The Ultimate, Full-Color Guide to Using Tarot for Mindfulness
Cartomancy is like wakeful dreaming--meditating on images that produce a sense of invigorating relaxation. This comprehensive book demonstrates the amazing partnership between tarot and mindfulness. European tarot authorities Johannes Fiebig and Evelin Bürger make it easy for you to harness that partnership in fun and effective ways.
Featuring spreads, charts, and card-by-card breakdowns with color illustrations of each, this is a must-have resource for finding peace and balance through your tarot practice. Fiebig and Bürger guide you through all seventy-eight cards, showing you their symbolic language and how those symbols help you find magic in the present moment. The authors also teach you how to best use tarot cards for special occasions, answering mindfulness-related questions, and overcoming challenges. This book is packed with tips and techniques for better awareness, fulfillment, and joy.
This is kind of an augmented version of the booklet that comes with any given deck of tarot cards. As other reviews have pointed out, "mindfulness" isn't really discussed. By "mindfulness" they seem to just mean "Think about it. Won't you? Thank you."
A more accurate and purposeful version of this book would have been titled something like "Daily Tarot Meditations." It provides the card and a few thoughts and notes for the reader to think about it.
I would have rated it higher, but very early into the book they use the example of Columbus finding the Americas to explain "serendipity." I don't think "serendipity" has to be defined and there are any number of other examples that didn't lead to genocide.
They also include random quotes sometimes including one from Osho. You know, the guy connected to an attempted mass poisoning of a town. Oops. It was just some platitude too, so they could have picked someone not connected to that.
I think if you want something to springboard a daily tarot card pull and meditation, this text works fine. It adds little itself, but it might get the ball rolling.
This was not what I expected. As others have said, this would be better as more of an intro to tarot book for someone new to it. Mindfulness was a very small part of the book.
Unfortunately, the book doesn’t achieve the goal stated in the title or the description. I did appreciate a few notes and points of view shared on the major arcana.

A very simple grab of tarot with mindfulness, without much personality or insight from the authors themselves. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, But nothing you can get from grabbing any tarot and saying hey what if I was more reflective on this. Feels like something will be seeing a lot more of now the AI has come about.
