Eggplant Emoji Vol 1 is a wonderfully funny collection of humorous short stories. A couple that I really enjoyed was The Cockroach by James P. W. Martin, and Tinderella by Heather Twerking.

The Cockroach by James P. W. Martin is a man versus cockroach story that left me in stitches until the end. It also brought back memories of living in New York City. Thank God my girlfriend never kept cockroaches as pets. The Cockroach reminded me of Roald Dahl's adult short stories.

Tinderella by Heather Twerking is a hilarious take on Cinderella, which blended kingdoms, smartphones, and dating apps.

This was SO much fun! I also realized I don’t read enough fiction that makes me laugh out loud… and that I really should.

I enjoyed all these stories but some standouts were “Hard Times; or Impotence in the Time of COVID” by Jack McBiggs, “Tinderella” by Heather Twerking, and “Godly Robotic Godbot” by Unstoppable Buffalo. The last one had me laughing out loud at least once per page, absolute absurdity.

Cannot wait for future volumes of Eggplant Emoji!

What a fun collection of comedic fiction! There is funny in here for every taste—from the clever to the absurd to the down right bizarre. "Tinderella" was my favorite! I commend Martin for his work on this because there really is a gap in the market for comedy. I can't wait to see what else Eggplant Emoji Lit has in store! It's down (or should I say up ;) ) to be hilarious!
