I for one enjoyed this Alpha issue of Darkhold, with Omega on the cusp. We get a lot of exposition, so be prepared for that, but it sets up this crossover event well in my opinion as I pick up the issues this and last week. At times the art is striking and even creepy, and at other frames feels a bit flat, but is by no means a deal-breaker. I assume the spin-offs will come with their own individual artists which should be interesting. Hoping for more deep dive into the Old/Elder Gods madness, entropy, scope, and cosmic scale in play.

Eh. It isn't bad but I can't help the feeling that this is just an event that is going to lead right into another. We get this alpha issue, followed by a single issue for each of the Defiled, and then an omega issue. I can't see this thing getting wrapped up this way. I'm not going to be happy if this is the case.

A weird but really interesting way to start a magical story that involves Doom, Wanda and a couple of heroes.

And you know how much I love a variant team of the Avengers; they look so cool

I liked how it was written but the art was extremely inconsistent to be honest. Sometimes it was great then other times really just eh. Still it is Wanda orientated so I'm excited for the rest!
