I write about alpha protectors who fall in love hard and unconditionally, through the good and the bad. My characters are strong, sexy, and slightly damaged... because no one is perfect. All of my novels have happy-ever-after endings. What else would you expect from a die-hard romantic? I'm the author of the McIntyre Security Bodyguard Series of contemporary romance novels.

I live in Ohio with my daughter and more than a few dogs and cats. When I'm not writing, I'm reading romance novels and watching movies with happy endings. I'd love to hear from you! You can e-mail me at aprilwilsonwrites@outlook.com. Or, visit my website: aprilwilsonauthor.com.

This hurts to write, because I've been an april wilson fan for a while, but this one just didn't do it for me. Let's start with there were inconsistencies throughout the book that if you are even half paying attention, you'll pick up on (first she tells him her husband is on prison, the a few chapters later she says he doesn't know her husband is in prison....then she gets in the driver's side and turns the ignition, then it swaps to him being in the driver's seat and turning the ignition 🤔)

It also drives me INSANE when women spend the majority of the book being self deprecating "I'm so OLD....even though I'm only a couple years older than him" at one point she says she's "old enough to be his mom" when she's MAYBE only 5 years older?

I just wasn't a fan of Maggie's, she has 2 older teenage sons (one is 17, for the love) and she waits on them hand and foot, still serving them breakfast every morning, picking up and doing their dirty laundry, not having them pick up their dishes after she made dinner. You're a single mother and one of your boys is almost an adult, they should know to do these things themselves.

I think the biggest thing that pissed me off during the book was that her oldest, Riley, was such a little shit to Owen and Maggie didn't do anything about it, so of course when he rips Owen a new one, stating "get the eff out of our house, get the eff out of our lives, you overstayed your welcome" all she's doing is sniffling standing by him...what is Owen supposed to do? "OK see ya in the morning!" ?? 🙄 then when she finds out he DID leave, she gets angry at him and tells her son "it's absolutely not your fault he left, if he wanted to stay he would have" for real?? You don't stick up for him when your sons being a real prick, but get butthurt when dude leaves, like your son told him to?! Make it make sense.

It just felt rushed to me, to be honest- first they're tiptoeing around each other, he doesn't feel he's worthy so he's not going to pursue her, then BAM outta nowhere he's going for it...uhh, what changed? It just didn't seem like a typical April Wilson book. A good chunk of it was killians book regurgitated, I already know what happened in that book, I don't need to read it again.

*spoiler alert*

Big shocker she got knocked up, didn't see that coming... I was already over this book by this time, so I was basically skimming it, but to pick up on the fact that she wasn't even going to tell him she was pregnant because she was still butt hurt that he left was just childish. I get that she was hurt he left, but she was acting like a real bitch at the end, she wouldn't even let him have a conversation with her...ma'am... you're carrying his baby, you can't ignore him forever.

I dunno what happened with this book, but I was just not a fan.

I've waited for this book. When the first one ended, I needed this book, I needed to know what happened betwen Owen and Maggie. So I pre ordered it, and when it came on my Kindle I jumped on it.
But I was disappointed. I expected Owen to be much more alpha.
I also expected the story to start where it ended on book 2, but the first half of the book is actually a retelling of the first book but with Maggie and Owen's POV. It wouldn't have bothered me had it happened some interesting things between them but not really. A few flashbacks would have been enough for me.
And then we have my biggest pet peeve that ruined it for me
After that I kind of lost interest be the honest.

Lost and Found is written by April Wilson. It is Book 2 of Search and Rescue. It takes place in a small town in Colorado.
The McIntyre brothers in Chicago want answers. Where is their sister Hannah? It is the same question that Maggie Emerson wants answered. When Hannah did not show up for dinner that night, Maggie and her sons went over to the trail head where Hannah had said she was going to start at on her hike up to see what was bothering their resident bald eagle. The sheriff went to the top of the ridge with no luck. McIntyre Security wasted no time sending their people to help find her. ‘Killian Devereaux left from Chicago with Jake McIntyre while Owen Ramsey left from Tennessee. Within hours, they were onsite looking for Hannah.
Killian had found her but they were being shot at by possible poachers. They were pinned in a ravine. Owen and Maggie came from the other end of the ravine to meet them at an old hunter’s shack. Their problem, besides the poachers, was the weather. A blizzard hit the mountain and they were stranded in the hut. The good thing was Hannah was fine except for a broken ankle; but the bad thing was that she could identify the poachers. Until they were found and put out of business, Hannah and even Maggie and her boys were in danger. Killian and Owen stand between them and danger.

