face. It definitely kept my attention and I do recommend it. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

3.5 stars. This book definitely took me some time to get into as it was a little hard to get past Atlas sleeping with so many other women. However, the book did start to pick up once the relationship between Barlow and Atlas started. I do wish we could have had more chapters in Atlas’s POV since he was the more complex character with his family and trust issues. I also wish we had seen more of Barlow’s family (apart from her brother) and possibly seen how Atlas was with her parents (ex. do they see him as part of the family and like another son or do they only see him as Brennon’s best friend). Another thing I would have liked is to have seen a little bit more of them actually being in a relationship together instead of the author skipping to the epilogue right after they finally admit their feelings for each other.

All in all, a good enjoyable read.

I guess I could give it 3.5 🌟...

It's your regular enemies-to-lovers, brother's-best-friend story, without any surprises or major plot twists.

Atlas and Barlow have known each other since they were kids and have also hated each other for the same amount of time.
Atlas is Barlow's twin brother best friend and college roommate. A mishap with Barlow's living arrangements forces her to have to crash for a whole semester in her brother's couch, that also happens to be Atlas' couch as well.
Their banter soon turns into attraction and more.
There are no surprises in the story; no twists and turns... it's not boring, per se, but it's just ok.
I've said before that I like stories where I feel the same goosebumps and butterflies in the stomach that the characters are feeling, and there were few of those moments for me.
Nevertheless, just a fun, easy read, good to pass time.

You know when life doesn't like the way your handling it so it gives you a man like Atlas, who happens to be your brother best friend.

Atlas is that guy you are not sure can allow even a ladybug to climb his fortress around his heart. As you get to know him and his troubles, you warm up to him.

B.doesn't know that her enemy/crush is about to rock her world and take her on a tumble of the heart and mind. We as readers will feel the pain, passion, anger, hope, worry and finally you will be completely impressed.

Good story that catches the journey of heart hurt and how when the rollercoaster ride stops that rapid heartbeat is from how happy things turned out. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

OMG!! This book is so good. I loved it from beginning to end. A can't put down read. This brother's best friend romance was everything that I could have expected. Atlas and Barlow have a love/hate relationship and neither one wants to admit their attraction to the other because of course of Barlow's brother which is Atlas' best friend. A promise that was made at a young age to Brennon that Atlas would never hook up with his sister Barlow. Who knew that these two would be attracted to each other as they got older because they hated each other so much or so they thought. When things start to heat up with these two those pages ignite into flames. I absolutely loved the hate part of their banter between each other. So many lol moments and so many wishing this two would just go ahead and hook up. When they do I just feel in love with them both. This was such a great read and one that I can see myself reading again because I loved it so much. This is a can't miss read!!! Highly recommend this to anyone looking to get lost in an amazing romance read!!!

Happy Reading Everyone!!!

Force of Gravity is an enemies to lovers/brothers best friend love story. Barlow and her twin brother, Brennon have just started their first year of college. She needs to stay with him in his new apartment due to a housing issue on campus. Brennons roommate just happens to be his life long best friend, Atlas. Atlas and Barlow have never gotten along. They are also bickering at one another. Of course, there’s a mutual attraction between them, but neither would ever admit it. After a few close run ins, yen two finally give into the sexual chemistry. They quietly start hooking up until feelings get involved. This book definitely kept me entertained throughout. I often didn’t understand why the characters did certain things, but I always enjoyed reading it.

College is not getting off to a great start for Barlow when she finds herself without a place to stay. The good news is that she can stay with her brother but the bad news is that means staying with his best friend Atlas as well who has a way of annoying her unlike anyone else.

Atlas has been Barlow’s brother’s best friend since they were children but his relationship with Barlow is very different. They can’t seem to be in the same room without the sparks flying but when the antagonism turns to chemistry let the angst begin.

Atlas and Barlow have a few obstacles to overcome but I enjoyed seeing them finally realize that the disdain they thought they felt for each other was in reality something very different.
