Shayla and Alex have another murder to solve when a local witch dies before an important coven meeting. Ms. St.James has created a delightful world for paranormals and I would love to visit even if I am a "Normal". Plenty of twists and red herrings kept me guessing and the reveal was scary. Needles made me chuckle more than once and it was wonderful to visit Black Forest King once more. So much to enjoy every time I visit Enchanted Island.

Shayla meets her Gran at the new coven council meetings she can offer support to her Gigi as the official head of the Council. Shayla does NOT expect a murder.
Ohhhhhh the drama.
But she is there and must investigate and things quickly spiral out of control when it is it revealed that the victim is a wanton home wrecking shrew and suspects are popping up left and right.
This is a wickedly funny book within the series with the victim as the quintessential bad girl with the ultimate consequences. Shayla as the sassy heroine fearless as always and the perfect balance for her is Alex, the gargoyle sheriff and dad to Zoie - loyal to the law and his daughter and Shayla, but compassionate too, so balanced, while vulnerable through his worries over his daughter growing up - aren’t we all? It’s always terrifying watching our loved ones grow up.
There’s also a host of community support, eccentric charismatic characters such as adorable Needles, Shayla’s father the Black Forest King and dozens of others, and the surprise villain- that really make this book a magical escape, just for an afternoon, and an absolutely worthwhile read

Another enjoyable addition to this fun and quirky series. This time, Shayla has to solve the mysterious murder of a witch… along with Needles and Alex, there’s plenty of questioning going on!
This series is the epitome of cosy paranormal mystery. The Black Forest King is awesome, and Needles is as hilarious as ever.
All the usual favourites are present, and Zoe gets an extra special scene!
A lovely way to while away a couple of hours in front of a fire or under a blanket!
Recommended for cosy paranormal mystery fans. (Start with book one though, because they run on from each other!).

Deadly Coven is Book 8 in the AWESOME Witch in the Woods series by Jenna St. James.
I love this series so much and this book was fantastic!!!
There is a murder at a New Coven meeting and Shayla is right there and her and Sherriff Alex are investigating. Not only that, Alex's daughter is going to her first school dance.
As always, Needles is my favorite character.
This was such a great book, I loved the mystery and the romance between Shayla and Alex.
I am excited for the next book in this FABULOUS series!

Wow!
There hasn't been a book, written by Jenna, that I haven't loved!! There is a little of everything in her books. Romance (just a little) mystery, comedy. Well, you get the idea!! . Sometimes I can guess who is the killer, but most comes close to the end. I am totally hooked on Jenna's books. I love to read! Always have. Cozy books are delightful. I marvel how authors can make you feel like you're part of the story. Also, how do they write so many books, and not have them repetitive! Read this book!! It's awesome!!

An important coven meeting turns deadly. Gigi has a lot on her hands, but as always,Shayla and her crew are on hand to help. The visits to Shaylas' dad are more often in this journey. This is an unpredictable mystery mixed in with many heart warming moments. I sat on the edge of my chair at times, and cried other times. A younger generation of teens have jumped on board to help solve this murder.

Wonderful premise, an island where almost everyone is magical. Every book has a murder to be solved and every book has people with different interesting magical talents. The characters are believable and although they are stand-alone books, there is a romantic thread running through them. Can’t wait for the next one. Well done!

Fantastic
I am on the fence with this one, for someone who left her old job she sure find herself in the middle of it all the time and keep getting her ass kicked and her friends hold hostage all the dam time. I am kinda upset she won't have kids of her own. Her life is so unique so I think kids would make it so much more.

Absolutely fantastic book 8 in the Witch In Time Series! Jenna St. James has once again written a book following the main and familiar characters while adding new ones with new supernatural gifts! So many twists and turns that you really don't know who did it till the end. I love her writing style!

Book 8 is full of humor (Needles is a hoot), murder, mystery, teenage angst, and a teeny bit of romance. Well written and holds your interest. If you like paranormal cozy mystery this is a great series. Highly recommend.

Another fun mystery romp
Love how there is both mystery and personal character development in each story. Enchanted Island really sounds like a most idyllic place to live despite the various murders of late. Off to the next adventure!

Lovely story
This entire series has been enjoyable to read. The main characters are interesting and beloved to this reader. The plot is easy to follow and the premise is to do no harm and stop those who are doing harm. I definitely recommend this book.

Strong addition to the series
This book had a good mystery (although I guessed the bad guy) and nice interaction among the family group. I especially liked the ending of Shayla with her Dad.

When a coven meeting turns deadly, Shayla and Alex need to solve the murder quickly. Time is of the essence because Serena’s wedding is coming up fast. Witches make colorful characters and add to the humor of this book.

Deadly Coven is a fantastic cozy mystery. It is fun and entertaining. I love the characters, especially Needles. He is so funny and entertaining. The mystery has has twists and surprises. I really enjoyed this book. This is such a great series.