Long awaited

I adore Owen. He's such a kind and patient guy. I was very glad when Owen got his story. I could tell from the previous story he was in that he would be an awesome character for a romance. And this guy was hit on buy every female in the book. Lol yet still humble. I also loved the shyness about him. Just because he's a bit of an Alfa doesn't mean he needs to be in your face overprotective like alot of males in books. His character was refreshing and I loved it. Maggie was a great example of mother's today. Works yet makes time to be the parent by respectful to her son's. You can't expect them to learn it if you don't practice it . And to say I'm thrilled with Owen and Maggie's addition is understated. Loved this book . I wish it could have continued. Maybe we will be lucky with a short story of the new family

The wait is over...
I've been waiting not so patiently for Owen and Maggie's story since book1 search and rescue was released and the wait was soooo worth it. I don't think April knows how to write a book thats not 100% perfect.

Owen broke my heart, so sweet, rough and broken, I knew he would be someone special and he was definitely that.
Maggie is independent, mother to teen boys and such a wonderful person.

Their story is just beautiful, yes there are insecurities, troubles, up and downs but when you find ur perfect one you need to work together and fight for it.

A must read 📚 I recommend reading book 1 search and rescue first.

5 Claire Margaret Ramsey stars!!!

I loved this book so much. I put away all deadlines to finish this book in 1 night. Maggie’s twin boys Brendon and Riley were absolute gems! Truly my favourite character of the book.

Not only do we see more of Hannah & Killian from the previous book in the series, we get scenes that happened in the previous book with Hannah missing in Maggie and Owen’s perspective.

This book had an engaging plot, awesome climax and an awesome epilogue. The angst was also mwah *chef’s kiss*

I can’t wait to read about Maya & Travis, Maya seems like a badass ;)

DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

Once again April writes a book that I could not put down until the end. I have been rooting for Owen to find his HEA since Collateral Damage (Another Amazing April Wilson book), and then started rooting for Maggy and Owen in Search & Rescue (Yep, another homerun book by April Wilson).
In Lost and Found you learn more about them and how broken they are individually, but how strong they are together. You are on an emotional roller coaster with Owen and what he has been through, but it is so worth the ride. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!!! Enjoy

All The Feels. Love this new series

I absolutely loved Owen and Maggie’s story. I was intrigued by Owen ever since he popped up in Sophie and Dominic’s story. He made another appearance in Hannah’s and Killians story, and I thought he and Maggie belonged together and was so happy to find out April agreed. I read this straight through and it’s now my favorite one as usual till Aprils next one. Highly recommend you take the ride April takes you on getting Owen and Maggie their HEA.

SOOOO GOOD!

April Wilson is a one-click buy for me. Her latest, Lost and Found, is a great read as are all of her books. April pulls you into the lives of Owen and Maggie, two very human and relatable people. Their personal journey to love has all the feels. I could not put it down until I reached the end. If you haven't read her previous work, you need to grab them right now! Start with McIntyre Security and then follow with the spin-offs. You'll be glad you did.

Amazing! Five stars aren’t enough!

Once again, April Wilson outdid herself. I’ve read all of her books multiple times and never get tired of rereading them. She is such a gifted writer with creative storylines and lovable characters that remain with the reader long after finishing the story. I can’t wait to read the next book she writes!

thought provoking

Another excellent book from April Wilson. I love how her heroines and heroes are not perfect people but they have issues to live with and messy lives sometimes but ultimately family wins out. I also love how the scenery and setting is brought to life plus the animals! Great story with plenty of action and emotion.

Beautiful story

anyone who read the first search and rescue book wanted to know what happened with Owen and Maggie and now we do!!! We were able to experience Hannah's rescue from Owen and Maggie's Log and then learn how their relationship formed! Owen has stars that run deep and Maggie doesn't think she's good enough for him. But their journey proves otherwise!

Never to old.

Maggie thinks maybe she's to old to start a new family. And then there's the whole trust thing. Owen thinks Maggie is the best thing he's ever seen. How can they not love each other?

