This story is well written and identifies the problem of misdiagnoses. Someone should have figured out that Emily wasn't getting worse. Consumption and Tuberculosis cause the lungs to continue to weaken, while asthma attacks the bronchial tubes and compresses the lungs. They didn't have medicine for asthma back then, but reduced the episodes by finding out what triggers the attacks. I love the chemistry between William and Ericka. I think the worst part of this story is the way Ericka treated William and her parents. I would never leave my parents without telling them. Holding back medical news from William could have made their situation worse. The climax to this story comes very fast and as well as the epilogue. It felt rushed from the rest of the story.

This is a very good and wonderful story about love and friendship and a young woman that is told that she has tuberculosis and is dying She is dumped by her fiance and she travels to Texas to her friend and looks for a second opinion She finds love and happiness with a man that loves her The characters are strong and brave and the extended epilogue completes the story with the characters together and happy A very inspiring and enjoyable story

Oh, how wonderful
One facing a death sentence and the other unable to get past his grief and guilt. They had much to work through, some misunderstandings and fear leading to a lack of trust. Complications and wonderful characters drew me in quickly and kept my interest.

She is told she has TB -- and does not trust her doctor. So she goes to visit a friend without telling anyone. He is hurting from his parents death. They become friends . . . and help each other. But is it enough? This is a superb book of healing and love!!!

A good story with adventure and intrigue! The main character had a will to find out about her health which forced her south and west to Texas! There she met her match and found true health and happiness!