So I really wanted to give this book 5 stars the main reason being he had a Border collie called Shep, same as myself. BUT the biggest thing that really annoyed me was that Maggie let her son act up, she condoned it. There was no talking to him to see what his problem was, there was no you show Owen some respect, it's just do what you want act up and behave how you want to. That is such bad parenting I really didn't care when he went missing almost like you really deserve that you've been as a$$ all the way through.
Then Maggie treated Owen horribly, I understand she was hormonal and upset but her son treated him worse and she just okayed it. But then punishes Owen because he is trying to do the right thing. And don't even get me started on the fact she refused to tell him about the baby, I mean seriously not only is she a bad mother for not doing anything about her sons behaviour but she is a horrible women. Honestly IMO Owen is better off running for the hills and staying there. The only 2 likeable members of family were Owen and Brendan. I skipped the first book and I really won't be continuing with the series.

excellent narration

Hero with PTSD, OW/YM, single mom w teenage boys/ bodyguard romance, slow burn

Loved book 1, but not so much that I just wanted it retold but with 2 different perspectives. Then more contemporary than suspense romance - okay fine but not what I expected - wanted something lost and found or searched and rescued. Okay, i guess there was a little bit. Then it just turned into everything I actually hate about romance books .... spoilers below

Loved the narration - Jason Clarke and Kirsten Leigh were perfect

negatives about the book -
misunderstanding, adults not acting like adults, a pregnancy after not having a period in a year but yup the condom broke after the first time having sex in a decade. You have to be kidding me. Why was this necessary?

What happened to Owen's 2 dogs? Abandoned them?

This book follows Book 1 Search and Rescue in the McIntyre Search and Rescue... We learn a little about Owen and Maggie and in Lost and Found we find out much more about them as characters. Their story is not an easy journey, covering the after effects of PTSD and all the implications as to how it affects more than just one person within a family. Neither character think they will ever find love again.... so how they come together is one of our author's special gifts....April Wilson's books are gentle, but with a depth and understanding of difficult issues. Always a great read.
I would recommend you read April's books in order to get the benefits of all the characters.

The first 50% is repeating the story from book 1

If you read the 1st book in the series, be warned that it is repeated in this book. It is not until over 50% has been read that this new relationship is written about. I grew really bored at the re-hashing of what I had read practically word for word except from another woman's point. Yes you get to know a little about Owen, but to take up over half a story repeating the facts in the first book is utterly scandalous. What a waste of money.
I was so disappointed in the rest as it was bland and without anything to hold my attention.

I feel like such a cow giving it one star because I love April’s other books. BUT…. She basically retold the first book just from a different POV, which was boring and unnecessary, there wasn’t really anything new that happened. There were some inconsistencies with the plot, such as Maggie telling Owen about her ex being in prison and then suddenly she’s like “oh no, I’m so ashamed of my ex being in prison, however will I tell Owen!” I just didn’t enjoy this one.

I did not like Owen. He’s 35 years old and couldn’t man up to be honest with Maggie about what he was feeling. She was easygoing enough that she would’ve understood where he was coming from if he opened up to her, but he just up and left. And you can’t convince me that a woman would just forgive so easily. He was a dud. I didn’t feel the chemistry.

While told from Maggie or Owen's perspective, why does this book start with Hannah missing? This is book two. In book one, she is found, now safe and healed. This is too much backtracking. And I do not think Owen and Maggie have any chemistry. Same place, same time. And for Owen, who needs to be busy, following Maggie around like a lost puppy does not suffice.

A locked duffle bag? Duffle bags are soft fabric. Someone could simply use a knife to cut one open.

She looks amazing in embroidered blue jeans, a blue-and-white plaid flannel shirt...- I fail to picture anything amazing about embroidered and plaid clothing. Hard pass on both.

You’ve been cooking every night since I got here...- they literally went out to eat the previous night.

I climb behind the wheel and start the engine...(on the same page, in the same truck) He starts the engine and backs out of our parking spot- there are so many small oversights. This book desperately needs an editor.

Owen Ramsey Is a former, Marine Vet. He is thirty-five with no family and, has never been married. Owen came to the attention of, Shane McIntyre and his family when he hired, Domonic. He was hired to make, Shane’s sister, Sophie, disappear. The Chicago mob was after her. They want her dead. That's when he takes her to his secret, off-the-grid cabin. It's his, Marine buddy, Owen who gets it ready for him. He’s not just any house sitter. Oh no! He’s a tracker, a marksman, and a loyal man.

So, when Dominic calls in another favor this time on behalf of his sister-in-law, Hannah. Yup! Shane, Jamie, Jake, Sophie, Liam, and, Lia’s sister. So, the bottom line they accept, Owen because Dominic said he is one of the best. You see, Hannah’s boss asked her to go up to, Eagle Ridge to check on, Betty the, Bald Eagle. There have been sightings of poachers. When she didn't make it back on time, Maggie contacted, Shane. Hence, she is getting, Killian and, Owen to track her. They find her and the poachers are looking for her.

Shane assigns, Killian with, Hannah he’s matchmaking. Then he assigns, Owen to, Maggie Emerson, forty, single with two teens Riley and Brandon. And she's one of the owners, of the grocery store. Now, in, Hannah and, Killian’s book, it made it sound like right after, they caught the poachers he hopped on a plane. In this story with their POV, you get the down and dirty, about what went on in, Maggie’s household. It's heartbreaking to see, Owen tormented by his PTSD. When he says, it should have been him because he had no one to come back to, but his three buddies did. It killed me! But, went he left, he cut deep. However, the joy of the gift he was given from, Maggie was priceless.

McIntyre Search and Rescue, Book 2
By: Author April Wilson's Page
Narrated by: Jason Clarke, Kirsten Leigh

Are you looking for a great romance with a lot of suspense? Look no further! April Wilson has it right here with her McIntyre Search and Rescue series! This is book two and it features Owen and Maggie and it's packed with all the things I love in a book. Maggie is a single mother with two kids. When her best friend,Hannah goes missing, Owen is brought in to help the search and rescue team, and once Hannah is found, Owen stays with Maggie to make sure her family is safe. There is a definite attraction, but with Owen's PTSD and Maggie's insecurities, nothing is acted on. Until it is. And off we go! I was totally sucked into this story. I love the mystery, the slow burn and the over protective kids. But what I love the most is learning both of their backgrounds and how it molds who they are. And then Wilson throws in several more curve balls and the story just exceeds my expectations. It's a fabulous listen and I will definitely be picking up others in this series.

Jason Clarke and Kirsten Leigh are one of my favorite narrating teams and they are spot on with their performances. Clarke is the broody, broken Owen, and his voice exudes the pain and guilt he feels. He is one who can let his voice slowly lift as the character changes letting us feel his growth. Leigh is the insecure woman, fantastic mother Maggie, giving her the independence she needs and keeps the wall around her heart until it thaws. She lets us into all the feels as Maggie changes. Fantastic listen!

Wow, what a suspenseful, and steamy romance! I loved the sexual tension between Owen and Maggie in the first book and was very excited to find out more about them. I loved how it overlaps with the first book so we get to see those events from Owen and Maggie's POV, and also how their relationship begins. Maggie is a single mom to two teen boys. She works hard and loves taking care of everybody. Owen is a ruggedly handsome, retired US Marine, who suffers from PTSD. They connect instantly, but are afraid to act on it for different reasons. Owen is younger than Maggie, so she feels insecure, thinking he would want someone younger. Owen loves her strength, and how she cares for everyone. But he feels unworthy because of what happened to him overseas. He also loved her boys, but doesn't want to cause any problems. They work closely together and slowly fall hard for each other. But when someone comes between them, will they be strong enough to fight for each other? This second book in the McIntyre Search and Rescue series, continues to be an exciting and steamy romance, with plot twists that had me completely invested in Owen, and Maggie and cheering for their HEA. My heart broke for what Owen and Maggie went through in their pasts, but it made them the smart, protective, and passionate people they are today.
I loved listening to the talented Jason Clarke, and Kirsten Leigh as they brought this story to life so flawlessly. Clarke had the perfect balance of Owen's protective, alpha dominance, with a swoony tender side, and Leigh showed us Maggie's strength, resilience, and vulnerabilities so beautifully. They easily drew me in, and made this story, with all it's twists and turns, even more exciting.
